Watch: Sage Lemonade
Sage Lemonade
Forge a deep connection to sage. This dense, strong, and powerful herb supports a weakened immune system impaired by toxic, dirty blood. Sage is helpful for mineral deficiencies, providing bone-building macro and trace minerals. Sage is also a profound blood purifier. The fragrance of sage travels all through the body, staying around for a while, making a contribution to healing. Sage combined with the fresh lemon juice in this rejuvenating recipe brings more calcium into weakened bones, and the glucose from raw honey grabs onto sage’s phytochemical compounds and drives them deep into cells that are hungry for glucose.
Sage’s phytochemical compounds are astringent, pungent, and strong. It’s this pungent astringency that helps detoxify and purge toxic waste out of the liver. It also purges waste from deep layers of the derma underneath the skin surface. When someone eats sage, they can smell slightly toxic from their own poisons being pushed through their skin.
Sage Lemonade
Ingredients:
- ½ cup water (purified or spring)
- ½ cup raw honey
- ½ cup loosely packed sage leaves (about 35 to 40 leaves)
- ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2-3 cups cold water (purified or spring)
- 1-2 cups ice cubes
- 4-5 lemon slices, to serve
Directions:
Combine the 1/2 cup of water and raw honey in a small saucepan (ceramic, if possible). Place on medium-high heat and stir until the honey has melted and the mixture begins to simmer. Remove the syrup from the heat, add the sage leaves, and set aside for 1 hour for the sage to steep.
Remove the sage from the syrup. Combine the syrup, lemon juice, and 2 to 3 cups of cold water in a large jug or pitcher. Stir until evenly mixed.
Divide the ice cubes and lemon slices between serving glasses and top with lemonade. Serve immediately.
