Breakfast Potato Bake

If you’re used to having heavier foods at breakfast time like eggs and bacon, pancakes, or oatmeal with milk but you’re wanting a fat-free breakfast choice to help you heal, then this creamy and delicious breakfast bake is a fantastic choice! It’s also a great option for lunches or dinners. You can serve this breakfast potato bake up to family or friends or enjoy it over multiple meals or days for yourself. Feel free to play with the optional add-ins for variety and fun!

Potatoes are abundant in amino acids that specifically inhibit viral growth. They’re high in glucose that provides substance to the liver, as it’s precisely what the liver relies on to keep strong. They also help build up glycogen storage, the very resource that protects us against blood sugar problems, weight gain, fatty liver, and dirty blood syndrome. Potatoes keep the liver grounded and stable, giving us a good constitution. They have the ability to help reverse many varieties of chronic illness.

Breakfast Potato Bake

Ingredients:

Potato Cheese Sauce:

Optional add-ins:

  • 1 cup thinly sliced onions, cooked in water until caramelized
  • 1 cup finely chopped broccoli
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms, cooked in water until soft
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley

Directions:

To make the potato cheese sauce, place the potatoes and carrots in a steamer or colander set over a pot of boiling water. Cover with a lid and steam for 10-15 minutes until tender when pierced with a fork.

Remove the cooked potatoes and carrots from the steamer and place in a blender while still hot. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, turmeric, paprika, lemon juice, and water. Blend until thick and smooth, adding as little water as possible to blend.

Preheat oven to 400F/200C.

Add a layer of sliced potatoes to the bottom of a medium-sized baking dish, followed by a layer of any of the optional additions. Repeat layers until you run out of potato slices and additions. Pour the potato cheese sauce evenly on top, spreading it out with a spatula so it coats the top of the potatoes.

Bake for 40-50 minutes, until the potatoes are soft and the top is browned. If the top browns before the potatoes are fully cooked through, cover the top until the potatoes are done.

Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Makes 4-6 servings

Fruit Picking Meditation: Healing Anxiety & PTSD

Many of us have busy lives that keep us from getting in touch with nature, and have robbed us of the chance to partake in one of the most important aspects of nature – fruit picking. Why is fruit picking so important? Because picking fruit can heal anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as rebuild your spirit, heart, and soul. If you’re someone who is living with anxiety, and even suffering from it, then you know what it’s like to feel held back, constricted, in fear, and even unable to go through your day in a peaceful manner because every moment is worry about how you’re handling your anxiety. Anyone going through this needs every edge they can get in their favor to battle this condition and bring about peace and safety. The fruit picking meditation is one way of providing a sanctuary while in the process of healing, helping to eliminate the feelings we get on a daily basis that anxiety creates, learn more about this in this podcast episode

Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

If you're like most people, when you hear the term “post-traumatic stress disorder” you think of war veterans and survivors of a traumatic event. When your life is in imminent danger, your fear triggers a fight-or-flight response that floods your body with adrenaline, so that you can respond to the threat. Once the threat has passed you may experience emotional aftershocks. This is the classic form of PTSD recognized by therapists and psychiatrists.

However, there’s an epidemic of hidden PTSD in our culture. In its true definition, PTSD involves lingering negative feelings that can result from any adverse experience—getting fired, the end of a relationship, chronic illness, or even just a time when you feel like you failed at something—and that limit a person in any way. These feelings can include fear, doubt, panic, avoidance, anger, hypervigilance, irritability, sadness, shame, vulnerability, distrust, and more. To learn more about how the Fruit Healing Meditation can help heal PTSD and PTSS, listen to this podcast episode

Fruit Picking Meditation

Picking fruit is one of the most powerful meditations in existence, and is a sacred act of respect and gratitude to the earthly mother for the miracle of food. Each piece of fruit still on the tree is living food, and connected through the plant’s roots to living water, deep within the earth. If you visit an apple orchard, and touch an apple on the tree, your cells will resonate with the apple’s grounded nature, and peace will spread throughout your body. When you take the time to focus on nature’s rhythms, you activate trust and faith within your soul. This can rewire your neurons, reverse anxiety, and heal PTSD, and your efforts to live a good life will be fruitful.

The Fruit Picking Meditation is for anyone who does not have access to picking fruit, whether that is because of the time of year, or other circumstances. If you have picked fruit before, this meditation will let you experience it once again, reigniting your past experience, and activating healing in your soul. If you have never picked a piece of fruit in your life, the Fruit Picking Meditation will be just as powerful and healing for you.

Moving Forward

Picking fruit is a part of your soul, spirit, and heart and therefore, helps to heal your soul, spirit, and heart. Reconnecting with fruit picking is like reconnecting to your soul’s very existence, and can help you find your way and live your life freely.

Please do not perform this meditation while driving or operating machinery.

Your path will never be the same now that you have experienced fruit picking, which will begin to reverse PTSD, anxiety, broken trust, and anything that stands in your way of you becoming a fruitful, empowered, stronger, enlightened being.

Anxiety: They Say It's All In Your Head

Many people have to live their life around anxiety. It rules their every waking moment and can determine what they’re going to be able to accomplish in a day. Anxiety can be different for everyone, as the symptoms of anxiety range from mild to moderate, and even severe. People who struggle with anxiety can experience discomfort, unease, feeling no desire to keep moving, not wanting to sit still, difficulty being around crowds, feelings of nervousness, sweaty palms, racing thoughts, hopelessness, and so much more. The range of anxiety isn’t one to ten, it’s more like one to one hundred thousand, because that is how many variations of anxiety exist and how everyone can feel it differently. Unless you’ve been in someone’s shoes who has struggled or suffered with anxiety, can you really understand what they’re going through.

What Can Cause or Trigger Anxiety?

There are triggers for anxiety and then there are deeper root causes of anxiety, learn more about this in this podcast episode.

Emotional struggles, hardships, and emotional stress can be both a trigger and a cause of anxiety. If someone receives very distressful information that involves anything important to the heart and soul of that person, such as betrayal, relationship break-up, broken trust, or even a great loss, a shock occurs in the emotional center of the brain. Immediately, heat builds where neurons and brain tissue become elevated in temperature. If this initial emotional blow is a serious one to the person receiving it, then this first shock wave and overheating of brain tissue can cause a temporary injury – brain tissue and neurons can cauterize, and a callus can form within days. This callus is made out of injured brain tissue from the intense heat, which becomes scar tissue. Electrical impulses can’t easily find their way through this area of the emotional center of the brain and neurotransmitters become weakened and diminish. This can lead to anxiety, ranging from mild to even severe. This can be temporary because the neurons and brain cells have an ability to regenerate quickly, depending on how much of an emotional blow someone sustained, how devastating it was in the moment for them, and if the emotional turmoil was prolonged.

Emotional injury can make someone very sensitive, especially if it is repeated. One example of repetitive emotional injury is a relationship where a couple breaks up, gets back together and heals the wounds, and then breaks up again, repeating this cycle over and over. These consistent emotional shocks can cause a continual overheating in the brain, where more calluses are formed, and make someone allergic to any kind of stress, hypersensitive to any kind of confrontation or drama, and hesitant to trust someone else or start a new relationship.

Heightened anxiety could occur with any emotional hardships, struggles, or stressors. Learn more in this podcast episode

How Anxiety Relates to Existing Health Conditions

People with an existing symptom and condition can also be struggling with anxiety. It is difficult enough to have conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease, POTS, dysautonomia, sarcoidosis, Sjogren’s syndrome, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, eczema, psoriasis, endometriosis, migraines, vertigo, and symptoms such as tingles and numbness, aches and pains, tics and spasms, ringing in the ears, dizziness, jaw pain, neck pain, eye floaters, and blurry eyes, but to also have anxiety on top of these can make someone’s life more difficult and challenging.

Anxiety is a neurological symptom, and many people already have other neurological symptoms, which can all be caused by a similar virus, such as Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV). If someone is struggling with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, chronic fatigue, body aches and pains, or eye floaters, and additionally suffering from anxiety, the anxiety can be caused by the same virus that is causing their other conditions. Viruses, such as Epstein-Barr, release neurotoxins that cling to the vagus and phrenic nerves, causing inflammation of these nerves, and resulting in heightened anxiety. We often separate these symptoms as if there is a different cause for them, but that is not an accurate way of understanding someone’s health problems. If you’re someone with multiple sclerosis or fibromyalgia, you’re experiencing neurological symptoms, and have anxiety alongside it, most likely they’re one in the same. The sensation of anxiety is caused by phrenic and vagus nerves being inflamed which can also result in aches and pains and dizziness someone with fibromyalgia or multiple sclerosis live with. Cinnamon Raisin Bread

In this delicious recipe, raisins along with cinnamon are the star ingredients. The raisins bring bursts of flavor while also offering healing properties. We tend to overlook raisins as a healing food. But don’t let their humble status fool you. Raisins are more powerful for your health than goji berries! Cinnamon is another healing food that will also fill your home with its wonderful fragrance as the Cinnamon Raisin bread bakes. Enjoy this bread alone or try spreading a little raw honey on top for an extra sweet treat.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Ingredients:

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

Mix together the ground flaxseeds and water. Set aside for 5 minutes, until thickened.

Add the flaxseeds to a medium-sized mixing bowl together with the applesauce, maple syrup, and water. Whisk until uniform.

Add the oat flour, millet flour, tapioca starch, baking powder, and cinnamon to the wet ingredients and stir until evenly mixed. Stir in the raisins until evenly dispersed in the batter, then set the batter aside for 15 minutes.

Pour the batter into a loaf pan, being careful not to lose any of the air bubbles that have formed in the batter. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove from oven and carefully tip out of the loaf pan right away. Remove the parchment paper and place on a wire rack until it has completely cooled. Slice and serve.

Mold - Illness Trigger

Mold often gets the blame for many different illnesses, but mold itself is not the cause of chronic symptoms and conditions. Mold is a trigger; it lowers the immune system so that underlying low-grade viral and bacterial infections such as Epstein-Barr virus, shingles, and streptococcus can prosper and proliferate, causing anything from vertigo to chronic sinusitis. Viruses and bacteria are the real cause of countless symptoms and conditions, along with toxic heavy metals, and other toxins.

One person can be exposed to mold by inhaling it or eating it and exhibit no symptoms. When this happens, it’s because they didn’t have much of a viral load that could take advantage of the drop in the immune system that happened when they were exposed. For someone else who has multiple viruses and/or bacteria and more aggressive strains, mold exposure can be a potent trigger that sets off the underlying viruses and bacteria, resulting in the onset of new symptoms or conditions or the worsening of current ones. Again, the difference is whether or not someone has an underlying viral or bacterial issue poised to wreak havoc. This is why someone can experience symptoms months or years after mold exposure–long after the mold is no longer in their life in any way. It’s really another underlying issue that’s behind their symptoms.

Another element is what kind of mold someone is exposed to and for how long. There are different varieties of mold toxins, some more aggressive than others. Some don’t affect the immune system much at all while others are very toxic.

Find out more about how mold triggers the underlying causes of illness and how to protect yourself against mold in the Medical Medium podcast titled “Mold: The Crazy Maker” on Apple Podcasts.

Lemon Snaps

Mouth-meltingly delicious and sweet, with the perfect tangy lemon edge, these crunchy lemon snap cookies could well become a favorite in your home!

Lemons contain micro mineral salts that break down pathogens such as unproductive bacteria, mold, yeast, and fungus to help protect your liver’s immune system. The rich calcium levels in lemons binds to the vitamin C within them, and both of these enter into the liver, where they waken a stagnant, sluggish, fatty liver, helping loosen and disperse fat cells.

Lemon Snaps

Ingredients:

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground flaxseeds and water. Set aside for 5 minutes so the flaxseeds can expand. Stir in the coconut oil, maple sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice, and lemon zest until you get a uniform mixture.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond flour, oat flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the dry mixture to the wet in 2 parts, stirring to form a loose dough. Chill dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Using a 1 1/2 inch cookie scoop, scoop the dough and roll into balls. The dough should be quite soft. Place on a prepared baking tray and press down lightly with your palm.

Bake for 16-18 minutes, until golden brown. The cookies should be quite soft at this point; they will harden as they cool. Let sit for 5 minutes before placing cookies on a wire rack to cool completely.

Best kept at room temperature in an airtight container.

Makes 14-16 cookies

Mold: The Crazy Maker

Going down the mold path is not easy for anyone. It requires a certain mindset to be able to live your life and at the same time, live with the mold around you. How do you battle an invisible invader that instills so much fear in people, and can worsen health symptoms and conditions? The mold today is not the same mold of yesterday, the mold today is much stronger than mold ever was in our history. This mold runs on a frequency, EMF, radio signals, and energy emitting from power plants; it thrives on technology and has adapted and lives by this power. Mold can trigger someone who is seemingly healthy and has had no health problems before but can especially trigger someone who is already struggling with an existing health symptom or condition.

Mold Exposure

When you experience your first symptoms, such as fatigue, dizziness, focus and concentration issues, nausea, headaches or migraines, or tingles and numbness, and you’re searching for answers, someone may mention mold, and send you on the hunt for mold in your home or workplace. Chances are, once you go looking for mold, you will find some, whether it’s just little bits of black mold on the grout in the shower, or a serious mold problem elsewhere in the home or workplace.

This mold, found in the home or workplace, is not the cause of why someone is sick, but can certainly be the trigger. This can explain why several family members or co-workers may not fall ill from mold exposure, while another can be left bedridden with severe fatigue, body aches and pains, bloating, vertigo, tinnitus, burning skin, tightness of the chest, anxiety or depression. These symptoms, and the conditions that can be diagnosed alongside them, are caused by viruses and toxic heavy metals, more about this here in this podcast episode. For many, mold exposure is the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Mold can lower the immune system and make someone susceptible to something else that resides inside of them.

Immune System

When we get exposure to mold, our immune systems become overloaded and our body has to use its deep reserves to help battle the mold invader. When our immune cells see mold spores enter our bloodstream, they quickly try to gobble up as many mold spores as possible to protect us from the neurotoxin that mold is made up of – so they don’t enter the brain. Mold rarely enters the brain because our body’s immune system uses every last immune cell to stop it from happening. Learn more about how the immune system battles mold exposure in this podcast episode

Healing Foods

Certain fruits, leafy greens, herbs, wild foods, and vegetables are critical in helping us defend ourselves from mold sickness and exposure, including celery, spinach, arugula, cilantro, winter squash, potatoes, apples, oranges and more. These foods are filled with glucose, trace minerals, and phytochemical healing compounds that include anti-fungal, anti-viral, and antibacterial compounds that are necessary to keep us strong. The pectin in apples enters the intestinal tract and binds onto any mold spores that may be on the inside lining, grabbing onto them and pulling them out of the body.

Consuming sixteen to thirty-two ounces of celery juice daily is another critical healing tool for mold exposure and sickness. For more healing tools to defend against mold listen to this podcast episode.

In This Podcast Episode:

  • Learn more in depth information on the topics in this article
  • Learn how mold can be a trigger for many health symptoms and conditions, including tingles, numbness, dizziness, ringing in the ears, eczema,
  • psoriasis, body pain, migraines, acne, Hashimotos, anxiety, depression, heart palpitations, brain fog, Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome,
  • lupus, multiple sclerosis (MS), UTIs, sinus infections, bladder infections, sore throats, and more

  • Understand the difference between mold that is on food versus toxic mold that can be in attics, basements, and underneath kitchen or bathroom sinks
  • What healing tools to incorporate to help rebuild the immune system and defend yourself from mold sickness

Moving Forward

We don’t always have full control over our environment or surroundings, but there are ways to fight against mold exposure while living with the mold itself. With the right tools and information, you can take control of your health, support your immune system as it battles the true cause of why you are sick, and no longer allow mold to run your life.

As we run from mold, let’s remember not to let it run us off the cliff, we’re better where we are, try to keep your feet on the ground, you can beat mold in many ways and still be safe and sound.

True Cause Of Neurological Symptoms

In most cases, neurological symptoms are a mystery to medical research and science. If physical injury has not occurred, then neurological symptoms are typically caused by one or more of the over 60 varieties of Epstein-Barr virus, one or more of the over 30 varieties of shingles virus, or any of the multiple strains of herpes simplex 1 or herpes simplex 2.

These viruses feed on mercury and other toxins that reside inside the body, and they release neurotoxins to which the nervous system is very sensitive, leading to inflammation of the brain that appears mysterious to medical research and science.

These neurotoxins that viruses (such as EBV) expel after feeding on toxic heavy metals create so many of the symptoms that sufferers of autoimmune disease experience. The neurological symptoms of fibromyalgia, MS, Lyme disease, RA, Hashimoto’s, and ME/CFS, as well as stand-alone symptoms such as fatigue, aches, pains, tingles, numbness, vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus, eye floaters, nerve pain, neuropathy, heart palpitations, burning skin, and migraines, spasms, restlessness, restless legs, muscle weakness, tightness in the chest—to name just a few—are a result of these neurotoxins.

Oftentimes, the viruses take advantage of previous injuries, where the nerves were weakened, allowing the viruses and the neurotoxins they produce to create bodily inflammation and discomfort.

Troublemaker foods such as eggs, milk, cheese, butter, and gluten worsen these symptoms, as do colognes, perfumes, air fresheners, and scented candles, all of which can feed the viruses accelerating neurological issues. A high-fat/high-protein diet interferes with glucose that nerve cells need critically for rejuvenation.

Find out more about how neurological symptoms develop and how you can heal in my podcast episode Neurological Symptoms: Body Pain, Dizziness, Tingles – Oh Sh*t! or in my book Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal: Healing Plans for Sufferers of Anxiety, Depression, Acne, Eczema, Lyme, Gut Problems, Brain Fog, Weight Issues, Migraines, Bloating, Vertigo, Psoriasis, Cysts, Fatigue, PCOS, Fibroids, UTI, Endometriosis & Autoimmune.
