Leafy greens get a little bit of attention in health circles, but for most people, they are not ever given a thought. If anything, the focus is on vegetables and rarely leafy greens. Whichever diet you subscribe to—vegan, paleo, vegetarian, keto or just a standard American diet—if you’re not getting enough leafy greens, the future of your health is in jeopardy. That might seem like a strong statement, but it’s the truth. If you’re not consuming enough raw leafy greens regularly, you will eventually experience some health challenges. Raw leafy greens, such as lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, mâche, watercress, collard greens, purslane and kale, are that critical for our wellbeing.
Source of Elevated Biotics & Enemy To Bad Bacteria
Still undiscovered by research and science, elevated biotics are a type of microorganism found on raw leafy greens that I brought to light in Medical Medium: Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal. Additionally, raw leafy greens sweep the walls of the intestines, gently massaging your duodenum, small intestine, and colon, clearing away bad bacteria and rancid fats and proteins that have gone undigested for years. This build up is part of the reason someone can experience bloating or gastritis—and simply taking a probiotic isn’t going to fix it. Probiotics don’t kill bad bacteria. They don’t kill streptococcus or E.coli. A high quality probiotic definitely has a place in health, but they don’t do even a fraction of the healing work that elevated biotics do. The trace minerals found in leafy greens are prebiotics that feed good bacteria and kill off bad bacteria.
If your stomach feels uncomfortable when you eat raw leafy greens, it means you have colonies of bad bacteria that have been building up in your gut, elevating levels of inflammation, and over sensitizing the nerves of your intestinal lining. This translates to intestinal discomfort whenever you eat anything that’s not soft, smooth and fiberless, like a piece of white bread, an egg or plain chicken. These foods sit in the stomach and become gooey, making you feel you’re digesting them well, when, in truth, you’re actually not digesting them well because these particular foods don’t digest well in general. They are sticky foods and hang around in the intestines.
Due to this sensitivity, when you eat something that isn’t totally soft and smooth and contains fiber, such as lettuce or kale, and you experience some discomfort or symptoms, the leafy green appears to be the problem food. But in reality it’s just because you have sensitive nerves that you feel these foods moving through your intestines. Raw leafy greens and other healing foods are actually helping to clean away the build-up of bad bacteria and rancid fats and proteins that are causing you to be sensitive in the first place. Eating foods like grass fed butter, eggs, and cheese, while soft and smooth feeling, only propagate the bad bacteria causing these issues. Another element is that when you’re stressed, your adrenals purge and flood your body with adrenaline. That adrenaline gets into the intestinal tract and destroys good bacteria and microorganisms in the gut, creating a playground for bad bacteria.
Mineral Salts, Electrolytes, and Vitamins
Leafy greens hold precious and vital mineral salts that are critical for our health. As I share in Life-Changing Foods, “for our bodies to function optimally, we need to have enough mineral salts in our diets. Leafy greens such as spinach provide bioavailable forms of potassium, sodium, and chloride that mean everything when it comes to keeping our systems strong so we can fight off the Unforgiving Four (see Life-Changing Foods to learn about these four factors that cause illness and symptoms today) and other invaders. Leafy greens are also rich in trace mineral salts that contain particularly bioavailable forms of the minerals that the body craves (and that science has not yet discovered).
Mineral salts allow information to travel throughout the body so it can keep itself in balance no matter what’s occurring. They are instrumental in the electricity created by the heart and brain that governs all the other organs in the body. Mineral salts keep the heart pumping and create the neurotransmitters needed to take information from point A to point B in the brain—that is, from neuron to neuron. Mineral salts keep the kidneys and adrenals functioning and create hydrochloric acid in the gut so that your body can break down and assimilate what you eat.
Mineral salts are also temperature-regulating for the entire body; they stop us from overheating and prevent us from getting cold. Without mineral salts, we would be constantly susceptible to dehydration, severe edema, and unproductive diuretic conditions. They are that integral to keeping you alive and well so that you’re in the best place to deal with whatever comes your way.
The sodium cluster salts in celery juice, which are a subgroup of sodium, are a special and powerful example of how healing mineral salts are. Sixteen ounces of celery juice on an empty stomach in the morning specifically targets bad bacteria, destroying it so the dead bad bacteria can then become a food source for good bacteria to feed off of. While celery is an herb, it warrants mentioning here because it is such a powerful healing food. Even if you drink celery juice, you still need your leafy greens.
Leafy greens are critical forms of electrolytes. Vitamin A, B, folic acid, healing alkaloids, disease fighting compounds, and micronutrients for restoring the endocrine system can all be found in leafy greens. These powerful foods provide a unique group of nutrients that feed all organ systems. Without leafy greens, the rest of your diet just won’t be enough to keep you healthy, especially considering the types of viruses and bacteria we face today, which cause symptoms such as headaches, tingles and numbness, body aches and pains, fatigue, brain fog, and many more.
If you worry about getting enough protein, fret no more. Leafy greens have the most bioavailable and assimilable proteins you can find, readily available for your body to take up. Leafy greens help reverse all protein-related diseases, such as gout, kidney disease, kidney stones, gallstones, gallbladder disease, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and heart disease. Protein not breaking down can contribute to these diseases and cause deterioration of the body.
Juicing Leafy Greens
One fantastic way to get the benefits of leafy greens is to juice them. Try juicing some celery and/or cucumber with leafy greens like spinach, kale or romaine, and some apple, lemon and ginger if you like. If you’re wondering why you should juice your greens when your ancestors were simply picking them from the garden and eating them, the answer is simple—we are living in a different world now. The toxins, pollutants, viruses and bacteria that we are up against now are so much worse than they’ve ever been. Bad bacteria are building up in our digestive tracts by the millions. Streptococcus, E.coli, C. diff, staph, and even bad fungus; they sit inside our intestinal tracts, thriving and taking up space, making it harder to absorb the nutrients we need. We also have sluggish and stagnant livers that are overburdened by toxins and pathogens, which means they aren’t functioning optimally. Plus we are loaded with toxic heavy metals and viruses.
Juicing increases the potency and the quantity of the critical nutrients we receive from raw leafy greens and helps to replenish deficiencies. It also takes out some of the work for your digestive system. Freshly made juice with raw leafy greens is essentially pre-digested, making it a liquid infusion for your cells that’s easily absorbed.
If you’re afraid of raw vegetables and salads because you find them irritating to the gut, that probably means you have a hypersensitive intestinal tract. Juicing is a wonderful remedy for anyone with digestive sensitivities. Plus you can also get larger quantities of raw leafy greens into your diet with a juice than if you ate them whole or even blended them (blending is another healing way to include raw leafy greens, such as in the Medical Medium Spinach Soup).
None of this means you shouldn’t eat your greens, but juicing can be a vital key to recovering your health and healing deficiencies.
Cooking and Leafy Greens
Oftentimes people like to cook leafy greens, such as collard greens, spinach, bok choy, swiss chard, and kale. While these greens are incredibly healing in their raw form, it’s best to avoid cooking them. When leafy greens are steamed, sauteed, fried, roasted or cooked in any other way, it alters the naturally occurring oxalic acid (which is not at all harmful when leafy greens are raw) and makes it into a form that becomes less usable by the body. This is one reason leafy greens are best consumed raw.
Raw Leafy Greens
Butter lettuce, arugula, mache, watercress, swiss chard, red and green leaf lettuce, romaine, spinach and kale are all alkalizing greens that make great salads. They can also be added into smoothies. Most people will find spinach is a mild addition to smoothies, sauces, dressings and raw soups.
Most people have never eaten enough raw leafy greens, so they’re already deficient in the mineral salts and nutrients these special foods can provide. Now that you know how important leafy greens are, you can start including plenty of them every day. At a minimum, every adult should consume at least two and a half cups of chopped raw leafy greens per day. For someone with a chronic illness or symptom, much more per day would be helpful to bring back their health, along with the other healing information I share in the Medical Medium book series. A pound a day of leafy greens could be very helpful for someone in this situation. If you can’t manage it every day, take baby steps. Can you have a big green salad or my spinach soup twice a week? Can you add 2 cups of spinach into your favorite fruit smoothie? Can you have a green juice a few times per week? Start there and take it one day at a time.
It’s also important to include certain green powder supplements for their specific healing properties and concentration of nutrients, including spirulina and barley grass juice powder. These two green powders are very special and when both are taken daily, they act as a multi-vitamin and multi-mineral that is helpful for healing and as one powerful step to assist in the prevention of future deficiencies and symptoms. If you’ve looked into the trendy diets of today, you’ve probably come across at least one diet that focuses on getting enough protein and minimizing carbohydrates. The truth is that there are many high protein and low carbohydrate diets that have been trendy over the last few decades. Today’s ketogenic diet is just one of the latest iterations of the high protein, low carb diet trend that started in the 1970s. While some benefits can be gained from any diet that eliminates processed foods like candy, cake, cookies, and fried food, there is only so far a high protein, low carb diet can take you when it comes to healing your body. In truth, this way of eating is as misinformed—and nearly as harmful—as it was when it started decades ago. I know you might have read or heard that high protein and low carbohydrate diets are beneficial, but today I will share why they are problematic, especially for someone with a chronic health condition or symptom.
Following a keto diet is damaging for your body and brain whether you eat an animal-based keto diet or a plant-based keto diet. Some people experience temporary relief or weight loss on a keto diet, but it’s important to understand that these improvements are short-lived. Especially if you suffer from chronic illness, autoimmune disease, neurological conditions or mysterious symptoms, you’ll want to run the other way from anything close to the keto diet.

The entire premise of the keto diet is incorrect to begin with. The diet involves restricting carbohydrate intake while focusing on high protein and fat intake. The theory is that this way of eating causes your body to go into a metabolic state called ketosis, where you efficiently burn fat as an energy source for your body and brain.
The reality is, it’s not possible for your body to go into ketosis if you’re eating any amount or form of sugar whatsoever, including the natural sugars found in most foods. That means anyone eating even a tiny bit of nuts, seeds, avocado, cheese, butter, tomato, or green juices is taking in natural sugar. Unless someone is eating only bacon three times a day (in which case they’d feel terrible and cause even more damage for themselves down the road), they’re not entering ketosis.
The idea that your body can switch to burning fat as fuel is also flawed. We don’t run on fat. We run on glucose, which is sugar. If it were true that our bodies could flip from burning glucose for energy to burning fat for energy, as the keto diet suggests, then it would be impossible for someone who was overweight or obese to starve. If the ketosis theory is correct, you could take away an overweight person’s food completely and they’d continue to live for a long period of time, using their fat as energy. But that’s not how it works. Fat does not convert to usable material for our bodies.
Anyone of any weight can starve or be malnourished without the glucose and nutrition their body needs, that is, without the glucose and nutrients that are bountiful in carbohydrates such as fruits and starchy vegetables, and without the nutrients found in leafy greens and herbs. These are what I call the CCCs, which stands for Critical Clean Carbohydrates. The Old Roots of High Protein, Low Carb Diets
To everyone’s detriment, the world has become anti-sugar and anti-carbohydrate. Shunning fruits and starchy vegetables is taking away people’s ability to heal. How did we get here? The answer requires a quick history lesson and an open mind. In the early 1930s, the meat packing industry and the government joined forces to promote protein. Around this time, instead of going to the farmer and the butcher shop for meat, animal products were becoming industrialized. They were made cheap and available in mass. They were promoted as critical. Monetary interests were put ahead of people’s health.
The idea that protein is more important than anything else was pushed by the partnership of industry and government. This belief was indoctrinated into the conventional medical model and taught in grammar schools. It got drilled into everyone’s thinking and consciousness (and has remained there in the decades since).
Before this colluding effort to push protein, health practitioners were not focused on protein and meat. Protein wasn’t the top choice to sustain people. Alternative practitioners and healers especially believed in fruits, leafy greens, vegetables, herbs, potatoes, nuts and seeds. And although they weren’t focused on protein, the reality is there’s some protein in everything you eat. It’s in spinach, it’s in berries, it’s in bananas. It’s everywhere. Nonetheless, the baseless but calculated decisions to promote heavy protein intake continue to influence and confuse our thinking today. Taking Aim at Fats...and Missing
People who are in the health industry have always been in search of the best diet. In the 1970s, doctors were seeing the rise of heart disease, high blood pressure, liver disease, cholesterol and diabetes. People were cutting out fast food, processed food and greasy foods, yet they still were experiencing all kinds of symptoms and conditions. In the 70s, doctors and the medical system had correctly recognized that too much fat, too many animal products and too much red meat was contributing to disease.
All that fat intake leads to higher fat content in the blood, which leads to a lack of oxygen in the blood. Over time, diminished oxygen levels getting to the heart and brain contributes to problems like strokes and heart attacks. Too much fat in the bloodstream also triggers the adrenal glands to shoot off adrenaline as it tries to clean up your blood to protect you.
Unfortunately, the realization that fat was harmful to our health didn’t translate into an effective response. Instead, grocery shelves filled up with low-fat and fat-free products (which often contained unhealthy, processed ingredients or trans fats). People began eliminating fats that actually had healthy properties, such as coconut oil, avocado, nuts, seeds and olives. And on top of that, people continued to eat lots of animal protein. People didn’t realize that animal protein translates into animal fat, which means they were still eating high fat diets even if they thought they had a “lean cut.” They were still consuming way too much fat—and often even worse types of fat than before—on their low fat diets.
With this flawed approach, any progress that could have been made fell apart. Health professionals realized the low fat diet trend wasn’t working. Eventually, the only thing left to do (because protein remained untouchable due to the agenda and money behind it) was to go after carbohydrates. That was the birth of the keto diet.
Since then, it’s been one version after another of a trendy low carb, high protein diet. The same concept has been repackaged into different names over the decades with just a slight twist to market it as its own unique diet program. One thing that has altered slightly is today’s high protein diets have a little more carbohydrates. Modern versions allow in some leafy greens, a bit of avocado, or a few berries and nuts. That’s because the older versions that allowed none of these healing foods destroyed people’s health. Our bodies and brains need the nutrients, antioxidants, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals that are packed into leafy greens, fruits, berries, vegetables, coconut water and raw honey. Sprinkling these healing foods into today’s high protein, low carb trends makes these diets a little less harmful.
Why Keto Can (Sort of) Work (Temporarily, Sometimes)
When people commit to almost any diet, including a high protein, low carb diet like keto, they get off all the worst of the worst foods. They eliminate fast food, greasy food, processed foods and refined sugar. They clean some things up and eliminate some toxins, which offers their bodies a bit of reprieve.
The true cause of most chronic health conditions and symptoms, including weight gain, are what I call troublemakers. In Liver Rescue I explain more about these troublemakers: viruses, bacteria, toxic heavy metals and man-made chemicals. All of these have been prolific since the Industrial Revolution, and they’re making people sicker than ever at younger and younger ages. Your liver works incredibly hard to capture and filter out troublemakers, but it’s got a big job to do.
Diets that are high in fat and protein are a huge burden to a liver that’s already working overtime to deal with toxins. And think about how fat and sugar usually go together: doughnuts, cakes and cookies; pasta with butter; Asian food with sesame oil or peanut oil; fatty ribs with BBQ sauce; even peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. People don’t consume a lot of sugar alone. Nobody’s on an all-candy diet. Yet sugar has become the scapegoat for health problems in recent years while the fat that goes hand in hand with it is overlooked.
Instead of just removing the unhealthy, refined sugars, the fear went too far and people became afraid of the healthy natural sugars in fruits and starchy vegetables. Now people are taking all sugars out and keeping fats and protein high. Certainly people see some relief upon taking out refined sugar because that’s one troublemaker to the body. For instance, when people remove sugars they’ll see A1C levels might drop or diabetes and prediabetes improve. But it doesn’t fix the problem altogether.
Too much fat in the blood is a big problem. When there’s too much fat in the blood, the body tries to get rid of the sugar. It tries to move sugar into the cells because your cells need sugar to survive. But it can’t accomplish this well because the fat blocks the sugar from entering the cells. So then your body produces more insulin and you end up with insulin resistance. The sugar gets trapped in the bloodstream, insulin resistance begins, A1C levels go up and the liver becomes more sluggish.
So that improvement seen when someone removes sugar is a smoke screen to the real problem. The minute they bring any sugar back, their problems return. That’s because sugar was never the problem in the first place. The real issue for chronic illness, diabetes, blood sugar issues and weight gain is a sluggish, fatty, tired liver that’s overloaded with pathogens and toxins. Another Keto Downfall: Intermittent Fasting
People tend to do intermittent fasting when they’re on a keto diet. This is because they feel better. They feel better because eating fat and protein all day eventually makes you feel terrible, like you’re falling apart. With all that fat clogging the bloodstream and reducing the blood’s oxygen levels, your organs and cells can’t get the oxygen they need. Fasting offers a reprieve compared to the alternative of eating more fat and protein. So people often fast, filling their depleted energy levels with caffeine and coffee and chocolate to get through the day.
Of course, this is harmful too. Dumping caffeine into the body floods your system with adrenaline. Adrenaline is corrosive, and it’s another thing your liver has to sop up and try to filter out. Down the road, people who are eating lots of fat, and caffeine in the meantime, will sadly find themselves getting sicker and sicker.
If someone does temporarily feel better eating an animal-based keto diet with multiple meals a day, then aside from the removal of the processed foods they may have been eating, it will be because of the adrenaline naturally found in the animal foods they are eating which can make someone temporarily feel better. But this isn’t a true healing that’s happening, but a mask to how they’d really feel without that adrenaline. Eventually, the person will start to feel worse and worse.

Now that you know the truth about the keto diet and high protein, low carb diets in general, it’s important to educate yourself on what your body really needs to heal and thrive. In this article, I’ll be sharing the truth about a range of skin conditions, from eczema and psoriasis to keratosis pilaris and others. Some of these skin conditions, such as eczema, are considered to be autoimmune conditions. Before I share more about skin conditions and how celery juice can help, it’s first critical to understand that the autoimmune theory that suggests the body attacks itself is inherently flawed. The truth is that your body never attacks itself. It’s always working for you and loves you unconditionally. There is a real reason for your symptoms and conditions and it’s vitally important to know what that is and why so many health conditions are said to be autoimmune today. The real cause of skin conditions that are labelled as autoimmune is a cocktail of viruses and heavy metals that can be found in your liver. What does this have to do with your skin? Everything.
Eczema and Psoriasis
Put simply, most skin conditions are caused by viruses in the body. Eczema and psoriasis, for example, are the result of a low-grade herpetic viral infection inside the liver. As I share in Medical Medium Celery Juice, “Most commonly, that virus is Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). When the virus feeds off toxic copper and mercury that are also in the liver and then excretes them, that copper turns into a dermatoxin. These dermatoxins build up and exit the liver, eventually finding their way to the lower levels of the dermis. Once there, the body tries to detox them by pushing the dermatoxins up through the skin. This can lead to almost 100 varieties of rashes that are deemed to be eczema or psoriasis or are given different names. In none of these cases is the immune system attacking the skin. That’s an inaccurate explanation that comes out of misunderstanding how eczema and psoriasis really work.” Medical research and science are unaware that this is the true cause of these skin conditions.
It’s not difficult to have a build up of toxic heavy metals in your body for viruses to feed on. Copper, which is partly responsible for skin conditions like eczema, can be passed down through your family line or you can be exposed to it in daily life. Copper pots and pans in restaurants that have been scraped and overused are a common source. So too are copper pipes. Pesticides are another source of toxic copper that build up in the liver from years of eating conventional food products and being exposed to pesticides used on your garden or nearby farms. Mercury is another part of the equation when it comes to psoriasis.
Rosacea and Actinic Keratosis
Rosacea is a particular form of eczema that can appear in many forms on the face and neck. Actinic keratosis is another form of eczema. People with more advanced, aggressive cases of eczema and psoriasis usually have a higher toxic heavy metal load and viral load inside the liver. It’s critical to start removing the toxic heavy metals from your body by including the five foods for safe and effective heavy metal detox daily: cilantro, wild blueberries, barley grass juice powder, spirulina, and Atlantic dulse. Medical research and science are unaware that vitiligo is caused by a virus such as HHV-6 or EBV feeding on aluminum and traces of formaldehyde in the liver and elsewhere in the body, releasing an aluminum-based dermatoxin that, when it enters the skin, destroys the melanin pigments inside skin cells. This is what leads to the white spots and other discolorations that occur for someone living with vitiligo. It is not the skin’s immune system attacking the skin pigment. It is a real illness with a real cause. Aluminum byproduct can float around the bloodstream, waiting to interact with an underlying viral infection, due to something as seemingly minor as your last fluoride treatment at your dentist office (fluoride is an aluminium byproduct). Eventually, science and research will catch on to the effects of viruses and heavy metals on the skin but for now this information is unknown.
This type of rash is caused by EBV feeding off mercury and aluminum, creating a dermatoxin that surfaces to the skin in areas where important lymphatic highways reside. It’s why butterfly-shaped rashes can appear on the face, along with other forms of rashes that can land somebody a diagnosis of lupus. Once again, this is not the body attacking itself. It is a low-grade viral infection. Many people with lupus also get diagnosed separately with EBV because the doctor sees EBV come through in a blood test. Usually, they still won’t associate the virus with the lupus-style rashes. If a lupus patient visits a Lyme doctor, they may end up with a Lyme diagnosis as well—still not realizing that it all traces back to the same source: EBV.

Celery Juice and the Skin
Drinking celery juice can help heal each of these skin conditions and a multitude of others, including acne, prematurely aging skin, and dehydrated skin. Celery juice works such wonders on the skin for three primary reasons: coumarins, vitamin C, and sodium cluster salts.
Coumarins from celery juice travel to the top of the skin and reinvigorate skin cells from the inside out. This results in less skin cell death, less deterioration, and it supports nerves and blood flow. Many people are getting facials or visiting the sauna for the results they could see if celery juice was consistently consumed daily in the way I recommend in Medical Medium Celery Juice.
The vitamin C in celery juice is unique from that found in other foods. This special form restores the liver’s immune system, increasing its capacity to fight off viruses and bacteria. If you’ve struggled with your weight, you may have been told it’s because you have a slow metabolism so you gain unwanted weight easily. First, let’s begin with what metabolism is in the first place. Your Best Ally for Healthy Weight: Your Liver
The true cause of what’s deemed “slow metabolism” is actually a sluggish, stagnant, toxic liver. When someone struggles with excess weight, it’s a great burden, physically and emotionally. Sadly, weight is judged and viewed in such a negative way in this world. When people have a positive or elevated inflammatory marker, C-Reactive Protein (CRP) level, antinuclear antibody (ANA) test, homocysteine level or MTHFR mutation test, it’s caused by these viral byproducts, although you don’t have to test positive for any of these to have viral debris inside your body. Almost everyone today is living with viruses they are unaware of.
* Toxic heavy metals, such as copper, mercury, aluminum, lead, nickel, cadmium, barium and arsenic take up residence in the liver and throughout the body and cause or contribute to all kinds of health conditions and symptoms.
* Synthetic chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides; conventional cleaning products and detergents; colognes, perfumes, scented candles and air fresheners; and petrochemicals, gasoline fumes, solvents and plastics. These toxins bog down the liver further.
* Toxic hormones, such as adrenaline, which is released when we’re under stress, and which is extremely corrosive to our bodies and livers adds further burden to the liver.

When someone is experiencing unwanted weight gain it means their liver has been collecting and storing an abundance of fat cells. Women's reproductive health problems have become rampant. Nine out of 10 women have at least one of these issues: hormone imbalance, endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, cysts, breast density, HPV, infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), infertility, or another. Worse, 10 out of 10 women have one of these hormonal or reproductive issues brewing—a problem is developing that will show up in time.
Somehow, we’ve come to think this is normal and that these problems are just part of being a woman. I can assure you this is not the case—it isn’t something any woman should have to live with or consider normal. For decades, the medical system has blamed hormones for women’s suffering, as though feeling terrible is simply part of being female. When the liver is too overwhelmed with pathogens and toxins, and when we eat a diet high in fat that further bogs the body down, the liver can’t do its job filtering and cleaning and detoxifying. Over a period of years, this critical organ becomes sluggish, fatty, lazy and saturated. That’s when the poisons end up in our bloodstream, our organs and our tissues.

There’s a very important and specific way to consume it that I explain in the book. Here’s how this herbal medicine (yes, celery is an herb) helps women’s health issues:
Breast density. When toxins build up in breast tissue, they create density and cause the connective tissue to lose elasticity and viscosity. When the liver has already reached its maximum capacity of toxins, the lymphatic system becomes a secondary filtration system. The breast is a lymph system. When poisons and toxic heavy metals start to accumulate there, saturation happens quickly, and breast tissue becomes dense.
In addition to toxins, another leading contributor to breast density is the calcium in dairy products. This form of calcium is not a healthy calcium. It’s an aggressive calcium. It becomes fuel for pathogens and bugs, and it’s antagonistic to women’s health. I explain why it’s so important to remove dairy from the diet when trying to heal or look after your health in Thyroid Healing.
Dehydration of breast tissue is another cause of breast density. The toxins that have accumulated in the tissue keep cells from being revitalized. Then if there’s no living water (which is present in abundance in celery juice) to flush out the tissue and keep it healthy and hydrated, more problems mount. In addition to celery juice, you can use other living drinks at different times to stay hydrated, such as lemon or lime water, cucumber juice, melon juice, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Go ahead and add some raw honey to your lemon or lime water if you’d like—honey is antiviral and antipathogenic.
The Epstein Barr virus is responsible for some of the more advanced breast conditions and issues, including some forms of breast cancer. Here again, celery juice comes to the rescue by breaking down the virus over time and flushing it out of your body.
Cysts. Reproductive cysts can develop from a range of toxins, including heavy metals, pesticides, funcidies, herbicides, and viruses like Epstein-Barr. These cysts can be benign or cancerous, depending on the toxins you have and how aggressive the variety of Epstein-Barr (there are more than 60 varieties—the virus has mutated, and some versions are quite old while others are brand new).
Many cysts are lymphatic vessel scar tissue surrounding the reproductive system that became inflamed and hardened, and maybe even calcified, due to viral infection.
Cysts tend to thrive energetically around toxins and around toxic unhealthy cells. You’ll want to follow the “no foods” lists from the Medical Medium books to ensure you’re not supporting the growth of cysts and other health problems, and also try some of the supplements I suggest to support your healing.
Celery juice prevents cysts from thriving and expanding. The sodium cluster salts in celery juice have a saturation rate that allows them to enter hardened cystic material. When they enter, they can find the pathogens within and loosen up and break it down. Celery juice also disperses the scar tissue that can otherwise become keloids and adhesions. It provides further support by feeding and nourishing the healthy cells around the cysts, making those cells stronger so they can stop the growth of cysts that may be growing nearby.
Endometriosis. Celery juice provides undiscovered phytochemical compound inhibitors that stop abnormal tissue growth. And endometriosis is abnormal tissue cells that are growing where they’re not supposed to be growing—spreading and clinging to the bladder, the colon, the pelvic cavity and elsewhere in the body. The inhibitors inside celery juice push back on endometrial tissue that’s trying to develop outside the uterus.
The reason these abnormal cells are growing is because of toxins. Unhealthy cells develop in part because we’re constantly exposed to unhealthy, toxic foreign hormones that are in our food, water and many everyday consumer products. These hormones are in pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and plastics.
If you’re dealing with endometriosis or other women’s health issues, it’s especially important to clean up your household to whatever extent is possible. Get rid of conventional cleaning products and laundry detergents. Stop using conventional perfumes, air fresheners and candles. Note that many shoe and clothing brands spray their products with fungicides—another toxin to avoid.
Fibroids. Fibroids in the uterus have different causes, but unknown to medical research and science, the two main causes are Epstein-Barr virus and streptococcus bacteria. When a virus is the offender, the fibroid has a rounder shape. When bacteria is to blame, it looks like scar tissue or an adhesion and it takes on more of a cashew shape.

If you have fibroids, it’s important to stay completely away from milk, cheese and butter. If you eat animal proteins, be sure it’s very clean and 100 percent grass-fed. Also, avoid pork and bacon, which are high in fat and bog down the immune system. If you’re plant-based, don’t overdo the oils and nuts—they’re also high in fat. Stay away from corn, safflower oil and cottonseed oil.
PCOS. This condition is 100 percent due to Epstein-Barr, which causes fluid-filled cysts and other ovarian injuries. The cluster salts in celery juice break down the Epstein-Barr and lower your viral load.
This truth is not recognized because people get sidetracked focusing on hormones and genes. Certainly genes are amazing in so many ways and science is trying to crack their codes and mysteries, but when it comes to chronic illness, blaming genetics is keeping people distracted. Nobody wants to look into the true cause—Epstein-Barr virus—because it would upset the industries. If the virus was tagged and people actually looked into it, they’d find that the virus is patented and has a history and a serial number. They’d realize the virus goes back to labs in the 1920s and ‘30s and that the virus got out and mutated and is creating all kinds of health problems.
With PCOS it’s critical to stay away from eggs. Unfortunately, many well-meaning health professionals give women with PCOS harmful dietary advice, including to eat a lot of eggs. The eggs help feed the virus that’s responsible for PCOS plus other pathogens, and so these women end up with a bogged down liver and even more cysts. Then due to the overwhelmed liver they gain weight, and the industry blames the PCOS for the weight gain. HPV. This virus is similar to other viruses in the herpetic family, which includes Epstein-Barr and shingles, both of which create many health issues. Sodium cluster salts in celery break down the outer membranes of the HPV virus. If you drink celery juice daily for two or three years solid you will knock down the virus, and do a whole lot of other good for your health at the same time. HPV has no immunity to celery juice.
What doctors think are cells that have been compromised due to HPV that can then lead to cancer is actually cancer caused by Epstein-Barr virus. Hypothyroid and hyperthyroid. Once again, Epstein-Barr virus is the culprit. It’s important to know that a virus is at the root of these illnesses, it is not your immune system attacking itself, as the autoimmune theory holds. Celery juice gets right into the thyroid and kills off Epstein-Barr virus and other pathogens. It’s not going to do it in one glass though, so you need to remain committed to a daily regimen for months and sometimes for a few years. It’s important to drink it in the specific way I share in Medical Medium Celery Juice to receive its benefits.
Menopause symptoms. These result from years of the liver getting sluggish and overloaded with toxins. Hot flashes, night sweats, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances, irritability, anxiety, depression, fatigue, loss of libido and more all occur when the liver has become overburdened with viruses and toxins. It takes decades for this to occur, which is why these symptoms occur for women in their late 30s, 40s or as late as their 50s, and then the symptoms are mistakenly identified as early menopause or perimenopause.
Think about what happens if you had a virus or bacteria in the past. Where does all that byproduct and debris go? Unless your liver is in great shape and you’re doing all the right things (drinking celery juice; eating a clean, low-fat diet; eating primarily fruits, leafy greens and vegetables; avoiding problematic foods); and take the right supplements, these viruses and bacteria will still be causing trouble inside the body, even if you don’t feel the resulting health challenges yet.

Increasing numbers of people, and at younger ages, are getting sicker than ever before. How We Accumulate Toxic Heavy Metals

Metals accumulate in our bodies in a range of ways, which I outline in more detail in Medical Medium Celery Juice:
Medications: They contain various types of toxins, often including copper, aluminum and mercury.
Fluoride: This is an aluminum byproduct, a neurotoxin. It’s highly toxic to the liver, causing liver cell damage. We absorb fluoride from childhood fluoride treatments, public water that’s treated with fluoride and toothpaste that contains it.
Water: If you have your tap water tested, you’ll find that it contains multiple metals, including lead and arsenic. The EPA has deemed small amounts as safe, so the levels in public water supplies are considered safe. Unfortunately, the standard allowed in the water we drink and bathe with is anything but safe.
Air: The air we breathe, polluted by industry, contains toxic heavy metals as well.
Aluminum in cans, foil, baking and sticks of gum: The metal can leach off the product and into your body.
Pots and pans: Using aluminum or copper cookware, or even stainless steel pots and pans can mean you get a shaving of metal along with your meal. I’ve seen this a lot in restaurants, where pots and pans have been scraped to the bone with metal utensils, which means shards of metal have been inadvertently added to meals. I recommend using ceramic cookware whenever possible at home. If you use stainless steel or another metal-based cookware, do your best to avoid scraping your pots and pans.
Old metal fillings: For years the industry fought to protect these metal fillings and insisted the mercury was safe. This is an example of how something people herald as safe can be proven dangerous later. They finally switched to ceramic, but many people still have the old fillings. If you have multiple mercury fillings, I don’t recommend having them all removed at once. Copper pipes: In any home you live or stay in, copper from pipes can leach into the drinking and bathing water.
Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides: These are laden with toxic copper. Everyone has acquired some toxic metals from these commonplace products.
Inherited mercury quicksilver: When people went to the doctor in the 1700s and 1800s, they were pretty much always given quicksilver, regardless of what their health issue was. The tonic was made by heating mercury to create a liquid patients could drink. Yes, believe it or not, people were told to drink mercury for their health!
By the mid 1800s the medical establishment was collapsing and conventional doctors were called quacks because patients were going mad, they were going insane due to the quicksilver. By the turn of the century, people started turning away from those doctors and turning toward herbalists, chiropractors, naturopaths and other healers. The conventional doctors, the “quacks,” as they become known, had to advertise that they no longer used quicksilver in order to eventually get patients back.
The pervasive use of quicksilver had already done plenty of damage, however, and the consequences continue. Toxic heavy metals, including mercury, is passed down intergenerationally. In other words, our forefathers “medicinal tonic” is still poisoning us and the new generations being born today.
These are just some of the ways we are exposed to, inherit and absorb toxic heavy metals. There are more ways we accumulate them, and not just heavy metals but other toxins too. Celery Juice Disarms Toxic Metals
With toxic heavy metals that have been passed down through our bloodlines from thousands of years ago in our bodies plus the metals we’re exposed to on a daily basis, it’s critical to focus on removing these metals safely from the body and brain. Celery juice is a powerful tool to help you do so. You see, toxic heavy metals have a destructive charge to them, which causes them to damage cells throughout your body, including cells in your brain and liver.
Fortunately, celery juice contains something called sodium cluster salts, though this is unknown to research and science. The special properties of these salts diffuse the charge from metals like copper, mercury, aluminum, nickel, cadmium, barium, arsenic and more. The cluster salts render these toxins inactive and make them less aggressive.

The most common metals in the brain are mercury and aluminum, but close runners up include copper, nickel, lead and arsenic. Every individual carries different levels and different combinations of metals.
And remember how these metals carry a destructive charge within the body? When the metals cross paths and interact it can cause anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, mania and schizophrenia. People end up, understandably, needing medications for mood disorders. Yet unfortunately, these medications contain metals too. That doesn’t mean medications shouldn't be used; they can be life-saving in some circumstances. But they are often overused too and that can contribute to the problem.
The Five Heavy Metal Detox Foods
Celery juice is one part of the equation for helping to remove toxic heavy metals. As you may already know from my books and healing information, it's critical to consume the five foods that work synergistically to remove toxic heavy metals daily: fresh cilantro, wild blueberries (or wild blueberry powder), Atlantic dulse, barley grass juice powder and spirulina. The Damaging Duo of Fat and Metals
The destructive combination of fatty deposits and toxic heavy metals has become prolific in our bodies because of current food trends that favor diets that include a lot of fat. Fat makes metals even more dangerous in our bodies. These metals can cause severe mental and physical degeneration, including ALS, Alzheimers and Parkinson's.
There are people on clean paleo diets and people on clean plant-based diets, people who do animal products and people who don’t. And of course there’s many people who eat a Standard American Diet (SAD) with plenty of high fat foods. People in all camps are suffering with chronic illness and mystery symptoms. This is in part because all these diets are still too high in fat. A diet rich in protein for instance will also be rich in fat, and when it comes to healing chronic illness and symptoms, that’s not a good thing. There’s only a tiny minority of people who follow a truly low fat diet. If you have been reading and applying the Medical Medium book series information diligently for a while now, you might be one of the very few who do.
People see some improvement when they move from a Standard American Diet to anything else, including a keto diet, which is very high in fat, because any diet that removes processed foods, fried foods, greasy fast foods, bad sugars and so on. Eliminating bad fats and moving to healthier fats, along with some processed sugars and chemicals that are in a Standard American Diet is a step in the right direction and it can therefore bring some results. But it’s not nearly enough to reverse chronic illness and symptoms long term or to prevent more symptoms and conditions from eventually developing in the future, especially when the continued high fat intake is combined with the toxic modern world we live in.
A Favored Food of Pathogens
Another problem with toxic heavy metals is that both feed pathogens. Those bugs—viruses and bacteria such as shingles, Epstein-Barr, streptococcus and many more—are a major cause of chronic illness, including autoimmune diseases.
