Gut, weight and gallbladder issues are extremely common today and often someone can be suffering from problems in all three of these areas. There’s a reason for this: these health issues are all rooted in the liver. Surprised? You may have heard many different theories about the cause of gut, gallbladder and weight problems, but it’s unlikely you’ve ever heard the liver implicated. That’s because this information hasn’t yet been discovered by medical science and research. Let’s take a closer look at what is happening in the liver to create these issues.
When the liver is weakened, overburdened and sluggish, countless symptoms and conditions can arise, including gut, weight and gallbladder issues. What happens is that over time the liver literally heats up more and more because it’s overwhelmed by pathogens, toxins, adrenaline, and too much fat in the diet. There are hundreds of what I call “Liver Troublemakers” that can burden the liver. I address these in detail in Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease along with how you can bring healing to these health problems.
When the liver gets overheated, it can’t produce bile as well, so that means the bile can’t break down the fats you’re eating, whether they are healthy fats or unhealthy fats and from plant sources or animal sources. Since the bile isn’t doing its job, your hydrochloric acid (HLC) is required to do more work than it’s meant to be doing. (Science and research doesn’t know this yet, but HCL is actually made up from a combination of seven acids, not just one). HCL is how we break down protein, and it can also break down a little fat if needed. But it’s our bile that’s meant to be doing that job.
A Breach in the Gut’s Barrier
Since the bile is weakened, your gastric glands work hard to produce more HCL to take care of what the bile can’t do. But that overproduction means ultimately the HCL starts to burn out and weaken. And that’s bad news because your HCL is a first line of defense for your digestive tract.
When HCL isn’t as strong, pathogens like bacteria or viruses slip through it and can start to proliferate and grow in colonies in your gut. Also, your HCL can’t break down dietary fats as well (that’s not even supposed to be its primary job anyway), so these unprocessed fats get by and start to cling to parts of the intestinal tract and colon.
And guess what loves that fat? Everything that’s harmful to your body: bad microorganisms, fungus and bacteria, c-diff, streptococcus, staph, E. coli and so on. These pathogens grow and move into different parts of the body over time, and that leads to just about every condition under the sun. It also leads to autoimmune disease. Learn more about what’s really happening in autoimmune disease in my books Liver Rescue and Thyroid Healing, including the true undiscovered causes of hundreds of symptoms and illnesses that are not yet understood by medical science and research or have been given an inaccurate and misleading label.
These pathogens then flourish and people end up with any number of health problems and symptoms and possibly a diagnosis, for example of having small intestinal bacteria overgrowth (SIBO), which is actually from the streptococcus bacteria. Science and research doesn’t yet know that it’s streptococcus specifically that causes SIBO, and that it elevates in the gut, pours into the lymphatic system and then ends up nesting under the skin, causing acne. Streptococcus is the unknown cause of all kinds of other problems too, including urinary tract infections, candida overgrowth, sore throats, sinus pain and congestion, styes, and much more. Another example is when people are diagnosed with colitis—that’s actually an undiscovered strain of non-rashing shingles in the intestinal tract lining (there are over 30 varieties of shingles but medical science have only discovered one). It causes inflammation there in the colon. You can look in Liver Rescue for a list of diagnoses and then the steps to take to heal, including the foods to eat and supplement dosages to address each issue.
Science and research really doesn’t know a lot about the gut yet. We have surgeons who can cut things open and cut things out, but the inside of the intestinal tract is just not well understood. I share a lot of undiscovered information about the gut in Liver Rescue. I want to be sure you get the right direction and the answers you need to heal. There is so much that isn’t known by medical and health communities that it’s critical you empower yourself to become an expert on what’s really happening inside your body.
Stress is another hurdle for your health, your liver and your gut. Your adrenals pump out adrenaline when you’re under too much stress and dealing with the ups and downs of life. Waiting more than two to three hours to eat also triggers adrenaline to be released (you can read more about why this happens in Liver Rescue.) Your liver has to soak up all that adrenaline—another burden for this already overworked organ. The adrenaline also gets into the stomach, weakening the gastric glands that produce the HCL.
If you’re walking around with weak or low levels of HCL, you’re going to run into trouble with pathogens. Say you’re eating at a restaurant and the chef has active Epstein-Barr virus (as many people do). A drip of the chef’s sweat might fall onto your dish, and when you eat it, you also get that Epstein-Barr virus. If your liver is weak, your bile is weak, and then your HCL is weak, you won’t be able to fight off the virus. The virus will settle into your gut, where it proceeds to cause health problems. Or you open a door at your doctor’s office and pick up staph. It’s so easy to come across these things in everyday life, which makes it even more important to know how to protect and safeguard yourself so you are equipped to face the pathogens and stress in today’s world.
The bottom line is you want your HCL to be strong, you want your bile to be strong, you want your liver to be strong. That will stop disease from occurring in your gut, whether it’s SIBO, celiac, Crohn’s, colitis and everything else that happens in the intestinal tract—including colon cancer. It’s critical that you take care of your liver so you build up good bile and good HCL, and then everything gets stronger and healthier.
The Gallbladder Takes a Hit
The gallbladder is closely related to all of this, and to the liver’s health in particular. First, I do need to clear the record about liver stones. Learn the full truth about liver stones and other liver myths in Liver Rescue. The liver doesn’t produce stones at all (though the gallbladder does produce gallstones). For one, the liver is too hot to forge a stone. In addition, the bile ducts that come out of the liver are really narrow. A stone could never pass through those ducts—it would always get caught. Globally there would be millions of people needing surgery on their livers all the time. All this talk about liver flushes is simply not true, that’s just not how it works.
What happens is the liver is naturally a hotter organ in the body. But as it becomes increasingly toxic it gets hotter—it’s like pouring gasoline on a fire. The bilirubin and cholesterol in the liver mix with toxins like heavy metals; pesticides; everyday household chemicals, like plug-in air fresheners and conventional cleaning products; pharmaceuticals you use now, used years ago or are consuming through drinking water; smoke from cigarettes or bonfires or gas grills; fungicides or flame retardants on our clothing; alcohol; recreational drugs and much, much more.
We are actually harboring toxins and poisons that go all the way back to the Industrial Revolution—around the 1800s. The poisons from chemicals compounds and toxic heavy metals that people started using in the industrial revolution have been passed down from generation to generation. Some toxic heavy metals, such as mercury, are passed down for as many as 2,000 years.
We are born with these toxins inside of us. And then we collect more. We have all kinds of toxic ingredients that are in pharmaceuticals inside of our bodies. We have all consumed processed foods in our lifetime. We spray our lawns and parks and food with pesticides and herbicides and insecticides. These are more of the Liver Troublemakers I mentioned earlier.
All of this creates a sludge in your hot liver, and it mixes with bilirubin and cholesterol and goes up into the gallbladder. The gallbladder is naturally cooler—it has a thin lining of fluid around it that keeps it cool. As that hot sludge that came from the liver cools, it forms stones in the gallbladder. Read Liver Rescue for more details on how to heal from gallstones or gallbladder infections.
Science and research won’t discover what’s in the sludge—that it’s full of toxic heavy metals, chemicals and other poisons—for another 200 years or so. If an analysis was done on the sludge in gallbladders, it would take so much time and money and energy to sort out the different chemicals. And all the chemical companies would be held responsible—there would be major class action lawsuits about how all these poisons are getting into our bodies and causing health problems.
Many people think they’re eating healthy foods and they’re not eating processed foods and junk food, but they’re still usually on a diet which is hard for the liver. If you’re eating high protein or high fat (which almost everyone is), you’re bogging down the liver and helping pathogens to hide and grow inside the body. Whether your diet is Mediterranean or vegan or paleo or something else, and whether the fats are plant-based or from animal products, almost everyone is eating too much fat for the liver to handle.
A lot of people will begin a new diet and find that it helps them, so then they believe the new diet is the right way to eat. But the thing is most diets are somewhat helpful because they get people off the garbage—the processed foods and doughnuts and fried foods and so on. Most diets have people eating more clean foods and more whole foods. But down the road these diets aren’t going to clear people’s health conditions. The diets tend to deemphasize fruits and include too much fat, which will burden the liver and affect people’s health. Almost everyone needs to lower their fat intake and eat more fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables. My chapter on the High Fat Diet Trend in Liver Rescue covers this problematic diet in detail and how the body responds to it. Thankfully, there are so many ways you can support your liver and your body so that you can alleviate symptoms and conditions.
Behind Weight Gain
Weight gain also comes down to the liver. In truth, it means your liver is sluggish. I have a whole chapter on mystery weight gain and another chapter on sluggish liver in Liver Rescue. While two other factors, the thyroid and the adrenals, can often be involved, weight gain is really about what your liver is up against.
The Liver Troublemakers I list in Liver Rescue and mentioned earlier are what weaken the liver. There are pathogens like viruses (including undiscovered viruses) inside the liver. Then when we’re under stress it means adrenaline pumps through our bodies, and our liver has to absorb that too. Then there are the toxins we’ve inherited and that we take in through daily life. Add a high fat and high protein diet on top of that, which greatly burdens the liver, and you’re on your way to pre-fatty liver or eventually fatty liver and a sluggish, weakened liver. For the full story of how this happens and how to help your liver, you can refer to Liver Rescue.
Ideally, the liver would be strong and uncompromised enough to process fats, toxins, and hormones with ease, neutralizing and getting rid of the toxins altogether while only holding on to high-quality fats and hormones that could be useful to your body later. The reality is that for most people, the liver simply has too much to do and the liver can’t process fat as it’s meant to, so fat cells begin to collect in the liver at a more rapid rate.
The liver becomes so congested internally that fat builds around the outside of it, with pre-fatty and then fatty liver developing. Fat cells then begin to accumulate in the intestinal tract, and eventually, the heart and arteries get saturated. Weight starts to cling on around the waist. Lymph weight is also a key factor that I explain in detail in Liver Rescue.
In one way or another, weight gain is the result of a liver that’s been pushed over the edge. Sometimes the liver gets pushed too far and then it’s not for six months or even a year before the person starts to rapidly gain weight. But with time, as the diet is cleaned up and these Liver Troublemakers are released and removed, the liver will start to heal and the weight will come off.
There’s so much misinformation out there and even harmful health trends everywhere you look. It’s vital that you have these truths in your hands so you can take proper care of yourself and your loved ones.
* The best resource for gallbladder, gut and weight gain issues is Liver Rescue. I can only get at a fraction of what’s in the book in an article. I recommend studying this book so you’ll be empowered with your health and know what’s true and what’s harmful.

If you’re thinking you probably don’t have a fatty liver, you might be surprised. The majority of people in this country have at least some degree of pre-fatty liver, if not a fatty liver. The liver may be in a condition that’s too early to diagnose, but it’s not too early for it to start having a negative effect on your health. When the liver starts getting fatty, it allows pathogens to prosper and prevents toxins from successfully leaving the body; fatty liver is a big problem that plays a role in a lot of health issues. I share the undiscovered truth about pre-fatty and fatty liver in great detail in Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease. The health of your liver is that central to your quality of life and health now and in the future.
Over the years, once your liver starts becoming fatty, everything else starts going slowly down the drain. Your liver has a critical function in keeping you well. This incredible organ grabs toxins and then works to neutralize them and send them out of the body, completing it’s detoxification role. Or, the liver snags the toxins and buries them deep within itself to keep them from floating around in the bloodstream where they can damage other parts of the body—in particular your heart and brain.
However, when the liver starts to become fatty and can’t function as well against the barrage of toxins and pathogens we’re exposed to in modern life, your liver can’t properly protect you anymore. And that’s the beginning of all kinds of health problems. People start to have skin issues later in life, or they’re told something’s out of balance with their hormones, or they begin to have neurological disorders, or they’re diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. People find themselves going from doctor to doctor with all kinds of symptoms and diagnoses—or not—but without any real answers.
I want to help you heal and get out of this misinformation merry-go-round. You don’t have to wait decades for the answers—you can work on healing now with the truths available to you in Liver Rescue. Working to reverse fatty liver is a fundamental place to start so you can learn how to free yourself and your loved ones from chronic illness and symptoms or help prevent them in the future.
It’s all about knowing how the body works, how your blood works and how your liver works (and what’s really inside all three of them). I share undiscovered information about those processes in Liver Rescue along with what I call the “Liver Troublemakers,” which are the hundreds of toxins, pathogens and pollutants we are up against. Science and research are decades away from discovering all of this, but my information is the same as it was decades ago—because my source is the same and the way the body truly works remains the same.
Creating Thicker, Fattier Blood
Part of the reason so many of us have at least a pre-fatty liver is because as we go through life, we eat to survive. We’re under stress. We run into challenging circumstances. Pressure mounts up around us, and all of it keeps us from eating healthier foods. When we have a chronic illness on top of all that, sometimes the best we can do is just get through the day. So people end up eating a doughnut or grabbing a slice of pizza or buying a hot dog from the food truck or eating half a jar of peanut butter. We eat to survive. We eat to comfort ourselves. We eat to satisfy cravings. And over time, it all adds up. Your blood gets full of more and more fat.
What you need to know is that the more fat you have in your blood on a daily basis, whether it comes from animal foods or plant foods, the more likely you are to develop a fatty liver. When the blood has more fat in it, the blood becomes thicker. The thicker the blood, the less oxygen there is for the liver. And when the liver doesn’t have enough oxygen, it suffers and can’t do its job well.
Blood thickness is the liver’s deal breaker. It would be a miracle if you could get a blood fat test at the doctor, just like people can do a quick blood sugar test. It could take medicine forward in leaps and bounds. Because that information about the ratio of fat in the blood has everything to do with the health of the liver, and the health of the liver sets the stage for just about every chronic illness and disease, including cancer.
Not only are high blood fat levels bad for your liver, but they are also bad for the rest of your body too. When blood fat is high, anything can prosper, including pathogens like bacteria and viruses. These pathogens are the true cause of most chronic illness, including so-called autoimmune disease. See Liver Rescue for more details on what’s actually happening in autoimmune disease. The short story is your body does not attack itself and you can heal these illnesses by clearing out what’s really behind these conditions: pathogens, toxins heavy metals, radiation, and all kinds of chemicals and toxins. The real causes of chronic illnesses and symptoms are a mystery to medical communities, so it has never been more important to empower yourself with the truth and take healing into your own hands with this information.
Lately sugar has been under heat as the cause of so much illness. But what people don’t think about when they point the finger at sugar for everything, is that fat and sugar are almost always eaten together. There’s the coffee with milk and sugar. There’s the BBQ sauce with sugar that goes on the fatty pulled pork. There’s the cheese sandwich with the high fat content of the cheese and butter. And there are the cookies and pastries and cakes, all of which have fat and sugar. Or there’s the straight sugar, like a candy cane, that you eat at the end of a festive meal that had a lot of fat.
Certainly people who cut down on added and refined sugars (I’m not talking about the natural sugars in fruit—which are incredible for you) will find their health improves. However, if they don’t also start to lower the fats, they’re unfortunately still going to have health issues down the road.
The Problem with Fat
Right now a lot of people are promoting a high-fat, high-protein diet, but this is a harmful trend. Whether the fat is plant-based and comes from foods like nuts, soy and oils or whether it’s animal-based and comes from eggs, milk, cheese, or chicken—too much fat thickens the blood, ages the body, and is hard on the body and liver.
What’s happening when people are doing these diets that are high-fat, high-protein, no carbohydrate and no fruit is they’re losing a lot of water. If they’re losing weight, that’s what it is—largely water. So people think they’re losing weight effectively, but they’re really just dehydrating themselves, thickening the fat in their blood and starving the brain of the glucose it needs from fruit and carbohydrate-rich vegetables to function well.
As I mentioned earlier, the liver needs oxygen to do its job well (and the thicker the blood, the less oxygen is present). The liver also needs water. So when people do these high-fat, high-protein diets and lose water, it’s another strike against the liver. Your liver needs water to cleanse it and perform the detoxification process. It needs oxygen and water to sort out and deal with the harmful elements: viruses, bacteria, toxic heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and other toxins and chemicals.
The liver also needs oxygen and water to sort through the blood, especially thick blood, and take in the beneficial nutrients: vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and antioxidants (if you eat lots of fruit, you’ll have lots of healthy antioxidants). Your liver helps direct the beneficial nutrients and send the glucose and glycogen to your heart and your brain. You see, your brain and central nervous system run on glucose and glycogen, not fat. These natural sugars keep the brain cool and keep it running well for the long haul. On the other hand, chronic high fat diets atrophy and shrink the brain with time.
Even someone who exercises all the time and doesn’t have a scrap of fat on their body can have thick, fatty blood and can be on their way to a fatty liver. This seemingly healthy person can have a different story going on internally, and with time it can catch up with them. That’s what’s happening with some of these athletes we hear about who are having strokes and heart attacks in their 40s and 50s. Their blood fat levels are so high that the heart has to strain far more than it should to try to pump blood and this thick blood constricts their blood vessels.
Since a majority of the country has fatty liver to some degree, we need to dive into the solutions. When the liver is cared for and treated right you can heal just about any kind of illness. I urge you to read Liver Rescue, and study its undiscovered information so you can get better and prevent future problems too.
Stomach = Not So Smart, Liver = Genius
Your stomach is actually the least intelligent organ in the body. But that’s part of how our bodies are brilliantly designed. You see, if the stomach wasn’t stupid, we’d be in trouble. That’s because throughout human history we’ve needed to be able to eat what we need to eat to survive. We don’t always have a lot of resources, but we need to be able to eat to stay alive. Our stomach is essentially just a pouch that gets marching orders from the brain. If it were an intricate tool that provided guidance or forewarning about what to eat, people might not get the calories they needed to stay alive. The stomach’s dull role gives us a better chance at surviving life on this planet. Don’t mistake this for meaning that the functions the stomach performs are stupid. That couldn’t be further from the truth. The stomach and everything that happens inside it is miraculous and still mostly unknown to science and research.
The liver, on the other hand, is truly genius. It is so smart, it knows if you eat a cheeseburger followed by chocolate cake every year on your birthday. It will document and record that so it can be ready every 365 days to process that meal. Your liver knows if you do Friday night pizza every week, and it tries to get ready and produce the bile needed to digest that cheese and fat and oil.
This is actually one reason people get confused and sometimes think that vegetables bother them. If your liver is preparing bile to process the Friday night pizza and then you switch one week to a big salad with lots of fresh vegetables, it’s a surprise to your liver so the digestion can be a little off. Over time, of course, as you switch to a healthier diet, your liver adjusts accordingly and becomes even healthier and more effective in all its jobs.
Time for Healing
The bottom line is we’ve got to take care of our liver. When we treat our livers right, they can protect us from pretty much every health issue out there. So dig into Liver Rescue, and follow these tips to get started right away:
* Lower your fat intake. Whether it’s paleo, vegan or anything in between, it’s important to lower the fats. You may even want to try eating fat-free for a while if you want to turn your health around quickly. I’ve seen people with Lyme disease and multiple sclerosis (MS) get out of bed by cutting fat and eatings lots of leafy greens and fruits.
* If you’re eating animal products, reduce your intake to once every other day at most. If you’re eating lots of nuts, oils, seeds, or avocados, try reducing them by at least 50% and omitting oil altogether.
* Eat more fruit. Fruit is bursting with antioxidants, which prevent damage from oxidation and harmful elements we take in. The antioxidants in fruit will help clean out the toxins from your blood and increase the amount of oxygen in your bloodstream and in your liver. The natural sugars in fruit will also help your brain and central nervous system run well. But fruit does a lot more than just provide antioxidants. In truth, it is the number one most essential food for health and healing. Check out Liver Rescue to find out more about how different fruits and vegetables can help you recover your health.
* Stay hydrated. Eating fruit and drinking herbal tea, water with lemon or lime and coconut water will give your liver the water it needs to do its job.
* Drink celery juice. Every morning on an empty stomach, drink 16 ounces of straight celery juice. Then wait 15 minutes before eating breakfast. Celery juice is an incredible medicinal tonic that will do wonders for your liver and your health.
I know there’s a lot of misinformation out there, and it’s confusing and difficult to know what’s right. But please know that you don’t have to suffer anymore. I’m sharing this information with you to help you and your loved ones turn your health around and finally heal from the symptoms and conditions that you may be experiencing. It’s your birthright to feel well and live the life you deserve.

If you deal with eczema, psoriasis, acne or other skin problems, you know how frustrating and debilitating these conditions can be and how difficult it can be to find solutions.
One big reason these skin conditions are so tricky is that there are actually more than 100 varieties of eczema and psoriasis, though the medical world doesn’t know this yet. And the truth is, many other skin conditions are actually just different versions of eczema and psoriasis.
Another reason skin issues are so difficult is medical communities don’t know what causes these conditions. I have respect for doctors and dermatologists who are doing their best to help, but until the root of the problem is known, it can’t be fully addressed and lasting healing cannot happen. Read on and I’ll share the true source of these problems as well as the solutions. This is all new information that I share in Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease to give you the opportunity to help your skin—and your body—heal deeply and completely. It’s important to read Liver Rescue for a full explanation and understanding of how to help yourself heal.
The True Cause
Eczema, psoriasis and acne have everything to do with what’s going on in the liver. All skin conditions that aren’t injuries actually stem from the liver. Your liver is so important, and it works so hard for you—more than you can possibly imagine and more than medical science and research are aware. For example, the liver performs over 2000 life-saving chemical functions but only a fraction of these have been discovered. If you suffer from a skin condition of any kind, you definitely want to read Liver Rescue. It gives you the full truth about the cause of various skin conditions and tells you exactly how you can move forward with healing.
Let’s start with a little more information about the liver, which is a miraculous and amazing organ. There are basically three main layers of the liver, or three depths. There’s the dense core deep inside the big lobe, there’s a sub-surface area and then there’s the surface or “skin” of the liver. All three layers can hold pathogens and toxins—and it’s these pathogens and toxins in the liver that are the real cause of skin conditions. What type of skin condition you have simply depends on the types and amount of these pathogens and toxins you have.
Three things have to be present in the liver for eczema and psoriasis to occur. First, there has to be a toxic heavy metal inside the liver. Second, there has to be a pathogen—specifically a virus. And third, the liver has to have a certain combination of the right heavy metals and pathogens in order to cause eczema or psoriasis.
Now here’s the deal: different combinations of toxins and pathogens cause different varieties of eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions. That’s why skin issues manifest so differently in different people and there are over 100 varieties of eczema alone (which hasn’t yet been discovered.) The condition can come and go for some people, but it might stick around just about forever for others. Sometimes it’s confined to just one part of the body, so only the hands or only the legs and knees are affected. It might be patchy or rough or cracked or look like a constellation, depending on the person. It may occur in early childhood, or in the teenage years, or when you’re middle aged, or only when you’re elderly. All these differences are because the “recipe” of toxins and bugs lead to a different outcome and because there are so many varieties of eczema and psoriasis.
How Skin Conditions Develop
Now you know that certain pathogens and toxins in the liver cause skin conditions, but you might be wondering where they came from.
First of all, science and research doesn’t know yet about how many bugs—viruses and bacteria—are present in the liver. The study of viruses (virology) is severely underfunded these days—though it used to receive more attention in the past. People can literally enter the world with viruses already inside their liver that have been passed on as early as conception and during the baby’s development in the womb from their family line. Babies can suffer with eczema from such a young age that eczema is considered to be genetic. Putting the blame for chronic illnesses on genes is a great mistake that I address in my book Thyroid Healing. Eczema, psoriasis, acne and other skin issues are not genetic. It is the pathogens and toxins inherited from the family line that sets someone up to have the same illness that their parents or ancestors did—not their DNA.
Now everybody has some toxic heavy metals in their liver, but copper in particular almost always has to be present to cause eczema and psoriasis. Mercury too can be the toxic heavy metal behind certain kinds of rashes. (Note that science and research don’t yet have any way to detect that these metals are present in the liver). Other toxins that can contribute to skin rashes include pesticides, herbicides, solvents, petroleum products, antibiotics, and other pharmaceuticals inside our livers.
Irritation and Inflammation on the Skin
Medical communities don’t yet know that viruses actually feed on those toxic heavy metals, and as they do, they release and excrete what I call a dermatoxin. This is not the external dermatoxin you might have heard of, such as when a chemical irritates the skin. This is an internally produced dermatoxin. When the liver releases dermatoxins, they move out of the liver and into the blood stream through the hepatic portal vein (the main vein from the liver). The hepatic portal vein brings the dermatoxins to the heart via the blood where they’re circulated around the rest of the body. Your body tries to protect you by getting those poisons out, so it eliminates the dermatoxins by pushing them out through the skin.
The skin is one route for your body to eliminate toxins, just like sweating or going to the bathroom—they are all routes for our body to eliminate toxins, to detoxify. It’s good that those dermatoxins are released because when they instead continually circulate through the bloodstream, they can cause damage to organs like your heart and brain. Pushing the dermatoxins through the skin is your body’s masterful way of protecting your internal organs. Unfortunately, as those dermatoxins exit through the skin, your skin takes the hit. It gets irritated and inflamed, and you experience the miserable and often debilitating symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions. To fully understand this process and how eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and other skin conditions develop and can be healed, it’s best to read the comprehensive explanation in Liver Rescue.
As challenging as skin conditions are, it’s nice to know that they actually show up because your liver is working hard to eliminate the toxins. Unfortunately, this truth is completely opposite of the standard belief in the medical world. The prevailing theory is that these skin conditions are autoimmune diseases, meaning that your immune system is attacking your own tissue. This is simply not true. Your body is loyal to you and always wants to help you heal. If you read Thyroid Healing you’ll learn more about what’s actually happening with “autoimmune disease.”
When people develop really severe cases of eczema and psoriasis, it may be because they have an especially high viral load, or they have an extra high level of copper and/or mercury. Extreme cases always mean the person has a sluggish liver also. The liver is an incredibly amazing workhorse, but if it’s overloaded, its filter essentially becomes clogged and the organ becomes weakened and less effective. When that happens, the blood becomes thick and dirty with a plethora of pathogens and toxins, and the dermatoxin becomes trapped in the bloodstream and lymphatic system and gets stuck under the skin, unable to exit the body. In these situations the dermatoxins bother the skin even more, triggering severe eczema and psoriasis. Again, I highly recommend you read Liver Rescue, because a healthy liver and clean blood are critical for just about every health condition and symptom out there.
More on Viruses
You might be wondering what viruses cause these problems. Epstein-Barr virus is the most prevalent, and certain varieties of Epstein-Barr are usually the cause of eczema and psoriasis. There are actually more than 60 varieties of Epstein-Barr, a truth which is still undiscovered and unknown in medical communities, and you can learn more about the enormous amount of ways its affecting people’s health today in Thyroid Healing. Sometimes the culprit is the shingles virus (of which there are also dozens of undiscovered varieties, many of which don’t produce a rash,) and some other viruses can also learn to feed off copper or mercury to create skin conditions. It’s not difficult to pick up a virus—as easy as trying a sip of someone else’s drink, sharing a kiss, or using a public toilet. And as I’ve already mentioned, we can be born with pathogens from our family line. Thankfully there’s much we can do to kill off pathogens so there’s nothing to be afraid of, but it is important to be aware so you can protect yourself and your loved ones.
More on Toxins and Heavy Metals
There are many ways people accumulate heavy metals too. One is that its passed on from generation to generation, unfortunately. Take DDT. It’s high in the toxic heavy metal copper, and DDT was used prolifically for decades. People sprayed it on the farms, sprayed it in the parks, sprayed in on their gardens and even sprinkled it on their food if you can imagine that. Really! It was sold as a nutritional supplement, and most households had it sitting there in the pantry alongside the salt and pepper and oats and flour. “How about a little DDT to sprinkle on your oatmeal or on top of your scrambled eggs?!” DDT was used so much for so long that it continues to be in our environment, and again, it is passed down at conception and in the womb for generations.
We also take in toxins and copper through modern pesticides and common chemicals as well as seemingly innocent everyday household features like copper pipes. There’s many more ways we are exposed to toxic heavy metals so focusing on effectively and safely removing heavy metals is important for everyone today.
Other Skin Conditions
Other skin conditions have a similar root cause in that they stem from an issue in the liver but each has their own unique factors that cause it. To find out the specific factors that cause other mysterious skin conditions such a seborrhoeic dermatitis, classic dermatitis, actinic keratosis, rosacea, vitiligo, age spots, and more, it’s important to read Liver Rescue.
Antibiotics have been offered for acne for a long time, but the reason why antibiotics have worked is that acne is caused by streptococcus. Medical science and research don’t know this specific bacteria is the true cause of acne. When the practice of using antibiotics for acne started decades ago, it improved acne by killing off the strep, but it also bred stronger strains of strep. Today we deal with those strengthened, mutated strains.
Medical communities also believe there’s a hormonal connection with acne. And there is a connection, but hormones actually have nothing to do with the cause. The reason acne has a connection with various hormonal cycles—adolescence and menstruation, for instance—is that the immune system is strained during those times. The body is focusing its energy on other tasks, like growing, ovulating or menstruating. The lowered immunity gives pathogens the perfect opportunity to strike.
Like other skin conditions, acne has its roots in the liver too. Strep can be stored in the liver and it can hide there and stay dormant until it finds a good opportunity—like when the body is under stress or the immune system is lowered. Then the strep can move into the lymph and into the derma layer of the skin. Your body then creates sebum oil to try and protect itself. The industry mistakenly thinks that oil is a culprit. And yes, it’s true that some topical solutions that clean up the oil can help a bit, but that’s just because cleaning up the excess oil is one thing that helps the appearance of the skin. The oil certainly isn’t the cause.
In Liver Rescue, I share how to kill off strep, and that’s important not just for acne but for many other health conditions too, such as SIBO and other digestive issues, UTIs, styes, thrush, candida, and more.
What You Can Do
It’s possible to heal your skin conditions by starving viruses and bacteria and removing the toxic heavy metals and other toxins that cause these conditions. You can do that through the food and supplements I share in detail in Liver Rescue. The 3:6:9 Liver Rescue Cleanse would be especially helpful. Note that different pathogens have an appetite for different foods, but taking the following steps, along with what you learn in Liver Rescue, will get you started with true healing.
* Eliminate eggs and dairy, including milk, cheese, butter, yogurt and kefir.
* Lower the fat in your diet, because that gives the liver a break so its own immune system can literally rebuild. This means limiting how much animal protein you eat while healing because all animal protein is also high in fat. To understand how fat and protein g hand in hand, read the chapter on this in Liver Rescue. The same goes for plant foods: lower the fat in your diet by reducing or eliminating oils, nuts, soy, seeds, and avocado.
* Significantly increase the amount of fruits, leafy greens and vegetables you eat. For recipe ideas and undiscovered healing information on the foods best for skin conditions, refer to Liver Rescue.
* Drink pure celery juice every morning on an empty stomach.
* Consider the supplements for each of these skin conditions that I list in Liver Rescue. I include dosages you can work with also in the book. Helpful supplements to start with right away include:
B12 with adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin
Vitamin C as Ester C or Liposomal C
More specific supplements for each of the conditions covered are listed in the book.
I know that you’ve been suffering, and I want you to know that this information is here for you. You now have the truth about your skin condition in your hands and can move forward with healing. Read this article over again and listen to the webinar. Know that this information is here so you can finally heal and get your life back. Please keep a light heart and have compassion for yourself. Healing can take time but you are now already on your way.

Why do we bloat? Everyone has experienced bloating at some stage, or if they haven’t yet, it’s very likely they will in the future. And yet despite it being so prevalent, medical science and research know very little about what is really behind bloating. Even the trendiest diets today don’t have accurate answers for bloating. Many of those diets blame lectins, but lectins are not the problem—as I share in my book, Liver Rescue, there are lectins in every single fruit and vegetable. The lectin information that tells you to avoid certain fruits and vegetables is misinformation that you need to know the truth about so you don’t deprive yourself of their healing nutrients. Others blame gluten, and while the unknown truth is that gluten does feed pathogens like Epstein-Barr virus, HSV, shingles, and streptococcus bacteria, which science and research hasn’t yet discovered, the real cause of bloating lies much deeper.
Bloating really stems from an overburdened, toxic or sluggish liver that can then lead to digestive troubles. I cover how this happens in-depth in my book, Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune, but let’s take a look here at what’s happening in your body so you can get started with healing.
A Sluggish Liver
Currently, nine out of ten people have some level of a sluggish liver. As I share in Liver Rescue, it will be ten out of ten people in the future. This means that eventually everyone will experience a symptom or health condition that stems from a compromised, overburdened and toxic liver—whether it’s acne or other skin issues like eczema or vitiligo, digestive issues like bloating, fatigue, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, gallbladder problems, and more. These all have a sluggish or fatty liver at their core.
How does the liver become sluggish? Over our lifetimes we are exposed to a countless number of toxins and pathogens, what I call “Liver Troublemakers.” In Liver Rescue, I share a list of hundreds of these Liver Troublemakers and how we get exposed to them. We are also born with Liver Troublemakers already sitting inside our livers. This is not because of genetics; it’s because at conception and when we are in the womb we inherit toxins and pathogens carried in our family line that have been passed down from one generation to the next. That’s why some babies are born with or can quickly develop issues like jaundice, PANDAS, eczema, digestive troubles, and more.
One of the major causes of a weakened liver is the presence of toxic heavy metals, like mercury, lead, cadmium, or copper in your system, which are one of the groups of Liver Troublemakers. Environmental chemicals and toxins also play a role in weakening the liver. Detergents, colognes, gasoline, insecticides, pesticides, and preservatives are all examples of toxins that we are constantly surrounded by. It would be impossible to avoid all of these on a regular basis, but what we can do is eat the right foods to protect our livers and keep them strong and healthy. Another reason is because of pathogens and their byproduct can also move from the liver into the intestines. These can all bleed from the liver when it’s overburdened and sluggish and coat the lining of the small intestine and colon, causing more bloating as it hampers any good bacteria that are present and feeds bad bacteria and other unproductive microorganisms.
Another factor that impedes the liver is a high fat diet, which are the same as high protein diets whether they are based on animal foods or plant foods. In both cases, the high fat content of the diet leads to bile production being inhibited, which prevents food from being broken down fully. This alone can lead to bloating. I discuss exactly how this process occurs and why high fat and high protein diets can cause this in Liver Rescue.
Even more important than bile production is immune support, one of the liver’s thousands of chemical functions. Medical science and research are unaware that the liver has its own immune system of miraculous fighter and protector cells to keep you as safe and healthy for as long as possible against the onslaught of toxins and pathogens we face and the high fat foods almost everyone eats. When your liver is stressed, which by now you know is the case in nine out of ten people and soon to be every single person, the liver will divert its energy to the immune system and bile production will continue to suffer. And, when bile suffers, so does the stomach’s production of hydrochloric acid, preventing the small intestines from absorbing nutrients. Next, proteins and fats begin to rot and go rancid in your gut. This gut rot also can result in bloating.
Due to this low bile and hydrochloric acid production, the undigested food debris composed particularly of fat and protein ultimately feeds the pathogens as well, further coating the intestinal tract and creating even more symptoms. A condition I call ammonia permeability—which medical communities confuse with leaky gut—develops, with food decomposing in your intestinal tract and producing ammonia gas that both causes even more expansion of the intestinal tract (creating bloating, cramping, discomfort, and distension) and also rises up the gut into your stomach, contributing to further diminishment of hydrochloric acid and even the reserves in the stomach glands and tissue of the components that make hydrochloric acid.
In addition to the Liver Troublemakers and a high fat and high protein diet, an increase of adrenaline in the body also weakens bile. Added adrenaline could come from drinking too much coffee, eating a high fat diet, traumatic or emotional events in your life, or simply a very busy or high-stress lifestyle that keeps your body in a fight or flight response. Almost everyone today is dealing with the impact of excess adrenaline due to the speed and nature of our lives here on earth today. To properly understand how adrenaline works and how to support your adrenals, liver and digestive system, please refer to Liver Rescue.
The Do’s and Don'ts
If you are trying to heal your liver and bloating, it’s important to reduce the amount of high-fat, high-protein foods you eat. Whether you eat a plant based or or animal foods diet, too much fat and protein will only result in more bloating and digestive issues eventually.
I know that high protein and high fat diets are the popular trend right now, but unfortunately these diets are misleading people. While their benefit is that they remove processed foods from the diet and can give some results for someone who was eating worse foods before, unfortunately these diets are not the answer for chronic illness and symptoms long term. Whey protein, pea protein, coconut oil, milk, yogurt, peanut butter and almond butter—all of these additions to your morning smoothies will aggravate bloating.
Instead, try the Liver Rescue Smoothie in Liver Rescue or the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie, which contains the five critical ingredients for safe and effective heavy metal removal: wild blueberries, spirulina, barley grass juice powder, Atlantic dulse, and cilantro. Remember, low levels of bile results in your body’s inability to breakdown foods, especially more fats and proteins, whether you are eating too many avocados or too much grass-fed beef. Vegans and meat-eaters alike need to lower their fat intake. And as I have said before, high-protein equals high-fat. Eggs and dairy products will feed any dormant viruses in your liver, further weakening your bile.
If you can, consider a temporary plant-based diet while you are trying to get rid of bloating. But do not be fooled by trends like nutritional yeast, which saturates your liver in glutamic acid, or apple cider vinegar, which may be good for your skin topically, but pickles your organs internally. The Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Cleanse in Liver Rescue is an ideal way to jumpstart your healing from bloating and any other symptom or condition.
The best foods to incorporate into your daily routine are fresh leafy greens that are rich in essential mineral salts. Butter leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, and spinach are all excellent options. Sprouts, kale, cucumbers, zucchini, broccoli, and asparagus are all healing foods for bloating. Fruits are incredible for healing bloating. Papaya, bananas, figs, pears, kiwi, apples, and apricots are excellent choices for bloating. Really, the options are endless when you consider the variety of fruits and vegetables out there—and you can eat all you want.
As you probably know from my other radio episodes and books, straight celery juice has amazing healing properties. Try drinking 16 ounces of celery juice on an empty stomach every morning. The key is to be consistent. Bloating is not going to go away overnight, but these foods are going to help build up the strength of your liver. Keep in mind that your liver has a lot of healing to do and it takes time for bile reserves to build back up. Everyone is different but you some may also notice that as they begin to include straight celery juice and more fruits, leafy greens and vegetables into their diet, it may seem like their bloating is worse.
If this happens and it’s not because of other foods you are still eating that are too high in fat or protein or are unhealthy foods, it’s due to your body pushing out toxins, killing off viruses and bacteria, and restoring your bile and hydrochloric acid and doing its other amazing healing work. Bloating can stick around for a while because as you start to heal you are giving your liver an opportunity to rid itself of toxins that have been long buried. And everyone’s liver is different, so healing can take a different amount of time for different people. Most people eliminate their bloating symptoms right away when consuming straight celery juice on an empty stomach every day, but for some it may take longer.
Digestive problems, including bloating, can all be traced back to the liver. If you are interested in learning more, check out my book, Liver Rescue, for a complete understanding of what’s happening in your body and exactly how you can heal. As I have shared, undigested food and bloating are signs that the liver is overburdened, and a liver under stress will not only affect bile production, but also cause toxins to leak out into the intestines for reabsorption. Increased toxins in the intestines then results in conditions like SIBO from an overgrowth of the streptococcus bacteria. This chain reaction only weakens the liver and bile further, causing more bloating. The only way to truly resolve bloating long term is to learn these truths about what’s really behind your bloating and take the correct steps to heal it. Now that you have the truth in your hands, it is not something you have to get used to living with forever.

If you’ve been diagnosed with vitiligo, you have most likely been told you have an autoimmune disorder and that not much can be done to heal it. According to this theory, your body is destroying its melanin-producing cells, responsible for the pigment of your skin. But this is exactly that: a theory. It’s not the truth and it’s not why you or someone you know has vitiligo. The entire autoimmune theory that your body attacks itself is incorrect. It’s critical to understand this if you have vitiligo or any other condition that you’ve been told is autoimmune. Unfortunately, this false belief is at the foundation of medical thinking, leaving countless people feeling like they are living in a body that has turned against them.
The truth is that your body never turns against you. There’s a very real cause of so-called autoimmune conditions like vitiligo, eczema, Hashimoto’s disease, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and others, and these are real illnesses. And once you know the real cause, which I share in Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease, you can then apply the information that can help you heal.
If it’s not autoimmune, what is it?
The answer to this question has three parts. Primarily, vitiligo and many other autoimmune diseases are caused by an epidemic of viruses medical science and research haven’t yet discovered. It’s specific viruses that are to blame for so many chronic symptoms and illnesses. In the case of vitiligo, it can be HHV-6 or the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Recently, medical science has conducted studies that prove that EBV is linked to vitiligo, but their findings are deceiving. In claiming that a link exists, they deny that EBV is actually the cause, not just linked. Instead, they still blame vitiligo on genetics and continue to diagnose vitiligo as an autoimmune condition. Neither of which are true. Putting the focus on genetics and autoimmune shifts the attention away from healing and toward the promotion of an onslaught of unnecessary drugs and treatments that won’t address the root cause. In reality, the connection between EBV and vitiligo is more than a mere affiliation.
Another aspect of this condition, where medical science is a bit closer to the truth, is the role of industrial chemicals. However, while medical research shows that vitiligo can be triggered by exposure to industrial chemicals, they are not clear on why this is. For example, if you work in a factory that exposes you to industrial chemicals, chances are that you or someone else in that factory has been diagnosed with vitiligo. But the issue of industrial chemicals is more than one of exposure. These chemicals and toxins are deep within the body of anyone diagnosed with vitiligo and usually were inside the body in the womb and at birth because they are passed down from generation to generation, which is what gives the illusion that this condition is the fault of damaged or defective genes. You can then get even more exposure over your lifetime. Heavy metals present in the body can include mercury, lead, nickel, steel, and others, but when it comes to vitiligo, aluminum is the main culprit followed by copper. It can also be formaldehyde that’s to blame.
The third component in this equation is oxidation. In order for aluminum or copper to cause vitiligo, it needs to be oxidized. How exactly does oxidation occur? As these metals sit in the liver they interact and react to other metals. In combination with a high fat diet, which burdens the liver, heavy metals fill with air and expand. Once aluminum and other heavy metals are oxidized, they corrode and burst. If even a low-grade virus is present in the body, this explosion of microscopic pieces of the aluminum or copper feeds the virus. Medical science and research don’t yet know that viruses actually eat and that these toxic heavy metals are some of their very favorite foods.
When HHV-6, EBV and other viruses sit in the liver and feed off of heavy metals such as aluminum, they release a poison that travels to the skin. This methyl-aluminum poison creates a dermatoxin that destroys the melanin or pigment-producing cells in your body. The result is vitiligo. It’s important to note that these dermatoxins and internally created, not external dermatoxins such as chemicals that irritate the skin. Dermatoxins can travel to other destinations in the body as well, but commonly they make their way to the face or knees through the lymphatic system. Each person’s lifestyle—how much they exercise, their diet, and environment—also determines where dermatoxins travel and how they affect the body. None of this has been discovered by science and research yet. I share the truth about other skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis, rosacea, mystery rashes, and much more in Liver Rescue, along with how to heal vitiligo and these other skin conditions.
The Role of Stress
Stress often takes the blame for illnesses across the board, but there’s more to understand about what’s really happening in the body. Stress weakens the immune system, which allows viruses to gain a stronger foothold in the body. Stress also triggers excess adrenaline to be released in the body and adrenaline is another favored food of viruses. Stress can play a part in triggering countless conditions, but if you are suffering from vitiligo you also need to rid your body of aluminum, copper and formaldehyde, kill off the viruses in your liver, and support your liver by reducing fat in your diet and applying the healing steps I share in Liver Rescue. In short, while stress is indeed a trigger and should be avoided if possible, it is more important to know why it is a trigger and what you can do to heal. For help lowering your stress levels, check out Medical Medium, which includes several healing meditations.
How to Heal
At this point, you are probably asking yourself what your options are. To get aluminum, copper and formaldehyde out of the liver, it’s important to lower your fat intake, whether you are a meat-eater or plant-based. My Liver Rescue 3.6.9 Cleanse and Liver Rescue Morning in Liver Rescue are perfect supports, along with the healing foods and supplements (with dosages) I share there.
It’s also important to remove the harmful foods I list in Liver Rescue. If you are familiar with my books, you probably guessed correctly that eggs and dairy products also need to be cut out of your diet. These foods feed the viruses that cause a myriad of conditions, including vitiligo. Cutting out these foods and lowering your fat intake will slow down the oxidation process and help eradicate viruses from the body—step one of healing—but a second significant step to healing vitiligo is removing the aluminum or copper. You can remove toxic heavy metals from the liver by drinking my Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie daily,. And of course, celery juice is extremely helpful. The mineral salts in celery juice alone can help tremendously in dissolving the membrane of a virus such as EBV or HHV-6, while the nutrients in my Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie will get into the liver, bind to aluminum and copper, and help remove it from the body. The Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie is also helpful for removing formaldehyde along with the other steps I share in Liver Rescue to detoxify the liver.
Lastly, it’s critical to bring in the healing foods and supplements that will kill off the virus. You can refer to Liver Rescue and Thyroid Healing for more information on how to do this.
The first step to take for healing vitiligo is changing your belief that your body is attacking itself. Now that you know the truth, you can take the steps to rid heavy metals and viruses from your body and heal from vitiligo. Your body hasn’t turned against you. Healing is possible. Using the information shared in Liver Rescue, you can now support your body to heal.

When it comes to chronic illness and symptoms, it’s essential to work on healing your liver. It’s heartbreaking how many people today are getting sick, and they’re trying so many things but they just aren’t getting better. Unfortunately, both medical and alternative health communities are unaware of the true causes of chronic illnesses and symptoms and how central the health of the liver is to a huge number of illnesses and symptoms.
I don’t want you to have to wait decades for science and research to figure out the answers, so I have shared the advanced information needed for healing in Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease so you can start healing now. Let’s look at a little of what you can do for your liver here.
Your liver is an amazing, powerful and hardworking organ. When it’s not doing well—when you have sluggish liver or fatty liver or its bogged down by toxins or too much protein or fat in the diet—that’s a big part of the root of just about every condition and symptom under the sun, including: acne, adrenal problems, autoimmune disorders, brain fog, chemical food sensitivities, diabetes, constipation, dark circles under the eyes, emotional issues, fatigue, gallstones, gout, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, hormone problems, IBS, inflammation, body pain, jaundice, aging, liver cancer, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, insomnia, cysts, methylation problems, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), SIBO, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, varicose veins and weight gain.
Sadly, even young people today—kids in their teens and young adults in their 20s—are coming down with these chronic illnesses and symptoms, and they’re being told that their body is attacking itself, that they have an autoimmune disease. These young people are going through a horrible shock and then an awakening to the sobering truth that nobody really knows the true causes of their condition and how to make them well again. Being chronically ill, especially at a young age, can break your spirit. But it doesn’t have to be this way—there are answers for you here and you can heal.
I can only scratch the surface in this article about how you can get started on healing these conditions. So check out Liver Rescue for details on how to improve specific health issues. The book is packed full of undiscovered healing and medical information that won’t be discovered for decades.
The beginning of the liver story isn’t too pretty. Basically, we’re all born with livers that are already weakened, because a lot of toxins are actually passed down the family line. We inherit them at conception and in the womb. And then our livers are barraged by a wide range of toxins throughout the entire course of our lives because of the imperfect modern world we live in.
Now, our livers are designed to deal with some of that. We were made with this incredible organ for a reason. The way it works is the liver contains three levels, or three depths. When you’re exposed to toxins, your liver works hard to snatch them up and capture them away within the depths of the liver to protect you. Ideally, your liver will then also neutralize the toxins, detoxify them and remove them from your body through its various elimination channels. But the problems come when your liver is flooded or bogged down with too many toxins and it can’t keep you safe from all of them, despite it’s miraculous and constant efforts to do so.
Troublemakers for Your Liver
Let’s run through some of the toxins our livers are inundated with. But first, I’ll warn you that this list could seem a little overwhelming, especially since you can’t run from all of this or completely avoid all of these toxins. Just remember that you can work to clear these troublemakers and heal your liver and get your quality of life back. I’m going to tell you how. But again, for more details, specific healing steps and dosages, and for a complete list of what I call the “Liver Troublemakers,” you’ll want to get a copy of Liver Rescue. Please note that the troublemakers listed below are only a handful of the Liver Troublemakers listed in Liver Rescue. Refer to the chapter on this topic in Liver Rescue for a complete list.
Petrochemicals and plastics. We inhale gas exhaust all the time, including when we pump our gas or drive behind a diesel truck or walk by an idling school bus. We absorb it into our bloodstream when we use kerosene, lighter fluid, gas grills and gas stoves. To understand where and how the liver stores these toxins, and why so many people’s livers aren’t given the opportunity to safely remove them from the body at a later date, please refer to Liver Rescue.
Chemical solvents and nanotechnology. These are everywhere, including in cleaning agents, carpeting agents, paint thinner, paint lacquer, new furniture and nanotechnology.
Household chemicals. These are pervasive in air fresheners, colognes, perfume, hairspray, scented candles, hair dye, conventional makeup, conventional cleaning products, conventional laundry detergent and conventional dryer sheets.
Smoke. Any kind of smoke exposure goes to the liver, whether that’s the smoke from the largely unknown agricultural practice of burning masses of plastic or from a forest fire or from a cigarette.
Chlorine. Any time you swim in a chlorinated pool, you’re absorbing some chlorine through your skin.
Stress hormones. When we’re under stress, adrenaline pumps into the liver, which puts us at risk for countless symptoms and conditions including liver disease, breaks down our bile reserves and breaks down hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Even in young people, livers today are being bombarded with the effects of excess adrenaline.
Viruses and bacteria. There are all kinds of viruses and bacteria in our modern world, including many undiscovered strains of Epstein-Barr, shingles, herpes and streptococcus. I have revealed these different strains in my books. People can inherit some of these pathogens through their family line. They can also be exposed in many other ways, like when they take a sip of a friend’s water or touch a dirty doorknob and later rub their eyes.
Toxic heavy metals. People can also inherit metals like lead, mercury, aluminum, nickel, barium, arsenic and copper. And it’s all too easy to be exposed to these metals in daily life. Take the heavy metal copper for instance. When the local park is being sprayed with pesticides (many of which contain copper and mercury) and you breathe that in, or when you drink water that ran through a copper pipe, you’re absorbing the metal. This industrial copper is different to the trace mineral copper which can be found in healthy foods.
Pharmaceuticals. Medications you’ve taken over the years can be harbored in the liver. And sadly, our water supply is filled with them: antibiotics, antidepressants, anti-inflammatory medications, biologics, immunosuppressant drugs, prescription amphetamines, statins, blood pressure medication, hormone medication, thyroid medication, steroids and even contraceptives. (This is why a high-quality water filter is essential, by the way. For recommendations for water filters and other home and kitchen tools, check out my website).
This means that even if you’ve never taken medications, you’ll still have some stored in your liver from drinking tap water at some time in your life. It’s OK if you need to take certain meditations, but you can still clear out the past medications from your system so your liver can heal and handle new exposure more effectively.
There are also ways of eating and some foods that are simply hard on the liver. Let’s take a look at some of these now:
Eggs. They keep pathogens that thrive inside the liver alive. Eggs are what was used in labs to raise viruses like Epstein-Barr. Viruses feed off eggs. It doesn’t matter whether those eggs are organic and pasture-raised (although certainly if you are going to eat eggs, that’s the kind of eggs you want to be eating). Nonetheless, eggs are eggs, and unfortunately they allow viruses to thrive. The undiscovered truth is that viruses are the actual root cause of many so-called autoimmune diseases and other health conditions. To understand the root cause of different symptoms and conditions, check out Liver Rescue.
Dairy. Cheese, milk and other dairy products will also feed viruses and be very hard on your liver.
Vinegar. Yes, even apple cider vinegar (which is certainly the best kind of vinegar) can be harmful to your liver (it basically pickles it!) when you consume too much. For more on apple cider vinegar and other misinformed health trends popular today, again, see Liver Rescue.
Excessive salt. Bad salts or excessive salt is hard on your liver, and if you combine the salt with vinegar you also create a pickling action in your organ.
Pork products. Very high in fat so they are extremely hard on the liver
To read a full list of the troublemaking foods to avoid, you can read the chapter on this topic in Liver Rescue.
I know it can seem overwhelming to consider all these problematic Liver Troublemakers. But the good news is that you now have answers and the information you need to heal. And there’s so much you can do to heal and get your life back. Let’s focus now on some powerful foods, herbs and supplements that will help your liver heal and work well into the future.
B12 with the right blend of adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin. The right kind of B12 can get a person recovering and on a path of starting to heal. As with all supplements, some are junk and harmful, and some are amazing. I have the highest quality options on my website to help you know what’s really good, so check that out before your make a purchase. I don’t sell supplements; it’s simply a list of the products I know work.
Apples. They’re an incredible food that provides a specific kind of hydration--a living water--to the liver. Your liver needs certain kinds of hydration that can only come from fruit, and apples are really important for this.
Apricots. Dried or fresh, the contain helpful phytochemical compounds.
Arugula. Causes a gentle purging of the liver.
Asparagus. Provides a type of flavonoid that’s rare. It soothes the liver, and this flavonoid helps calm a sick liver, purges the liver and strengthens the liver’s immune system.
Atlantic dulse and kelp. These are really good for the liver. Dulse is an ingredient in the Medical Medium heavy metal detox smoothie for a reason.
Bananas. They provide a type of glucose for the liver that’s incredible, and they are an antiviral, anti-yeast, antibacterial, and antifungal food.
Berries. They’re a medicine chest all on their own—they’re incredible.
Broccoli. It contains amazing sulfur compounds that stop bacteria. They’re great for clearing out streptococcus that’s in the liver and lymphatic system, which by the way is what causes acne.
Brussels sprouts. It has the same powerful compounds as broccoli.
Celery. I can’t say enough about celery. Spirit and I introduced celery juice to the world decades ago—and it’s all the rage now, rightly so!—for good reason. For one, it contains undiscovered subgroups of mineral salts (called cluster salts) that strip the membranes off of viruses so they die and can be flushed out of the body. This truth won’t be discovered by research and science for another 50 years or so. Celery also restores the liver’s bile production, so hydrochloric acid builds back up in the stomach. Celery purges the liver of toxins, and it also helps dissolve gallstones. I could go on and on about how powerful it is for healing your liver and your health.
Tomatoes. They harness critical micronutrients, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals that literally stop liver illnesses of all kinds. Tomatoes help the liver detoxify red blood cells safely, and they heal the liver.
There are many other powerful liver supporting foods that I cover in Liver Rescue and how their undiscovered healing properties are helpful.
Other herbs and supplements that will help detoxify and heal the liver include:
Barley grass juice powder
Ginger (try juicing ginger or making ginger water)
Rose hip tea
Wild blueberry powder
All of those foods, supplements and herbs are options for you, and you can do them all periodically or change them up. But again, see Liver Rescue for more detail and guidance you can use to heal. In the book, I explain what each food, herb or supplement does. I also share the specific dosages that are helpful for particular health issues.
For instance, there’s sections in Liver Rescue where I talk about the real cause and how to heal all of the following: acne, adrenal problems, autoimmune disorders, brain fog, chemical food sensitivities, diabetes, constipation, dark circles under eyes, emotional problems, energy issues, fatigue, sluggish liver, gallstones, gout, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, hormones problems, IBS, inflammation throughout the body, pain, jaundice, aging, liver cancer, insomnia, cysts, methylation problems, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), SIBO, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, varicose veins, weight gain and more.
It’s critical to take care of your liver, and it’s critical to know what to do to get the toxins out from deep in the center of the liver and all its layers. I want to support you in your healing, and I know that you can begin moving forward with healing now you have the truths and tools I share here and in Liver Rescue in your hands.

If you’ve ever researched different ways to heal symptoms or illnesses, tried various diets or health programs, looked for ways to lose weight or detox, or sought guidance from one or more health practitioners, you will know that there’s a seemingly endless supply of information and health trends out there. Not only is this wealth of information confusing to wade through, unfortunately most of it is also misguided and incorrect. And when you believe and apply information that isn’t true to how the body really works because so much of how the body functions is still undiscovered by science and research, it can be harmful to you and your loved ones and lead you further away from the truth.
When it comes to the liver information and trends out there, this is exactly what’s happening for so many. You might hear about a liver cleanse, liver flush, certain supplement or foods, a health or diet program, or theoretical information that presents itself as a fact, and believe it to be true because a well-meaning health practitioner suggested it or because it’s trendy and popular . Sadly, so much of the information and recommendations that are trendy today are actually detrimental to your health. I devoted two chapters of my new book, Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease, to debunking common liver myths for this reason. It’s critical that you know the truth about what’s helpful and what’s harmful to your health and understand the liver’s real responsibilities and how it needs to be supported so you can make the best decisions for you and your loved ones. Below I will cover a few common liver myths. In Liver Rescue, I debunk these myths in much more detail, along with many others that are vital to understand for the sake of your health now and in the future.
Complete Cell Regeneration Every Seven Years
There’s a lot of different theories about how long it takes for all the cells of the body to regenerate. One common belief is that it takes seven years for the entire body to renew. This isn’t true. Many factors play a role in cell regeneration: nutrients, stress, pathogens, deficiencies, inherited and newly encountered toxins such as heavy metals, the environmental challenges someone’s living with, even the emotional environmental challenges someone’s living with and the resources available to that person. They can all influence the speed with which cells rejuvenate and it means that the exact timing of how many years it takes for cells to replace themselves can’t be ascertained by medical research and science, because there is no set timeline and it’s different for everyone.
The liver, however, is different. First of all, not all the cells of the liver can regenerate. Some severely damaged and scarred tissue in the liver generally can’t be renewed. At the same time, the liver has the ability to renew the parts of the liver that are in working order more profoundly than any other part of the body can. The liver is incredibly responsible and steady—it is the rock of the body. It ever so responsibly renews the working parts of the liver on a specific schedule that I share in Liver Rescue in order to sustain life. Medical science and research have no understanding or awareness that the liver operates on this specific time clock. I also share in Liver Rescue how the liver uses intelligence it holds from thousands of years ago (yes, you read that right - even if you’re only 20 or 40 years old this is still true) and how you can help your liver maximize its incredible renewal timing and functions so you can grow older with greater health.
Liver flushes (and liver and gallbladder flushes) can seem like a smart idea. It sounds like flushing the liver would be helpful, doesn’t it? But there’s two major problems with these flushes that make them a bad idea. Firstly, the liver doesn’t like to be pushed or forced. The liver is extremely intelligent and it knows how to perform its over 2000 undiscovered functions perfectly. All it needs from us is the right loving support—and that does not come with forcing it in the way our human minds might think is best. In Liver Rescue, I share these undiscovered functions of the liver and exactly how you can support your liver in the way it likes, deserves and needs. Our livers also have a longer memory than us. They know precisely the kinds and quantities of pathogens, toxins, toxic heavy metals, and harmful foods that we are up against, including those we were born into this world with from our family line (this is not our genetics but what we have inherited from previous generations at conception and in the womb.)
While we may think it’s best to just get all the toxins out at once in a flush, the liver knows better. We might think following a seemingly well designed flush protocol will result in all the toxins ending up in the toilet. But the liver, with its infinite wisdom and understanding of what’s going on inside of your body that you can’t see or know, knows that‘s not how it works. In truth, when someone does a liver flush that pushes and forces the liver, the bloodstream is where those toxins end up. The liver knows, even though we’re not aware, that all these poisons entering the blood at once put the heart and brain under direct threat. An onslaught of toxic sludge and debris headed for our heart valves and ventricles is not what the liver wants for you. It could cause erratic heartbeats, stress on the heart, inflammation, elevated adrenaline, and electrical confusion of the heart, all while we’re busy looking for stones in the toilet. In Liver rescue, I also share the truth about what these “stones” really are. Fortunately, there’s a better and more effective way to cleanse the liver that actually supports and helps the liver. That’s what I share in Liver Rescue.
Secondly, the flushes that are popular today also use ingredients that only make the liver work harder, like olive oil or apple cider vinegar. The high fat content of the olive oil is extremely hard on the liver and apple cider vinegar, while its the best vinegar available, is still hard on the liver also. In truth, vinegar can actually contribute to a sluggish and stagnant liver almost as much as alcohol. Surprised? I give a full explanation of why this is the case in Liver Rescue. There’s so much to know about the liver that science and research hasn’t yet discovered. There’s a reason Liver Rescue is my largest and most packed book yet.
There’s a very popular belief today that stones can form in the liver, like they do in the gallbladder. This is another misconception. It’s not possible for the liver to form its own stones. There are no cases of the hepatic ducts inside the liver getting clogged with stones—so-called “liver stones”—because the liver does not pass already formed stones through the ducts that lead bile to the gallbladder. The liver is too hot for stones to form. The liver’s heat is actually a mechanism that protects you from stones forming there, whether hard or soft. If stones did form within it, the liver wouldn’t be able to pass them through the bile. Instead they are formed in the gallbladder, which is much cooler. I describe the process by which this happens in detail in Liver Rescue and how to safely and effectively break them down, which is also currently unknown and misunderstood.
If someone has done a liver flush before and seen “stones” in the toilet, it was really food and debris from the intestinal tract mixed with the oil from the concoctions that go with the cleanse. And if the cleanse that someone did was fat free, there will still be bits and pieces of food waste coming off the walls of the intestinal linings mixed with the large quantities of herbal mixtures someone usually ingested for the flush. These combine with mucus from the digestive tract and are expelled together so when you look into the toilet you think you saw liver stones when you didn’t. If you’ve done liver flushes before and seen what you believed to be liver stones in the toilet and felt better after them, there’s a reason for that too which I explain in Liver Rescue. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean you helped your liver cleanse or heal.
Thankfully, there are many ways you can support your liver that will help it renew and do its job much better. Your liver is desperate for you to help it in the right way. Liver Rescue is dedicated to showing you exactly how to support and love your liver. To finally give your liver the opportunity it’s been waiting for to safely and effectively do the deep clean it seriously needs. Your liver wants to protect you. To keep you alive, safe and well. And it needs your help more now than ever before to do so.

Just like weight gain, mystery hunger is an issue that is often treated unkindly. But regardless of what someone might have said to you, there is nothing wrong with you as a person. It is not gluttony, it is not a character defect. There is a real reason why you are experiencing insatiable hunger. Different doctors have brought different theories to the table to explain away this condition, including psychological overeating disorder; a miscommunication in the brain; a stomach disorder; hormonal disorders due to pregnancy, ovulation, or menopause; hyperthyroidism; seasonal affective disorder (SAD); depression; diabetes; and acid reflux. The list goes on—and these are painful diagnoses to receive. You might feel at odds with your own body or mind. The truth is, though, that none of these diagnoses truly get to the heart of the matter. As I have shared many times before, there are so many mystery symptoms and conditions that medical science and research do not have the answers to. Today, we are going to uncover what is really to blame for your constant hunger. And for an even greater understanding, you can refer to the in-depth explanation I offer in my book, Medical Medium Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune.
A Starving Liver
What could possibly make you want to eat so much? A starving liver—a liver that is in desperate need of the three Cs: critical clean carbohydrates. What your liver is not hungry for is fat calories, which most everyone is consuming in high quantities. What it’s really starving for is glucose from fruits and carbohydrate rich vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, and winter squashes. However, when there is fat in the liver and in the blood from the high fat foods most of us consume from the time we begin eating solid foods, the liver is unable to access any glucose we do eat. If you’re thinking that you don’t eat a high fat diet, it’s important to know that high protein diets are actually high fat diets. Almost every high protein food is inherently high in fat also, including eggs, chicken, nuts, seeds, milk, cheese, fish, beef, bacon, tofu, and more. Some of these foods like eggs and dairy are best avoided because of the ways they contribute to chronic illness and symptoms, which I explain in Liver Rescue. Other high protein and high fat foods can still be included, but it’s important they don’t dominate your diet so you can make space for more glucose-rich foods like fruits, potatoes, and winter squashes. To fully understand why the high protein and high fat trends have gained so much traction and what you can do about it, I wrote a whole chapter on this topic in Liver Rescue.
Now you know that your liver is starving for glucose. It’s this desperate need for glucose that drives the intense hunger people can experience where they feel like they can just keep eating and eating. A healthy liver has built up glycogen reserves. These reserves are compacted glucose in the tissue used to fuel your body, keep your organs healthy, and prevent disease. When the liver is forced to store fat instead, it loses its glycogen storage and begins to deteriorate. Fats also inhibit glucose from entering into the cells of other organs with ease. The heart, for example, is a muscle that requires glucose, or it weakens. In this case, no matter a person’s incredibly fit physique, he or she can eventually be heart attack bound if the diet is always too high in fat or protein and not enough glucose. Until fat is lowered in the diet so glucose can get into the liver and other cells and organs of the body, and there is sufficient glucose from fruits and carbohydrate rich vegetables being consumed, the liver will keep crying out for more of the fuel it needs, which means the constant hunger someone is experiencing will continue. Once the liver gets the breaks from fat it needs and sufficient glucose, and has the opportunity to heal, the constant hunger will begin to fall away.
In addition to fats, our livers are under stress from pathogenic activity in our bodies. Viruses and bacteria sit in the liver and feed off of toxic heavy metals (think: copper, steal, mercury, lead, alloys, and many more). Some people might have one or two varieties of streptococcus, for example, as opposed to others with five or eight varieties, while someone else might have a different bacteria and a virus like HHV6. But do not be deceived—everyone has viruses in the liver, Epstein-Barr being the most common, and bacteria like streptococcus. Pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and plastic residue also accumulate to create a landfill in the liver that further prevents it from accessing glucose. For a full list of the hundreds of different “Liver Troublemakers” that can affect the health of your liver, check out Liver Rescue. While some of them are a part of our everyday lives that can’t be avoided, others can be minimized or you can prevent exposure or consumption altogether. All of these troublemakers, in addition to too much fat and protein in the diet, can lead to a sluggish or fatty liver, which is always present in someone with mystery hunger. If you are not feeling the effects of a fatty or stressed liver causing the mystery hunger symptom now, it doesn't mean you aren’t living with other symptoms caused by a stressed liver. Unfortunately this burden the liver carries will finally catch up with you. However, with the right foods and healing steps, you can turn this around and bring your liver back to health.
What Can You Do?
I am not talking about table sugars when I tell you your sugar intake needs to increase. Fruit, sweet potatoes, all varieties of potatoes, and winter squashes are your answers. Do not be afraid of the word fructose. Do not cheat yourself from healing fruits like apples, berries, melons, grapes, bananas, peaches, and plums. Fruit fear is rampant today and it’s absolutely critical for your health and your loved ones’ health that you know the truth about fruit. That’s why I covered this topic in a radio show and article. When the liver’s glucose needs are satisfied, it shuts down your hunger signal. All of the above are perfect examples of critical clean carbohydrates that refuel the liver.
Mineral salts are another part of the equation. This means adding more leafy greens, celery, spinach, brussels sprouts, and asparagus into your diet. Of course, and perhaps most importantly, do not forget to drink your celery juice. If you can, try to drink at least 16 ounces of straight celery juice a day. The mineral salts in celery juice will help your liver rid itself of the sludge that is hanging around from unwanted viruses and other toxins.
As always, along with these do’s there are also a few don’ts. Whether you are vegan, paleo, or vegetarian, it is time to reduce the amount of fat in your diet for the reason I have shared. Even lean meats are full of fat. You do not have to eat the chicken skin to consume fat. Fat runs throughout all meats, in its juice, and in fish oil. When you think protein, think fat. For the meat-eaters out there, that means reducing your meat consumption to once a day. For vegetarians, cut out the eggs and dairy products for this reason but also the many other reasons I share in Liver Rescue. Vegans, limit the amount of nut butters, tahini, oils, and avocados you are eating. By eating too much of any of these foods, we are doing serious damage to our livers in the long run.
Remember, you are supposed to get hungry during the day and it’s good to snack on the right foods every hour and a half to two hours for your adrenals (I share more on this in my books), but constant or insatiable hunger is a signal, a call for help from your liver. It is a sign of a fatty or pre-fatty liver—that the organ is stressed and unable to store glucose. At one point in time, conventional medicine knew that a high-fat diet meant fat build-up in the organs. But with an influx of trends and marketing campaigns and hidden agendas at industry level, the truth has been swept under the carpet. Do not be afraid to heal with the right information, which is truths I share here and in Liver Rescue. Sometimes there are emotional crises that can set us back when it comes to our health and our eating habits. The important thing is that we keep putting one foot in front of the other and making the best choices we can at any time. If you need help changing your diet or creating great meals, Liver Rescue includes many delicious low fat recipes that include foods that are healing to the liver. Take it one day at a time—your hunger is not something to conquer, nor is it a shortcoming. It’s a signal that your liver needs you and it can be turned around.

The liver is such a complex and heroic organ, and it has an amazing feature—its very own personalized immune system—which helps fend off illness and protect your health. The liver actually has six unique immune functions with six different kinds of immune cells.
It’s unbelievable how much we rely on our livers and how much the health of our liver influences whether we experience a chronic illness or symptom. Millions of people in the U.S. alone are chronically sick, they’re not functioning, and our medical communities don’t know enough yet about how to help.
Chronic illness is a global burden that’s getting worse every year because the truth about what’s really causing these sicknesses and illnesses is not known or understood in conventional or alternative medical communities. For instance, science and research don’t yet know how the liver is involved in chronic conditions, or that this organ has a powerful and intricate immune system. Sadly, people are left without answers, and worse, without hope for healing.
I am here to tell you that answers are now here for you. Healing is possible when you know the true causes of your chronic illnesses and symptoms and are given the steps to heal these root causes. In my book, Liver Rescue, I share these answers and more. In this article, I will give an overview on the liver’s undiscovered immune system, but I recommend picking up a copy of Liver Rescue for an in-depth understanding on this topic and much more, and how it can help you heal.
First, I want to explain why I have so much respect for the liver. This organ works incredibly hard to filter out bugs—viruses and bacteria—as well as toxic heavy metals, harmful chemicals, pesticides and herbicides. The liver’s immune system is on guard against anything harmful. It also helps process and handle the things we consume, such as fat, protein, pharmaceuticals and alcohol. Too much of any of these substances can weigh the liver down.
Why We Get Sick in the First Place
To begin with, it helps to know that the main reason people get sick with chronic illness is because of pathogens—viruses and bacteria—as well as toxic heavy metals and chemicals. We live in toxic times. And science and research doesn’t know this yet, but different strains of Epstein-Barr, streptococcus, shingles, and other viruses and bacteria are at the root of most chronic health conditions, mystery symptoms and autoimmune diseases. (The autoimmune theory, which is that our own immune system is attacking our own organs, is incorrect, by the way. It’s important to know this: your body never attacks itself. Learn more about what’s really going on in my book Liver Rescue).
In addition to the pathogens, your liver also has to deal with toxic heavy metals, including mercury, lead, copper, and aluminum, which are another factor that contributes to illness. Viruses, bacteria and heavy metals can be passed down the family line, which means a parent or grandparent’s exposure can still be inside the body of a young child today and be affecting them now or even later on down the road in their life. It’s important to note that this is different to genetics. I explain how these toxins are inherited, not genetic, in Liver Rescue.
Now, our immune system isn’t just there to prevent a flu or to fight cancer—it’s got a huge job dealing with a wide range of undiscovered viruses that plague our planet. When you take a bite off your friend’s plate at dinner or share a kiss with a loved one or use the toilet at the gas station, you can easily pick up a new strain.
And the truth is, viruses are the main cause of our chronic health issues. These invaders wage attacks deep in our bodies, far beneath the surface in our organs and glands. And these viruses are sneaky—sometimes they don’t make a lot of noise. They’re extremely patient, but eventually they strike out.
Then people start to have strange symptoms or they may get a diagnosis of anything and everything under the sun: rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, shingles, lyme disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and many more. Or they may experience symptoms like migraines, tremors, aches and pains, ringing in the ears, floaters in the eyes, weak limbs, fatigue, hot flashes, loss of focus or concentration, loss of libido, hair loss, weight gain, and so on. Viruses can cause all of these. They aren’t autoimmune conditions and they aren’t genetic. Nor are they conditions or symptoms you have manifested. Nor do you have to just deal with them for the rest of your life. Not when you know their true causes and how to heal, which I share in my books.
Any of these things can bog the liver down: pathogens, toxic heavy metals, chemical poisons, high-fat diets, high-protein diets (whether plant based or animal based), pharmaceuticals and alcohol. In truth, there are hundreds of what I call “Liver Troublemakers,” which I list in Liver Rescue. It’s critical you become aware of what they are so you can do your best to minimize or avoid them or take the steps to support your liver better for those you can’t avoid. After years and decades of being bombarded, the liver can start to break down and lose its ability to function well and protect you.
But the miraculous thing is, you can make changes that will reverse the course. You can change direction and support the liver’s immune system and the liver itself. These are fundamental steps toward health and true healing. Remember: you need your liver, and your livers need you.
The Liver’s Six Immune Functions
It will be decades before science and research unearths the subtle but important differences among the liver’s six different functions. So far, only one of these has been observed, or flagged, by modern medicine and there’s still much not understood about how this one known function actually works. There just isn’t enough of a focus on the role of the liver. Most researchers are distracted focusing on the wrong things, like genetics or the autoimmune theory, neither of which will bring answers to chronic illness because the theories are inaccurate.
These six immune functions work together to keep the liver, and our bodies, as healthy as possible:
Hepatic vessel white blood cells: The hepatic portal vein is the main highway for viruses and bacteria to reach the liver. These cells guard the blood vessels that lead to the portal vein.
Hepatic portal vein white blood cells: These white blood cells monitor the portal vein itself. As blood flows through there are helpful nutrients and there are harmful troublemakers. These white blood cells work to stop the troublemakers—the viruses, bacteria, pesticides and more—from reaching their destination of the liver. The more toxins that are coming in though, the harder it is for these white blood cells to keep up.
It’s important to note that the contents of the blood running through this vein came from the digestive tract. That means it’s carrying nutrients too. If people are eating high-fat diets or keto diets (whether it’s a plant-based or animal-based diet) all that fat and high protein has to get processed, which burdens the liver and prevents it from spending more energy on taking out pathogens and toxins.
Hepatic artery white blood cells: These immune cells are situated at the circulatory entrance to the liver, so they’re working with the blood that’s coming from the heart. They’re made to survive that fast-moving, high oxygen blood—they’re aggressive swimmers!
And actually, all of these immune cells are incredible swimmers, they’re just designed to survive and thrive in different environments based on which part of the liver and body they’re protecting.
The hepatic artery white blood cells have a special shape that allows them to hover in an area of rushing blood to catch oncoming pathogens. But when pathogens get through despite it all, they find themselves up against the liver’s next defense—a set of three more immune functions:
Lobule white immune cells: These cells protect parts of the inside of the liver. They border the capillaries and other blood cells where they look out for invaders, like Epstein-Barr (which by the way is the virus responsible for Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E, and many “autoimmune” conditions—this is yet to be discovered by science and research). These lobule white blood cells have a license to kill, and they work hard to do just that when a pathogen has gotten through.
These aggressive immune cells have a hard job, and they’re unable to see clearly when our bodies are overrun with other junk, like old pesticides, chemical poisons and metals. That’s why keeping your liver clean is so critical in protecting you from every sickness, symptom and disease—and helping you to recover from any you might already have or are already developing unknowingly.
Bile duct white blood cells: Bile production is one of the top functions of your liver, and these immune cells are assigned to watch over the bile duct system. They’re the only part of the immune system that can withstand bile’s harsh nature. This has not been discovered by research and science yet, but the cells have protective covers that can handle the bile.
The immune cells look for passersby in the bile that could cause infection of the liver, gallbladder, duodenum and GI tract. This white blood cell can even travel upward and into the stomach. It will follow a pathogen as far as it can go, burning up its protective sheath along the path, but following through nonetheless--it’s willing to die to help you!
Liver lymphocytes: These immune cells monitor the outer region of the liver. They tend to stay on the outside, like a watchtower, trying to stop the viruses from getting into lymphatic vessels.
What do all of these immune cells have in common? One, that they are trying with all their might to protect you and keep you alive and healthy. Two, none of them have been discovered by medical science and research yet, which means how the liver works is not yet understood. And three, the more pathogens, toxins, heavy metals, chemicals, pollutants, and fat you are exposed to or consume, the harder it is for them to do their job.
Over time, your liver becomes more and more burdened, toxic, sluggish and stagnant as more and more of these Liver Troublemakers find their way into your liver, take up residence and continue to cause harm. That’s why it’s absolutely critical to find out more about how your liver works and how you can support it with the proper care and steps, which I share in detail in Liver Rescue. It’s your complete guide to understand and healing your liver and overall health. It contains the secrets for anti-aging, weight management, healing and disease prevention.
Supporting Your Liver’s Immune System
I’ve just scratched the surface of the liver and its incredibly sophisticated immune system. Here are a few quick starter tips for healing this critical organ. For a proper understanding of how to care for your hardworking liver, including healing foods and herbs, suggested supplement dosages for different illnesses and symptoms, and my Liver 3:6:9 Cleanse, please refer to Liver Rescue.
* Avoid too much fat and protein whether you’re vegan or eat animal products. It’s OK to have some healthy fats and healthy protein, but high-fat, high-protein and keto diets are very hard on your liver. These diets bog the liver down and make it hard for your liver to protect you from the toxins and pathogens that make you sick.
In Liver Rescue, I share exactly how your body responds to certain amounts of fat that you consume and why its problematic at certain levels. I also share alternative food options that will support your liver’s health.
* Stay hydrated with lemon or lime water, coconut water, cucumber juice, and fresh fruit and vegetable juices as well as fresh fruit and fresh lettuce and greens so your liver and it’s immune system can function well.
* Drink 16 ounces of pure celery juice every morning on an empty stomach.
* Try the Liver 3:6:9 Cleanse in Liver Rescue. This cleanse is designed to work perfectly with the liver and its unique needs. It’s an easy and simple cleanse that can yield powerful results. Also, learn and apply the rest of the healing information I share in Liver Rescue so you can the best friend to your liver it’s been waiting for you to be.
It breaks my heart to see how many people are suffering with health problems that stem from the liver, especially when people are guided down paths of misinformation and even further away from healing. I know so many of you are working on healing with the truths I share. And others are still on the search for the truth. Please hang in there, and saturate yourself with the information I share in Liver Rescue. Know that I care about you, and I want to help you get better. Take this journey one day at a time. Do it for you, and do it for your loved ones. You deserve to heal.

Most of us are unaware of the amount of toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis. From solvents and petrochemicals found in detergents to excess adrenaline our body has to deal with at times of stress and so many more, these toxins pollute our bloodstream. And then there’s the pathogens that all of us are carrying such as viruses like Epstein-Barr virus, shingles, herpes simplex, and HHV6, and bacteria like streptococcus, e. Coli, and more. And yet, medical science and research are still unable to tell us what is really going on in our blood. In fact, the results that a blood lab can give you are actually very limited. Trace amounts of toxic heavy metals and viral material go completely unnoticed. In truth, there are hundreds of what I call “Liver Troublemakers” that are harmful to us and can make the blood dirty and toxic. I list them for you in my book Medical Medium Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease.
The damage that these toxins do is significant and the symptoms that can manifest when the blood is toxic, which I call Dirty Blood Syndrome, can range dramatically. Some examples include dark circles under the eyes, varicose veins, Raynaud’s syndrome, gout, weight gain, and brain fog. Toxic blood also contributes to chronic fatigue, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, fibromyalgia, diabetes type 2, eczema, psoriasis, and acne. The list is exhaustive. But there is something we can do about toxic, dirty blood, and with the continued exposure to more and more toxins we face in our daily lives, it is important to take action and protect yourself and your loved ones.
The Truth About Detoxes & Health Trends
There are a multitude of trends on the market today pushing this or that detox. One trend might tell you to take collagen. The other fish oil or apple cider vinegar. The truth is, none of these trends will cleanse your blood from the toxins you’re breathing in at the gas station or when you paint your house. They also won’t detoxify heavy metals, alkalize your body, strengthen your bile and HCl, or bring healing to your liver, gut or brain. Quite the opposite actually. When companies pull mercury out of fish oil, for example, the oil actually becomes hyperactive and the memory of mercury more potent. Apple cider vinegar, despite being your best vinegar option, activates the excess sodium stored in your liver, pickling the organ and putting it in under additional stress. At the end of the day, these specific “health” trends and supplements and many more that are currently popular do not bring you healing. Rather, they make your blood more toxic and dirty.
High-protein diets, regardless of whether they are plant or animal based diets, are more trendy than ever, adding to the problem. Excess protein severely affects your gut health causing food rot. Even if you’ve tried a high protein diet and lost weight or gained muscle, there’s more to understand about what’s actually happening in these situations and it’s not actually because of the protein content of your diet. I cover this in-depth in my book Liver Rescue. The result of this food rot is an overproduction of ammonia in your blood, which aggravates toxin levels. In addition, the bile your liver produces cannot do its job of breaking down the fats that are inherent in almost all high protein foods, keeping the hydrochloric acid in your stomach from breaking down proteins in the first place. Poisoned bile from toxins in the liver also causes gallstones. At this point, you may be noticing a theme—when we do not keep our livers clean, excess toxins travel into our bile and digestive system. If a virus like Epstein-Barr is also present, symptoms worsen, we get sicker, and we age more rapidly. Streptococcus in the gut is another example. When toxins in the blood feed strep bacteria, there will be an increase in symptoms like acne, SIBO, and UTIs, all of which are the result of a strep infection and a sluggish liver. If today’s trendy detoxes are not the answer, what can you do about these toxins in the blood? You can focus on cleansing and supporting your liver the right way, which I share in detail in Liver Rescue. Your liver is responsible for ridding the toxins from your body, along with over 2000 undiscovered chemical functions. It is the organ that is truly your savior and best friend.
One of the reasons blood can become dirty and toxic is because of chronic dehydration. The majority of people today are walking around chronically dehydrated without even knowing it. We can be dehydrated for years or decades, which results in our blood being thick and slow moving instead of free flowing. Thick, dehydrated blood can’t carry toxins and pathogens and their waste byproduct out of the liver properly, and as a result, the toxins and waste end up building up. If someone has a buildup of toxins in the body and one or more low-grade viral or bacterial infections, or a lot of toxins of any variety, then also being chronically dehydrated can strain the body even more. Whether someone is chronically dehydrated or not can be the difference between feeling fine or dealing with symptoms like migraines, UTIs, rashes, dizziness, fatigue, aches and pains, heart palpitations, and more.
Liver & Blood Cleansing Foods
One of the best things you can do for your liver is drink straight celery juice on an empty stomach daily. Unlike apple cider vinegar, which activates bad sodium stored in your liver, celery juice breaks down the toxic salts that are stuck in your organs. Drinking 16 to 32 ounces of celery juice every morning will work wonders at cleaning up your liver and your blood. If you do not think you can stomach it and need additional inspiration, take a look through my Instagram feed to see babies and adults drinking celery juice daily and receiving the benefits. An easy morning routine that is also very cleansing is drinking 16 to 32 ounces of lemon water upon waking and then having 16oz or more of straight celery juice 20 minutes later if possible. Additionally, my Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie will remove the toxic heavy metals from plastics, pharmaceuticals and the countless other ways they enter us out of the blood. Most of us are born with these metals already in our bodies so it’s a very important healing tool for everyone today. You may also wish to bring in 16 ounces or more of pure cucumber juice daily to help your body be properly hydrated. As I shared above, chronic dehydration can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back when it comes to experiencing symptoms and conditions, so it’s important to drink plenty of lemon or lime water, celery juice, cucumber juice, and coconut water and eat plenty of fresh fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables which all contain water.
What foods should you avoid? First on the list are eggs and dairy. I will continue to remind you of this one—eggs and dairy feed viruses. They’re also inherently high in fat and fat suspends toxins in the body, preventing them from leaving. When fat congests the liver it also tires out the heart. Eliminating these foods from your diet is a huge step toward a clean liver and blood. If you enjoy eating animal proteins, try limiting them to one serving a day because they are also inherently too high in fat to properly clean up the blood. Vegans or plant-based people should try to reduce their intake of nuts, seeds, and oils to help keep the blood moving freely and removing toxins. Consuming the healing foods above and cutting down on fat will not only keep your liver strong, but will also help control any weight problems you might have. In Liver Rescue, I explain how a sluggish liver and dirty, toxic blood is behind mystery weight gain and how to bring about true healing and turn it around. It’s not about your metabolism, eating too many carbs, or about aging as is commonly believed today. I also share exactly what to eat and what not to eat to help heal countless symptoms and conditions, all of which are affected by dirty blood syndrome.
Ridding our bodies from toxins in the blood is about so much more than the occasional detox. It is about consistently eating and drinking healing foods that keep the liver clean and strong. When we protect our livers, we protect ourselves from a host of diseases and viruses. If you are aging and you are worried about heart palpitations or hot flashes, do the work of protecting your liver. If you are suffering from symptoms like rashes or rosacea, which are caused by a virus in the liver feeding off copper (this is unknown by medical science and research), protect your liver. No matter what symptoms or conditions you suffer with, it’s critical to cleanse and protect your liver.
The health of your liver is central to your overall health, along with your health in the future and how quickly you age. Unfortunately, medical science and research and both conventional and alternative health communities aren’t aware of exactly how the liver works, how its health contributes to countless symptoms and conditions, and how to best support your liver and restore your health. While some of the liver’s functions are known, the majority are still undiscovered, so it’s critical that you become an expert on your liver and know what’s really happening in your body. Read my book Liver Rescue so you can hold the truth in your hands and be empowered to change the course of your health. Try my 3-6-9 Liver Rescue Cleanse in the book. Do not get lost in the excess of information and trends out there. You can now have what you need to begin really healing and protecting yourself and your loved ones.
