Have you been diagnosed with a parasite? If so, you are one of the many people who have encountered the rapidly growing trend of blaming long-standing health problems on parasites. In this article I begin to break apart these inaccurate, yet deep-rooted ideas that are quickly spreading and negatively impacting those who receive this misdiagnosis.

The parasite diagnosis is a trend that is quickly overtaking other trends that have been around for decades, such as the Candida diagnosis. To learn the truth about Candida, check out my radio show or read the chapter on Candida in my first book, Medical Medium. Instead of attributing patients’ health issues to Candida, many well-meaning doctors and health are beginning to shift the blame to parasites. Both of these diagnoses are usually incorrect and can keep you from learning the truth about how to fully recover your health.

The Wrong Diagnosis

Medical communities are still not aware of what is causing people to suffer from conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and SIBO. This lack of understanding often leads to incorrect diagnoses, like parasites, which are one of the current scapegoats for health issues such as these. When a person is handed this diagnosis, usually parasites are not actually the issue and something else in her or his body is triggering symptoms and conditions. Becoming infected with a parasite is vastly different to dealing with some some bloating, gastritis, constipation, tummy aches, stitches, and fatigue.

The medical world has not reached a point yet where professionals can swiftly and accurately determine what is going on for someone internally. For example, the amount of byproduct the Epstein-Barr virus can expel in the liver and intestinal tract can lead a practitioner to believe that his or her patient is suffering from a parasitic infection. The problem with this diagnosis is that the person does not have a parasitic infection and is actually battling Epstein-Barr, a virus that can easily expel an abundance of byproduct and viral casings that get misdiagnosed as parasites because they’ve not yet been accurately identified. In my third book, Thyroid Healing, I go into great detail about the different mutated strains of Epstein-Barr that are able to adapt in order to enter various organs. During this process, certain strains of this virus can actually change their casings, and medical professionals may misidentify these viral casings as bacteria or a type of parasite.

Various types of bugs can show up in a person’s stool sample. Imagine mashing up a handful of insects and then trying to identify the different creepy-crawlers from the crushed pieces. It would be nearly impossible to tell which insects you were looking at from merely observing the smashed up bits. In a similar way, accurately identifying parasites in a stool sample is nearly impossible.

Rather than blaming parasitic activity for a patient’s chronic fatigue, aches and pains, or gut issues, the blame should be directed at the actual unproductive microorganisms that are creating these problems. If the symptoms and conditions you are battling have led you to be diagnosed with a parasitic infection, there is a high likelihood you have been misdiagnosed and are actually suffering from a low-grade bacterial or viral infection. If your particular troubles include gut issues and inflammation, it is likely that a bacterial infection is the culprit. Depending on your unique symptoms and conditions, a viral infection could be responsible as well. You may unknowingly have scar tissue and injuries in your intestinal tract and colon from old pockets of E. coli or streptococcus, or old viral deposits. Whether it be in your liver, spleen, pancreas, small intestine, or stomach lining, an abundance of scar tissue can trigger various issues. The health troubles you are fighting can be exacerbated by numerous variables including low hydrochloric acid, a sluggish liver, and food sensitivities. Fortunately, some of the healing steps health practitioners may have given you for a misdiagnosed parasitic infection, such as using herbs, may still have been helping you begin to heal the true cause of your health issues to some degree.

Dealing with A True Parasite

If you’ve been diagnosed with a parasitic infection in the past and are still alive today trying to manage the symptoms and conditions related to this supposed parasitic infection, there is a very likely chance that you were never actually dealing with a parasite. It is possible to become infected from an actual parasite, but when someone is suffering with a genuine parasite, either the person is able to knock the parasite out of her or his system, or the parasite can potentially end up killing the person. Bottom line, either you win or the parasite wins. There really isn’t an in between.

For example, a person can become infected with a parasite from eating raw pork. In this instance the person may end up in an intensive care unit with an incredibly high fever or in critical ailing pain feeling fearful for their life. Sadly, if their body is unable to eliminate the parasite, it could become devastating and life-threatening. The one certainty in this situation is that the parasite contracted from the pork will not be able to simply live in the person’s system for an extended period of time. The potentially fatal health consequences that can arise from undercooked pork is one reason to avoid this type of meat.

If you’re eating raw or undercooked meat or chicken, you are putting yourself at risk for contracting the Toxoplasma gondii parasite. This parasite is so toxic it can give rise to hallucinations. Raw or undercooked meat may contain this parasite, but it can also be found on raw salads and raw vegetables prepared at restaurants that serve animal protein and animal products. Whether you are a meat eater, vegetarian, or vegan, avoiding raw salad and raw vegetables in restaurants that are not plant-based is a smart choice. Sticking with cooked food selections is a much safer option.

You could contract a dangerous parasite from drinking contaminated water in Mexico or from simply dining at a random bar and grill near your home. I’ve also known people who have almost died from eating street food in the Dominican Republic. So whether you are traveling internationally or just headed to a barbeque with friends, staying mindful of your food and drink choices is crucial. Check out some particularly powerful ways to protect yourself from food poisoning in my blog post and radio show on this topic.

Malaria is another parasitic infection people can battle. Like all other parasites, someone cannot live with malaria in their system. A person is able to beat malaria, but if their body is unable to knock out the parasitic infection, the malaria can take their life. Amoebas and protozoan parasites are just the same. If your body cannot eliminate the parasite, the amoeba or protozoa can be life-threatening. You maybe wondering about Babesia, but is important to understand that this hybrid is mislabeled. It’s not entirely a parasite. In truth, three-quarters of this harmless hybrid is bacterial in nature.

Medical research still does not fully understand the various microorganisms that linger on foods such as contaminated meat and chicken and in places such as swamps and still water. It’s a life or death situation when you’re dealing with a real parasitic infection. The truth is that if you aren’t able to beat these bugs, they can potentially beat you. If you have a parasitic infection you may experience violent vomiting or nonstop diarrhea. I’ve spoken with doctors and nurses who dread situations where people come into the hospital experiencing stomach problems related to a true parasitic infection. Often, professionals have to put the patient in a medically induced coma and hope that the patient is able to fight off the parasite over time.

In certain cases, the body’s reaction is slightly more moderate than a usual instance involving parasites. If your body is able to quickly kill the parasite you may only endure a very brief stint of vomiting or diarrhea. In some instances, a person may feel ill for a few weeks while their body works to fight off the parasite. If this happens, the parasite might stir up less acute symptoms for slightly longer than a typical parasitical infection. But in the end, the parasite is killed. A true parasite can’t stay in the body long term.

Our bodies are amazing and they can beat a parasitical infection, and most of the time they do— there’s just a small percentage who are unable to beat them. If you ever have to endure contamination from a parasite try your best to keep a light heart through the agony and pain. Fiercely believe in your heart and soul that you will win because you definitely can! If you’re dealing with chronic health issues for an extended period of time, there is a significant chance those issues do not stem from parasites whatsoever. Likely something else is giving rise to these problems.

The Bugs in Your Body

It is important to understand that we all have an abundant variety of bugs in our bodies— some good bugs, some harmful bugs, and some that are neutral. Beneficial microorganisms contribute to your health and healing in a number of supportive ways. The neutral bacteria and other microorganisms in your system do not bolster your wellbeing, but they do not detract from your health either. Neutral bugs or even annoying, bothersome bugs that reside in you can actually push harmful parasites out of your system. Viruses like Epstein-Barr do not like when other invaders, such as parasites, are in the body, and these pathogens will actually help rid the body of other unwanted invaders. This is the reason that many people who suffer from autoimmune issues brought about by Epstein-Barr do not catch many colds or flus. If an invader gets into the system, Epstein-Barr will work to knock it out. You can learn more about Epstein-Barr virus and how it may be affecting you and your loved ones in my book Thyroid Healing.

There are some pathogens that may not provide you with any physical assistance, but contributes to your spiritual growth. When you go through an enormous trial that pushes you to your limits, like battling a chronic illness, and you finally learn the truth and are able to overcome and rise above whatever you were up against, you may experience radical transformation on a soul and spirit level. You may not realize this at the time, but the bacteria or virus you were battling and the trying circumstances it created actually helped bring about this soul transformation. In these instances, although the bacteria, virus, or other pathogen has caused you immense pain and suffering, it has also taught you something life-changing. By giving rise to this lesson, these bacteria, viruses, and similar pathogens distinguish themselves from true parasites that will ruthlessly take from you without giving you anything in return.

You maybe surprised to learn that Epstein-Barr was once an incredibly friendly virus that actually worked for you and not against you. I discuss Epstein-Barr indepth in my third book, Thyroid Healing. Sadly, agendas that drive conventional medicine and certain other industries have caused Epstein-Barr to become the troublesome virus we know today. However, as I mentioned earlier, Epstein-Barr and other viruses and bacteria can still give your body something, such as spiritual or emotional growth, that a real parasite cannot give you.

Worms

Alongside bugs, you may also have a number of worms in your system that do not affect your ability to live your life and do not give rise to noticeable symptoms or conditions. A few types of worms fall into the parasite category because they can grow quite large, work quickly, and can cause great harm if you do not remove them from your system. However, most worms are a different type of bug that should not be lumped into the same group with parasites.

You maybe wondering about parasites that are protozoa-based and amoeba-based, but these types of parasites are not related to worms either. Unlike parasites, which can actually defeat their hosts, worms often live in humans without causing too many noticeable issues. It is not ideal to have worms in your body, but for the most part they do not cause nearly the destruction that true parasites can inflict. Although there are some rather harmful worms, most worms are almost neutral in their effect. Worms can actually help eat and eliminate unproductive garbage in the body from unhealthy foods and toxic debris, and the poison they release afterwards is neither highly neurotoxic nor dermatoxic. However, worms can strip your body of beneficial things as well. The majority of worms dwell in the organs and act in a slightly hostile manner. Fortunately, there are ways you can begin to draw worms out and clear them from your system.

If you’re working to eliminate worms, eating a diet that contains a larger amount of greens and green juices as well as a bit of fruit is an incredible way to start ridding your body of worms and worm eggs. If you are able to maintain a clean diet for an extended period of time, you will begin to draw worms out of your system. You may even notice worms turn up in the toilet over time as you continue to give your body what it needs to eliminate them.

Garlic and onion are two foods that can be helpful to get rid of worms. Garlic especially, can be a fantastic weapon against worms. Alongside clean food choices with a significant focus on fruits, veggies and leafy greens, certain supplements can help with the removal of worms. You may want to try including an ample amount of olive leaf in your protocol for a period of time. Goldenseal can also be beneficial when taken every two weeks with a two week break in-between. If you’ve been told by a doctor or practitioner that you have a long-term parasitic infection, implementing this goldenseal routine will likely be helpful for you as well. It will help to lower the bacterial and viral load that is actually causing your symptoms because as you now know, you can’t have a long term true parasitic infection. There is something else behind your symptoms when it’s chronic.

Parasite Cleanses

If you have been told you are experiencing a long-term parasitic infection, your practitioner may have suggested doing a parasite cleanse. If you have done one of these natural cleanses you may have even noticed some benefits. The reason for this is that when you attempt to address parasites through natural measures, you may have been unintentionally going after the true cause of your issues without realizing it. Natural cleanses advertised to help fight parasites can often begin to help knock down bacterial or viral loads in the body, which is why you might have experienced some improvement.

Although some of the herbs in these cleanses can provide support, figuring out the unique pathogen you are up against and choosing the best foods, supplements, and herbs to combat your specific illness can allow proper healing. This post, as well as the other Medical Medium blog posts, radio shows, and books can help you figure out what you are truly up against and what steps you can take to begin moving forward.

Steps to Take

If you have been told you are dealing with a long-term parasitic infection, instead of immediately diving into a parasitic cleanse, I would first recommend eliminating any foods from your diet that could feed harmful bacteria and viruses in your body. As you now know, the reason to focus on eliminating bacteria and viruses rather than parasites is because most people diagnosed with a parasitic infection are actually battling a type of bacteria, or in some cases, a virus.

Ridding your diet of foods that can feed pathogens is a wonderfully beneficial action you can take. Try to eliminate eggs, dairy products such as milk, cheese, butter, and yogurt, as well as gluten and canola oil. If your diet includes animal protein or animal products, try to reduce the amount you consume while you work to heal your symptoms and conditions. If you’re an avid meat eater, reduce your intake of meat or chicken to once a day. This dietary change will allow you to incorporate a greater number of healing foods that can help kill off the bacteria in your system over time. If you eat a plant-based diet, being mindful of incorporating truly healing foods like fresh fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables is equally important. Certain vegan products like soy based products, most grains, processed cookies, cakes and other junk foods and more do not feed beneficial bacteria, and replacing some of these food items with foods that do can be a critical step.

Supportive Foods

What people assume are parasite issues can often be bacteria-related, making it important to prioritize the health of your intestinal tract. Taking steps to feed the beneficial bugs in this part of your digestive system is crucial. Certain foods can help you accomplish this. Try incorporating dandelion greens and arugula, two powerful leafy greens. Cilantro and parsley are some other fantastic additions. Using a food processor to breakdown greens and bring more into your meals is a fantastic practice.

Juicing fennel bulbs, which are rich in vitamin C, can create a wonderfully healing drink. For another fantastic juice, run fennel bulbs, celery, and cucumber through the juicer. Drinking straight celery juice can be a game changer for your health. Raising hydrochloric acid levels, one of the celery juice’s many benefits, can support your body’s efforts to kill off bacteria. With adequate levels of hydrochloric acid in your body, you have a much better chance of killing off harmful invaders, including parasites. A second juice following your celery juice can be fantastic as well. You may want to include a mix of ingredients in this one. Some great vegetables to juice include kale, parsley, cilantro, and fennel. Aloe vera can be a powerful weapon for a number of issues. Check out instructions for making a soothing aloe water on my blog. If you’re struggling with gut issues or even genuine parasite issues, regularly drinking coconut water can make an amazing difference. Lemon water and lime water are two other anti-parasitic drink options.

Bringing in the top foods for detoxing heavy metals on a daily basis can be another highly supportive practice. By implementing the heavy metal detox, you can begin to draw out toxic metals such as mercury, aluminum, lead, and arsenic. You may feel like your parasitic issue is beginning to resolve, but what’s really happening is that a significant food source for the bacteria in your system is no longer available.

Supportive Supplements & Teas

If you have been told you have a long-term parasitic infection by a doctor or practitioner, and you aren’t willing to consider that this may not be an accurate diagnosis, I would still suggest bringing in an abundance of the healing foods mentioned above and discussing with your doctor some of the supplements and teas below that might support your situation.

Oregano oil is fantastic for any kind of gut issue that stems from a bacterial infection. Lemon balm, olive leaf, and pau d’arco are three other great supplements to consider including in your protocol if you’re suffering from an issue that your doctor considers parasite-related. If you’re having issues in your gut or bloodstream, eyebright is a wonderful herb to include. Thyme tea and elderflower tea are excellent additions as well. Regularly sipping elderflower tea can help feed good bacteria in your gut— a protective measure to help you fend against any harmful parasites you may encounter.

Cat’s claw can help with a multitude of pathogenic issues. This supplement can help knock down varieties of Epstein-Barr, HHV-6, shingles, and other viruses that fall within the herpes family. Cat’s claw can also help battle bacteria such as E. Coli and streptococcus as well as C. difficile.

Doctors presently attempting to treat Lyme disease are beginning to avoid using antibiotics as a treatment option after watching forefathers in the world of Lyme disease inundate patients with antibiotics with little to no success. Gradually, the doses have been lowered and the time frame in which they are given has been extended. Presently, many doctors working with patients who have been diagnosed with Lyme avoid antibiotics altogether and opt for a more natural protocol that includes cat’s claw and intravenous vitamin therapy. Many have come to the realization that a more natural approach to healing which includes these and other supplements can actually move people towards recovery. You can learn more about healing from Lyme disease in my books, Thyroid Healing and Medical Medium.

Moving Forward

It is vitally important people begin to learn how parasites truly operate in the body and what a parasite diagnosis might actually mean. I am not a proponent of misinformation or guessing games when it comes to a person’s health. I am hoping that this knowledge will help you to let go of misdiagnoses, avoid treatments that are not beneficial, and move forward with information that can support your genuine healing. May this information inspire you to start looking past the health trends that arise and take hold of the truth.

Inflammation—you’ve probably heard this term thrown around, and, whether you were aware of it or not, you’ve most likely experienced some type of inflammation during your lifetime. At present, the word inflammation is used liberally in medical communities. If you are suffering from pain in certain areas, a medical professional may deem it inflammation. “There’s inflammation in there,” a doctor may remark after reviewing MRI results. Or, “you’re inflamed,” a practitioner may say when you share you have joint pain, a rash, or strange pains. Really inflammation is a “lazy term,” because inflammation is the result of a deeper issue, it is never the answer itself. While I support medical professionals observing and attempting to relieve inflammation, I want these experts and you and your loved ones to know that inflammation is not the cause of any issue. Nor is it an independent issue. There is something else going on if you have inflammation— it doesn’t operate alone. This mistaken belief needs to be rectified.

Inflammation is a sign that there is a greater problem taking place in the body. If an individual is complaining of back pain, knee problems, or gut issues, his or her doctor or practitioner may suggest that inflammation is to blame. And, while inflammation may be present, it is never the answer. It is simply an indication that something else in the body needs to be addressed. The mistake here is not the medical communities wanting to address and relieve the inflammation— although the methods suggested to find relief are not always helpful— the great mistake is regarding the inflammation itself as the answer to someone’s symptoms and conditions. I delve far more deeply into this topic in my third book, Thyroid Healing.

The Two Reasons for Inflammation

Inflammation never develops on its own, and only emerges for two reasons. In the human body where hundreds of millions of undiscovered chemical functions and chemical reactions are taking place per cubic inch, it might be surprising to learn that there are only two reasons behind inflammation, but this is the irrefutable truth that I have to share with you. Medical communities are completely unaware of this fact. The first reason inflammation may appear is if you experience a physical injury. Physicians are aware of this type of inflammation. Any damage to the body, whether it be external or internal, may give rise to inflammation. What most doctors and health practitioners aren’t aware of is that an invader in the body is the second reason inflammation can surface. Invader refers to any type of pathogen in the body.

Injury
Have you ever sustained a sports or exercise-related injury? In this instance, inflammation related to that injury likely emerged. Other examples of injuring yourself that may result in inflammation include getting dental work done, accidentally cutting yourself, or slipping on ice in the wintertime. A movement as simple as tripping on a curb can lead to a serious sprained ankle and extensive inflammation. You can also sustain an injury from a chemical or burn. This is the type of inflammation most doctors and health practitioners are aware causes inflammation. If a physical injury is not to blame for your inflammation, than you will be dealing with an invader.

Invaders
There are hundreds of invaders that can stir up inflammation issues in the body from rashes to body aches and pains and much more. Recovering from a knee replacement surgery is just one example of how pathogens can create inflammation and impact the body’s ability to heal. Someone may have knee replacement surgery, recover quickly and find him or herself walking soon after without issue. In this instance, the person is not likely to have had invaders triggering inflammation issues around the area where the surgery took place. However, if you have knee replacement surgery and the knee does not seem to be calming down or healing properly after an extended period of recovery, it is likely that an invader is creating issues. This invader and the chronic inflammation it can provoke may have even been part of the reason the knee joint wore out initially. When it comes to knee and hip replacements, often a slow, extended recovery, at least in part, is related to the Epstein-Barr virus in the body.

At present, some medical professionals blame inflammation on the body attacking itself, but this is a disastrously inaccurate theory and claim. As I’ve said so many times before and will continue to maintain— the body does not attack itself. There are only two reasons someone will suffer from inflammation— neither of which is the body attacking itself. I brought this truth to light in my first book, Medical Medium, and again in my second book, Life-Changing Foods. I go into even greater detail in my upcoming book, Thyroid Healing. It is critical that the faulty and damaging theory of autoimmune disease be rectified. This is just one of the many great mistakes I continuously work hard to shed light on in order to protect you and your loved ones.

Types of Inflammation

Below are some common types of inflammation. Through these examples, you can develop a better understanding of how invaders play a major role in the creation of inflammation in the body.

Many people suffer from different levels of brain inflammation. Nerves connected to the brain run throughout the body, branching out into various parts of the system. Neurological inflammation can occur when these nerves become inflamed. Numerous pathogenic invaders can play a part in the creation of this neurological inflammation, along with other factors like heavy metal poisoning or MSG toxicity.

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), which has a number of other labels including myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, and systemic exertion intolerance disease, is often the result of mild brain inflammation from an Epstein-Barr virus. Even very mild brain inflammation can trigger a severe case of this condition. If you have CFS, a specialist may be able to tell you that you have brain inflammation, but he or she will not be able to tell you the pathogen responsible. For decades I’ve been able to tell people whether Epstein-Barr is the invader, or Epstein-Barr and shingles are the invaders, or whether it’s a combination of Epstein-Barr, shingles, and HHV-6, all thanks to Spirit’s advanced knowledge and guidance on the subject. Sadly, because many working with those who suffer from chronic illness aren’t yet aware of the information I share, patients are being incorrectly told that their bodies are attacking themselves. This not only serves to breakdown the immune system, but does not provide people with the answers they need to heal.

Inflammation in various organs can lead to major health issues, but it’s the pathogen or injury that is the true cause of these issues. Liver inflammation is an issue I see with extreme frequency. Liver inflammation is often the result of pathogens wreaking havoc in this organ. An invader can cause a number of problems including triggering elevated liver enzymes. If particular damage is seen on an MRI or CT scan, someone may be handed a hepatitis C diagnosis. Although medical communities know that hepatitis A, B, C, and D stem from viral issues, what medical research and medical science do not know is which virus is creating these issues. They have no clue that the cause of hepatitis C is Epstein-Barr creating damage in the liver for an extended period of time because they have yet to single out the particular bugs that are triggering these issues.

Instead, the medical profession has to rely on on inflammatory markers in the blood or MRIs and CT scans to classify a hepatic liver at different stages of inflammation. What they have not yet realized is that inflammation is not the answer! The true answer is that Epstein-Barr virus, sometimes along with other herpetic viruses, are creating the inflamed liver. A doctor might also try to pin mystery liver inflammation on autoimmune issues, but as I said earlier, inflammation never stems from the body attacking itself because the body never attacks itself. Do not let a medical professional convince you that your liver inflammation, your fibromyalgia, your rheumatoid arthritis, or any other health problem is because your body is attacking itself. This is never ever the case!

Eye inflammation can arise from a number of different bacteria getting into this organ. You can pick up a stye, staph or come down with the flu just from touching door handles in public places and rubbing your eyes. Glaucoma stems from a mutated variety of the Epstein-Barr virus that triggers eye problems. Learn more about the various Epstein-Barr varieties and the symptoms and conditions they can create in my first book, Medical Medium.

Other types of inflammation you may experience include skin inflammation, gut inflammation, or colon inflammation. A number of invaders can enter the gut, wreak havoc, and trigger inflammation. For example, if you suffer from small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) you most likely have streptococcus in your system that is creating inflammation and other issues in the gut. To learn more about SIBO, check out my “Healing SIBO” radio show. Various viruses and bacteria can sit inside the colon and stir up major issues. Some of the viruses you may be dealing with include a variety of the shingles, a strain of Epstein-Barr, a mutated HHV-6 virus, cytomegalovirus, undiscovered HHV-10, HHV-11, HHV-12 or another of the many herpetic viruses in existence. Conditions connected to colon inflammation can have a number of different instigators. If you suffer from colitis, a variety of the shingles virus is often the culprit. As I shared in my first book, Medical Medium, there are many varieties of undiscovered non-rashing shingles that cause a host of health problems. However, if you are suffering from irritable bowel, streptococcus may be to blame.

Inflammation can also occur if you catch a flu. If you are only experiencing cold-like symptoms you may think you have a rhinovirus, but these viruses no longer exist. I shared more on this topic in my radio show and article on Colds and Flus. The flu, which has globally taken over, now emerges approximately every two months, and can trigger severe inflammation. It can trigger inflammation in the sinuses, chest, lungs, and gut and may give rise to issues such as bronchitis, a serious cough, and severely weakened adrenals. Another reason for inflamed sinuses is the result of streptococcus inside the sinus linings. Streptococcus, which can be nestled inside these linings since childhood, can create persistent mystery sinus inflammation.

The Effect of Food

An alternative, conventional, or integrative doctor or practitioner is likely to balk at the fact that there are only two causes of inflammation— injuries and invaders. Some doctors or practitioners may respond with the inaccurate notion that certain foods, such as wheat, inflame certain individuals, but this is not accurate. Gluten itself does not inflame the body. What gluten does do is feed the invaders (pathogens) in your body that give rise to inflammation. I’ve worked tirelessly to get this information to medical communities and to the public, and I’ve happily noticed that this truth is starting to slowly ripple out into the health world.

For example, there is a tremendous amount of misinformation surrounding celiac disease. Celiac is not hereditary. It is an inflammatory illness where pathogens in the body are feverishly feeding on any gluten that’s consumed. Fueling these pathogens can lead to a host of negative reactions in the body, but the gluten is not directly responsible for any of these negative consequences.

If you do not have a pathogen in your system or only have an extremely dormant pathogen, then you will be able to eat all the gluten you desire without creating inflammation. Unproductive food choices may lead to other issues like the development of gallstones, which could lead to an internal injury if the gallstone gets stuck in the gallbladder duct, but any inflammation that arises from this issue would be injury- not pathogen-related.

I’ve known some seventy, eighty, and ninety-year-old men and women who have been able to eat some very unhealthy foods, including a tremendous amount of gluten, because they do not have invaders in their bodies that are feeding on these foods and creating inflammation. For many people in their seventies, eighties, and nineties this is not the case, but for a few anomalous individuals pathogen-related inflammation is nearly nonexistent.

The Role of Heavy Metals

Like the foods you choose to eat, heavy metals in the system do not technically cause inflammation. However, heavy metals are a preferred food for invaders in the body that do cause inflammation. Over a year ago, I discussed this exact concept with a practitioner who had at first suggested that heavy metals were the cause of inflammation. I told him what actually happens— that heavy metals feed pathogens that are then more likely to create inflammation and other issues in the body. It’s very important to remove heavy metals from the body for this reason. It is critical that both practitioners and patients begin to learn the truth about where inflammation stems from.

Inflammatory Tests

There are a number of inflammatory tests you can have done, but I like to refer to these tests as “guess tests” because they can only reveal so much information and do not highlight the underlying cause or provide you with answers on how to move forward. Let’s take a look as some of the available inflammatory “guess tests”.

The C-reactive protein test simply lets doctors know that there is inflammation, but the test cannot reveal why the inflammation is present. This is true of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR or sed rate) test as well. Once doctors use these tests to establish that you have inflammation, they are likely to hand you a label, but will not be able to provide you with a cause or sufficient answers to help you heal. The plasma viscosity (PV) test, IgA and IgG tests, and the antinuclear antibody test (ANA), are some other tests that may help to reveal inflammation in your body, but will not provide you with any additional insight into the true cause. This is because the tests are not yet advanced enough and also because the true causes of chronic illnesses are unknown to medical communities. Read my first book, Medical Medium, to learn more about the true causes of many chronic illnesses. Like many of the others tests, the liver enzyme blood work test and other similar tests, some of which are still being developed, only identify inflammation.

One promising step in the Lyme disease world is that experts are starting to make a connection between inflammation and a pathogen wreaking havoc in the body. Although experts are currently suggesting the wrong pathogen as the cause of Lyme, the foundational idea that pathogens are one of the issues behind inflammation is a positive step forward. I believe that movement toward truth should be celebrated, no matter how small! If you have strongly-held beliefs about Lyme disease that oppose these truths or are just curious to learn more, check out my radio show, “The Unknown Cause of Lyme Disease,” or read the "Lyme Disease” chapter in my first book, Medical Medium.

Supportive Foods & Supplements

When you are working to reduce inflammation, the more anti-inflammatory foods you can bring into your diet the better. Garlic, which helps kill pathogens, is an excellent anti-inflammatory food. Figs can kill pathogens in the gut, making them an incredible anti-inflammatory option as well. If you have a number of pathogens in your system, it is best to not eat too many figs in one sitting because of the strong detox reaction you may experience.

Like figs, kiwis work in the gut to help destroy pathogens. The anti-pathogenic properties in lemons and limes are powerful, so make sure to squeeze these citrus fruits in water, on salads, and in your favorite sauces and dressings. If you are suffering with inflammation and think you may have a bacteria, parasite or virus of any kind, bring plenty of pears into your diet. Their anti-inflammatory attributes can be incredibly beneficial. Papaya can be a particularly powerful food if you are suffering from gut inflammation.

Apples, wild blueberries, and leafy greens such as lettuces, arugula, and kale are other wonderful, pathogen-fighting foods that consequently help lower inflammation. Peaches, plums, nectarines, melons, mangos, and cherries are even more, flavorful anti-inflammatory recommendations. Some pathogen-destroying, anti-inflammatory herbs to incorporate into your diet include rosemary, thyme, sage, and oregano. Another supportive food to bring in regularly is aloe vera. Learn how to make aloe water on my blog or try out the tasty aloe cooler recipe in my book, Life-Changing Foods. Many of these anti-inflammatory foods are detailed in my second book, Life-Changing Foods.

Nettle leaf and lemon balm are wonderful anti-pathogenic supplement options. Licorice root, another anti-inflammatory choice, is especially good at fighting off herpetic viruses. Bringing in a licorice root supplement or regularly drinking licorice root tea can be a powerful step. I frequently mention various herbal teas that can offer anti-inflammatory benefits on my radio show, in my books, and in other blog posts.

Foods to Avoid

As you bring more life-giving, anti-inflammatory fruits and veggies into your diet, it is beneficial to begin eliminating the foods that feed the pathogens that trigger an inflammatory response. Foods to remove from your diet while you heal include wheat, gluten, and dairy such as milk, cheese, butter, kefir, and yogurt. Other foods to exclude if you have inflammation or think you may be inflamed are eggs, pork, canola oil, and corn.

Moving Forward

At present, medical communities are using inflammation as as a catch-all term, but it is important that experts begin to recognize inflammation is caused by more than just physical injuries—it’s also caused by invaders. And if some are aware that inflammation is caused by invaders, identifying which pathogen is impossible with today’s medical testing methods. People need answers that are not contaminated, attached to interest groups, medical funding, trendy theories, or botched research. People need pure, clean, truthful healing information.

I’ve seen people with heartbreakingly severe inflammation who haven’t been given the answers they need to heal. My hope is that this article and the other Medical Medium resources available help bring you new hope and renewed faith in your body’s ability to move past the inflammation and its underlying cause. You can overcome this! Trust your body, trust the accuracy of this information, and know that I will never stop rooting for you along the way!

Healing SIBO

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) is a widespread issue that has become a popular diagnosis in recent years. Not only will this article highlight the underlying cause of SIBO, but it will also reveal manageable steps you can take to begin overcoming this disorder.

Have you or a loved one been handed a SIBO diagnosis? Your doctor or practitioner may have prescribed an antibiotic, or recommend dietary changes and herbal remedies, but he or she was most likely unable to tell you the true underlying cause seeing that medical research and medical science have still not uncovered this answer. Although medical communities recognize the role bacteria plays in this condition, they have yet to specify the type or determine why the overgrowth developed originally. Fortunately, I have the truth to share with you here today so that you and your loved ones can finally heal the symptoms associated with this condition.

The True Underlying Cause

If you receive a SIBO diagnosis, your doctor is likely to suggest you begin taking an antibiotic. Unfortunately, in many cases any antibiotic you use will only offer temporary relief. Before we address what you can implement instead of antibiotics to help truly heal the root cause of SIBO, you must understand the reason SIBO emerges in the first place. The medical world recognizes that SIBO is bacterial, but they are not aware that SIBO originates from chronic streptococcus in the body system. If you’ve listened to some of my other radio shows or read some of my other blog posts you may already know this truth that I have previously revealed.

For many people, streptococcus appears during childhood. It can be passed from a mother or father at conception and an infant can enter the world with strep already in his or her system. Others may pick up strep as young children in a daycare center, kindergarten, or school setting. Strep is easily passed from one person to another as an adult also, and there are a number of varieties one can contract.

Throughout the years, medical professionals have tended to focus on group A strep and group B strep, two of the eight groups of strep medical research and medical science have publicly recognized. However, groups A through H are just a fraction of the actual number of strep groups in existence. In truth, there are not enough letters in the alphabet to classify the number of strep groups wreaking havoc. There may be some brilliant researchers working in laboratories who have stumbled upon the fact that there are far more strep mutations than just A through H, but this discovery and many more like it are concealed or withheld. This is because of special interest groups in medicine that would prefer funding go to other areas of medicine so that various forms of information are never released to health professionals or the public.

Conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bacterial vaginosis are also a result of streptococcus in the system, but these issues are often blamed on an unspecified bacterial infection or yeast infection. Even if some doctors were aware of the fact that these conditions are strep-related, they would most likely have trouble observing the strep. If strep has been in your system for an extended period of time, it can become nearly impossible to identify its existence in the body through the various methods of testing available today both in the medical and alternative health worlds.

Nowadays, one of the few instances in which doctors and practitioners look for strep is when a woman is pregnant or looking to become pregnant. Although doctors and practitioners can occasionally detect strep through a vaginal strep test, these tests are not foolproof and doctors are still often unable to identify the many varieties of this elusive bacterium. This is true even if it is unquestionably in the body on account of the strep-related conditions someone is experiencing, such as SIBO.

SIBO in the Body

Presently, many experts are suggesting that SIBO is often just an issue in a person’s intestinal tract, but this is not the case. A fact that is currently absent from the trending SIBO information is that SIBO can be present in the body from the mouth all the way to the rectum. That means, SIBO can be found in your stomach, duodenum, small intestinal tract, large intestinal tract, and even the esophagus.

Many medical professionals wrongfully conclude that bacteria mostly proliferate in the intestinal tract because of the pervasive but inaccurate belief that there is no hydrochloric acid in this area. However, he or she may be skeptical that bacteria is able to create chaos in the stomach, which is where they believe the hydrochloric acid is. These ideas, which many medical professionals regard as truth, stem from the fact that much of the current information surrounding hydrochloric acid is inaccurate.

The Truth About Hydrochloric Acid

As I said, some professionals believe it is impossible to have bacteria in the stomach due to the presence of hydrochloric acid, which is supposed to break down and kill any bacteria that develops. However, this notion is faulty. Firstly, medical research and medical science still believe hydrochloric acid to be a single acidic solution. When in actuality, hydrochloric acid is a complex blend of seven acids— a critical piece of information I brought to light in my books Medical Medium and Life-Changing Foods. Medical communities are yet to become aware of this truth.

A doctor may tell you that you have strong hydrochloric acid or ample hydrochloric acid based off of tests he or she has run, but these tests are not taking into consideration all seven of the components that make up the hydrochloric acid blend, because medical research and medical science do not even realize that this blend exists! For this reason, certain components of the hydrochloric acid blend in your body may be low even if a test suggests otherwise.

Medical research and medical science are most familiar with one element of the seven elements that make up the blend. Consequently, if that element, along with three of the other elements that constitute part of the blend, are sufficiently present, then a test might indicate that you have adequate or even abundant hydrochloric acid even if the other three elements are severely depleted or completely absent. When just two or three of the components in the blend are low, bacteria will not die when it enters the stomach which opens someone up to the symptoms associated with SIBO and other gut health issues.

If you are a medical professional, you probably know that bacteria can move and travel throughout the body. But what you don’t know, because the information isn’t known, is that the bacteria can travel back up into the stomach from the intestinal tract and create issues. This is information I have shared here and in my books and radio shows so that you and your loved ones can understand the truth about bacteria and how they move around. If you are a medical or health professional, this is especially important to understand so you can better help your clients. This is true even if a test leads you to believe that you have high levels of hydrochloric acid in your stomach. For this reason, it is critical that you begin to truly build up your hydrochloric acid so that you can work to heal from SIBO or protect yourself and others from this condition and other gut health issues that arise when hydrochloric acid becomes deficient.

Some people who are told that they have ample hydrochloric acid still suffer from stomach ulcers. A likely reason for this is that one or more critical elements of their unknown blend of seven acids are no longer present. Bacteria, which creates these ulcers, can proliferate when powerful hydrochloric acid is not present to maintain harmony in the gut. Whether you are suffering from an ulcer or just wish to avoid developing one, building up the hydrochloric acid in your system is critical.

Certain scientific discoveries and technological advances in the realm of medicine have been amazing and life-changing for many, but these developments do not make up for that fact that simple, biological processes essential to our health and well-being are still not fully understood. Doctors and other healthcare professionals are compassionate, well intentioned, and truly this earth’s greatest blessing because of the many countless lives they save. But the lack of understanding and awareness, and the misinformation rampant in medical and alternative health communities, can sometimes lead people astray and they are either given the wrong diagnosis, incorrect information, the wrong medication or healing guidance, or no hope at all for healing. This has to be corrected for the sake of the millions of people suffering with illnesses and symptoms that medical and health communities don’t understand or know the truth about.

For example, medical science and medical research do not understand what happens to food once it enters your stomach. The mystery surrounding this part of the digestive process will not be discovered for many hundreds of years. One reason for this is the role God plays in this moment of the process. Instead of God, you may personally refer to a higher power, higher source, the universe, or the creator. Regardless of the wording that resonates with you, know that when food drops into your stomach, God is playing a part in the holy miracle that is digestion. Mysteries like this— that medical research and medical science have yet to discover— are the reason I work tirelessly to bring you the most accurate information available. Yes, medical science has a basic theoretical understanding of how enzymes, digestion and assimilation work, but what is known is feeble and crude compared to what really occurs. I am here to share the truth with you on as many mystery illnesses and symptoms as possible. SIBO is just one of them. You can learn about hundreds of others in my books Medical Medium and Thyroid Healing (which covers many conditions and illnesses that affect other areas, not just the thyroid), and in my hundreds of other radio shows and blog posts which you can find on my blog.

Building Up Your Hydrochloric Acid

Many doctors recommend using antibiotics to treat SIBO, but this tool often can serve to strengthen strep that’s already in the system over time. A major issue with strep is that it can quickly grow immune to antibiotics, and the frequent use of antibiotics can lead to an aggressive, mutated form. This has led to the emergence of a number of different varieties of streptococcus.

Decades ago, there were just two groups of strep with a small number of strains connected to each. Unfortunately, these groups of strep have grown more and more antibiotic resistant as time has progressed and now groups A and B have now turned into groups A through Z, and even surpassing the alphabet. Medical research and medical science currently are only aware of eight groups and they are unaware that there are many more. Not only is there more groups than A through Z, but each of these groups also contains a host of mutated strains offshooting from each group.

The frequent overuse of antibiotics has led to numerous antibiotic resistant strep strains. If you have gone to a doctor during the past forty years for anything from a cold, to an ear infection, to tonsillitis, to a host of other complaints, you were most likely prescribed antibiotics. If someone is given antibiotics throughout childhood and a true healing protocol is never implemented she or he is likely over time to develop a resistant strain of strep that can linger in the system into adulthood, causing acne, sinus problems, UTIs, pneumonia, and even appendicitis. There is a place for antibiotics in today’s world of medicine, such as in the case of critical conditions that are out of control. But the goal is to work on strengthening the immune system so you can try to avoid a severe medical emergency where antibiotics have to be used to at least stabilize the situation until natural methods can do deeper healing. It can be a vicious cycle or catch 22 for some people. The strep can grow immune to the antibiotics once more and health can once again worsen and become a critical emergency, for example, in the case of serious chronic urinary tract infections. and then antibiotics may need to be used again. This can trap someone in a very difficult cycle and this is what we are trying to avoid whenever possible.

Throughout the years, I have known many individuals suffering from severe UTIs, SIBO, acne and other strep-related health issues who used a mix of antibiotics in an attempt to pacify their symptoms and conditions. Sadly, antibiotics can only suppress symptoms for so long. Do not worry or fret if you’ve taken antibiotics in the past for strep-related issues. Fortunately, you are now learning the answers that can allow you to move forward and truly heal. One of the ways you can begin to knock down the strep in your system and heal from strep-related conditions like SIBO is by building up your hydrochloric acid.

When you build up your hydrochloric acid, you are not only helping kill off the bacteria in your stomach, but you are also killing off any bacteria that might be trying to get into your stomach. The reason for this is that hydrochloric acid works not only in the stomach, but also deep in the duodenum and small intestinal tract. This is another feature of hydrochloric acid that is completely unknown to medical research and medical science. The medical communities are still only looking at a small fraction of the blend of seven acids that make up the hydrochloric acid in your system. A handful of the six elements that have not yet been studied are in charge of working with your immune system to protect places other than the stomach, such as deep inside the small intestinal tract, where certain elements of the hydrochloric acid blend work to kill off bacteria. The numerous areas in your body where hydrochloric acid can provide powerful protection and support are just another reason why rebuilding hydrochloric acid is essential for vibrant health.

One simple, powerful way to build up hydrochloric acid in your body is to drink 16 oz of straight celery juice on an empty stomach each morning. When I was a child Spirit taught me this life-changing practice, so I spent a lifetime bringing this powerful tool to so many people who were looking for answers to their health issues. If you need motivation to start regularly juicing celery, check out the Medical Medium Instagram. Not only will you find people from all over the world extolling the impact celery juice has had on their healing journeys, but you will find an inspiring community of individuals seeking health and healing. I also share more about the powerful healing tool plain celery juice is in my books Medical Medium, Life-Changing Foods and Thyroid Healing.

Why is celery juice changing the lives of people around the world? Because the mineral salts found in celery help restore any missing elements in the blend of seven acids that together comprise your hydrochloric acid. These powerful mineral salts are actually poisonous to bacteria and once they restore your hydrochloric acid, the fortified blend of seven acids will be able to destroy SIBO, kill off any variety of strep, and enhance the immune system. This too is unknown to medical and alternative health communities.

Your immune system is constantly working to kill off viruses and bacteria, and it needs the support of specific mineral salts to do all it can for you. Certain cells in your immune system find enormous support from the mineral salts in celery. Similar mineral salts can be found in the stems of spinach. Once these mineral salts are gathered by your white blood cells, they are utilized to generate chemical compounds that work to rid the body of SIBO. It will be hundreds of years before medical science and medical research understand these phenomenal ways in which mineral salts assist the body. But now you know this truth I bring to you and you can move your healing process forward.

A celery’s mineral composition changes depending on where the celery is grown. When you buy celery from the store, you probably are unaware that your celery is coming from different farms at different times throughout the year. And, If you buy a celery juice while you’re out and about, the juice bar is likely to use celery harvested from a completely different farm than the celery found at your local grocery store. The reason I highlight this is because celery from different farms or different growing areas within a large farm can provide you with mineral salts that have slightly different compositions. The diversity of the mineral salts can be wonderfully supportive as you rebuild your hydrochloric acid. However, if you are only able to purchase celery from one small farm year-round, it will still provide you with ample benefits and support your healing efforts.

Redesigning Your Immune System

When you are working to overcome strep, not only is it important to rebuild your hydrochloric acid, but changing the structure of your immune system can be a powerful step forward as well. By restructuring the immune system, you are providing this system with the ability to create new chemical compounds. Because strep is not immune to these new chemical compounds, they are able to help destroy this bacteria and remove it from the body.

When your doctor or practitioner suggests that you are battling an overgrowth of bacteria, you may not be given all the essential information you need to take full control of you healing. A doctor who offers you an antibiotic for an ill-defined bacteria or an alternative practitioner who offers you herbs and suggests dietary changes, but isn’t able to expound on your illness with truth and exactitude are still not giving you the answers that you deserve to know. But this is still not a reason to avoid working with your doctor who is selflessly in the trenches every day providing you with support, compassion, and many other important medical resources and needs that benefit your health and wellbeing. SIBO and the underlying strep are certainly conquerable, but in order to overcome these issues, you must first know that these are the issues you are working to heal.

Once you know that your body is fighting off strep, you may be able to recall periods in the past where this very same bacterium gave rise to unpleasant symptoms or conditions. This information may bring to mind the strep throat you suffered from twenty years ago, the swollen tonsils you endured in your twenties, the miserable sinus infection you went through a while back, the severe cystic acne you battled as a teenager or adult, the styes that emerge every so often, or your most recent UTI. And, once you are able to fully identify what is going on in your system, you completely shift the trajectory of your healing process. If you are diagnosed with SIBO and you recognize that strep is wreaking havoc in your system, not only will you be able to connect the dots to other strep-related symptoms and conditions in your past, but you will be able to attack the underlying cause with a confidence and a precision you would not otherwise have.

As soon as you learn that streptococcus is behind SIBO, that understanding actually starts to break down the bacteria that’s wreaking havoc in your system. I cannot emphasize enough the transformative power of knowing what is truly wrong and knowing what you need to do to heal. This knowledge is life-changing! You may know that your thoughts affect your immune system, but this intensifies considerably once you know the exact culprit stirring up issues in your body. If you are suffering with SIBO, you now know that strep is in your system, and at the end of this article you will learn the foods and supplements you can take to knock down the bacteria and conquer this condition. In this moment, thanks to your newfound knowledge, you are actually redesigning your immune system to better go after the bug. Knowledge really is power and when you also know what to do with that knowledge to heal, you have the full equation for healing!

An identification process occurs where killer cells in our body are able to fully connect to the pathogen that’s triggering our symptoms or condition. Our immune system has the ability to modify and adjust, redirect itself, and absorb new information through frequencies of thought, but these attributes are just the beginning. Your immune system is also able to restructure chemical compounds— a fact that medical research and medical science will not stumble upon for three or more decades. Lymphocytes, a subset of the immune system’s white blood cells, use the healing information you learn and acknowledge as truth to create a new chemical compound that matches this understanding about what’s happening inside your body. This development allows your immune system to go after bugs that were once unaffected by its protective efforts.

Over the years, I’ve met some people who don’t want to know the information that can help them to truly heal. They would prefer to go their doctors, take the medication their doctors prescribe, temporarily alleviate their issues, and move on with their lives until a symptom worsens or another issue arises. Although this is an option people can choose to take, learning the information that can bring about genuine healing can be a life-changing gift. If the path towards healing feels overwhelming, know that you can take it one step at a time, one change at a time, and one day at a time. Shifting your diet and lifestyle choices can be a challenge so it is important to extend grace to yourself as you move through these changes.

Throughout this process, never forget this essentia truth— your body loves you and desperately wants you to heal and is doing everything it can to make that happen even before you stumble upon the answers and information that you need. The knowledge that your body is always working for you is incredibly powerful, and once you learn the true cause behind your health issues and the steps you can take to restore your body, your capacity to heal reaches an entirely new level.

Fruit Fear

I’ve discussed the developing fear around fruit and the misconceptions that feed this growing aversion in my first book, Medical Medium, and in the “Healing Power of Fruit" radio show. Unfortunately, this damaging trend continues to advance. Often people are incorrectly advised to avoid fruit if they are trying to rid their bodies of yeast, mold, and bacteria, or heal from symptoms and conditions such as Candida and SIBO. Sadly, this inaccurate advice can lead people to develop a severe fear of fruits— foods that are actually critical for genuine healing.

You may feel better if you replace your diet, high in processed foods, with lean protein, ample veggies, and no fruit, which is a common choice today, but the reason for this is that the foods you are now choosing to eat are far more clean than the highly processed options you had previously been consuming. However, if you begin to include fruit in your diet, even more healing can take place. You need fruit to truly thrive physically, and if you do not include fruit in your diet or work towards including more of it over time, your health will eventually falter. I’ve seen this happen to numerous people throughout my life. Some meat eaters avoid fruit and stick to lean animal protein and vegetables. Some vegans and vegetarians avoid fruit and stick to grains, vegetables and processed plant-based proteins or protein options, like soy products and protein powders. With either diet, these individuals are missing out on the countless life-giving benefits found in fruit.

Some people don’t feel the best when they start consuming fruit. They may complain that they are experiencing detox symptoms. The reason for this is that they probably are experiencing noticeable detox. Fruit is highly detoxifying and helps to rid our bodies of toxins that build up. Acids naturally found in fruit actually dissolve bacteria. This is one significant reason to consume fruit if you are trying to heal SIBO because the bacteria causing SIBO is destroyed by fruit acids.

Do not let books and articles citing biased information impact whether or not you nourish your body with some delicious ripe speckled bananas, figs, cherries, mangos, watermelon, and other healing fruits. Bananas can suffocate bacteria and draw it out of the body. They can be a particularly powerful support for someone who is working to overcome SIBO. As you move forward in your healing journey, try to release any fears you may have around fruits and embrace these powerful foods for the many gifts they can offer you! To learn more about the miraculous physical, emotional, and spiritual healing properties of different fruits, along with different leafy greens, vegetables, herbs, spices, and wild foods, check out my book Life-Changing Foods.

Supportive Foods

Bringing some simple herbs into your diet can help rid your body of SIBO and destroy the underlying strep. Some particularly powerful herbs to incorporate include rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano, parsley, and cilantro. Sprinkle some fresh thyme or sage onto whatever cooked or raw dishes you whip up. Powerful additions such as these can help protect you from having to turn to antibiotics for a bacteria-related health issue in the future. Regularly sipping on a mug of thyme tea can be beneficial as well. Oregano, either fresh or in capsule form, is a tremendous weapon against SIBO. The mineral salts in parsley are just one of the many reasons this herb is a wonderful addition to any diet. Juicing parsley and combining it with a celery juice base can be a fantastic drink for helping knock down SIBO. Cilantro is not only great at drawing heavy metals out of the body, but it works to destroy SIBO as well. You can easily bring a few of these herbs into one dish by adding thyme, rosemary, and sage into a tasty guacamole, hummus, salsa, or another kind of dip. However you choose to incorporate these herbs into your diet, know that you are helping to fight off SIBO and strep each time you do.

Supportive Supplements

Bringing certain supplements into your daily routine alongside the fruits, leafy greens, vegetables, and herbs you choose to eat can be a wonderful addition to your healing protocol. Pau d’arco in tincture form is a fantastic herb to include. Hyssop tea, hibiscus tea, and elderberry tea are three wonderful drink options that contain powerful anti-SIBO properties. Some of these supplement recommendations act similarly to celery juice in the body. Like celery juice, they support the immune system in its efforts to create the chemical compounds that kill off SIBO. A daily dose of olive leaf can be a fantastic addition. You can find recommendations for both a tincture and capsule form on my preferred supplements page. Vitamin C, which can be an incredibly supportive supplement for a number of symptoms and conditions, can bolster your immune system so that it has the fortitude to keep strep from wreaking havoc and triggering issues such as UTIs, styes, pelvic inflammatory problems, cystic acne, and sinus problems. Two supplements that I frequently recommend— a high-quality liquid zinc and B-12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin— are both important additions for anyone with SIBO. For more supplement suggestions to help address SIBO, check out my “Streptococcus Revealed” radio show and blog post.

Things to Avoid

If you suffer from SIBO, it is critical that you avoid chocolate until you have cleared the strep out of your system and are fully healed. If you do not have SIBO, strep, or other health problems you are working to heal and you absolutely love chocolate, then you might be able to include the occasional chocolate treat without experiencing issues. However, if you have been given a SIBO diagnosis, it is best to avoid chocolate for the time being. If you have SIBO, but adore chocolate and don’t see yourself giving up this treat, try to reduce your intake until you heal and choose a cleaner option without dairy or processed sugars or make your own at home with clean ingredients. I include a chocolate pomegranate bark recipe in my book Life-Changing Foods to provide chocolate lovers with a safer and cleaner option to enjoy sparingly if they really desire it. Chocolate cravings typically stem from a need for more calories and more glucose so increasing how much fruit you eat daily is very important. It can also be part of an addiction to the adrenaline that rushes when someone consumes chocolate or thinks about or gets near to chocolate if they are addicted to it. You can learn more about addictions and how this works in my radio shows and articles where I share brand new information that is not known by any medical, health, or psychology communities. You can find Part 1 here and Part 2 on my blog.

Moving Forward

If you are suffering with SIBO, this new information may be simultaneously surprising, exciting, and overwhelming. Fortunately, you can always return to this article and the other resources I provide to remind yourself of the truth and reignite your desire to seek genuine healing. Simply by reading this article, you have already started redesigning your immune system! Continuing to fill your mind with the truth will only serve to strengthen this life-enhancing development.

An additional step you can take is beginning to rebuild the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. To do this, try bringing straight celery juice into your morning routine on an empty stomach. Perhaps you start off juicing three times a week and continue to increase the number of mornings you juice as you grow more comfortable with the practice. I’m am proud of you for every single step you take towards healing, no matter how small it seems. Celebrate every victory— even purchasing a head of celery with the intention of making juice is a win! Restoring your body takes time, patience, and persistence, but with accurate information and the proper tools you are fully equipped to heal.

Healing Acne

Do you suffer with cystic acne? If so, you’ve probably tried a number of topical ointments, creams, scrubs, and other products to try and free yourself from this frustrating condition. It’s often considered normal to be plagued by pimples as a teenager, but many continue to battle this symptom well into adulthood. In both times of life, there is a reason behind the acne, and it’s not just hormones. Why are countless men and women affected by this frustrating skin issue? Like so many other chronic mystery symptoms and conditions, medical science and medical research have yet to figure out the answer. I revealed the underlying cause of cystic acne decades ago and have been able to help people rid themselves of this troubling and painful symptom. Hopefully the truths you learn here will keep you from being mislead by the misinformation found in books, on the internet, and in health-related television shows.

If you do not suffer from acne, you may not realize the frustration and pain this symptom can cause. Many of us live in cultures where a great deal of importance is placed on appearance for both men and women. It makes sense that a person would not only want to feel good, but would want clear skin as well. Especially as a teenager, there is a significant amount of pressure to look a certain way, and suffering from acne can lead someone to experience bullying, isolation, and other social problems. And, as an adult these same appearance-based pressures may still be present. Fortunately, there are numerous things you can bring into your diet and daily routine to help permanently clear up your cystic acne and I’ll share them with you below. First, let’s talk about the real underlying cause of acne.

Cystic Acne

Have you ever known someone who rarely washes his or her face, never uses creams or facial scrubs, and yet always seems to have clear, acne-free skin? There are actually people who may go months at a time without washing their face or hair and will not even get one clogged pore. Every once in awhile someone may get some clogged pores that result in a very mild case of acne, but this naturally occurring acne is rare. If you suffer from more than just the occasional clogged pore, there is most likely an underlying issue behind your acne. Regardless of whether someone suffers from a regular amount of acne that seems somewhat manageable, borderline cystic acne, or cystic acne, the underlying issue is the same and needs to be addressed for true healing to take place.

Acne Misconceptions

There are two prevalent misconceptions surrounding acne. First off, many acne sufferers are told that their bodies are overproducing sebum and dead skin cells, which can lead to clogged pores. Certain medical professionals suggest that if bacteria from the skin’s surface gets into these clogged pores, these areas will grow infected and inflamed. This is inaccurate. Acne is not made up of the naturally occurring oils in your body and these oils in no way lead to cystic acne.

A second acne misconception is that this symptom is hormonal. Oftentimes women are told that that their hormones are responsible for their acne. This is also incorrect information. Acne may be worse during puberty or during a woman’s menstrual cycle each month, but hormones are not the reason for the appearance or increase in acne during these specific times.

Blaming Hormones

Many medical professionals blame acne issues on hormones. This seems like a likely culprit because acne tends to worsen for many women during puberty and during certain times in the menstrual cycle. Some women, who may not have even suffered from acne as a teenager, may begin to struggle with acne later on in life around their menstruation each month. Medical communities are unaware that during a woman's menstrual cycle, 80% of the immune system is redirected towards assisting the reproductive system. That means that only 20% of the immune system is left to support any other health issues your body may be working to heal. As a result, if you normally suffer from migraine headaches, eczema, fatigue, aches and pains, brain fog, depression, joint pain, or any other symptom or condition, during your cycle it may reappear or worsen. This is of course true for acne too. During this time a woman’s lymphocytes lower and a wave of acne is more likely to arise. Next time pimples pop up during menstruation, recognize that it is not your hormones. There is another underlying cause that was already present and the shift in the focus of your immune system is affecting the severity of your breakout.

Acne & Antibiotics

If you have suffered with cystic acne, there is a likely chance that your doctor or dermatologist has recommended antibiotics. One reason for this maybe due to the fact that antibiotics have been recommended for virtually every health issue over the years. A second reason is that antibiotics, when they were first used to treat severe cystic acne decades ago, actually seemed to help the patients' skin clear. At this point, doctors did not know exactly why the antibiotics helped improve someone’s acne symptoms, but they did take note of the improvement that people seemed to be experiencing. This supposed cure medical doctors stumbled upon ignited the trend of using antibiotics to treat acne, and throughout the decades a variety of antibiotics, some more dangerous than others, have been created and heavily promoted for people suffering with all different severities of acne.

You maybe wondering why antibiotics seemed to help reduce acne decades ago. The reason is because acne and cystic acne are related to streptococcus and are bacterial in nature. However, that doesn’t mean that antibiotics are a real cure for acne or that they truly heal the root cause of the problem. This is obvious from the many people who still suffer with acne after taking many rounds of antibiotics.

Streptococcus

Medical communities aren’t aware that streptococcus is the cause a number of health issues including UTIs, pneumonia, SIBO, yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, migraines, styes, and sinus problems and it contributes to countless other health problems along with other factors. Along with these symptoms and conditions, cystic acne may also arise. Even if you do not have any other streptococcus-related symptoms and feel fairly healthy overall, you may still have chronic, low-grade streptococcus sitting in different areas of your lymphatic system stirring up acne issues. If you suffered from strep throat as a child, it is likely you will notice acne arise as a teenager or adult. It may not be a severe case and may only appear every so often depending on the severity of strep in your system. if you frequently suffered from bronchitis or pneumonia as a child, you may end up battling severe acne later in life as well. Other health issues as a child that may be a sign for acne later in life include tonsillitis and/or frequent styes. Medical science and research aren’t aware that streptococcus is the cause or a factor in any of the conditions.

When streptococcus is in your body it can move from the liver to your lymphatic system. Your body maybe able to keep the strep under control for the most part, but there might be times where the strep reaches the derma and works underneath it, which can lead to cystic acne. For this reason, if you continuously run yourself down by making unproductive food choices, leading a stressful lifestyle, and infrequently implementing supportive self-care practices, your immune system will have a difficult time managing any chronic strep in the lymphatic system. Because of this, the strep is more likely to push through to the surface of the derma. Lymphatic channels are all over the body and consequently acne may arise in a number of places. You may notice acne appear on your chest, shoulders, neck, face, head (top, back, sides or crown), hairline, breasts, armpits, legs, groin, and/or underneath and around the butt. If you suffer from both acne and eczema, you may not only have strep, but a heavy viral load in your liver as well.  The true cause of eczema is a complete mystery to medical communities. I cover this condition, along with psoriasis and rosacea, in my book Liver Rescue. I released a radio show and blog post to reveal what’s really causing this challenging condition.

It is challenging to truly eliminate strep bacteria. Lymphocytes, which play the biggest role in managing and lowering strep in the system, need a sufficient amount of zinc and supportive foods to best control and fight back against strep. Without proper fuel, the lymphocytes will not be able to prevent strep from reaching the derma.

Doctors are prescribing antibiotics for some of their patients who suffer from cystic acne. What these doctors don’t realize is that their patients’ cystic acne is due to antibiotic resistant strep building up and creating scar tissue underneath the derma. In these instances, the body creates pus-filled cysts above the derma in an attempt to fight against the bacteria while lymphocytes underneath the derma are trying to hunt down rogue strep bacteria.

Decades ago, there were just two groups of strep with a small number of strains connected to each. Medical research and medical science had no idea that the reason cystic acne was improving when antibiotics were administered back in the day was because these antibiotics were able to knock down the basic strains of strep people had in their systems at the time. Unfortunately, these groups of strep have grown more and more antibiotic resistant as time has progressed and now groups A and B have now turned into groups A through Z. Medical research and medical science may only have a certain number of groups recorded, but in reality there are groups A through Z which all contain a host of mutated strains offshooting from each group.

Although antibiotics were useful for cystic acne sufferers in the past, that is not always the case now. The frequent overuse of antibiotics has led to numerous antibiotic resistant strep strains. If you have gone to a doctor during the past forty years for anything from a cold, to an ear infection, to tonsillitis, to a host of other complaints, you were most likely prescribed antibiotics. If someone is given antibiotics throughout childhood and a true healing protocol is never implemented she or he is likely to develop a resistant strain of strep that can linger in the system into adulthood. The strep can grow immune to the antibiotics once more and health can once again worsen and become a critical emergency, and then antibiotics may need to be used again. This can trap someone in a very difficult cycle and this is what we are trying to avoid whenever possible.

Strep strains can also be picked up on doorknobs, on toilet seats, and in restaurants, which I discuss in my radio show about Food Poisoning. If you’re using the restroom at a restaurant or in another public area, I would recommend flushing the toilet prior to using it, even if the water looks clean, and placing paper on the seat as well. Little tricks like this can help protect you from picking up an unwanted variety of strep. You can also wipe your hands with handi-wipes when out of the house after touching public surfaces or doorknobs. The person can pass this strain onto partners through sexual contact or strengthen the strains they already have through antibiotic use.

This information is not meant to make you more fearful of things in this world. Rather, I hope it can bring you a sense of empowered awareness. If you do happen to pick up a strain of strep, or are battling chronic strep from childhood, know that you can build up your immune system, fight off this bacteria, clear up any acne or any other condition mentioned in this article that is caused by strep, and move forward.

Supportive Steps

If you have cystic acne, you also have strep lurking somewhere deep in your system. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help fight off this strep and start to heal the external symptom of this internal bacteria.

You’ve probably tried a number of topical creams, ointments, and maybe even antibiotics in an attempt to heal your acne. The reason antibiotics are unlikely to work is because once you ingest antibiotics, they usually sit in your liver and can feed low-levels of strep. This is true even if your cystic acne seems to improve for a period of time. Doctors may prescribe antibiotics to a cystic acne sufferer for six or nine months, up to as long as two to three years. These low levels of different antibiotics may help keep acne at bay for a period, but internally the problems is not truly being resolved and strep, the source of the cystic acne, may actually be growing stronger due to the antibiotic use. If you want to truly heal acne and eliminate the underlying cause, your best option is using natural antibacterials.

Healing Foods

Garlic is an incredible food for killing strep. Onion can kill both strep and H. pylori. The reason I mention H. pylori is because people with certain strains of strep usually have H. pylori as well. Greens such as mâche, spinach, kale, chard, butter leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, and green leaf lettuce work to help kill strep in the system over time. Regardless of the diet you choose to follow, make sure you are consuming an abundant mix of leafy greens. All greens possess an incredible assortment of medicinal qualities, which can’t be quantified, measured, or weighed by science. Cherries and all other berries contain antibacterial properties that help fight against strep. Bananas are a fantastic food to combat strep as well. Wild blueberries work to breakdown strep and heal other strep-related issues including SIBO, UTIs, pneumonia, styes, migraines, bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, or sinus problems. All herbs have antibacterial properties as well. Some herbs are more antibacterial than others, but all herbs can offer at least some value. Peppermint, oregano, thyme, sage, ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon are just some of the many herbs and spices you may want to incorporate into your diet as you work to eliminate strep. Other foods to bring into your diet while you fight off strep include cucumbers, tomatoes, red bell peppers, winter squash, sweet potatoes and other tuberous roots.

The more fresh fruits and vegetables you incorporate into your diet, the more fuel you will have to lower the levels of strep in your liver and lymphatic system. To learn how to properly support the liver, check out Liver Rescue.

Foods To Avoid

Some foods are incredible for fighting against strep, but other foods actually feed the bacteria. Making sure to avoid the foods that feed pathogens is critical if you are working to lower the strep in your system. Fortunately, I can share with you here which foods support healing and which ones may be detrimental to your healing. Here are a few of the most important foods to avoid while healing cystic acne:

Eggs: Eggs feed all different bugs, including streptococcus. This is the number one food to avoid if you are trying to knock down strep in your system. Streptococcus not only loves eating eggs, but when you eat eggs, your lymphatic system fills with mucus and is forced to try and clear this mucus out. If you put raw egg in a petri dish with any strain of streptococcus and observe it under a microscope, you will see a complete feeding frenzy take place. Sadly, this information is never discussed and mostly unknown so people suffering with chronic illness continue to endure the consequences of eating eggs. Even eggs from your own hens or your neighbor’s hen are best avoided while you work to heal cystic acne.

Gluten: You can easily find negative information about gluten with a quick internet search, but not all the information maybe accurate. The reason to avoid gluten when you have cystic acne is because gluten feeds strep. I brought this information to light for the first time and it is now circulating in various communities. It’s important that it continues to spread. Streptococcus doesn’t love gluten quite as much as it loves eggs, but it can still feed off this food and cause issues. Avoiding all products that contain gluten can be challenging, but it is worth it if you are working to heal your acne. Fortunately, more and more gluten-free options continue to appear each year.

Dairy Products: If you have strep in your system, avoiding dairy products such as cow’s milk, goat’s milk, cheese, butter, ghee, kefir, and yogurt for an extended period of time can be highly beneficial and even essential. The reason you have to eliminate these foods for a lengthy period of time is because strep can take a while to clear out of the system. If you’ve eaten dairy products up until now, it is likely you have deposits of various dairy products in your liver and other parts of your body. As you heal strep and eliminate unproductive food choices, the strep will start to look for old deposits of dairy products that can be found in crevices of the intestinal tract and elsewhere in the body. Overtime, with enough healing foods and a proper supplement protocol, you can clear out these old, damaging deposits as well, and further knock down the strep in your system.

Canola Oil: Try avoiding canola oil whenever possible as it also feeds strep and it’s highly inflammatory.

Corn Products: Corn, in any amount, can feed strep in your system. Avoid corn and corn products while healing your cystic acne.

You can read more about these foods and why it’s so important to avoid them for acne and all other health symptoms and conditions in my books Medical Medium, Life-Changing Foods and Thyroid Healing.

By eliminating these foods, you stop supplying the strep in your system with the fuel it needs to cause havoc in the lymphatic system and move through to the surface of the derma where cystic acne arises. It usually takes some time for acne to completely clear, but taking out these unproductive foods and bringing in more healing foods and supplements can make a major difference. Have patience and move forward with the knowledge that you are fighting off the true underlying cause of your acne.

Healing Supplements & Teas

Immune system support is critical as you battle strep. A high-quality zinc, high-quality vitamin C, and lemon balm are all fantastic immune system supporters. Ample vitamin C is essential for strengthening the immune system and maintaining adequate zinc reserves is crucial as well. Lemon balm can kill off strep, lower Epstein-Barr, and rebuild the immune system. This antiviral and antibacterial powerhouse is an incredible weapon for cystic acne sufferers. You can use a tincture, or make lemon balm tea and drink it throughout the day.

Selenium can help repair tissue that’s been damaged by strep. Goldenseal is a powerful herb that is most beneficial when used with breaks in-between. Without breaks, this supplement may stop offering as powerful of support, but strep will not grow resistant to goldenseal if adequate breaks are allowed between use. Work with a doctor or practitioner to figure out a healthy dosage you can try for two weeks at a time with two week breaks in between.

Licorice root and oregano oil are two other supplements that can be beneficial. Because every herb is antibacterial, bringing in some simple herbal teas can be miraculous. A daily cup of chamomile or peppermint can help as you fight to lower the strep in your system. If you want to see the supplements I recommend, check out the Medical Medium Preferred Supplements page

You can also find more of the important supplements and herbs for strep in my radio show and article Streptococcus Revealed. Don't miss this extra information as it's a critical part of the healing picture.

If you are currently on an antibiotic to help control your cystic acne and want to change your protocol, it is important that you work with an understanding doctor or practitioner who can help you safely transition to a new protocol. Strep has never built up a resistance towards any fruit, vegetable, herb, or spice, so bringing these in can have a powerful impact against this bug. With the correct foods and supplements, you have the power to build up your immune system, kill off any strep or other havoc-wreaking bugs, and live your life free from cystic acne.

If you tried to clear up your cystic acne in the past by incorporating fresh fruits and veggies, but did not see much improvement, try bringing even more fruits and vegetables into your diet, and start being mindful of the other foods you consume. If you are an avid meat eater, try to lower the amount of meat you consume, so that you have more room to fill your diet with ample amounts of the bacteria-fighting fruits, leafy greens and veggies listed above. If you are a vegetarian, try to keep the amount of cheese and dairy you consume as minimal as possible or remove it entirely while you’re healing and bring in ample fruits, leafy greens and vegetables. If you are plant-based, make sure your diet is not too grain, nut, or seed heavy, so that fruits, leafy greens and veggies can take center stage. Don’t allow unproductive foods to fill up your stomach and intestinal tract. Make space for the highly productive, disease fighting foods that give you a chance to live a healthy, vibrant life.

Moving Forward

You may have heard the saying, “without your health what do you have?”. Although some people believe that without your health, you have nothing, I do not support this idea. I believe that if you are struggling with health issues, and do not feel like you are thriving, you still have the opportunity to get your health back, and you are also so much more than your health. Besides this opportunity to reclaim your health and vitality, you also have your wonderful soul, your loving heart, good intentions, compassion, and love. Hold on to all these things you do have as you seize your opportunity to truly heal.

While working to heal your cystic acne, take one day at a time and do not lose hope. Healing strep may take patience and persistence, but with the right healing protocol in place know that you are on the way to embracing a life free of acne. GIve yourself plenty of time to heal and have faith. I hope that this information not only empowers you, but is the start of helping you become an expert about a host of chronic mystery symptoms and conditions. As you bring more and more pieces of the protocol into your life, know that you are healing more than just your cystic acne. The healing suggestions laid out in this article can transform your health in countless ways and leave you thriving more than you ever have before!

If you’ve ever wandered the supplement aisle of a health food store, you may have come across a skin, hair, and nails formula. Formulas like this often promise stronger nails, perfect skin, and lustrous hair— qualities many of us would love. Unfortunately, these alluring supplements usually contain minuscule amounts of beneficial ingredients alongside a host of unfavorable ones. Instead of being lured into buying products that won’t actually fix the appearance of your skin, hair, or nails, I am here to share with you the real reasons behind skin blemishes, damaged hair, and brittle nails. Once you know the truth about these issues you can begin to heal your body from the inside out and come away with not only stronger nails, shinier hair, and better skin, but a wellness that no single product could ever offer.

Skin

Do you have wrinkles, blemishes, or under eye circles? If these skin issues emerge, people typically search for various remedies and creams to try and improve the condition of their skin. Although certain practices can be somewhat helpful, usually people turn to ineffective fixes that don’t address the origins of their skin issues.

Creams & Tonics

Oftentimes people turn to lotions and tonics to help treat their skin, but these topical treatments will not offer the true healing people are after. There are some antiviral and anticancer skin salves that you can create to help support skin issues, and there are creams that will mildly soften and moisturize the skin, but these ointments can only offer so much support. To really tackle skin problems you must work on healing the underlying issues.

Below the Surface

When it comes to figuring out why we have loose skin, blemishes, liver spots, and other skin problems, we have to dive below the surface and assess what’s going on underneath the epidermis.

The Liver

The health of your liver plays a huge role in the health of your skin. The more toxic your liver is, the more likely you are to develop wrinkles and other skin problems that are typically associated with aging. Many people’s livers are burdened with toxins, and often people enter the world with toxins already built up in this organ from plastics, petrol oil, DDT, toxic heavy metals and other toxins that are passed onto us from our forefathers. I discuss this unknown truth and many others in my books Medical MediumLife-Changing Foods, and Liver Rescue and also in my book Thyroid Healing. Cleaning out the toxins from your toxin-saturated liver is an essential part of addressing skin issues.

Many things are happening inside your liver. The tremendous amount of blood that floods into the liver not only contains oxygen and nutrients, but also has toxins that the liver must filter out. Once the liver cleanses and processes the blood, it then sends that blood to various areas of the body. If the liver directs blood that contains unfavorable material to the skin you may find that liver spots, wrinkles, flabby skin or other issues develop. Some people inherit incredibly toxic livers and as a result are forced to deal with major skin, hair, and nail issues, sometimes from early in life. Fortunately, regardless of your toxin load, there are measures you can take to clean up your liver and heal your skin!

Adrenaline

Adrenaline can create liver issues and negatively affect the health of your skin. If you’ve had to endure a number of acute stressors early on in life, it is likely that adrenaline has negatively impacted numerous organs, including your liver. When emotionally-charged situations occur, such as a the loss of a loved one, broken trust, or a financial hardship, corrosive adrenaline floods your system, hinders the liver, and can impact your skin. Working to support your adrenals through grazing and the use of certain supplements and nourishing foods is a key part of revitalizing your skin.

Support for Your Skin

There are a number of things you can do to aid your adrenals, cleanse your liver and offer your skin incredible support. Here are just a few things to be mindful of as you work to improve your skin and overall health.

While covering your eyes with cucumbers during a spa treatment may feel nice and relaxing, drinking 16oz of straight cucumber juice will actually do far more to support your skin. Sipping on plain cucumber juice once a day is a phenomenal practice for promoting both liver and skin health.

Avoid fried foods, eggs, and dairy, and try to keep your fat intake low. Your liver can be burdened by too much fat in the diet and the focus for skin health needs to be on supporting the liver. If you are a meat eater, try to reduce the amount of animal protein you consume by only including it once a day. Cut out pork and instead opt for pasture-raised chicken and turkey breast, 100% grass-fed beef and other lean meats that are organic and antibiotic-free. If you choose to include fish in your diet, some better choices include salmon, halibut, and haddock. If you are able to cut your animal protein consumption in half this will lower your overall fat intake and leave room in your diet for an abundance of liver-cleansing fruits, leafy greens and vegetables. People who notice improvements in their skin when they cut out pastries, packaged goods, fried foods, and unproductive oils, will likely note even greater developments once they reduce the amount of animal protein in their diets. If you eat a plant based diet, you can reduce your plant fats by 50% also. For example, you can minimize oils and reduce nuts and seeds to just a couple of tablespoons per day. Or if you’re eating a lot of avocadoes, you could reduce consumption to 1/2 to 1 avocado per day. It’s important to increase your fruits and veggies significantly no matter which fats you reduce to ensure you are still consuming enough calories. If you feel sluggish or low energy after you reduce animal protein or any kind of fats in your diet, it could very well be because you are not eating enough calories from fruits, leafy greens, vegetables and other healthy foods to make up for the caloric drop.

Reducing the fat in your diet will also make space to bring in more beta-carotene-rich foods. Beta-carotene is critical for healthy skin and is found in a number of fruits and vegetables. When you provide your body with carotenes, the liver is able to send carotene-rich blood through the subcutaneous fat up to the skin. The liver is also able to label and slightly alter the carotene so that it is capable of surviving the trip to the derma. The liver, a master at manipulating chemical compounds, allows for a completely different form of methylation than medical science and medical research are currently familiar with. When the liver knows carotenes are available to send to the skin, it fuels the delivery differently by making sure that there is ample oxygen in the blood that supplies the carotenes to the derma. Medical research and medical science have not yet discovered this incredible process. Foods high in beta-carotene include mangoes, papayas, mamey sapote, sweet potatoes, and leafy greens such as spinach. In addition, raspberries and colorful melon varieties are rich in beta-carotene. Whether you slice up a papaya for breakfast or munch on some mangoes before bed, your skin will appreciate whatever carotenes you are able to bring into your diet.

Eating foods that contain silica is important as well. It will be years before medical science and medical research discover that there are two different kinds of silica. One type of silica offers tremendous support for the bones while the other variety is particularly helpful for the skin. This second variety of silica can be found in vegetables such as asparagus and artichokes. The stems of kale also contain this silica. Horsetail and nettle possess both varieties of silica and when you ingest either herb, your liver separates out the two kinds of silica and delivers each to the area they best support. If you’re looking to have tight, healthy skin, bringing in the variety of silica that offers powerful skin support is essential. A high-quality silica supplement that focuses on supporting bone health can be beneficial as well. This supplement typically offers a number of extra benefits alongside bone health support.

Ridding your liver of pesticides, heavy metals, and other toxins can transform the health of your liver and skin. One great way to remove these toxins is by consuming the top five foods for detoxifying heavy metals from the body daily— wild blueberries, cilantro, spirulina, barley grass juice extract powder, and Atlantic dulse. Consistently including all of these components in your daily diet can be a powerful way to reclaim your health and support your skin. To learn more about the heavy metal detox check out my blog post on heavy metal detox.

You’ve probably heard about the importance of hydration when it comes to the health of your skin, and I want to highlight this fact. Hydration is essential. People who are chronically dehydrated can actually have skin that is deficient of water. Bringing lemon water and other healing liquids into your day like fresh fruit and vegetable juices can be a wonderful step towards better hydration and better skin.

Hair

Everyone wants strong, healthy hair, but more often than not people suffer from hair issues that leave them feeling confused and frustrated. Just like the health of your skin, the health of your hair is largely due to issues deep below the surface. In this section, you will discover some of the factors that play a role in creating your hair problems and steps you can take to transform the health of your locks.

Adrenaline & Emotional Stress

Adrenaline from emotional events and life stressors can have a major impact on the health of your hair. When you experience a painful situation or serious hardship, adrenaline floods your system and not only impacts the health of your liver and skin, but can negatively affect your hair as well. If you experience the loss of a loved one, go through a divorce or breakup, or suffer a terrible betrayal, your hair may develop a straw-like texture and fall out. These symptoms can occur after the hardship takes place and may continue for a period of time unless you provide your body with the nourishment and support it needs. A protein-packed hair care product is not going to give your hair the restoration you hope for. One of the best actions you can take to restore your hair is to support your adrenals. Your hair will be at its best when your adrenals are healthy. Learn more about adrenal fatigue in my first book, Medical Medium, and learn some of the best ways to start nourishing your adrenals here.

Alopecia

Medical experts incorrectly believe alopecia is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles that generate hair growth. This misinformation puts the blame on the patient when the truth is, medical research and medical science don’t actually know what triggers alopecia. Eventually the truth that I’ve brought to light will be discovered— that alopecia is an adrenal issue.

Medical research and science is unaware that adrenaline is made up of a complicated group of hormones that have not yet been identified. If someone has alopecia, his or her adrenals are lacking one of the undocumented hormones that make up part of the 56 different blends of adrenaline that I detail in my book Medical Medium. Ashwagandha can be a beneficial supplement for helping to restore a trace of the missing hormone. I’ve worked with people who had alopecia, and once they addressed the issues connected to their adrenal health, their hair was able to grow back.

Liver Health

Like your adrenals, the health of your liver impacts the health of your hair. If you have a toxic, overburdened liver, you are more likely to experience hair problems. In these instances, hair loss or issues such as dermatitis, eczema, or psoriasis on the scalp may arise.

Supportive Supplements & Teas

A skin, hair, and nails formula may have a minuscule amount of beneficial ingredients such as horsetail or nettle leaf, but it is also usually packed with fillers and other components that do not contribute to the health of your skin, hair, or nails. Whether you have alopecia or just want to better support your hair, try incorporating ashwagandha in your supplement protocol. This powerful herb can support your adrenals and transform the health of your hair. Nettle leaf tea or tincture and lemon balm tea or tincture are two other supplements that can help restore the hair. Milk thistle may be another supplement you want to include if you are looking to support your liver and revitalize your hair. A high-quality zinc sulfate is beneficial for a host of health issues, including hair, skin, and nail health. Your hair can also benefit from the addition of spirulina and barley grass juice extract powder in your diet. Check out high-quality supplement recommendations on the Medical Medium preferred supplements page.

Nails

The state of your nails can tell you a lot more about your overall health than you may realize. Although having divots or ridges in your nails may be annoying, they can actually be extremely helpful signs of internal issues that need to be addressed.

Zinc Deficiencies, Adrenaline, & Liver Issues

Do your nails have white spots, divots, ridges, pockets, bubbles, or vanishing half moons? A long-standing zinc deficiency is typically part of the reason for nail issues. The second part of the problem is usually liver-related. Often when you experience an emotionally-charged situation, whether it be falling in love for the first time or enduring the aftermath of a breakup for example, adrenaline surges through your system and can break down the body if proper adrenal support is not in place. The frequent occurrence of adrenaline rushes can harm the liver and lead to thin, brittle, unhealthy nails. Fortunately, there are a number of supportive supplements and foods you can incorporate to help restore the underlying issues that result in poor nail health.

Supportive Supplements

When it comes to restoring your nails, we often become focused on having a protein deficiency. Instead, shift your focus to providing your body with the key vitamins and minerals that can help truly revitalize your nails.

Zinc is a critical supplement to incorporate if you are working to restore your nails. Pumpkin seeds, which are often said to be high in zinc, contain some of this mineral and can be a great addition to your diet. However, when you are severely zinc deficient, a zinc supplement is essential. Selenium is another great supplement choice for supporting nail health. Ionic manganese free of citric acid can be beneficial as well. Other supplements to consider incorporating include molybdenum and silica. If you work with a practitioner to bring in these supplements and support your liver and adrenals through a fruit, leafy green and veggie-filled diet, you will begin to notice positive changes in your nails and overall health in time.

The Truth About Protein

Many medical professionals presently believe that increased protein consumption is the answer for better skin, hair, and nails, but this is not entirely true. High quality protein, which can easily be procured from spirulina, barley grass juice extract powder, and foods such as kale, spinach, lentils, black beans, and walnuts is valuable, but overloading the liver with large quantities of protein can actually tire out this organ and undermine the health of your skin, hair, and nails. Thousands of different compounds and chemical functions play a role in the health of your skin, hair, and nails, and it is detrimental to exclusively champion protein as the most important element for skin, hair and nail health. Be mindful of the amount of protein you incorporate in your diet and realize that too much protein can have negative effects on your liver and as a result, your skin, hair and nails. Try to move your focus from protein to the particular foods and supplements that can offer genuine support. You can also learn more on my Truth About Protein radio show.

The Truth About Fish Oil Supplements

Omega-3 fish oil has been widely promoted as a support for hair, skin, and nail health, but this information is misguided. The highly concentrated mercury found in krill and fish oil supplements only serves to harm the body. Even products that claims to be mercury-free still contain this toxic heavy metal. Regardless of the diet you choose to follow, switch out your fish oil supplement for a plant-based omega-3. This doesn’t mean you can’t eat certain fish you enjoy, like salmon, because a serving of fish has less mercury than concentrated fish oil. For more information on fish oil supplements check out the “What Not to Eat” chapter in Medical Medium.

Supportive Foods for the Skin, Hair, & Nails

The food choices you make can have an incredible impact on the health of your skin, hair, and nails. If you don’t want to include supplements in your healing protocol at this time, know that bringing the right foods into your diet will still help enormously. Because the liver and the adrenal glands play major roles in skin, hair, and nail health, choosing foods that support these parts of the body is critical. Try to incorporate lettuces such as red leaf and butter leaf which can provide your body with powerful omega-3s. You can also find wonderful omega-3s in hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and walnuts. Certain juices like celery and cucumber can offer invaluable liver support. Figs are wonderful for hair health, as well as skin health, nail health, and any issues a woman may have with her reproductive system. If you aren’t able to find fresh figs, try to bring a few organic dried figs into your diet. Wild blueberries offer the most powerful support for your liver of any food in existence. The being said, all different kinds of berries, including cherries, are good for your liver and can support hair, skin, and nail health. Figs, avocados, and bananas are three foods that are rich in potassium, an essential element for the skin. Bananas are fantastic at helping flush out the liver, cleanse the intestinal tract, and support hair, skin, and nail health. Papayas and mangoes are particularly helpful for supporting the skin. If you choose to sprout lentils, the lentil divides into a carbohydrate and is stored as glycogen in the body that offers incredible support for your skin, hair, and nails. Do you eat a protein-heavy diet? Try making space for some of the foods that will help you heal by substituting some of your protein-dense choices for more of these different fresh fruits and veggies that can offer your skin, hair, and nails some amazing benefits.

Moving Forward

Becoming curious about what’s going on underneath the surface is important when you are working to transform the health of your skin, hair, and nails. Could your liver need support? Have your adrenals been under severe strain? Asking these kinds of questions and learning more about the symptoms that point toward an underlying issue can help you address the root issues causing skin, hair, and nail issues. You will also be helping other health issues that you may not be aware of. If you are concerned about the wrinkles on your face, the white spots on your nails, or the straw-like texture of your hair, begin to explore and incorporate the supplements and foods that can actually heal the underlying causes of your skin, hair, and nail issues. Healing your body from the inside out takes knowing the truths that I share here and in my books and on my blog, applying the correct protocol and having patience and persistence, but you will be rewarded for your efforts with the amazing gift of better health. Reach out for support along your journey, hold onto the truths shared here, and never let go of the fact that your body is capable of true healing!

Pet Health

Our pets can bring us so much joy, peace, and companionship, and we want to provide them with the best care possible. Unfortunately, like humans, there are a number of health issues our pets can encounter throughout their lives. Whether your pet is up against a neurological condition, nervous system or immune system issue, ALS or AIDS diagnosis, a thyroid problem, cancer, chronic UTIs, lipomas, allergies, hot spots, teeth issues, bad breath, or deficiencies of any kind, there are steps that you can take to support your animal through their health struggles and help them to be the healthiest they can be. I know you consider your pet a part of your family and would do whatever you can to be there for your animal. This article will address common health issues that pets experience, highlight some great supplement and food recommendations, and give you a brief glimpse into the care and support I offer my own four-legged family members.

August’s Story

In the first chapter of my book Medical Medium, I tell the miraculous story of when I saved my dog, August, thanks to the guidance of Spirit and the tremendous support of angelic power. Years ago, we were in New England, taking a walk along the shore of an inlet. August bounded into the frigid water to play and ended up getting stuck far out in the tumultuous waves due to the rough current and a patch of seaweed blocking her from returning to shore. I immediately ripped off my boots and jacket and dove into the bitter cold water, hoping to save my precious loved one and best friend.

When I was about halfway to August, Spirit instructed me to return to shore (you can read more about who Spirit is in my first book Medical Medium also.) I refused, but Spirit insisted, telling me I was already losing the capacity to function because of the frigid waters and would not be able to save August. August had helped me stay strong throughout so much of my life, and I cracked under the thought of losing my beloved companion, yelling out to Spirit in frustration and anger as I was struggling to stay afloat.

At this point, I could no longer feel my body. Orchestrating a miracle for me, Spirit changed his instructions and instead of insisting I head towards the shore, Spirit told me to swim out another fifteen feet. Only because of Spirit helping me was I able to push myself further out into the water. Once I had traveled further into the treacherous bay, I followed Spirit’s instructions to take a deep breath and swim eight feet below the surface. Something other than the adrenaline that was already coursing through my system seemed to infuse my body at this point. Eight feet under water, I opened my eyes and saw August, with her red collar around her neck, in the arms of a female Angel. In a state of euphoria as the angel handed me August, I began to pull her up to the surface of the water. When we emerged, Spirit was standing on top of the water looking directly at me. In my entire lifetime of hearing Spirit constantly talking to me this was only the second time I’d ever seen Spirit. The first time was at age four when I received my gift. At this point, my fear had passed and immense relief and gratitude washed over me until Spirit told me that we were out of time, the Angel was leaving and that I must hurry back to shore while the angelic power was still present. At this moment it dawned on me that the only reason I was able to move through the freezing cold waters was due to the powerful angelic assistance. As relief turned into panic again, I fought my way with everything I had left in me to get back to shore with August, completely drained and hypothermic, but grateful we both survived.

I thanked Spirit for helping me with August’s miraculous rescue and I realized it was the first time I’d ever said thank you to Spirit in my life. Largely because of this emotional event, after many years of bitterness and frustration about the gift I’d been given, I decided to stay committed to spreading the healing information Spirit relayed to me everyday despite the hardships I endured so many years ago. I owed Spirit, and I owe all of you who desperately need accurate healing information to bring you the truth so you and your loved ones can finally heal. My dog, August, was a critical part of that life-changing commitment.

I tell this story to highlight just how important my pets are to me. They are part of my family, and I would do whatever I could to save their lives. They have had an impact on some of the most important moments in my life, and I don’t know where I would be without them. When I share the guidance and truth in this article, I share it with all the care and love I have for my pets and all the pets around the world.

Creating Support

There are a number of health issues you have to watch out for as a pet owner, and because your pet can’t describe the pain or problems they may be experiencing, it is essential that you surround yourself and your pet with proper support. This extra support can allow you to have greater insight into your pet’s health and wellness.

Working with a compassionate, understanding veterinarian is crucial. In my opinion, holistic veterinarians were often dismissed by the veterinarian community in years past. Fortunately, times have changed and holistic veterinarians no longer experience the exclusion they once did. Some people opt for a holistic vet, while others choose to work with a more conventionally-minded veterinarian. Presently, many veterinarians seem to be implementing a mix of both allopathic and holistic ideas in their practices. Regardless of what type of veterinarian you choose to work with, it is critical you find a veterinarian that you love and respect, and someone who will work with you to best support your pup, kitty, or other precious pet.

A Helpful Resource

Dr. Jeff Feinman is an amazing holistic veterinarian with thirty years of experience who offers a number of incredible resources on his website holisticactions.com. He is brilliant, compassionate, and provides people with a number of informative materials to help owners best support and empower their animal companions. I highly recommend checking out the informative articles and blog posts on his website, and, if you are interested, join his online Holistic Pet Care Community and be a part of his empowering online meetings. As a pet owner, the more assistance you can find, the better, and Dr. Feinman offers some incredible online support.

Therapy Companions

If you have a pet in your life, you probably already know in your heart and soul that they make wonderful therapy companions. Whether it be a dog, cat, bird, horse, rabbit, or other cuddly critter, your pet can help you heal.

Pets actually stimulate your immune system and can play a part in helping heal disease and illness. It may be surprising to learn that your natural killer cells can become more responsive when around your pets. Your platelets are also incredibly responsive, and having a pet in your life can positively stimulate platelet production if you’re someone struggling with a low platelet condition. A pet can help your adrenals calm down and balance out. Yes, there is the uncommon instance where your dog tears up the couch, rips the stuffing out, and eats it. During these rare occasions, your adrenals may surge as you frantically worry about what your dog ate and observe the state of your couch. But, these temporary, infrequent moments of frustration are far outweighed by the countless moments where the time spent with your pet actually brings incredible healing for your adrenals, immune system, and more.

If you don’t have a pet, but you scratch the back of your neighbor's dog or pet your friend’s cat, you are still stimulating your immune system. Just touching an animal or briefly cuddling with an animal can elicit positive responses in the body.

Cysts, Tumors & Nodules

Many animals develop cysts, tumors, and nodules during their lifetimes. Lipomas can grow quite large in both cats and dogs. If your pet has a lipoma, working to stop the fatty tumor’s growth is a great first step. Angiogenesis occurs during the development of a lipoma and tiny tentacle-like roots extending out from the tumor constantly search for food. Consequently, if you feed your animals toxic foods that fuel the lipoma, its roots will draw these foods in and it will continue to grow. However, taking certain toxic foods out of your pet’s diet can halt the the growth of this fatty lump.

GMO foods are especially good fuel for lipomas and can trigger the aggressive growth of these tumors, so try to make your pet’s diet GMO-free if possible. If you choose to feed your dog, cat, or other animal grains, make sure the grains are non-GMO. If your pet has serious lipoma issues, keeping his or her diet completely grain-free may be ideal during the healing process. If you struggle financially and can only afford to feed your dog food that contains some unproductive ingredients, do not stress yourself out. I fully support you, and know you are doing the best you possibly can for your pet. However, if you have the financial means to provide your dog with GMO-free food, I would recommend making this dietary choice.

Adding a few different supplements to your pet’s daily routine can also help reduce his or her lipoma. Vitamin C, such as Ester-C, is a great choice for helping prevent and combat lipomas. Olive leaf is another amazing supplement to try. The lipoma draws up certain phytochemicals found in olive leaf which slow down and interfere with the growth of the fatty tumor. You may want to incorporate pau d’arco as well, another supplement that can help slow down a lipoma’s growth.

Hot Spots

If your dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, or other animal badly itch and bite their fur out in certain places, he or she may be suffering from hot spots. Typically the formation of hot spots is a reaction to something in the animal’s diet. Try switching your pet’s food to choices that may be better for them and be mindful that It may take six to eight weeks to notice changes. If you don’t notice any difference after this period of time, try changing your pet’s food a second time. Reassess after the next six to eight week period, and if you are still not seeing changes, try changing up his or her diet once again. Sometimes pets can grow fond of one food and not be very receptive to dietary changes, but if you are working to rid your pet of hot spots, switching up his or her food is the best course of action.

Oftentimes, unhealthy food is contributing to the development of hot spots. A food may have fillers or other unproductive ingredients that play a part in creating this issue. Depending on your pet’s unique needs and health conditions, changing up his or her food, even if it is a very clean, healthy food, can help to break up the hot spot and fur loss cycle. Bringing vitamin C into your pet’s daily protocol can be incredibly beneficial as you work to heal this health issue. A high-quality supplement may not heal the hot spot reactions, but it can help expedite the healing of any wounds that form.

UTIs & Teeth Issues

Helping your cat, dog, or other animal heal from a UTI can be a challenging situation. Chronic UTIs can be especially painful for an animal. Building up your pet’s immune system with vitamin C is an essential preventative measure. Olive leaf is another powerful supplement to incorporate. Pau d’arco is not only great for UTI support, but also helps with any teeth problems your pet may be experiencing. Similarly, a tiny bit of propolis can be helpful for UTIs, teeth issues, and gum infections. Adding small amounts of fresh oregano and parsley into your pets food can also help with UTIs. The resource I mentioned earlier could be helpful for support with conditions such as UTIs also. You can check it out here.

Heart Problems

If your pet suffers from heart disease or vascular issues, it is critical you add coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C into his or her supplement protocol. These supplements offer wonderful baseline supports. From here, you can work with your holistic veterinarian to figure out what particular supplements your pet needs for his or her unique issue.

How I Care For My Dogs

Below are a few things I do to care for my dogs. Hopefully this information provides you with some new ideas and insight regardless of the kind of pet you own. If you want to implement some of these ideas, take the information to your vet and discuss it with him or her to see which new practices would be best for your animal.

Raw Food

I’ve fed raw meat, vegetables and fruits to every dog I’ve had since childhood. Over thirty years ago, this was considered reckless and dangerous, and if you told your veterinarian, neighbour, or a stranger what you were doing, there was the possibility that they would contact services to have your animal taken away. Fortunately, this particular diet, at one time considered highly unconventional, has grown immensely popular in recent years to the point where raw food and dehydrated raw food now line the fridges and shelves of pet stores, and almost all conventional and holistic vets praise this dietary choice as being a great option. Why was raw food for animals frowned upon decades ago? Ironically enough, for the same reason any raw fruits and vegetables were frowned upon even for humans many years ago. There was such a great amount of misinformation on these healing foods that they were often considered to be bad choices. We have come a long way since then, however there is still an enormous amount of misinformation about these foods today even though they are generally recognized to be healthy choices. You can read the Fruit Fear chapter in my book, Medical Medium, to understand part of this issue.

My dogs have always had good results from eating raw, grass fed meat. Try your best to avoid factory farmed meat, and stick with high-quality, grass fed varieties whenever possible. You will likely find grass fed options at a number of places including health food stores and supermarkets. Instead of purchasing ground meat, opt for a whole, grass fed selection which typically contains less bacteria. Fortunately, dogs are able to handle a certain level of bacteria thanks to the unique acids in their stomachs.

In various Medical Medium resources including my first book, Medical Medium, I’ve mentioned the seven acids that make up your stomach's hydrochloric acid. This blend is unique to humans. Dogs have their own blend, which is made up of twenty acids, and cats have a similar combination. Medical science and medical research have yet to discover the truth about our stomach’s hydrochloric acid or the truth about the hydrochloric acid found in our carnivorous canine and feline friends.

If your pet is a carnivore, he or she may really enjoy and benefit from raw meaty bones. These are constant staples for my dogs. Marrow bones, which are loaded with minerals that are ideal for dogs, cats, and other carnivorous pets, are particularly incredible. The mineral composition inside these bones can transform the health of your dog, cat or other carnivorous pet. You can always consult your vet if you wish to feed your pets raw meaty bones. It’s important to never feed your pet cooked bones because they can splinter and be hazardous to your animal and can’t be digested.

If you’ve always fed your pet cooked meat and veggies, and have never encountered food-related health issues, you can definitely continue providing your pet with a cooked diet, with the exception of cooked bones. Sweet potatoes can be an especially great cooked vegetable option. If health issues do arise and you want to try out a new diet, bringing in some raw food might be beneficial.

At present, there are numerous, high-quality raw food sources to choose from. The Honest Kitchen company sells raw, dehydrated food for cats and dogs. For these meals, you can just add a little water and have a tasty, wholesome dish for your dog or cat in no time. You can find their cat food here and dog food here and browse through their different products. If you're looking for some fun, tasty treats for your dog, check out the coconut-based, grain-free treats and biscuits by K9 Granola Factory.

Homemade Meals

In addition to the raw meat, I like to give my dogs homemade meals as well. Around lunchtime, I like to make my dogs a mash by throwing an apple and two celery sticks into the food processor for each dog. I will often add a little barley grass juice extract powder and a little B-12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin as well. This apple celery mash is just one example of the lunches I like to whip up for my dogs.

I try to incorporate wild blueberries into my dogs’ diet every single day, and often grind up a pint of defrosted frozen wild blueberries in their lunchtime mash. If you are looking for another way to protect your pet’s immune system, sprinkle a touch of flaxseed meal or chia seed meal into your dog’s food as well. Make sure not to give your animal too much of either because he or she may experience some bloating.

Around dinnertime, I’ll give my dogs larger-sized, raw, meaty, marrow bones. I’ll let them chew on the bones a bit, rip off some meat, and lick out some of the marrow. After that, I’ll push the rest of the marrow out of the bone with my thumb and give it to them. I try to make sure that they don’t crunch or chew too much of the bone because it could be problematic if they were to accidentally swallow a large piece. Keeping an eye on them is important.

Bringing in Fruit

Fruit is not only incredibly beneficial for your health, but can transform your pet’s health as well. When my dogs were puppies, I taught them to eat small pieces of banana. Whether you have a puppy or a full grown dog, try giving your pooch a few different pieces of fruit, such as bananas, papaya, and berries, whenever you can. Fruit can help support your pet’s nervous system, help prevent and discontinue the growth of lipomas, and assist in the prevention and reversal of cancers. Bring in raspberries, blackberries, bananas, wild blueberries, papaya, and any other fruits you think your dog or pet might like. Apples and pears are great fruity additions for an animal’s diet. The antioxidants found in fruits will help support an animal’s immune system in fighting off whatever issues may arise. If your animal is battling cancer, bringing in fruit, alongside whatever treatment route you and your veterinarian choose to go, will give your pet a better chance at beating the disease. Just a little fruit each day can do wonders for your pet’s health!

Incorporating Veggies

My dogs not only eat fruit, but I also supplement their diet with veggies as well. My dogs love to munch on celery and each of them eat around four to five sticks per day. I’ll give them a few veggies after their morning meal of grass-fed beef and later in the afternoon after they devour their marrow bones. Cucumber is another favorite snack of theirs. Try introducing celery and cucumber slices to your pet.

It’s alright for your dog or cat to eat a little grass if they go outside, as long as you don’t spray your yard with dangerous chemicals or live in a community that sprays. You may even want to grow a wheat grass bed indoors for your cat. Sometimes when dogs and cats feel sick or unwell, they try to eat a large quantity of grass in an attempt to make themselves throw up, but this can actually create a dangerous blockage in your pet’s intestinal tract. Try to prevent too much outside grass consumption. Let your vet know if your pet is overeating grass outside or seek support online with a resources like this one

An amazing way to bring greens into your animal’s life is to add a little barley grass juice extract powder into their food.

Grains & Pets

If your only choice is between low-quality, GMO dog food containing fillers, byproducts, and chemicals and homemade dog food that contains grains, I would recommend opting for the homemade, grain-containing dog food. You could combine cooked brown rice with a little bit of sweet potato, winter squash, broccoli, or celery and make a meal that is significantly better than a dish containing store bought GMO food. However, if you have the option to provide your dog or other animal with grain-free meal options, that would be a great direction to go. I like keeping my dog’s diet grain-free, but there are some types of animals that are dependent on grains and it is important to keep your unique pet in mind when creating his or her diet plan.

Cats, Dogs & Veganism

Some people feed their dogs a vegan diet. Even some cat owners feed their felines vegan. This type of diet can be beneficial short-term if you are trying to reverse an illness or disease in your dog or cat, but alongside the vegan diet it is critical that you bring in wild salmon oil. Because cats and dogs are carnivores they cannot thrive on a regular vegan diet. If you want to keep them on a vegan diet, incorporating wild salmon oil into their daily protocol is essential. You can find the brand of wild salmon oil I recommend, along with a host of other products, on the Medical Medium page of preferred pet products. Unlike cats and dogs, humans aren’t carnivores and are able to eat a vegan diet if they choose. That being said, humans are able to eat animal protein if they want, and I support whatever diet works best for you and your health. I’m not the biggest fan of an extremely high protein diet because a diet like that does not leave much room for healing fresh fruits and veggies, but some people feel okay keeping a bit of high-quality meat in their diet alongside an abundance of fresh fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables..

Deficiencies & Supportive Supplements

Addressing any deficiencies your pet may have is essential. Pet Health+™ by Ambaya Gold is a great multivitamin for helping reduce deficiencies. SeaMeal™, a kelp-based supplement by Solid Gold is another good option for providing your pet with some of the essential vitamins and minerals he or she needs. If your pet is suffering from deficiencies, it is vital you sprinkle a little bit of barley grass juice extract powder into his or her daily meals as well. I give my dogs the B-12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin which you can find on the Medical Medium preferred supplements page, and I’ve noticed a positive difference in their health. Others have noticed beneficial shifts in their pet’s health after incorporating B-12. B-12 is especially important if your pet is suffering from neurological or nervous system problems, but it can be a supportive supplement for virtually any ailment. You do not have to give your pet two dropper fulls or even one dropper full— just a few drops can help. If your dog or cat is larger in size, a couple more drops may be beneficial, but a generous amount is not necessary to see positive changes. Vitamin C, which is mentioned numerous times throughout this article, is a powerful supplement that can help support a number of health problems including neurological and central nervous system issues.

A drop or two of high-quality zinc can be helpful for animals, and can be especially beneficial for thyroid disease in dogs, cats, and other animals. Thyroid disease found in animals is very similar to thyroid disease found in humans. I share the true, unknown cause of Hashimoto’s disease, which is Epstein-Barr virus, with those suffering in my first book Medical Medium. Plus, my book Thyroid Healing goes into enormous detail on the undiscovered truths about thyroid disease and other thyroid conditions. This virus can get into the thyroid and cause major health issues. This information was unknown until I brought it to light, and now you are learning undiscovered information about the thyroid disease found in pets as well. The virus that gets into the thyroid of a cat, dog, or other animal is a mutated strain that falls within the Epstein-Barr family. Fortunately certain foods and supplements, such as zinc and vitamin C can help.

Although some people feel improvements using glucosamine and chondroitin, I’ve never seen it offer abundant support for serious joint and arthritis problems in humans. However, these supplements can actually be highly supportive in animals. Similarly, MSM seems to work even more effectively for pets than it does for humans. The brand Rescue Remedy has an alcohol-free tincture that is great for helping to keep pets calm and cool. Seeking out a great skin salve may also be beneficial for some animals.

If you’re on the hunt for the right kind of high quality supplements that matter and can make a great difference in your pet’s health, check out the Medical Medium page dedicated to preferred pet products. You may also want to look at the line of alcohol-free, veterinary herbal extracts by Hawaii Pharm, which contains some incredibly high-quality options. You can find these products on the preferred pet products page as well.

Foods to Avoid

There are a few foods that you should avoid giving to your dogs, cats, and other animals. If you have a dog, try to keep grapes away from him or her. There is a phytochemical found in grapes that is actually toxic to dogs. Your dog, cat or other animal should also avoid eating certain avocados. A regular Hass avocado is okay for pets to eat, but other varieties of avocados, such as those grown in the West Indies and the larger avocado varieties found in Florida are not safe for your pet. If you don’t want to mess with learning about the different avocado varieties, it may be best to avoid feeding avocados to your pet altogether. However, if you know a little about the different varieties and want to give your pet a bit of a regular Hass avocado that would be a safe treat. Do not feed your dogs or cats macadamia nuts. And, as many pet owners already know, keeping your dog or cat away from chocolate is critical. Chocolate is poisonous to cats and dogs. When giving your pets supplements, do not use tinctures that contain alcohol unless it’s all you have to work with. It is best to stick to alcohol-free brands for the health of your pet.

Moving Forward with Healing

Our pets mean so much to us. Some people describe their pet as their baby, child, or best friend, and these sentiments are shared by countless owners. They are some of our closest companions and have been there through the best and worst moments of our lives.

Not only is it important to take care of your dog, cat, bird, horse, hamster, or other sweet animal, and provide for their health, but it is also important that you support your own health, so that your pets have the healthiest, most vibrant parent possible. If you’re struggling with your own health, check out my radio shows, articles, and other Medical Medium resources to find hope and information for your own healing journey, and also look into the support offered at holisticactions.com. Armed with this information, you and your pet can grow in wellness together. I have nothing but love for both you and your pet, and I believe that vibrant health is possible for both of you!

For anyone struggling with severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), life can feel like a living nightmare. My heart goes out to those suffering because making it through each day with this condition can feel like a brutal and lonely battle. It is often challenging for someone who does not struggle with OCD to make sense of this condition. Some people may even judge it as ridiculous or insane, but just because a person suffers from OCD does not mean he or she is mentally ill. The reason people often think about this condition in a negative way is because they do not know the true underlying causes or understand the condition. Learning and spreading the truth about OCD that I share here can help combat any negative stigma surrounding the condition, and help those suffering to finally get the the answers they need to heal.

All Shapes & Sizes

There is not just one type of OCD. Medical communities are unaware that there are hundreds of varieties that manifest in different ways. Many people don’t even realize they are suffering from a mild, hidden form of OCD and may even be incorrectly led by a medical doctor or psychologist to believe that their unique issue stems from something other than OCD. Something as simple as having a comfort zone with specific parameters could be a mild form of OCD. Someone growing incredibly upset or angry by a minor shift in his or her daily routine could be another example of mild OCD. If even a slight shift in a daily rhythm, routine, or habit causes you severe irritation, anger, or distress, you may unknowingly be suffering from a variety of OCD.

In the United States, between three and four million people have been diagnosed with OCD. This is far from the actual number of people suffering, which is at least 150 million in the US alone. Medical science and medical research are rarely (if ever) correct when it comes to revealing statistics that accurately highlight the number of people suffering with chronic mystery symptoms and conditions. This is because these mystery illnesses are not properly understood in the first place so statistics can not reflect them accurately. So when it comes to OCD, it is critical that all the sufferers around the world, including the over 150 million people in the United States, learn the causes behind their condition and symptoms and the steps they can take to support healing.

The Causes of OCD

There are two distinct groups of OCD, a truth that you won’t learn anywhere else. Countless variations stem from each of these groups. One of these groups spawns from emotional wounds or soul trauma, such as physical or emotional abuse. The second group is due to the presence of toxic heavy metals in the brain. It is also possible to have OCD behaviors that stem from both emotional wounds or soul trauma and toxic heavy metal exposure. The blend of both can result in some extremely challenging OCD behaviors, and make it even more difficult for those suffering.

Group One: Emotional Wounds & Soul Trauma

A severe emotional blow can trigger off OCD behaviors in some individuals. How someone copes with emotional stress and his or her unique sensitivities play a part in whether or not he or she develops OCD. For some people, even mild emotional injuries can create the emotional wounds and soul trauma that lead to OCD behaviors.

Situations that can create emotional wounds and soul trauma include the death of a family member or loved one, betrayal by someone or something you deeply love or value, the shattering of long-standing hopes, a devastating physical injury or illness, bullying in school, or parents divorcing. High stress situations or confrontations of almost any kind can also play a part. These examples are not meant to point blame at a particular person or people in your life. Rather, they are given to help highlight events in your life that might have played a role in creating emotional wounds and soul trauma that you can now work to heal. Some researchers and experts may already be discussing the idea that, in certain cases, emotional traumas can create OCD. But what these professionals do not yet understand is that when an individual feels intense emotional pain or repeated stress, this emotional strain can lead to certain areas of the brain overworking. In these overworked areas, intensely heated electrical charges can cause the root problems that create OCD behavior.

To highlight how OCD can begin to emerge in an individual, imagine the example of being bullied in school. The first time you are bullied, electrical charges in a certain part of the emotional area of the brain will heat up. This heat subsides once the bullying episode ceases, although you may suffer from mild post-traumatic stress disorder. A few days later you are bullied once again. Immediately, electrical charges heat up that same area of the brain. Fortunately, this area again cools down once the bullying ceases. Perhaps bullying occurs a third, fourth or fifth time, and the same part of the brain experiences intense heat during each episode. Continuous, intense heat to this area without ample time for the body to heal can lead to calloused brain tissue for adults and children alike. Medical science and medical research have not yet discovered this widespread phenomenon. Have you heard the term hotheaded? Well, it may actually be an accurate description in certain instances. Bullying is not the only situation that creates this intense heat. The physical burnout that occurs can arise from a number of emotionally heavy events and result in a small area of calloused brain tissue.

The area of the emotional center of the brain in which this physical burnout occurs depends on the emotional event or stressor you endure. The body handles each event and stressor differently and the area of the brain that experiences this heat depends on the unique situation. The reason this type of burnout occurs in particular areas of the brain is to protect the body from suffering greater health issues.

In the areas where a thin layer of callused tissue has formed, neurons become hypersensitive and create a foundation for OCD behaviors to arise. This tiny callused spot can hinder the billions of electrical nerve impulses that dart around your brain from effortlessly traveling through this area on the way to their destination. These electrical impulses, which are able to think for themselves and carry along critical information, believe there is nothing wrong with your brain tissue. They also carry a part of your soul and will. All of this is completely unknown and medical research and medical science are still decades away from discovering this. For this reason, when an electrical impulse is unable to travel through this callused area on the first attempt, it will determinedly try again. Although technically there is nothing wrong with the brain tissue, the thin callused layer has created a blockade that the electrical impulse cannot comfortably cross. As the electrical impulse makes multiple attempts to move through this altered region, a variety of OCD may emerge.

Racing thoughts can be one variety of OCD you may experience if your brain has experienced this type of burnout. You may also feel compelled to perform acts on yourself such as washing your hands numerous times, repeatedly washing your feet, or showering with extreme frequency. If you aren’t able to perform a behavior you may find that you feel extremely agitated or distraught. Hoarding, which is actually an unknown variety of OCD, also falls into this category of OCD. Some other varieties within this group that people frequently battle include extreme self doubt, self loathing, insecurities, and a lack of confidence. Medical research, medical science, and mental health professionals are completely unaware that many of these issues fall within this widespread condition.

Group Two: Toxic Heavy Metals in the Brain

At present-day, everyone is exposed to some degree of toxic heavy metals. As I brought to light in my first book Medical Medium, we also inherit toxic heavy metals from the generations of family members before us. This isn't a genetic issue. It's simply the passing on of these heavy metals at conception and in the womb. Unfortunately, if a certain amount of mercury, aluminum and/or copper settles close enough to the endocrine glands in the brain, or the emotional highway or emotional center of the brain, a variety of OCD may arise. Mercury is often a key component when it comes to creating a variety of OCD that falls within group two. The severity of the OCD variety often depends on the amount of toxic heavy metals in the brain. If someone suffers from mild OCD, he or she may only have a minimal amount of aluminum and mercury in his or her system, rather than sizable amounts of aluminum, mercury, and copper.

As I shared above, the electrical impulses that run across neurons in your brain possess a tremendous amount of information as well as energy of both your soul and will. Your desire to wake up in the morning, go to work, protect your family, breathe, survive, or save a life is all connected to your will, and a piece of this can be found in your electrical impulses. As mentioned previously, medical research and medical science have no idea that these currents contain that kind of intelligence and data, and will not stumble upon this fact for many decades.

The OCD varieties found in this group emerge when the electrical impulses running across neurons in the emotional center of the brain come into contact with toxic heavy metal deposits. Mercury and other toxic heavy metals short out electrical impulses. One reason for this is that the electricity running on mineral salts is different than the electricity that drives through metal. After running up against the metal for a period of time, the intelligent electrical impulse will eventually decide to take a different path to get to its destination. But prior to this, the electrical impulse will repeatedly ram against the metal deposit in an attempt to follow its usual pathway. This repeated meeting of the toxic heavy metal and electrical impulse can trigger OCD behaviors.

The electrical impulse is desperate to get the information it contains to the necessary destination, so that no serious health consequences such as a stroke or TIA arise. Unfortunately, once the electrical impulse decides to find another path around the heavy metal deposit, it may run into other roadblocks and hindrances that may create new quirks in an individual. For example, an electrical impulse may go around the mercury deposit it was initially running into and wind up running into a closely located deposit of aluminum. If a person has experienced emotional wounds or soul trauma, an electrical impulse looking for a new route around a heavy metal deposit may also run into a bit of callused tissue and trigger varieties of OCD found in the first group discussed.

In a brain with many heavy metal deposits or a lot of callused tissue, an electrical impulse may struggle to carve out a smooth path for itself. Regardless, the persistent electrical impulse will work as hard as possible to deliver its information. If the electrical impulse is not able to navigate around the metal deposit, it is possible that you will lose your ability to function in other ways. A psychiatrist may suggest you take a prescription drug for your quirks or behaviors, but taking a drug might not always be the best choice.

If you are having trouble imagining an electrical impulse running into heavy metal deposits in your brain tissue, try picturing a car driving down the street carrying precious cargo. In the electrical impulse, this precious cargo is pieces of the will, soul, and critical information for your survival. As the car zips along it encounters a blockade of heavy metal barrels filled with cement that have been placed in the middle of the road. Imagine the car slamming into the barrels in an attempt to break through the barrier and carry on. After a few attempts, the driver backs up and realizes he need to find another way. The car, in an attempt to navigate around the barrels, drives onto the sidewalk. It runs over pedestrians, signs, and benches as it tries to traverse this new territory, but it is desperate to deliver this vital information and will do whatever it takes to accomplish its mission. Similarly, the electrical impulse will eventually try to carve out a new pathway for itself no matter how difficult it may be.

If you compulsively lock doors twenty, thirty, forty or more times, you may be struggling with a type of OCD that falls within this group. I’ve worked with clients who have locked their doors before going to sleep at night, but have felt compelled to wake up multiple times throughout the night and check the lock on their doors each time. One person I knew constantly felt compelled to leave work to check his stove even though there was a part of him that knew his stove was already off. This person even tried a technique to prove to himself that the stove was off. He would take a picture of the switched off stove before leaving for work in the morning. Unfortunately, once he arrived at work, he would begin to question the validity of the photograph. Sadly, the person was fired from his job due to his OCD behaviors getting in the way of his work. These are just a few of the moderate cases of OCD I’ve encountered. There are even more severe varieties I’ve witnessed throughout the years. Whether you suffer from a mild form of OCD or a severe variety, know that I have the greatest compassion for your suffering and want to see you heal.

Tips for OCD Sufferers

Changing up your routine can be a challenging, but very beneficial strategy if you are working to heal from OCD. It may be especially hard if someone struggles with agoraphobia and may even feel impossible for some, but the slightest changes can be invaluable. Try staying at a family member’s house or friend’s home for a night. A week stay at a hotel could be another option for some. Changing up your location, scenery, or routine can actually help to start breaking your OCD. When you return home or go back to your regular routine, you may notice that your OCD is slightly less present. Even after an electrical impulse has found a new route around the heavy metal deposit or callused brain tissue, the habit of the OCD behaviors alone can be challenging to break. For that reason, these OCD behaviors can continue for years after the electrical impulse has found a new pathway, and it is important to start changing up your environment and surroundings even as you work to heal the neurological issues with the foods and supplements I share below.

Supportive Foods

The foods you eat can make an incredible impact on your body’s ability to heal from OCD. Bringing in the five heavy metal detox foods I discuss in Medical Medium and on my blog can be critical for anyone suffering from an OCD variety that stems from the second OCD group. In fact, because all of us are exposed to heavy metals, it can be helpful for everyone to include these foods daily. These five foods are spirulina, Barley Grass Juice Extract powder, Atlantic dulse, wild blueberries, and cilantro.

Wild blueberries can actually help repair callused brain tissue. Definitely try to bring in cantaloupe and mango when these two powerful fruits are available. The undiscovered phytochemicals found in blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries help repair brain tissue. Papaya, a very soothing food, is an important fruit for helping to reduce OCD because its sugars help feed the electrical impulses that need support. Leafy greens such as spinach, mâche, arugula, and butter leaf lettuce can be powerful foods to incorporate in your diet. Sweet potatoes and squashes can be supportive foods as well. Try out different kinds of squash such as butternut, buttercup, delicata, kabocha, sweet dumpling and red kuri for some tasty variation.

Supportive Supplements

Everybody's OCD condition is unique, and therefore each person’s supplementation protocol will have to be tailored for their specific needs. One person might feel great using a certain supplement while another person might not find as much benefit. It may be beneficial to work with a supportive practitioner to create the best supplement routine for you.

Sam-E can be an incredibly helpful supplement for those suffering from OCD, depression, or anxiety. Talk to your practitioner about taking an ample amount of L-glutamine as well. 5HTP can be helpful for OCD sufferers, however if you are highly sensitive it’s possible it may bother your stomach. Work with a practitioner to figure out if this supplement is right for you. Gingko leaf contains incredible alkaloids that help repair callused brain tissue. Ashwagandha helps support the adrenals and the brain.

OCD can trigger off adrenaline and an addiction to adrenaline can arise alongside OCD behaviors. Supporting your adrenals while you work to heal from OCD is essential. To learn more about adrenaline addiction check out part one and part two of my ‘Addictions’ radio show. Using lemon balm tea or a non-alcoholic tincture to help calm and soothe the nerves can be a life-changing supplement for someone with OCD. California poppy can be an amazing supplement when combating varieties of OCD, especially those that fall within the emotional wounds and soul trauma group. Even if you enjoy fish or meat in your diet, avoid omega-3 fish oil supplements, which can cause great harm to your brain. I discuss this in my first book Medical Medium and share why fish oil is so problematic. Instead, bring in a plant-based omega-3, which can actually offer ample benefits. Some other helpful supplements to consider bringing into your proctol include B-12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, GABA, 5MTHF, and a calcium magnesium blend. Check out my list of preferred supplements on my website.

Regardless of the diet you choose to follow, bringing in some of these supplements and foods can offer tremendous support for any OCD sufferer. Do not let a staunch belief system hold you back from experiencing the healing you deserve.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s and motor neurone disease, is one of the most misunderstood mystery illnesses today. The misinformation being spread about ALS and the incorrect diagnoses of this illness is resulting in devastating consequences for those who are told they have the condition. If you or a loved one suffers with ALS, it is important that you know there is hope. When you are handed an ALS diagnosis, it often comes with a life-threatening concern but it doesn’t have to be this way. Healing is possible. But first it’s vital to understand what’s really behind ALS.

Behind the ALS Label

The technical name of this disease in Greek means “without nourishment to muscles.” Although doctors have a label to give to people, ALS is still a complete mystery illness to medical communities. In the conventional medical world you will most likely hear ALS described as a motor neurone disease. This is almost true. Medical science and research don’t yet know that ALS is actually a viral inflammatory illness where the viruses involved are feeding off a certain level of toxic heavy metals in the system and this can affect neurons. Usually a high level of aluminum is one of the metals present in the brain and other parts of the body.

If you have been given an ALS label, you likely have a variety of heavy metals in your system, including an abundance of aluminum. As I share in my book Medical Medium, these toxic metals are the perfect fuel for viruses, and in the case of ALS, there is a severe viral infection in the body feeding on these metals. Typically there will be a severe viral infection of HHV-6 coupled with a few other herpes virus strains. When symptoms increase in severity and mild tingles and numbness turn into acute loss of muscle control, it is often due to severe brain inflammation triggered by the viral infection. If you find yourself in a wheelchair and doctors seem apprehensive about your chances of survival, it is possible that your body is overrun with viruses. Once you reach this point, you can still turn your condition around. Do not lose hope! In this instance, working with a doctor or practitioner to create a healing protocol that incorporates foods and supplements that help to naturally fight against viruses and draw heavy metals out of the body is critical.

Medical communities are still tragically unaware of the true causes of people’s suffering when it comes to most neurological symptoms and conditions. If someone gets into a car accident and endures a brain injury that is visible on an MRI test, a doctor knows the cause of his or her neurological issues. But when mystery illnesses arise, medical communities are not yet able to provide patients with accurate and adequate information. A doctor may try to blame your genes or suggest that your body is attacking itself, but these trendy ideas are incorrect and damaging. I discuss this indepth in my book  Thyroid Healing.

A Reckless Diagnosis

ALS is a real illness, just like other chronic illnesses, but the unsupportive beliefs attached to the ALS label can destroy a person’s health rather than help him or her see that he or she is fully capable of rising from the ashes of this condition.

Being handed an ALS label today can have a similar affect on someone as the affect a HIV/AIDS diagnosis had on people during the 1980s AIDS crisis. This retrovirus was not the reason people were dying, but because a death sentence was so strongly associated with this diagnosis, people quickly fell into a hopeless, despairing headspace that greatly affected their overall health. Many of the people who had this virtually benign retrovirus were also suffering from terrible varieties of streptococcus that triggered pneumatic problems, a host of herpes viruses including HHV-7, HHV-8, HHV-9, and the undiscovered varieties I brought to light including HHV-10, HHV-11, and HHV-12, and/or suffered from exposure to pollutants, toxins, drugs, and toxic heavy metals. For a number of reasons, other than the retrovirus, people were experiencing the complete breakdown of their immune systems. When people were given an HIV/AIDS diagnosis in the early to mid 80s, they did not even consider the possibility that they could survive, and this led many people to quickly give up and fall apart mentally and physically. The reason it appears as though very few people are dying from HIV anymore is because the sources perpetuating this damaging falsehood quieted. This is allowing people’s immune systems to strengthen and stay fortified. An ALS diagnosis seems to affect people similarly, which is why I often refer to it as a “reckless diagnosis.” It is important to understand the weight a diagnosis can have on an individual. If the person is given positive news, the relief she or he feels can be wonderful. But if that same individual is given a reckless diagnosis, the immense fear can weigh on them and panic may set in. And if a person has severe viral infections, their condition may worsen from the fear and panic.

In the medical world, diagnosing ALS is basically a guessing game. The doctor will likely observe the patient struggling with more and more symptoms as the prescribed immunosuppressive drugs, steroids, or antibiotics fail to improve the patient’s condition. If the patient continues to steadily decline, the doctor may give the patient an ALS label. Another doctor may disagree and deem it a different neurological disease that doesn’t produce as much terror and uncertainty as an ALS label does.

The current neurological testing doctors use to identify ALS is far from error-free and rarely offers information that doctors can use with complete certainty. Numerous neurologists I’ve spoken with have agreed with me on this issue. They have mentioned multiple cases where perfectly healthy patients have had worrisome results show up on neurological tests. Yet the patient had never struggled with the suggested issues and these issues never arose as time progressed. You may still want to have neurological testing done, but it is helpful to be aware of the tests’ potential inaccuracies before you move forward with the process.

Men Versus Women

Men are more commonly diagnosed with ALS than women. Although there is not a huge difference in frequency of diagnosis between genders, it is still a variation worth noting. Although men have often been considered stronger than women in various ways throughout history, when it comes to battling illness, women have consistently demonstrated a stronger will to live than their male counterparts.

Women possess a mighty will to survive, grow stronger, and bear the elements. This fiery will not only helps women bear the weight of a diagnosis better than most men, but it also helps women bear any symptoms and conditions they are up against better as well. For this reason, a woman who experiences a symptom of a chronic illness will usually be able to tolerate it reasonably well, while a man, experiencing the same symptom may struggle more both mentally and emotionally. In many cases, men quickly decline after being handed diagnoses that cause them to feel unwell or useless for a prolonged period of time. This is especially true in cases where there is a sense of hopelessness already attached to the label, such as in the case of ALS. There are some men who match women in their strong will to survive, and there are some women whose wills aren’t quite as robust as others, but in general, a woman’s will is incredible and noteworthy.

Overcoming an ALS Diagnosis

James, a client I worked with years ago, age 47, had started noticing stiffness in his hands, shoulders, and legs while working at his factory job. At first he attributed these symptoms to aging, decreased the number of hours he spent woodworking on the weekends, and tried to increase the time he spent resting. Instead of the symptoms disappearing though, new symptoms emerged alongside the stiffness, such as muscle twitching in various parts of the body. One morning while shaving, James discovered numbness in part of his face. This additional symptom prompted him to visit a doctor. The first doctor, who was unsure what label to give the symptoms, directed James to a neurologist. Tests the neurologist ran did not show anything conclusive, so the neurologist diagnosed James with ALS based off his symptoms alone. Unfortunately, this was a completely incorrect diagnosis. In actuality, James was exhibiting symptoms of Guillain-Barré syndrome, another mystery condition whose cause is still unknown within medical communities, but whose real cause I shared in my first book Medical Medium.

Shortly after James was handed an ALS diagnosis, he began experiencing twitches. He sought out the opinion of two other specialists, neither of whom contradicted the neurologist’s ALS diagnosis. James was given a time frame of about five to seven years. At the end of these years, the specialists did not overtly declare that James would pass away, but suggested that his body would have completely fallen apart. This news left James in a constant state of stress. He began barely sleeping and spent much of his time agonizing over his seemingly hopeless future. He started feeling useless at his job and worthless when it came to providing for his family. The lack of sleep, stress, and emotional turmoil exacerbated James’s symptoms and the muscle twitching, stiffness and numbness grew worse. This only fed James’s growing panic. Around this time, James’s wife, Julie, learned of me and sought out an appointment.

James and his wife did not reveal the symptoms James was experiencing or the label he’d been given when we first started the session. Nevertheless, Spirit quickly began to disclose what was wrong. I relayed to them that James had a herpes virus, HHV-6, in his brain as well as heavy metals, which included high levels of aluminum and copper. After this assessment, the couple remarked that they must’ve come to the wrong place because James was diagnosed with ALS. I explained to James that he had merely been given a label for his mystery illness, not a true cause. I made it clear that medical research and medical science still doesn’t understand the underlying issues for people who are given an ALS label. Once James understood that ALS was only a man-made label for something medical communities were still working to unravel, he grew more open to what I had to say.

I explained to James and his wife that a viral inflammatory condition in James’s brain was responsible for his neurological problems. Not only was his body battling HHV-6, but it was fighting against two other herpesviruses as well. These viruses, which had invaded both his brain and spinal cord, were feeding off the high level of aluminum, as well as other heavy metals that were present in his system.

Spirit recommended James return to the factory he had been working at and ask for an exposure investigation. James met with the factory foreman and an investigation took place. Upon investigation, it was discovered that aluminum oxide gas had been spewing out of a damaged ventilator pipe in the area James had been working. This aluminum dust and vapor, byproduct from aluminum work, had been silently poisoning the factory workers for months until Spirit made it known. This finding helped ignite James’s faith in the recommendations I had made for his health.

Once James no longer believed he was close to dying, his symptoms quickly improved. Gradually the mild twitching and mild stiffness he had dealt with initially disappeared as well from following the healing steps I provided him with. Part of his protocol was the heavy metal detox plan, which helped draw aluminum, copper, and mercury out of his body and brain. He also used natural antiviral supplements to fight off HHV-6 and the other herpes viruses in his system.

Instead of suffering for five years until his body completely fell apart, like specialists had predicted, James fully healed and was able to embrace the life he had been living prior to his illness.

Steps to Heal

Over the decades I’ve helped a number of other people completely reverse their ALS-labeled neurological symptoms. Many medical communities still believe that ALS is eventually a death sentence, but that’s not true and it doesn’t have to be that way. You too have the ability to put these symptoms behind you and live a full, vibrant life. Below are some suggestions and recommendations that may help you begin your healing journey.

Glucose & Mineral Salts

If you are suffering with a neurological symptom or condition, bringing ample glucose into your diet is critical. The central nervous system needs an abundance of the natural sugar found in fruits and starchy vegetables like potatoes and sweet potatoes when you are working to heal from a neurological disease. Your nerves and muscles will thank you for any natural sugars you are able to incorporate into your daily meals and snacks.

High fat and protein and low carbohydrate diets are not preferable for anyone suffering with ALS, Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), or any other neurological symptoms or conditions. If you are healthy and do not have any chronic health issues, you may want to explore different diets, but if you are suffering with a neurological problem, a diet filled with an abundance of natural glucose from is critical.

The central nervous system also benefits from a diet rich in mineral salts. Kale, spinach, celery juice, and other mineral salt-rich foods can help play a vital role in reversing neurological conditions. The adrenal health snacks I offer on my blog would be helpful also.

Building Muscles

Sweet potatoes and other carbohydrate-rich foods help build your muscles. This may comes as a surprise, because many people incorrectly believe protein helps build muscle. In truth though, only two things help to build up muscles: consuming carbohydrates and actually using the muscles. Glucose builds muscle quickly. If you are doubting this, just picture the muscular, three hundred pound apes at the zoo who are snacking on bananas and figs.

People suffering with neurological conditions often do not use their muscles as much as individuals who aren’t suffering with health issues. This is true for people fighting ALS symptoms, neurological chronic fatigue, and more. Some people are too sick to get out of bed let alone walk around or exercise. In these instances, it is vitally important that the person feed his or her muscles with carbohydrates. Feeding your muscles with glucose-filled foods can help you keep from wasting away as you work to combat your neurological disease. This is another reason to temporarily avoid a high protein or high fat diet like a ketogenic or paleo diet while healing from a neurological condition. Low to no healthy carbohydrate diets offered to people suffering with neurological conditions can cause rapid wasting away syndrome or disease, which can then get mistaken as the label ALS or even worsening MS when that’s not the truth.

I’ve watched people waste away faster than usual from ALS and other neurological conditions because they have been fed protein-heavy diets. If someone in this situation were to work with me, I would try to encourage them to bring avocados, potatoes, fruits, and other carbohydrate-dense foods into their meals and snacks. The abundance of lysine and the numerous amino acids found in all different varieties of potatoes can be especially powerful for helping maintain and/or strengthen muscles. If you eat meat alongside your potatoes, the animal protein may prevent the potatoes from offering their many benefits to the muscles. To obtain the maximum benefits from healing foods, it is best to separate your carbohydrate-heavy meals, such as a bowl of potatoes or dish of fruit, from any animal protein you choose to bring into your diet.

If you increase the amount of fruit and starchy vegetables you bring into your diet, and greatly reduce your protein intake, you maybe able to maintain and/or strengthen your muscles. When you supply your body with ample carbohydrates, if you reach to scratch an itch on your face or wave hello to a friend, the muscle cells and tissue will have adequate fuel to take in and use. If you perform those same movements, but have not been supplying your body with adequate carbohydrates, it will only serve to weaken your body. This doesn’t mean you need to eliminate all protein-dense foods, but reducing these options and increasing healthy carbohydrates, especially from fruit and vegetables like potatoes and squashes, when you are healing from a neurological problem can be valuable.

Supportive Foods

Filling your diet with an abundance of fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens is critical as you work to reverse neurological issues connected to ALS. The antioxidants and phytochemicals found in these foods are vital for healing. Dive into my book Life-Changing Foods for some top healing food suggestions.

Wild blueberries are a powerful weapon against ALS-related symptoms. It is important you bring frozen wild blueberries into your diet if you are seeking to heal your neurological problems. Pomegranates, cherries, and oranges can offer valuable support as well. The electrolytes found in melons are amazing and can aid anyone working to reverse their ALS symptoms. Aloe vera and wheatgrass juice are two other foods to consider incorporating. Leafy greens are important because they contain precious mineral salts, but they don’t have the caloric density of other fruits and vegetables, so when you eat leafy greens make sure to bring in bananas, potatoes, dates, mangos, dried apricots, lentils, black beans, quinoa, which is a grain that people tend to tolerate well, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, or other carbohydrate-rich foods alongside your greens.

The heavy metal detox, which is detailed in my first book, Medical Medium, and discussed on my blog can be an incredible piece of the healing puzzle. Barley grass juice extract powderspirulina, cilantro, Atlantic dulse, and wild blueberries are the five powerfully detoxifying components of this cleanse.

Supplements

An incredible supplement for ALS is alpha-lipoic acid (ALA). Chaga mushroom can help kill viruses and is surprisingly useful for people with aluminum in their system. A high-quality B-12 that contains both adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin is a valuable supplement for someone suffering with any neurological symptom or condition. Ginkgo leaf contains an alkaloid that can help support neurotransmitters, which is particularly important for people suffering with neurological conditions and/or have been given a serious ALS diagnosis. N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) helps support the central nervous system, including the myelin sheath surrounding nerves. Lemon balm possesses powerful antiviral attributes especially against viruses in the herpes family. A small amount of ionic gold can offer support as well. Although vitamin D is not as vitally important as most people within the medical world suggest, when you are healing from a neurological condition supplementing with a small amount, such a daily dose of 2,000 IUs, can be supportive. Dandelion and milk thistle can help support the liver, which usually, along with the brain, contains heavy metals. A high-quality liposomal Vitamin C can be great to incorporate into your protocol. Coenzyme Q10, vitamin E, turmeric, and curcumin can offer additional beneficial support. For high-quality supplement recommendations, check out my preferred supplements page.

Moving Forward

If you’ve been given an ALS diagnosis, try your hardest to stay light hearted and not fall victim to the unproductive label medical research and medical science have placed on a variety of mystery symptoms. The neurological condition you are suffering from is not a death sentence and is something you are fully capable of healing from and moving past. Unfortunately, you will not hear the true causes behind ALS symptoms or the exact ways to heal anywhere except here. There is a lot of misinformation circulating, and it is important you hold onto these truths now that you have learned them. Keep coming back to this information as often as needed.

This condition may seem scary, but now that you’ve been given this knowledge, you have the power to heal! Herpes viruses and toxic heavy metals only seem scary until you shine a light on them, understand what they are, and adopt the tools and practices needed to eliminate these pesky chaos creators. When you are given the right information, you are given the power to heal, and that’s what you’ve been given today.

For humans, even those in the medical communities, the body is still an unknown world. Imagine every organ as its very own, barely-known galaxy, and know that the beautiful way in which the brain works is far from being understood. You may not comprehend every little intricacy of the body, but you can hold onto the truth that your body is always working for you. My hope is that you can move forward with life-changing knowledge, restored motivation, and a new found faith in your body’s ability to heal.

You may have heard about different ways our environment is polluted, but you maybe surprised to find out about some of the specific poisons in our environments that can hinder us from overcoming symptoms and conditions and slow down our healing process. These pollutants and toxins can trigger issues and keep us stuck in a place of poor health if we aren’t made aware of their presence in our lives and learn ways to fight against these various harmful elements.

Not only will this article shed light on some of the environmental toxins you may not be aware of, but it will also provide you with information on how to protect and arm yourself against these destructive forces. Your body is constantly adjusting to things in its environment and fighting against toxins it encounters. Once you have this information and begin to offer your body the foods, supplements, and protective measures it needs to thrive, you will no longer have to be a victim to the ever-changing environments you find yourself in.

Environmental Issues Inside the Home

Allergies, monthly headaches during your menstrual cycle, asthma, eczema, anxiety, fatigue, hair loss, brain fog, confusion, weakness, aches and pains, and a host of other health issues can all be exacerbated by various environmental issues. You may be wondering what is going on in your environment that is causing your unique health complications. Here are just a few of the environmental triggers you may be up against:

Carpet Chemicals

I’ve been discussing the issue of carpet chemicals for decades now, and addressed it once again in my first book, Medical Medium. Brand new carpet contains solvents, fungicides, and other toxic chemicals, which can trigger seasonal affective disorder-like symptoms and other conditions and symptoms connected with any active or inactive viruses you have. For example, if you have Epstein-Barr virus and you are exposed to the chemicals found in new carpets, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease, aches and pains, brain fog, migraines, Hashimoto’s, psoriasis, asthma  or a host of other conditions and symptoms may arise or worsen.

Using a conventional carpet cleaning service can also be problematic. A conventional carpet cleaner typically uses a large number of different solvent chemicals mixed into a single, toxic brew. People don’t realize that the freshly cleaned carpets they are padding around on barefoot and letting their children play on have been saturated in such a harmful solution. Problems can especially arise in the wintertime when people get their carpets cleaned and keep their windows shut for months at a time.

Even if you feel you’re in fantastic health, just getting your carpets cleaned could potentially set you up for your first Lyme disease diagnosis. The solvents and chemicals found inside these freshly cleaned carpets can trigger off viruses in people’s bodies such as Epstein-Barr and neurotoxins, such as those that create neurological Lyme. Lyme disease at its core is never bacterial or parasitical, it is always a viral issue. This is still undiscovered information that I brought to light in my book Medical Medium for the first time. These viruses create the neurotoxins that trigger neurological issues that are associated with Lyme. If someone has no symptoms of Lyme until they are exposed to a toxin like carpet chemicals, it means the toxin triggered the virus to worsen, resulting in the start of the symptoms associated with Lyme disease. If this information is unsettling or new to you, check out the “Lyme Disease” chapter in Medical Medium or check out “The Unknown Cause of Lyme Disease” radio show and try to keep an open mind so you have all healing opportunities in front of you.

Be mindful of how old your carpet is as well. Older carpets tend to begin breaking down and can start to harbor various levels of mold. You may not notice mold in any other parts of your home, and still be unknowingly affected by a low-grade fungus growing in your older carpets.

Depending on your specific circumstances, you may have to live in a place with carpets and face these issues. If you’re living in a rental apartment that has new carpeting, extremely old carpeting, or carpets that have been freshly cleaned with toxic chemicals, do not burden yourself with worry. There are many choices you can make in your life when it comes to foods, supplements, and other more flexible lifestyle and self-care choices that can help you combat the environmental toxins you face.

Paint

You may see people giggling as they splatter paint on each other while finishing a painting project in a commercial, television show, or movie, but this staged scene is actually highlighting a scenario that could actually be incredibly harmful in real life. The paint they are playfully splashing at each other is in fact toxic and the less exposure you have, the better.

Be cautious and mindful of painting projects inside the home. Fresh paint can have a negative impact on your health, and it takes time for the paint fumes to dissipate. If possible, use low-VOC paint, which may somewhat help in lowering the toxins you and your housemates are exposed to.

Both viral and bacterial conditions are more easily triggered when someone is living in a freshly painted rental or any environment that has been newly painted. One condition that may be triggered to worsen is a streptococcus infection, which could result in a handful of health-related difficulties including SIBO, sinus congestion, UTIs, styes, and acne. Even if you are in excellent health, regular exposure to fresh paint could still negatively impact your health.

Mold

Mold can be present in a variety of places in the home. Different types of black mold that may appear inside the walls, underneath the kitchen sink, or in a variety of other locations in the home can trigger serious health symptoms and conditions. Black mold can be a major trigger for neurological viruses that create Lyme disease symptoms, a variety of multiple sclerosis, or a host of other health-related issues. If you want to learn more about mold and the potential health risks from mold exposure, listen to my radio show Healing From Mold Exposure.

When I first began working full time with people doing readings on their health as a teenager and young adult, I lived in conditions that were far from ideal. I did not charge for consultations and could afford very little. As a result, I know what it’s like to live in a one room apartment that’s filled with harmful pesticides, toxic paint, and mold. I understand that many people do not have the financial means or the ability for one reason or another to move away from and/or modify their living quarters. The awareness of potential environmental toxins inside the home can still bring about understanding, and some of the suggested dietary and supplement recommendations at the end of this article can still be beneficial for you and your loved ones to help safeguard your health.

Water

From brushing your teeth to washing your hands to soaking in the tub after a busy day, you are constantly encountering varying qualities of water. Many people know to avoid drinking tap water whenever possible. If you cannot afford a high-quality water filter, even a semi-decent filtration system can offer some benefit.

You may not know that you are often bathing in chlorine and fluoride when you run a bath or step into the shower. These two substances are not ideal for your health or healing. I’ve worked with a client who developed chronic fatigue largely because of their constant exposure to chlorine while showering. They hopped from doctor to doctor, were given numerous misdiagnoses, and didn’t actually experience positive shifts in their health until they filtered the chlorine out of the water they were showering in. My client, who was suffering from low-grade Epstein-Barr that gave rise to chronic fatigue syndrome, was already fighting off neurotoxins from the Epstein-Barr that were creating neurological fatigue, and the chlorine exposure in addition to the neurotoxins overburdened the immune system. After this fix, the client no longer needed to pause their day after a shower to take a nap and noted that this simple change seemed to make their fatigue disappear by 75%. If you want to address this issue yourself, consider installing a filter in the shower. You may also be interested in installing a reverse osmosis water system throughout your home, which is another option.

I always talk about the importance of little steps in the right direction. If you can decrease your exposure to environmental toxins, this may play a 5% role or more in your overall healing. Any other healing efforts, including your dietary choices, the supplements you choose to take, and the healing meditations you practice all have different positive percentages in which they impact your healing. The more of these positive pieces of healing you can bring into your life, the more results you are likely to see because it matters and all adds up.

Air

What I’m about to reveal is negatively affecting the health of our children, our families, and our communities, but is not being openly discussed. This harmful practice is present throughout the United States and in many other countries around the world. Every state in the U.S. has areas that are specifically designated for agricultural use. In the areas that are used for farming most conventional vegetables and certain conventional fruits, workers lay down hundreds of billions of pounds of plastic throughout the rows of produce. These often white, but sometimes black colored row covers are vastly different than the row covers you may use in your backyard garden to provide protection and pest control. These toxic plastic row covers blanket thousands of acres of crops throughout the United States and elsewhere and are sprayed multiple times a week with rodenticides, herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides. The barrels these chemicals come from display a unique variety of hazard label, which is a large skull and bones, and the mixture that is eventually sprayed on the crops is concocted in a massive containment unit. The people who cover these plastics in heavy quantities of these toxic chemicals have to wear hazmat suits to protect themselves. Chemicals being sprayed on conventional crops is nothing new, but this part is.

Once the conventional crops are ready to be harvested, the plastics are gathered and burned. During this process, dangerous furans take to the air. Environmental activists are understandably worried about the pollution generated by factories and certain forms of transportation, but nobody within the environmental movement is aware of this practice or is talking about the toxic plumes that arise, billow through the air, cross state lines, and wreak unparalleled havoc on people’s lives. Burning plastic by itself can be toxic, but this becomes an even greater issue because of the high levels of pesticides, fungicides, rodenticides, and herbicides covering these plastics. If you’re someone that follows, believes or is interested in climate change, protecting our environment, wildlife and the future of our children’s health and well being, it’s important to know that this hidden practice of burning agricultural plastic is by far one of the most damaging. It is wreaking havoc on all of us, but slips under the radar of the experts and environmentalists.

Since I first received my gift at age four, my source has always told me that this destructive practice is one of the reasons for the currently high rate of cancers. This is unknown to medical science and research. Many people are suffering from viruses such as Epstein-Barr that are creating severe fatigue and a multitude of other symptoms and conditions that you can learn about in my new book Thyroid Healing. These symptoms can be triggered off by this pollution as well. Additionally, allergy and asthma sufferers are greatly impacted by this practice. Oftentimes spring allergies people suffer from are largely due to the increase in the burning of plastics on agricultural lands during the spring season. Pollen may cause some irritation, but what could be triggering most of someone’s allergies is exposure to toxic, odor-free plumes. Because these crops are burned at different times in different areas, people can experience symptoms and conditions related to this destruction all year around.

The west coast has been especially impacted by this tragic practice, and when the winds blow, a terribly toxic soot that was created in the agricultural areas spreads throughout the west. Across the country, places have been affected by this free-flowing air pollution. This is especially true for states with warmer climates. Environmental groups are unaware of the immense harm this particular air pollution is causing and have no clue that this practice is one of the biggest reasons for air pollution-related illnesses in the world today.

Sadly, this is not even a necessary practice. Replacing these conventional techniques with organic farming practices could have a number of outstandingly positive consequences for our health. But as of right now, this destruction continues to take place.

If you are living near these agricultural lands, know that you do not necessarily need to move away from the place you call home. Even people eighty miles away from an area where burning occurs can be affected for a few days, a week or longer when a heavy period of burning takes place. Maybe you are outside breathing in polluted air and take a few steps back in your overall healing. If this happens, have faith that you will move forward once again. Instead of learning about these issues and growing fearful, I hope you can use this new knowledge to fight even harder against the things that are keeping you from embracing total health.

Besides air pollution from the burning plastics, you also need to be aware of the many chemicals falling out of the sky on a regular basis. Exhaust and jet fuel can be issues, especially for people who live near airports, but exhaust and jet fuel are not the only pollutants we need to worry about. I’m not going to expound on this topic in too much detail, but I just want to make you aware of the constant chemical fallout we are regularly exposed to. Other air pollutants include the radiation fallout from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It maybe surprising to learn that only a small fraction of the radiation from World War II has fallen to the ground level of earth thus far.

Not only are we up against the toxins that stem from the abuse of conventional agricultural lands, but we also have to fight off other environmental toxins as well as the viral explosion, toxic heavy metals, and radiation, which comprise part of the Unforgiving Four I share in my book Life-Changing Foods and cause illnesses I share in Thyroid Healing. Medical science and research are unaware that The Unforgiving Four are responsible for most illnesses today and these environmental issues are simply triggers to underlying health problems caused by these four factors. Fortunately, we are resilient, our bodies are always working for us, and you now know the truths that can help you to truly begin healing.

Communities

If you live in a gated community, retirement complex, condo, or other communal space, know that you are most likely being exposed to rampant pesticide use. Large quantities of pesticides are oftentimes sprayed in areas of community living unbeknownst to the people and families dwelling in these areas. The hundreds of pounds of pesticides used on the lawns, bushes, and other greenery in these community spaces not only affect those who choose to live in these places, but can also be carried to other locations by the wind. This is one reason why you may unknowingly be suffering from pesticide exposure.

Golf Courses, Parks, & Lawns

If you or a loved one likes to play golf, it is important to be aware of the environmental toxins you may be exposing yourself to. Lethal fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides cover most golf courses, and most people who play on these courses will suffer some negative health consequences because of it. Not only are your feet, ankles, and legs exposed to tremendous amounts of pesticides and herbicides, but you are breathing in these toxins as well.

Parks and sports fields are also heavily sprayed with chemicals. It is unfortunate that places such as these, that bring joy to so many families, can be highly toxic environments.

If you are spraying your lawn with an herbicide or treating the inside or outside of your home with insecticide, you may want to reconsider these methods of maintenance. Unfortunately, if you discontinue these practices but still have a neighbor who continues to use these toxic chemicals you may still suffer from mild exposure. If a home down the street is treated with pesticides around its foundation, a windy day could easily blow those toxins onto your property and cause you or your loved ones health issues to arise or grow worse. In a case such as this, someone could even develop a symptom of Lyme disease .

New Cars, Furniture, & Clothes

Have you ever gotten into a brand new car and noticed that smell that tends to be in new vehicles? Toxic solvents create that “new car” smell and can linger in a vehicle and cause problems for up to six months. If you have allergies or chemical sensitives and you get a new car, know that you may suffer with these symptoms more during the first few months after your purchase. If you do experience a slight setback in your healing during this time, do not lose faith. Continue to implement the healing protocol that is working for you and your body, and remember that the healing process involves steps forward and steps back.

If you buy a new piece of furniture, be aware that it is most likely laced with fungicides and nanotechnology. It may also have a smell, which is due to the high-level of solvents typically found in new fabrics. Even if the furniture does not smell, solvents are still usually present. Due to the toxic nature of the solvents, just sitting on a new piece of furniture could slow down someone’s healing. To protect yourself while waiting for the solvents to air out, buy a new comforter, wash it once or twice, and spread it over the new piece of furniture. Sitting on top of the comforter will help reduce your exposure to the solvents and help better support you healing.

Whenever you purchase new clothes, make sure to wash them before you wear them. This is true for any blankets, towels, quilts, and other bedding you buy. Many of these new pieces have been saturated with formaldehyde, fungicide, and other toxic chemicals. Try to avoid having your dry cleaning done at traditional dry cleaners as well. The toxic chemicals used at these places can hinder healing for some.

Detergents & Hair Care Products

When doing laundry, it is important to use a natural detergent. Conventional detergents usually contain petrol oil, which is an ingredient that may play a part in retarding your healing efforts.

Being mindful of the products you choose to use is important. This is true when it comes to the creams, gels, sprays, and other products you choose to use on your hair. One past client returned to my office after a period of time because her headaches had come back after a three month respite. I asked Spirit what was happening, and Spirit said that the client was using a different, more toxic brand of hairspray. My client confirmed this was the case. I suggested she stop using this new brand and return to using her old brand, which was slightly less toxic, or refrain from using hairspray altogether. The client was initially hesitant to stop using hairspray because she worried that her hair would not hold well and she would consequently not look her best at work. But eventually, my client came to realize that if she continued to use the hairspray, she would not even be able to show up to work because of the headaches the toxic hairspray could trigger.

Perfumes & Colognes

Perfumes and colognes are harmful and should be avoided whenever possible. Chemical compounds used in perfumes and colognes have the same chemical compound construction as particular pesticides and herbicides. You maybe surprised to learn that pesticides, when freshly placed on agricultural fields, smell just like the perfumes and colognes you would find at a department store. Anyone suffering from a chronic condition or symptom should stay clear of perfumes and colognes, which can greatly retard your healing process. If you suffer with chemical sensitivity, exposure to perfume or cologne can be particularly devastating. If you are hesitant to give up your perfume or cologne, try switching these products for some high-quality essential oils. Essential oils can give you a wonderful fragrance without exposing you to toxins.

Perfumes and colognes are so toxic that just breathing in the cologne or perfume of another colleague at work on a daily basis can actually set your healing back slightly. That being said, it is important to remember that healing does not happen in a straight line and that with patience and consistently applying the healing information I share, you can eventually overcome this hindrance.

Air Fresheners

Plug-in air fresheners, like perfumes and colognes, possess the same chemical compound construction as certain pesticides and herbicides. Remove any plug-in air fresheners you may have around your home and toss any air freshener sprays you maybe using. Air fresheners are so harmful that moving into a place where air fresheners were once used can actually slow down someone’s healing for a period of time.

Invisible Issues

I’ve worked with tens of thousands of clients throughout my life. There was a more than twenty-year span where I worked seven days a week, from six-thirty in the morning until midnight. During this time, there was a five year period where I even spent the holidays meeting with the many sick people who continued to pour into my office. I say this to highlight something I’ve learned from listening to Spirit throughout the countless readings I’ve done. There are many things we are up against in our lives. Some of these things are visible and many of these things are invisible. Below are stories of clients whose healing journeys were impacted by invisible forces that they were only made aware of after Spirit highlighted the exact elements getting in their way.

One client, whose health had been improving, experienced a three or four day period where they did not feel great once again. Spirit asked if the person had recently painted a room in their house and the person confirmed that yes, they had recently painted a room.

Another client, who suffered with Epstein-Barr, returned after a few months of improved health and said that he was feeling stuck and stagnant in his healing. Spirit asked if he had switched to eating only conventionally-grown produce. The client said that he had made the switch to only eating conventional produce to try and save a little extra money. I instructed him to try and eat organic produce at least 50% of the time, or as much as possible. Once he implemented these simple changes, his healing progress came out of stagnation and continued forward. Conventional produce isn’t terrible and benefits can still be garnered, but eating only conventional produce is not ideal if you can afford to bring in some organic options as well.

Another client who had been doing amazing for two years, felt that they had stumbled backwards in their healing and setup an appointment. Spirit told me that they had gotten their carpet cleaned recently, and they confirmed that after many years they had just recently gotten all of the carpets in their house cleaned. I then explained to the client that getting their carpets cleaned had stirred up their most recent health issues. This particular client ended up replacing their carpets with hardwood floors soon after. I realize this is not always possible and it depends on the individual’s life circumstances and living situation, but for this client, it was feasible and worth the investment.

So many people are being affected by these environmental factors. These are just a few examples of the thousands of clients I have helped who have faced these challenges.

Resilience & Adaptation

It is important to remember that even though we are being bombarded with environmental toxins wherever we live and wherever we go, our bodies are incredibly resilient. Even if you only lower the level of heavy metals in your body by a small margin, or slightly decrease your viral load, it is likely your body will noticeably reward you for your efforts. For those who are not familiar with the term “viral load” that I share in my books, radio shows, blog and elsewhere, or are not sure how it’s relevant, I’ve released the truth about how viruses like Epstein-Barr and others cause multiple symptoms that make people sick without them even being aware of it. You may be more familiar with terms like “candida”, “leaky gut”, “SIBO”, “fibromyalgia”, “autoimmune disease”, “chronic fatigue syndrome” and others, but there’s more to understand about these conditions and what’s really behind them and that’s what I share in my books. This is because your body has the ability to adapt once it is given the right foods, supplements, and care, and the body’s God-given, miraculous ability to adapt is a critical part of the healing process.

Trust that if you are giving your body what it needs, it will be able to better adapt to toxic fallout, and pollution in the air, toxic heavy metals we’ve inherited and taken in during our lifetime, and the viral explosion that’s currently impacting the world. Even with all these challenges to our health, our bodies are resilient and can bounce back regardless of where you live and what environmental toxins you may be up against.

When it comes to battling against environmental toxins, some of which can be seen, like black mold, and some of which go unseen, like the tremendously dangerous furans that come from burning highly toxic plastic, it is important to be gentle with yourself and patient with your healing journey. The symptoms and conditions you are experiencing are not your fault and do not stem from your body attacking itself or letting you down in any way. The notion that the body attacks itself is a tragically destructive belief and needs to be exposed for the mistake it truly is. For an in-depth look into this faulty idea, you can pre-order my newest book, Thyroid Healing. For right now, hold onto the fact that your body is not letting you down and is doing everything it can to fight against the external forces that are trying to bring it down.

Protecting Yourself

Here are a few simple tips to help begin protecting you and your loved ones:

• Conventional produce can offer health benefits, but try to bring in organic fruits and vegetables whenever you can. Organic produce can provide you with even greater healing support.

• Stay away from conventional animal products whenever possible. If you include animal products in your diet, stick to consuming antibiotic-free, grass-fed meats and free-range chicken. Keep in mind that at some restaurants you don’t necessarily know if you are actually being served high-quality animal products. If you are unsure about the quality of the animal products at a restaurant, you may want to consider a plant-based option for that particular meal.

Healing Foods

Bring wild blueberries into your diet if you want to help protect yourself against environmental toxins. Wild blueberries are forced to fight all types of environmental elements as they grow and are the most adaptogenic food you can consume. Try out other antioxidant-rich foods including other types of berries such as cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Melons, apples, peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, kiwis, oranges, pomelos, zucchinis and grapefruits are other powerhouse fruits to bring into your diet. While wild blueberries help protect you from pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, raspberries act as a protective shield against paint fumes. If you regularly find yourself around fresh paint, make sure to eat raspberries on a daily basis.

Incorporating vegetables is important as well. Try eating asparagus, a powerful shoot that can help to cleanse the kidneys, a pair of organs that are important for helping remove poisons from our body. Other vegetables to consider adding to your meals and snacks include artichokes, squashes, broccoli, and cauliflower. Some beneficial leafy greens include maché, spinach, swiss chard, red leaf lettuce, green leaf lettuce, and romaine. Consuming romaine daily can actually help protect against radiation. Adding a little kale to your diet each day can help prevent carpet chemicals from causing you too much harm. You can read more about the physical, emotional, and spiritual healing properties of these foods in my book Life-Changing Foods.

The heavy metal detox which I introduced in Medical Medium and can be found on my blog can be a great addition to someone’s daily routine. Barley grass juice extract powderspirulina, and Atlantic dulse, three components of the five heavy metal detox foods, are helpful for fighting against environmental pollutants. Seaweeds other than dulse can be very helpful foods to consume as well.

Hydration is an important piece of healing. Try bringing in cucumber juice when you can and include a daily lemon water to receive an extra punch of life-giving vitamin C and minerals. These hydrating drinks can help in protecting you from harmful elements. Celery juice, which is beneficial for so many health conditions and symptoms is a secret weapon when it comes to battling environmentally triggered health problems. Drinking celery juice daily for an extended period of time can do wonders for your body and overall health. If you want to include cilantro in your celery juice every so often, that combination can be supportive as well.

Healing Supplements

If you think you are exposed to an array of environmental toxins, bringing in ample vitamin C on a daily basis can be highly beneficial. Vitamin C is a powerful weapon against toxins and using it regularly and consistently can help along your healing process. Chaga mushroom and cordyceps are two mushrooms that may also offer positive support to someone suffering from an environmentally triggered illness.

Moving Forward

If your healing has stalled, grown stagnant, or seems to be moving in reverse, consider the environmental toxins that may be having an impact on your life. Instead of beating yourself up for not healing faster, or blaming your body for the slow progress, hold on to the truth that there are so many outside forces that impact your health on a daily basis and your body is fighting for you and loves you unconditionally! These may be environmental forces discussed above, but they could also be the emotional and mental stress of a difficult situation, as well as losses, betrayals, broken trust, and more. Hopefully understanding all the variables that play a role in our health and healing can allow you to give yourself and your body grace and compassion along your journey. That being said, know that your body is resilient, and can adapt, heal, and override any elements in its way.

I hope this information, much of which is unknown to medical science and research and the general public, empowers you, motivates you, and helps to push you forward in your healing journey. Do not spend time anxiously worrying about the invisible environmental toxins that maybe playing a part in hindering your healing journey. Instead, look at your unique situation, see the places where you can make small, beneficial changes, bring in transformative foods and supplements, and know that God and the Angels are working to help protect you and want to see you succeed. I’ve seen thousands of people up against a variety of environmental toxins fully recover and live vibrant, healthy lives. Try to move forward with patience, perseverance, and faith that you can do this too!

How much water do you drink in a day? How many fresh, raw fruits and vegetables do you consume? These are just a few questions that can help you start to evaluate how hydrated or dehydrated you might be. The majority of people today are chronically dehydrated, even if they don’t realize it or even feel thirsty.

Why are so many people chronically dehydrated? One main reason is the dehydrating effect of all the toxins and poisons you are exposed to throughout your time here on earth. Toxic heavy metals, radiation, the viral explosion, and DDT, which make up the Unforgiving Four I brought to light in my book Life-Changing Foods, can greatly impact your level of dehydration. Other pollutants you may encounter can have a dehydrating effect as well. Combine that with the food, drink, and lifestyle choices many people make, and the dehydration we come into this world with (more on this below), and you have a recipe for chronic dehydration.

You most likely have heard of the importance of staying hydrated, but do you know why hydration is so vitally important? The information shared here will highlight the many reasons why you and your loved ones need to stay hydrated and will provide you with some simple ways to begin reversing chronic dehydration and its negative effects.

How Thick Is Your Blood?

One of the reasons you should do your best to stay hydrated is to avoid developing thick blood. If you reach a certain level of dehydration, your blood can thicken and give rise to numerous health issues.

Once someone develops thick blood, it becomes much more challenging for his or her heart to draw up fresh, clean blood from the liver. The heart may also have greater difficulty providing the brain and other organs with adequate blood and oxygen. Over time, this continuous exertion can prematurely wear out the heart.

Some people enter the world with thick blood, while others develop it throughout their lifetime. As a person’s body grows more and more dehydrated, his or her blood will continue to thicken. Severe dehydration, which directly impacts the blood in the body, is often affected by the food choices people make each day.

High-Fat Diets

Although high-fat diets have become increasingly trendy, they do not provide your body with the hydration it needs to flourish and thrive. If you follow a high-protein diet, you are likely to still be consuming an abundance of fat in the form of animal protein and/or animal products. By eating this way, a person can quickly grow dehydrated and begin to develop thick blood. Animal protein can still be eaten if someone enjoys it, but it’s important to reduce the amount in the diet to avoid developing long term systemic chronic dehydration and the health risks this condition brings.

If your blood remains thick for an extended period of time, you may be setting yourself up for a host of major health issues including a stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), heart attack, liver and/or kidney problems, high blood pressure, and/or high cholesterol. The risk of cancer is considerably greater for people with thick blood because there is less oxygen circulating throughout the body, and the body becomes less capable of properly detoxing. As someone with thick blood ages, the risk of more health problems increases.

A person with thick blood may not reap the benefits of a detox protocol and/or exercise routine because thick blood often makes it harder for the body to flush out toxins. Even someone who appears to be in amazing shape can still have thick blood and a highly-acidic system. These hidden issues can easily lead to a stroke or heart attack in even the most fit-looking individual. In contrast, someone that does not appear extraordinarily fit, but manages to keep his or her blood thin and body hydrated through a nourishing diet and positive lifestyle choices may not be as likely to suffer from a stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and/or other health issue associated with thick blood. I have heard of many cases of freak heart attacks in very athletic, fit women and men that were mysteries to doctors. Whether the people sadly passed from the heart attack or survived it, they were still mysteries. Thick blood could easily have been an unknown mystery trigger that medical science and research are unaware of.

Our Dehydrated Lineage

You maybe surprised to learn that we come from a dehydrated lineage. I am sharing this truth for the first time. Medical and alternative health communities are not aware of this fact. Widespread chronic dehydration that affected our forefathers continues to be passed from generation to generation. This information is not passed through our genes, but through our cells, and we acquire this knowledge and state of chronic dehydration along with any inherited DDT, radiation, and mercury from our forefathers. Inherited chronic dehydration can come from as far back as two centuries ago, and still have a major impact on your health and the health of your loved ones today.

Dehydration & Bugs

Various bugs, such as Epstein-Barr virus, are more able to thrive and cause trouble in a body suffering from chronic dehydration and thick blood. If you are battling a condition such as Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, or MS, it is vitally important that you keep yourself as hydrated as possible. A critical mistake someone who suffers from an illness such as Lyme disease could make is to adopt an all-cooked, ketogenic diet. In this instance the person is likely to grow extremely dehydrated and develop thick blood, which are the perfect conditions for viruses and bacteria to proliferate and wreak havoc. You can read more about Lyme disease in my first book Medical Medium. Any hydration someone receives from drinking water while following such a diet will not be able to counteract the dehydration brought about by an abundance of high-fat and high-protein foods. Therefore, if you are battling any kind of virus or bug, hydration through proper food and beverage choices is crucial.

Dehydrating Beverages

Do you have a coffee in the morning to help start your day off? Or a soda in the afternoon to help keep your energy levels up? Do you indulge in a martini during happy hour after a long day at the office, or sip on a glass of wine with dinner? Some people partake in all of these beverages, and it has become normal in many cultures to do so. Unfortunately, this pattern over time can set someone up for severe dehydration and a host of related health problems. Even if you choose to drink some water between your soy latte and nightly espresso, your body is likely to still suffer from dehydration. And, it is important to not be fooled by iced coffee and iced tea. Although these beverages may appear better for you, they are both dehydrating as well.

Even if you choose to drink only one coffee each morning and fill the rest of your day with glasses of water and a hydrating smoothie meal, you are still likely to be dehydrated and may even be on the brink of developing thick blood. While coffee is not the worst thing you can ingest, it certainly has an impact on your level of hydration.

Although coffee is not the best option for your overall health, unlike dairy products or eggs, it will not feed a virus. If you are trying to adopt healthier eating and lifestyle choices, it is more important that you cut out these virus-feeding foods (you can read more about these foods in my books Medical Medium and Life-Changing Foods). If you choose to enjoy a cup of decaf or regular caffeinated coffee every so often, that’s ok. Just take care to be especially mindful of seeking out ample hydration from the other foods and liquids you consume. This is true for any dehydrating beverage. If you indulge in a soda, alcoholic beverage, latte, or iced coffee— bringing in hydration through the other food and drink choices you make is critical for keeping your blood thin and your body running smoothly.

The Salt Factor

It is easy to encounter high-levels of salt in the foods and meals you consume each day. Unfortunately, the salt that is liberally sprinkled on dishes at restaurants and found in many packaged food items is not the salt your body needs to function and may actually be negating any efforts you take to stay hydrated.

Adequate sodium levels in the body are critical, and the sources of this sodium can be found in mineral-salt rich vegetables such as celery and spinach. Unlike refined salt, these veggies provide your body with a health-giving sodium that doesn’t dehydrate your system. While researchers know that there is salt in celery, they have yet to discover all of the life-giving sodium subgroups found in this incredible food. You can read more about the healing benefits of celery in my book Life-Changing Foods.

Snacking on celery sticks and other sodium-rich veggies is a great way to bring essential mineral-salts into your diet. If you're looking for a meal that’s rich in both sodium and hydration, try whipping up a bowl of spinach soup. Including this recipe daily can be a transformative step.

Cooked Food

Eating a diet that is exclusively cooked can be one reason someone remains dehydrated. Cooked foods force your body to pull liquid from different organs and cells to help break them down. This doesn’t mean cooked food is bad, but being mindful to balance your intake of cooked food with raw fruits and veggies can greatly aid your level of hydration. One person might be drawn to eating mostly or entirely raw, while someone else might eat about 50% raw food and 50% cooked. Try to figure out the ratio of raw to cooked foods that feels right for you and your body. If you aren’t up for bringing any raw foods into your diet at this time, at least try to make the healthiest food choices you can and consider bringing lemon water into your daily routine as a way to provide your body with some hydration.

If you’re wanting a healing meal that is around 50% raw and 50% cooked, you could try eating a baked potato alongside a hydrating raw salad filled with lettuce, celery, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, and other chopped veggies. Another good meal option is wild rice or quinoa, steamed or sautéed veggies, and a raw guacamole with lemon, cilantro, and chopped red onion served on top of raw leafy greens. If you’re someone who enjoys animal protein, like a piece of salmon, always have it with a fresh salad to bring more hydration and nutrients into your meal. Meals such as these are great for people who are working to stay hydrated because the raw portion of the dish helps offset some of the other cooked foods that may be slightly dehydrating.

Cooked soups can be healthy and healing in certain ways, but they do not provide your body with hydration. A powerful soup to incorporate into your diet is the healing broth. Although this soup can be incredibly beneficial for the body, it still does not provide the body with hydration on its own. However, the broth, which is loaded with healing mineral salts, can help the body access the right kind of water from other, hydrating food sources you consume. The healing broth is just one example of the many foods that can be healing, but not hydrating. On a day where you have the healing broth, it would be beneficial to incorporate some hydrating foods as well such as fresh coconut water, lemon water, cucumber juice, celery juice, a raw salad with cucumber slices, and/or celery sticks.

Bone Broth

Drinking bone broth is a current health fad, but incorporating this broth into your diet can actually be extremely dehydrating. If you want to continue to consume this liquid, there are a few things that you can do to better support your body along the way.

In general, incorporating fresh, raw juices into your diet can be beneficial, but if you drink bone broth, bringing in daily juices is critical. Try adding celery juice, cucumber juice, or a green juice into your diet once or twice a day. Lemon water and/or a hydrating morning smoothie can be beneficial as well.

In addition, try removing the vinegar from your bone broth recipe. There is a misconception that vinegar can extract nutrients from the bones better than a high-quality water. In actuality, high-quality water by itself does a better job of drawing out nutrients, and the broth itself becomes slightly more nutritious and not quite as dehydrating.

When you are making your own bone broth, forgo tap water and use high-quality water instead. Tap water contains fluoride and chlorine, which will interfere with the extraction of all the minerals that you’re trying to acquire inside the bone marrow. These chemicals cancel out the minerals you’re trying to receive and make your bone broth worthless. Make sure to simmer the bones in a solid cooking simmer, and avoid having them rest in lukewarm water. These are just a few critical tips you can implement if you wish to continue drinking bone broth that are not understood even among the bone broth experts.

Hydration for Detoxification

If you are properly hydrated, your body is able to rid the liver, kidneys, and other parts of the body of unwanted toxins and poisons. To understand exactly which toxins and poisons the liver harbors to protect you, and more steps you can take to recover your health, check out my book Liver Rescue

The heavy metal detox smoothie is a great recipe because it not only contains the key foods that draw out heavy metals (unknown by medical science and research), but it provides the body with the hydration needed to make total elimination of toxins possible. Other supplements or products that are advertised as heavy metal detoxifiers are most likely not going to provide you with the adequate hydration needed to help you fully eliminate the heavy metals from your system. They likely won’t be made of the ingredients that successfully remove heavy metals either. In this instance, the poisons will most likely continue to cause problems.

Panic, Anxiety, & Depression

If you suffer with anxiety, panic, or depression it is critical that you stay hydrated. If your body is dehydrated and your blood thickens, all three of these issues can worsen. If you suffer from any neurological problem or are under intense stress, hydration is critical as well. Make sure to keep ample raw food in your diet, graze frequently throughout the day, and switch out dehydrating beverages, like coffee, for more hydrating liquids, like cucumber juice or lemon water. These practices can significantly help as you work to heal these issues.

Gallstones

If you suffer from chronic dehydration for an extended period of time, gallstones may begin to form in your gallbladder. A high-protein diet and the elimination of fresh fruit can also contribute to the formation of gallstones. Unfortunately, you may not even become aware of gallstone issues until you are forced to have your gallbladder removed in your mid-fifties. To prevent this from happening, make sure to include an abundance of fruit in your diet. Unlike high-protein diets, which allow gallstones to build up in the gallbladder, diets brimming with fresh fruits and vegetables can assist in breaking down and dissolving any gallstones that may form. If you enjoy animal protein but you want to avoid gallstones forming, you can simply lower your animal protein while increasing fruits and vegetables in your diet. If you believe you already have gallstones and they are causing pain or problems, it’s best to eliminate all animal protein temporarily until the problem is addressed.

Hydrating Yourself

When it comes to hydrating yourself, most people know to reach for water, but make sure it is high-quality water. If there are traces of chlorine in the water it can be extremely dehydrating. Below are some more phenomenal ways to begin hydrating your body.

*  Cucumber juice can be incredibly hydrating! Try slicing up a few cucumbers and running them straight through a juicer on there own. Drinking a 16oz glass of cucumber juice everyday can do wonders for your hydration. If your day tends to be filled with a variety of really dehydrating foods such as chicken, bacon, and bone broth with vinegar, including a daily glass of cucumber juice is essential. As you drink a glass of cucumber juice, know that you are helping to thin out your blood and as a result, supporting your heart and the energy it exerts.

*  Try adding lemon water into your daily routine. Simply squeeze lemon into a glass of high-quality water and start to sip! You can do this once a day, twice a day, or three times a day like I do! Fresh lemon can also add an extra boost of hydration to a number of things including raw salads and herbal teas.

*  Coconut water, even if it has been pasteurized, can hydrate the body!

*  Bringing fresh, raw veggies into your diet can be highly beneficial. Try throwing sliced cucumbers into a salad, snacking on celery sticks, or creating a raw pasta dish with spiralized zucchini or cucumbers and pile on fresh tomatoes and red, orange, or yellow bell peppers.

*  Fruit is hydrating! Fresh fruits have countless benefits and offering hydration is just one of them. If you or a loved one is concerned about incorporating fruit into your diet, check out the “Fruit Fear” chapter in Medical Medium.

When it comes to staying hydrated, know that you don’t have to drown yourself in water. However, adding some water, as well as certain foods in their whole and liquid form can be exceptionally valuable. Try to drink fresh juices, whip up a daily smoothie, bring in a living spinach soup when possible, throw in a coconut water whenever you can, and try squeezing fresh lemon or lime into your water and on your salads when it comes to mind! If you are on the search for more delicious and hydrating meals, check out some of the recipes in my book, Life-Changing Foods.

I personally try to drink around two liters of water everyday with lemon juice squeezed in. In addition, I’ll bring in celery juice, cucumber juice, and oftentimes 16 to 32 oz of fresh squeezed orange juice. These are just a few of the ways I try to keep myself hydrated. Each person’s needs are different when it comes to hydration though. An avid exerciser might want to bring more than two liters of water into their daily routine. Play around with all of these suggestions and see which ideas work best for you!

Herbal Tea

Hot herbal tea is not hydrating, but it does not dehydrate you like other beverages might and still has a host of healing benefits to offer your body. Tea can be hydrating if you make it by putting fresh herb leaves, such as peppermint or lemon balm, in a jar of water and leaving it on the countertop to steep for around 6 hours. After that, you can stick it in the fridge and drink the hydrating beverage whenever you want!

Some herbs can be dehydrating, but most common herbs used to make teas do not have this dehydrating effect. Black tea, caffeine-containing green tea, and Earl Grey tea are all dehydrating varieties. If you are hoping to increase your level of hydration, avoiding these teas for the time being maybe beneficial.

Water Drinking Contests

Warning! Never participate in a water-drinking contest. Every few years, people begin to forget about the horrors of past water-drinking contests and a new one arises. This is part of human nature— we forget about the past and always repeat mistakes from every genre that exists on the planet. Typically a poor contestant will drink him or herself to death literally. Make sure that you and your loved ones avoid these devastatingly harmful competitions.

Moving Forward

Hydration is critical for electrolytes and thinning out your blood. It can help keep anxiety, depression, and panic at bay, and can support your body in its detox efforts. Even if you entered this world with chronic dehydration, know that there are ways to reverse what you’ve inherited.

The wonderful fact is that you can begin to heal from chronic dehydration by taking small, manageable steps. Is there something you can begin to incorporate into your daily protocol to support yourself as you work to thin out your blood and increase your hydration? Something as simple as a glass of lemon water is a great start. It takes time and consistent healing practices to make up for years of chronic dehydration, but it is definitely possible and worth it for your overall health and vitality!
