Chemical compounds in the key five ingredients—wild blueberries, spirulina, cilantro, barley grass juice powder, and Atlantic dulse—all work together to carry toxic heavy metals out of the body safely. These five foods each have the ability to harness radical, destabilized, corroded, oxidized metal debris as well as new metals that would otherwise aggressively injure tissue as they traveled.

Wild blueberries ignite a purging effect in the brain. They extract the metals, while also healing the damage the metals have left behind so that new brain cell growth is stimulated.

Once wild blueberries have expelled and carried out heavy metals and their debris into the bloodstream, other chemical compounds from spirulina, barley grass juice powder, and cilantro can help navigate this debris safely out of the body.

Cilantro, barley grass juice powder, and spirulina work together specially, each playing unique and critical roles in removing toxic heavy metals.

Atlantic dulse, a type of sea vegetable, acts as a safety net as metals expel into the intestinal tract. Dulse is insurance to assist in escorting out of the body any metals that are captured by and attached to other key ingredients, or metals that are on their own.

Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen mango
  • 2 cups frozen or fresh wild blueberries, or 2 oz pure wild blueberry juice, or 2 tbsp pure wild blueberry powder
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries (optional)
  • 1 cup tightly packed fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp barley grass juice powder
  • 1 tsp spirulina
  • 1 tbsp Atlantic dulse or 2 dropperfuls Atlantic dulse liquid
  • 1 tbsp raw honey (optional)*
  • ½ to 1 cup water, coconut water, or freshly squeezed orange juice (optional)
  • 1 banana, sliced, for topping (optional)
  • ¼ cup of fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and/or strawberries, for topping (optional)

Directions:

Place the mango, blueberries, strawberries (if using), cilantro, barley grass juice powder, spirulina, Atlantic dulse, optional raw honey, and ½ cup water, coconut water, or orange juice (if using) in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth, at least 3 to 5 minutes. Add a bit more liquid if necessary to blend. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with banana slices and berries (if using). Serve immediately.

*If you’re doing a Heavy Metal Detox Cleanse, you can use this recipe in place of the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie if you leave out the raw honey. You can also use it in place of the Advanced Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie if you leave out the honey and increase the spirulina, barley grass juice powder, and cilantro to the amounts in the Advanced recipe in Chapter 10 of Brain Saver Protocols, Cleanses & Recipes.

Tips:

  • If the barley grass juice powder and spirulina taste is too strong for you, start with a smaller amount of each and work your way up.
  • If you select fresh strawberries for this recipe, remove the greens before using.
  • If you’re in a part of the world where you can’t access any form of wild blueberries, you can substitute blackberries, although blackberries do not uproot heavy metals.
  • If you’re using this recipe in a Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Cleanse, omit the honey.
