If you love green beans, this simple preparation is easy and flavorful, without having to use any butter or even any oil for cooking. Enjoy your Garlic Green Beans as a side to any meal or even as a snack.
Green beans that are steamed until soft and tender have a phytochemical compound that is a soothing agent on the inside of the stomach, small intestinal tract, and colon, allowing a digestive tract that’s highly inflamed to quickly reduce spasms and inflammation.

Add about 2 inches of water to a medium pot with a steamer basket and bring to a boil. Add the green beans into the steamer basket and steam for 4 minutes. Remove the green beans and rinse under cold water. Set aside.
Heat the oil or water in a large ceramic skillet. Add the shallots and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until translucent. Add the garlic, red pepper flakes (if using) and green beans.
