These fun Carrot Hot Dogs are a great option for family lunches and dinners or to serve at parties, picnics, and children’s sports games. The roasted carrots can be made in advance and warmed up in the oven when you’re ready to use them. A “toppings bar” with as many different toppings choices as you’d like is a fun way to offer something for everyone.
Carrot Hot Dogs
For the carrots:
Place the carrots to a small baking dish. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, sea salt and water/vegetable broth. Pour over the carrots and cover the pan. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 420F. Place the covered baking dish in the oven and roast for 30 minutes. Remove the cover and roast for another 20 minutes, until the carrots are just tender.
Place carrots in hot dog buns and add toppings. Serve immediately.

These veggie burgers are a fantastic way to satisfy a burger craving. With the base of the veggie patties coming from sweet potato and other veggies, you’ll be giving your body nutrients while enjoying every second of sinking your teeth into a delicious burger. Pack your burger full of crispy lettuce, salty and sweet tomato slices, creamy avocado, or any other toppings of your choice and enjoy!
“Sweet potatoes: An important glucose and glycogen storage food for the liver. All sweet potatoes and yams are beneficial, even white sweet potatoes. Similar to regular potatoes, they help support almost every function for which the liver is responsible inside our bodies. Sweet potatoes have phytochemical properties that calm heated, angry, stagnant, sluggish, and toxic livers and help prevent spasming. They also offer a range of hormone-balancing phytochemicals for the liver; the liver uses sweet potatoes and yams to regulate and control some of its hormone functions.” – excerpt from Liver Rescue
Additional topping options:
Place a non-stick pan on medium-high heat. Add the onions and mushrooms and fry for 2-3 minutes until the onions start to soften. Add the sweet potato, garlic, coconut aminos and tomato paste. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring often, until the sweet potato starts to soften. Add the water add place on the lid. Cook at medium-high heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring often, until the sweet potato is soft. Add more water if necessary. Remove from heat and cool completely.
Place the sweet potato mixture in a food processor and pulse a couple times until the mixture is smooth but still chunky. Don’t over process. Place in a medium-sized mixing bowl and set aside.
Add the walnuts to the food processor and blend until you get a coarse crumb. Add to the bowl with the sweet potato mixture, followed by the ground flaxseed, smoked paprika and ground cumin. Mix until uniform. The mixture should be firm enough to shape into patties - if not then add more ground flaxseed. Shape into patties.
Refrigerate for 1 hour for a firmer patty, or cook immediately using a non-stick pan for 4-5 minutes at medium-high heat on either side.
To assemble the burgers, place the patties on burger buns and add toppings of your choosing. Serve immediately.

These crispy baked zucchini fries are the perfect healthy and delicious way to conquer a fried food craving! Coated in chickpea breadcrumbs and spices, these fries have that crunch factor that will both satisfy you and keep you coming back for more!
Zucchini is a highly alkaline food that is one of the mildest and easiest vegetables to digest. Zucchini is a great source of vitamin A, C, & B-complex as well as minerals such as iron, zinc, potassium, and manganese. It is high in fiber and low in calories which makes it a great weight loss food and helps to reduce constipation and bloating.
Zucchini is a fruit that’s helpful for liver hydration. It allows the liver to store micro pockets of water that it can later release back into the bloodstream during moments of chronic dehydration in your life. Zucchini have a mild liver purging effect, allowing the liver to squeeze out poisonous troublemakers safely. It’s also soothing to the intestinal tract walls, pushing out pathogens such as bacteria and fungus, allowing for better absorption of nutrients that can be sent up to the liver. Zucchini is also a beneficial gallbladder food, containing phytochemicals that actually reduce gallbladder inflammation.
Preheat oven to 400F. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
Combine the chickpea breadcrumbs, dried oregano, paprika, garlic powder and sea salt in a small bowl and mix until combined. Set aside.
In another bowl, make the flax egg by combing the ground flaxseeds and unsweetened almond milk. Whisk until uniform. Set aside for at least 5 minutes to thicken.
Dip the zucchini first into the flax egg and then into the breadcrumb mixture, coating it evenly. Place on the baking sheet and repeat with the rest of the zucchini pieces. Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden and crispy. Serve immediately.

Mangos aren't just exceptionally tasty, they are also have incredible healing properties. Classic French Onion Soup gets a healthy makeover in this recipe, without sacrificing any flavor. This soup is so delicious and satisfying all on its own. Add the optional Cashew Cheese Toast topping and you’ve got a recipe that will wow guests at a dinner party or please everyone around the family dinner table.
Onions have an amazing array of medicinal benefits and are high in vitamin C, folate, biotin, chromium, and calcium. Onions are the richest food source of quercitin, which is a potent antioxidant that has been shown to lower cholesterol, blood pressure and triglycerides as well as help to prevent blood clots, asthma, sinus infections, bronchitis, atherosclerosis, and diabetes. They also contain powerful anti-cancer properties which have been found to help slow and reverse tumor growth within the body.
Onions are particularly beneficial for stomach, colon, prostate, breast, lung, bladder, and ovarian cancer. They contain valuable sulfur compounds that are known to significantly strengthen the immune system, brain, and nervous system. These sulfur compounds also act as a heavy metal detoxifier and can help to safely remove mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and lead from the body. Onions can help to treat colds, coughs, bacterial infections, angina, and bronchial spasms.
French Onion Soup
For the topping (optional):
Heat oil in a large pot, if using. Alternatively add a couple tablespoons of water. Add the onions and cook on medium-high heat for 25-35 minutes, until dark and caramelized. Add the garlic, thyme, coconut aminos, vegetable broth or water and bay leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes, then add the arrowroot mixed with water and cook for a further 5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning.
To make the topping, blend the cashews, arrowroot, onion powder, garlic powder, lemon juice, paprika, sea salt and water until smooth. Pour into a small saucepan and whisk on medium-high heat until it gets thick. Remove from heat and set aside.
To serve, ladle the soup into oven-safe bowls. Spoon a few tablespoons of cashew cheese onto a slice of gluten free toast and place on top of the soup. Place in the oven, under the grill and broil for 2-3 minutes until browned. Alternatively, you can broil the cheese-covered toast slices separately on a baking tray and place on top of the soup. Serve immediately.
