Hello and welcome to the Medical Medium Blog. I'm so happy to have you here. Visit this blog anytime for inspiration and valuable insights on fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, recipes, and practices that will help you to heal and feel your best. Happy reading!
It’s easy to get swept up in the belief that the ultimate healing food is hiding somewhere in the tropical wilds. We read about researchers who scour the jungle for miracle roots and berries, and we see exotic dried fruits for sale at the grocery store with packages proclaiming them “superfoods.” Maybe one day, we tell ourselves, a true miracle food will be discovered out there in the rain forest—the root or berry or herb or nut that will save humanity. While of course the rain forest has potent medicine to offer, that’s not where scientists will find the most valuable food that can save us. The world’s most powerful food is hiding on low, scrubby bushes in plain sight. I’m talking about the wild blueberry. There is not a cancer that wild blueberries cannot prevent, nor a disease known to humankind that wild blueberries do not protect you from. Do not confuse wild blueberries with their larger, cultivated cousins, which, while great for your health, don’t offer even a fraction of wild blueberries’ power.
The difference between cultivated and wild blueberries is the difference between farm raised salmon and wild salmon, or between industrial, grain-fed beef and freerange, grass-fed beef. Bringing cultivated blueberries into your life is like drinking from a paper cup; bringing wild blueberries into your life is like drinking from the golden cup that Jesus once drank from—the Holy Grail. Wild blueberries hold ancient and sacred survival information from the heavens, going back tens of thousands of years. They have adapted to every fluctuation in climate over the millennia. Their innate intelligence has prevented them from accepting a monoculture; instead, they thrive with more than 100 variable strains that look similar yet have different genetic makeups, so that these plants can never be eradicated, no matter what comes in the future.
While other food plants can only continue after a fire if their seeds survive and are replanted, wild blueberry plants can be burned to the ground, and they will come back stronger than ever. No other food on the planet has the ability to thrive in such trying conditions. It is the number-one adaptogen, period—even though it is not recognized as an adaptogenic food at all. Currently, wild blueberries are acknowledged by nutrition experts for their sky-high levels of antioxidants. It goes beyond that—they have the highest proportion of antioxidants of any food on the planet. On top of that, these tiny jewels have a plethora of undiscovered qualities. For one, they’re armed with dozens of antioxidant varieties that science does not yet know about, along with polyphenols, anthocyanins, anthocyanidins, dimethyl resveratrol, and as yet unknown cofactor adaptogenic amino acids. When you eat these berries, their innate intelligence reads your body, searches out potential disease, monitors your stress and toxicity levels, and figures out the best way to heal you—it is the only food that does that.
One of the most effective heavy metal detoxing foods, wild blueberries are fantastic at removing all other Unforgiving Four factors, too. Wild blueberries are also the most powerful brain food in existence, the most potent prebiotic there is, and a star at restoring the liver. Essentially, this fruit offers a benefit unobtainable from any other source for every part of the body. There is more information in one wild blueberry plant than there is on the entire Internet. If researchers had the technology to decipher what’s inside wild blueberries and how to use it all, they would develop cures for every condition. One hundred years from now, medical science will use the wild blueberry as the key to unlock the secrets of how to heal disease. This is the food you want in your life when you’ve been through the unthinkable and need the support to rise up again. It’s also for anyone who needs a physical boost or strives athletically—wild blueberries in the system could mean the difference between life or death for a rock climber in a perilous situation. Wild blueberries are the sole food on the planet to contain the full power of the divine, the Holy Source, the universe, and they are revered by the angels as the key to keeping the human race alive in the coming times. Wild blueberries are, above all, the resurrection food.
If you have any condition, particularly if it’s cancerous or related to the brain and/or nerves, try bringing wild blueberries into your life.
If you have any symptom, whether emotional, spiritual, or physical, try bringing wild blueberries into your life.
Wild blueberries have more inspiration to offer us than even the best motivational speakers on the planet, because they mend us on an emotional level. Wild blueberries strengthen the very fabric of who we are so that we won’t be so susceptible to punishment, rejection, scorn, humiliation, devastation, and degradation. If you’ve struggled with feeling criticized, depreciated, discredited, mistreated, or neglected, this is a holy, healing food for you.
I’m sure you’ve had an experience in life that leveled you. Something, whether an illness, troubled relationship, or tragic event, that brought you to your knees and practically annihilated your sense of self. Wild blueberries understand what you’ve been through. They know who you are, the damages you’ve dealt with, and how to help you rise again. Native Americans observed early on that when wildfire occurred, the only thing that would grow in its path afterward were wild blueberry plants—in fact, they would come back stronger and healthier than ever before. This is the source of the wild blueberry’s power: not only can it rise from the ashes, it uses those ashes to its benefit. And when frozen, because they are true adaptogens, wild blueberries don’t lose their nutritional value as some fruits and vegetables do; their nutrition increases. The challenge of withstanding the freezing process pushes the fruit to perform at the top of its game, providing you with greater nutritional force and bioavailability.
On both ends of the spectrum, in fire and ice, wild blueberries don’t just survive; they triumph. They take an adverse circumstance, meet it, and become better for it. When you eat this supernatural fruit, that indestructible essence becomes a part of you. Lastly: We all hear a lot of talk about having the right mind-set to attract abundance, shaping our thoughts and actions to manifest the lives we want. This can be very helpful. A person who feels positive is more likely to make choices that lead her or him to more positivity. Sometimes, though, the subject tears us down. The last thing someone who’s sick, suffering, or in otherwise unfortunate circumstances needs is to feel like they somehow created, attracted, or brought it upon themselves. If you want to know one of the secrets to manifesting abundance, it’s the wild blueberry. I know, that’s not what you’d expect! And yet it’s true. These little berries are that powerful. When you are striving for anything, when you want to live a life of bounty and blessings, turn to wild blueberries and watch the magic happen.
Often the easiest place to find wild blueberries is in the frozen-food aisle at the local supermarket, in the cases that carry smoothie ingredients. As I said above, freezing makes the berries even healthier. To enjoy them, either whip them up into a frozen treat, or thaw and enjoy. Frozen wild blueberries blended with frozen bananas make a delicious and wholesome-beyond-belief ice cream.
* If you’re in the United States, seek out frozen or fresh wild blueberries from Maine. If you’re in Canada, seek out those from eastern Canada. If you live in another country, don’t underestimate the wild blueberries that may be growing in your region; they hold miraculous benefits that far exceed those of any cultivated blueberry.
* If you know someone who’s challenged by an illness, offer her or him wild blueberries to show your goodwill.
* When you eat wild blueberries, make a mindful note that they’ve been graced by God and the universe, that they are a gift from above.

Inflammation—you’ve probably heard this term thrown around, and, whether you were aware of it or not, you’ve most likely experienced some type of inflammation during your lifetime. At present, the word inflammation is used liberally in medical communities. If you are suffering from pain in certain areas, a medical professional may deem it inflammation. “There’s inflammation in there,” a doctor may remark after reviewing MRI results. Or, “you’re inflamed,” a practitioner may say when you share you have joint pain, a rash, or strange pains. Really inflammation is a “lazy term,” because inflammation is the result of a deeper issue, it is never the answer itself. While I support medical professionals observing and attempting to relieve inflammation, I want these experts and you and your loved ones to know that inflammation is not the cause of any issue. Nor is it an independent issue. There is something else going on if you have inflammation— it doesn’t operate alone. This mistaken belief needs to be rectified.
Inflammation is a sign that there is a greater problem taking place in the body. If an individual is complaining of back pain, knee problems, or gut issues, his or her doctor or practitioner may suggest that inflammation is to blame. And, while inflammation may be present, it is never the answer. It is simply an indication that something else in the body needs to be addressed. The mistake here is not the medical communities wanting to address and relieve the inflammation— although the methods suggested to find relief are not always helpful— the great mistake is regarding the inflammation itself as the answer to someone’s symptoms and conditions. I delve far more deeply into this topic in my third book, Thyroid Healing.
The Two Reasons for Inflammation
Inflammation never develops on its own, and only emerges for two reasons. In the human body where hundreds of millions of undiscovered chemical functions and chemical reactions are taking place per cubic inch, it might be surprising to learn that there are only two reasons behind inflammation, but this is the irrefutable truth that I have to share with you. Medical communities are completely unaware of this fact. The first reason inflammation may appear is if you experience a physical injury. Physicians are aware of this type of inflammation. Any damage to the body, whether it be external or internal, may give rise to inflammation. What most doctors and health practitioners aren’t aware of is that an invader in the body is the second reason inflammation can surface. Invader refers to any type of pathogen in the body.
Have you ever sustained a sports or exercise-related injury? In this instance, inflammation related to that injury likely emerged. Other examples of injuring yourself that may result in inflammation include getting dental work done, accidentally cutting yourself, or slipping on ice in the wintertime. A movement as simple as tripping on a curb can lead to a serious sprained ankle and extensive inflammation. You can also sustain an injury from a chemical or burn. This is the type of inflammation most doctors and health practitioners are aware causes inflammation. If a physical injury is not to blame for your inflammation, than you will be dealing with an invader.
There are hundreds of invaders that can stir up inflammation issues in the body from rashes to body aches and pains and much more. Recovering from a knee replacement surgery is just one example of how pathogens can create inflammation and impact the body’s ability to heal. Someone may have knee replacement surgery, recover quickly and find him or herself walking soon after without issue. In this instance, the person is not likely to have had invaders triggering inflammation issues around the area where the surgery took place. However, if you have knee replacement surgery and the knee does not seem to be calming down or healing properly after an extended period of recovery, it is likely that an invader is creating issues. This invader and the chronic inflammation it can provoke may have even been part of the reason the knee joint wore out initially. When it comes to knee and hip replacements, often a slow, extended recovery, at least in part, is related to the Epstein-Barr virus in the body.
At present, some medical professionals blame inflammation on the body attacking itself, but this is a disastrously inaccurate theory and claim. As I’ve said so many times before and will continue to maintain— the body does not attack itself. There are only two reasons someone will suffer from inflammation— neither of which is the body attacking itself. I brought this truth to light in my first book, Medical Medium, and again in my second book, Life-Changing Foods. I go into even greater detail in my upcoming book, Thyroid Healing. It is critical that the faulty and damaging theory of autoimmune disease be rectified. This is just one of the many great mistakes I continuously work hard to shed light on in order to protect you and your loved ones.
Types of Inflammation
Below are some common types of inflammation. Through these examples, you can develop a better understanding of how invaders play a major role in the creation of inflammation in the body.
Many people suffer from different levels of brain inflammation. Nerves connected to the brain run throughout the body, branching out into various parts of the system. Neurological inflammation can occur when these nerves become inflamed. Numerous pathogenic invaders can play a part in the creation of this neurological inflammation, along with other factors like heavy metal poisoning or MSG toxicity.
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), which has a number of other labels including myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, and systemic exertion intolerance disease, is often the result of mild brain inflammation from an Epstein-Barr virus. Even very mild brain inflammation can trigger a severe case of this condition. If you have CFS, a specialist may be able to tell you that you have brain inflammation, but he or she will not be able to tell you the pathogen responsible. For decades I’ve been able to tell people whether Epstein-Barr is the invader, or Epstein-Barr and shingles are the invaders, or whether it’s a combination of Epstein-Barr, shingles, and HHV-6, all thanks to Spirit’s advanced knowledge and guidance on the subject. Sadly, because many working with those who suffer from chronic illness aren’t yet aware of the information I share, patients are being incorrectly told that their bodies are attacking themselves. This not only serves to breakdown the immune system, but does not provide people with the answers they need to heal.
Inflammation in various organs can lead to major health issues, but it’s the pathogen or injury that is the true cause of these issues. Liver inflammation is an issue I see with extreme frequency. Liver inflammation is often the result of pathogens wreaking havoc in this organ. An invader can cause a number of problems including triggering elevated liver enzymes. If particular damage is seen on an MRI or CT scan, someone may be handed a hepatitis C diagnosis. Although medical communities know that hepatitis A, B, C, and D stem from viral issues, what medical research and medical science do not know is which virus is creating these issues. They have no clue that the cause of hepatitis C is Epstein-Barr creating damage in the liver for an extended period of time because they have yet to single out the particular bugs that are triggering these issues.
Instead, the medical profession has to rely on on inflammatory markers in the blood or MRIs and CT scans to classify a hepatic liver at different stages of inflammation. What they have not yet realized is that inflammation is not the answer! The true answer is that Epstein-Barr virus, sometimes along with other herpetic viruses, are creating the inflamed liver. A doctor might also try to pin mystery liver inflammation on autoimmune issues, but as I said earlier, inflammation never stems from the body attacking itself because the body never attacks itself. Do not let a medical professional convince you that your liver inflammation, your fibromyalgia, your rheumatoid arthritis, or any other health problem is because your body is attacking itself. This is never ever the case!
Eye inflammation can arise from a number of different bacteria getting into this organ. You can pick up a stye, staph or come down with the flu just from touching door handles in public places and rubbing your eyes. Glaucoma stems from a mutated variety of the Epstein-Barr virus that triggers eye problems. Learn more about the various Epstein-Barr varieties and the symptoms and conditions they can create in my first book, Medical Medium.
Other types of inflammation you may experience include skin inflammation, gut inflammation, or colon inflammation. A number of invaders can enter the gut, wreak havoc, and trigger inflammation. For example, if you suffer from small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) you most likely have streptococcus in your system that is creating inflammation and other issues in the gut. To learn more about SIBO, check out my “Healing SIBO” radio show. Various viruses and bacteria can sit inside the colon and stir up major issues. Some of the viruses you may be dealing with include a variety of the shingles, a strain of Epstein-Barr, a mutated HHV-6 virus, cytomegalovirus, undiscovered HHV-10, HHV-11, HHV-12 or another of the many herpetic viruses in existence. Conditions connected to colon inflammation can have a number of different instigators. If you suffer from colitis, a variety of the shingles virus is often the culprit. As I shared in my first book, Medical Medium, there are many varieties of undiscovered non-rashing shingles that cause a host of health problems. However, if you are suffering from irritable bowel, streptococcus may be to blame.
Inflammation can also occur if you catch a flu. If you are only experiencing cold-like symptoms you may think you have a rhinovirus, but these viruses no longer exist. I shared more on this topic in my radio show and article on Colds and Flus. The flu, which has globally taken over, now emerges approximately every two months, and can trigger severe inflammation. It can trigger inflammation in the sinuses, chest, lungs, and gut and may give rise to issues such as bronchitis, a serious cough, and severely weakened adrenals. Another reason for inflamed sinuses is the result of streptococcus inside the sinus linings. Streptococcus, which can be nestled inside these linings since childhood, can create persistent mystery sinus inflammation.
The Effect of Food
An alternative, conventional, or integrative doctor or practitioner is likely to balk at the fact that there are only two causes of inflammation— injuries and invaders. Some doctors or practitioners may respond with the inaccurate notion that certain foods, such as wheat, inflame certain individuals, but this is not accurate. Gluten itself does not inflame the body. What gluten does do is feed the invaders (pathogens) in your body that give rise to inflammation. I’ve worked tirelessly to get this information to medical communities and to the public, and I’ve happily noticed that this truth is starting to slowly ripple out into the health world.
For example, there is a tremendous amount of misinformation surrounding celiac disease. Celiac is not hereditary. It is an inflammatory illness where pathogens in the body are feverishly feeding on any gluten that’s consumed. Fueling these pathogens can lead to a host of negative reactions in the body, but the gluten is not directly responsible for any of these negative consequences.
If you do not have a pathogen in your system or only have an extremely dormant pathogen, then you will be able to eat all the gluten you desire without creating inflammation. Unproductive food choices may lead to other issues like the development of gallstones, which could lead to an internal injury if the gallstone gets stuck in the gallbladder duct, but any inflammation that arises from this issue would be injury- not pathogen-related.
I’ve known some seventy, eighty, and ninety-year-old men and women who have been able to eat some very unhealthy foods, including a tremendous amount of gluten, because they do not have invaders in their bodies that are feeding on these foods and creating inflammation. For many people in their seventies, eighties, and nineties this is not the case, but for a few anomalous individuals pathogen-related inflammation is nearly nonexistent.
The Role of Heavy Metals
Like the foods you choose to eat, heavy metals in the system do not technically cause inflammation. However, heavy metals are a preferred food for invaders in the body that do cause inflammation. Over a year ago, I discussed this exact concept with a practitioner who had at first suggested that heavy metals were the cause of inflammation. I told him what actually happens— that heavy metals feed pathogens that are then more likely to create inflammation and other issues in the body. It’s very important to remove heavy metals from the body for this reason. It is critical that both practitioners and patients begin to learn the truth about where inflammation stems from.
There are a number of inflammatory tests you can have done, but I like to refer to these tests as “guess tests” because they can only reveal so much information and do not highlight the underlying cause or provide you with answers on how to move forward. Let’s take a look as some of the available inflammatory “guess tests”.
The C-reactive protein test simply lets doctors know that there is inflammation, but the test cannot reveal why the inflammation is present. This is true of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR or sed rate) test as well. Once doctors use these tests to establish that you have inflammation, they are likely to hand you a label, but will not be able to provide you with a cause or sufficient answers to help you heal. The plasma viscosity (PV) test, IgA and IgG tests, and the antinuclear antibody test (ANA), are some other tests that may help to reveal inflammation in your body, but will not provide you with any additional insight into the true cause. This is because the tests are not yet advanced enough and also because the true causes of chronic illnesses are unknown to medical communities. Read my first book, Medical Medium, to learn more about the true causes of many chronic illnesses. Like many of the others tests, the liver enzyme blood work test and other similar tests, some of which are still being developed, only identify inflammation.
One promising step in the Lyme disease world is that experts are starting to make a connection between inflammation and a pathogen wreaking havoc in the body. Although experts are currently suggesting the wrong pathogen as the cause of Lyme, the foundational idea that pathogens are one of the issues behind inflammation is a positive step forward. I believe that movement toward truth should be celebrated, no matter how small! If you have strongly-held beliefs about Lyme disease that oppose these truths or are just curious to learn more, check out my radio show, “The Unknown Cause of Lyme Disease,” or read the "Lyme Disease” chapter in my first book, Medical Medium.
Supportive Foods & Supplements
When you are working to reduce inflammation, the more anti-inflammatory foods you can bring into your diet the better. Garlic, which helps kill pathogens, is an excellent anti-inflammatory food. Figs can kill pathogens in the gut, making them an incredible anti-inflammatory option as well. If you have a number of pathogens in your system, it is best to not eat too many figs in one sitting because of the strong detox reaction you may experience.
Like figs, kiwis work in the gut to help destroy pathogens. The anti-pathogenic properties in lemons and limes are powerful, so make sure to squeeze these citrus fruits in water, on salads, and in your favorite sauces and dressings. If you are suffering with inflammation and think you may have a bacteria, parasite or virus of any kind, bring plenty of pears into your diet. Their anti-inflammatory attributes can be incredibly beneficial. Papaya can be a particularly powerful food if you are suffering from gut inflammation.
Apples, wild blueberries, and leafy greens such as lettuces, arugula, and kale are other wonderful, pathogen-fighting foods that consequently help lower inflammation. Peaches, plums, nectarines, melons, mangos, and cherries are even more, flavorful anti-inflammatory recommendations. Some pathogen-destroying, anti-inflammatory herbs to incorporate into your diet include rosemary, thyme, sage, and oregano. Another supportive food to bring in regularly is aloe vera. Learn how to make aloe water on my blog or try out the tasty aloe cooler recipe in my book, Life-Changing Foods. Many of these anti-inflammatory foods are detailed in my second book, Life-Changing Foods.
Nettle leaf and lemon balm are wonderful anti-pathogenic supplement options. Licorice root, another anti-inflammatory choice, is especially good at fighting off herpetic viruses. Bringing in a licorice root supplement or regularly drinking licorice root tea can be a powerful step. I frequently mention various herbal teas that can offer anti-inflammatory benefits on my radio show, in my books, and in other blog posts.
Foods to Avoid
As you bring more life-giving, anti-inflammatory fruits and veggies into your diet, it is beneficial to begin eliminating the foods that feed the pathogens that trigger an inflammatory response. Foods to remove from your diet while you heal include wheat, gluten, and dairy such as milk, cheese, butter, kefir, and yogurt. Other foods to exclude if you have inflammation or think you may be inflamed are eggs, pork, canola oil, and corn.
At present, medical communities are using inflammation as as a catch-all term, but it is important that experts begin to recognize inflammation is caused by more than just physical injuries—it’s also caused by invaders. And if some are aware that inflammation is caused by invaders, identifying which pathogen is impossible with today’s medical testing methods. People need answers that are not contaminated, attached to interest groups, medical funding, trendy theories, or botched research. People need pure, clean, truthful healing information.
I’ve seen people with heartbreakingly severe inflammation who haven’t been given the answers they need to heal. My hope is that this article and the other Medical Medium resources available help bring you new hope and renewed faith in your body’s ability to move past the inflammation and its underlying cause. You can overcome this! Trust your body, trust the accuracy of this information, and know that I will never stop rooting for you along the way!

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) is a widespread issue that has become a popular diagnosis in recent years. Not only will this article highlight the underlying cause of SIBO, but it will also reveal manageable steps you can take to begin overcoming this disorder.
Have you or a loved one been handed a SIBO diagnosis? Your doctor or practitioner may have prescribed an antibiotic, or recommend dietary changes and herbal remedies, but he or she was most likely unable to tell you the true underlying cause seeing that medical research and medical science have still not uncovered this answer. Although medical communities recognize the role bacteria plays in this condition, they have yet to specify the type or determine why the overgrowth developed originally. Fortunately, I have the truth to share with you here today so that you and your loved ones can finally heal the symptoms associated with this condition.
The True Underlying Cause
If you receive a SIBO diagnosis, your doctor is likely to suggest you begin taking an antibiotic. Unfortunately, in many cases any antibiotic you use will only offer temporary relief. Before we address what you can implement instead of antibiotics to help truly heal the root cause of SIBO, you must understand the reason SIBO emerges in the first place. The medical world recognizes that SIBO is bacterial, but they are not aware that SIBO originates from chronic streptococcus in the body system. If you’ve listened to some of my other radio shows or read some of my other blog posts you may already know this truth that I have previously revealed.
For many people, streptococcus appears during childhood. It can be passed from a mother or father at conception and an infant can enter the world with strep already in his or her system. Others may pick up strep as young children in a daycare center, kindergarten, or school setting. Strep is easily passed from one person to another as an adult also, and there are a number of varieties one can contract.
Throughout the years, medical professionals have tended to focus on group A strep and group B strep, two of the eight groups of strep medical research and medical science have publicly recognized. However, groups A through H are just a fraction of the actual number of strep groups in existence. In truth, there are not enough letters in the alphabet to classify the number of strep groups wreaking havoc. There may be some brilliant researchers working in laboratories who have stumbled upon the fact that there are far more strep mutations than just A through H, but this discovery and many more like it are concealed or withheld. This is because of special interest groups in medicine that would prefer funding go to other areas of medicine so that various forms of information are never released to health professionals or the public.
Conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bacterial vaginosis are also a result of streptococcus in the system, but these issues are often blamed on an unspecified bacterial infection or yeast infection. Even if some doctors were aware of the fact that these conditions are strep-related, they would most likely have trouble observing the strep. If strep has been in your system for an extended period of time, it can become nearly impossible to identify its existence in the body through the various methods of testing available today both in the medical and alternative health worlds.
Nowadays, one of the few instances in which doctors and practitioners look for strep is when a woman is pregnant or looking to become pregnant. Although doctors and practitioners can occasionally detect strep through a vaginal strep test, these tests are not foolproof and doctors are still often unable to identify the many varieties of this elusive bacterium. This is true even if it is unquestionably in the body on account of the strep-related conditions someone is experiencing, such as SIBO.
SIBO in the Body
Presently, many experts are suggesting that SIBO is often just an issue in a person’s intestinal tract, but this is not the case. A fact that is currently absent from the trending SIBO information is that SIBO can be present in the body from the mouth all the way to the rectum. That means, SIBO can be found in your stomach, duodenum, small intestinal tract, large intestinal tract, and even the esophagus.
Many medical professionals wrongfully conclude that bacteria mostly proliferate in the intestinal tract because of the pervasive but inaccurate belief that there is no hydrochloric acid in this area. However, he or she may be skeptical that bacteria is able to create chaos in the stomach, which is where they believe the hydrochloric acid is. These ideas, which many medical professionals regard as truth, stem from the fact that much of the current information surrounding hydrochloric acid is inaccurate.
The Truth About Hydrochloric Acid
As I said, some professionals believe it is impossible to have bacteria in the stomach due to the presence of hydrochloric acid, which is supposed to break down and kill any bacteria that develops. However, this notion is faulty. Firstly, medical research and medical science still believe hydrochloric acid to be a single acidic solution. When in actuality, hydrochloric acid is a complex blend of seven acids— a critical piece of information I brought to light in my books Medical Medium and Life-Changing Foods. Medical communities are yet to become aware of this truth.
A doctor may tell you that you have strong hydrochloric acid or ample hydrochloric acid based off of tests he or she has run, but these tests are not taking into consideration all seven of the components that make up the hydrochloric acid blend, because medical research and medical science do not even realize that this blend exists! For this reason, certain components of the hydrochloric acid blend in your body may be low even if a test suggests otherwise.
Medical research and medical science are most familiar with one element of the seven elements that make up the blend. Consequently, if that element, along with three of the other elements that constitute part of the blend, are sufficiently present, then a test might indicate that you have adequate or even abundant hydrochloric acid even if the other three elements are severely depleted or completely absent. When just two or three of the components in the blend are low, bacteria will not die when it enters the stomach which opens someone up to the symptoms associated with SIBO and other gut health issues.
If you are a medical professional, you probably know that bacteria can move and travel throughout the body. But what you don’t know, because the information isn’t known, is that the bacteria can travel back up into the stomach from the intestinal tract and create issues. This is information I have shared here and in my books and radio shows so that you and your loved ones can understand the truth about bacteria and how they move around. If you are a medical or health professional, this is especially important to understand so you can better help your clients. This is true even if a test leads you to believe that you have high levels of hydrochloric acid in your stomach. For this reason, it is critical that you begin to truly build up your hydrochloric acid so that you can work to heal from SIBO or protect yourself and others from this condition and other gut health issues that arise when hydrochloric acid becomes deficient.
Some people who are told that they have ample hydrochloric acid still suffer from stomach ulcers. A likely reason for this is that one or more critical elements of their unknown blend of seven acids are no longer present. Bacteria, which creates these ulcers, can proliferate when powerful hydrochloric acid is not present to maintain harmony in the gut. Whether you are suffering from an ulcer or just wish to avoid developing one, building up the hydrochloric acid in your system is critical.
Certain scientific discoveries and technological advances in the realm of medicine have been amazing and life-changing for many, but these developments do not make up for that fact that simple, biological processes essential to our health and well-being are still not fully understood. Doctors and other healthcare professionals are compassionate, well intentioned, and truly this earth’s greatest blessing because of the many countless lives they save. But the lack of understanding and awareness, and the misinformation rampant in medical and alternative health communities, can sometimes lead people astray and they are either given the wrong diagnosis, incorrect information, the wrong medication or healing guidance, or no hope at all for healing. This has to be corrected for the sake of the millions of people suffering with illnesses and symptoms that medical and health communities don’t understand or know the truth about.
For example, medical science and medical research do not understand what happens to food once it enters your stomach. The mystery surrounding this part of the digestive process will not be discovered for many hundreds of years. One reason for this is the role God plays in this moment of the process. Instead of God, you may personally refer to a higher power, higher source, the universe, or the creator. Regardless of the wording that resonates with you, know that when food drops into your stomach, God is playing a part in the holy miracle that is digestion. Mysteries like this— that medical research and medical science have yet to discover— are the reason I work tirelessly to bring you the most accurate information available. Yes, medical science has a basic theoretical understanding of how enzymes, digestion and assimilation work, but what is known is feeble and crude compared to what really occurs. I am here to share the truth with you on as many mystery illnesses and symptoms as possible. SIBO is just one of them. You can learn about hundreds of others in my books Medical Medium and Thyroid Healing (which covers many conditions and illnesses that affect other areas, not just the thyroid), and in my hundreds of other radio shows and blog posts which you can find on my blog.
Building Up Your Hydrochloric Acid
Many doctors recommend using antibiotics to treat SIBO, but this tool often can serve to strengthen strep that’s already in the system over time. A major issue with strep is that it can quickly grow immune to antibiotics, and the frequent use of antibiotics can lead to an aggressive, mutated form. This has led to the emergence of a number of different varieties of streptococcus.
Decades ago, there were just two groups of strep with a small number of strains connected to each. Unfortunately, these groups of strep have grown more and more antibiotic resistant as time has progressed and now groups A and B have now turned into groups A through Z, and even surpassing the alphabet. Medical research and medical science currently are only aware of eight groups and they are unaware that there are many more. Not only is there more groups than A through Z, but each of these groups also contains a host of mutated strains offshooting from each group.
The frequent overuse of antibiotics has led to numerous antibiotic resistant strep strains. If you have gone to a doctor during the past forty years for anything from a cold, to an ear infection, to tonsillitis, to a host of other complaints, you were most likely prescribed antibiotics. If someone is given antibiotics throughout childhood and a true healing protocol is never implemented she or he is likely over time to develop a resistant strain of strep that can linger in the system into adulthood, causing acne, sinus problems, UTIs, pneumonia, and even appendicitis. There is a place for antibiotics in today’s world of medicine, such as in the case of critical conditions that are out of control. But the goal is to work on strengthening the immune system so you can try to avoid a severe medical emergency where antibiotics have to be used to at least stabilize the situation until natural methods can do deeper healing. It can be a vicious cycle or catch 22 for some people. The strep can grow immune to the antibiotics once more and health can once again worsen and become a critical emergency, for example, in the case of serious chronic urinary tract infections. and then antibiotics may need to be used again. This can trap someone in a very difficult cycle and this is what we are trying to avoid whenever possible.
Throughout the years, I have known many individuals suffering from severe UTIs, SIBO, acne and other strep-related health issues who used a mix of antibiotics in an attempt to pacify their symptoms and conditions. Sadly, antibiotics can only suppress symptoms for so long. Do not worry or fret if you’ve taken antibiotics in the past for strep-related issues. Fortunately, you are now learning the answers that can allow you to move forward and truly heal. One of the ways you can begin to knock down the strep in your system and heal from strep-related conditions like SIBO is by building up your hydrochloric acid.
When you build up your hydrochloric acid, you are not only helping kill off the bacteria in your stomach, but you are also killing off any bacteria that might be trying to get into your stomach. The reason for this is that hydrochloric acid works not only in the stomach, but also deep in the duodenum and small intestinal tract. This is another feature of hydrochloric acid that is completely unknown to medical research and medical science. The medical communities are still only looking at a small fraction of the blend of seven acids that make up the hydrochloric acid in your system. A handful of the six elements that have not yet been studied are in charge of working with your immune system to protect places other than the stomach, such as deep inside the small intestinal tract, where certain elements of the hydrochloric acid blend work to kill off bacteria. The numerous areas in your body where hydrochloric acid can provide powerful protection and support are just another reason why rebuilding hydrochloric acid is essential for vibrant health.
One simple, powerful way to build up hydrochloric acid in your body is to drink 16 oz of straight celery juice on an empty stomach each morning. When I was a child Spirit taught me this life-changing practice, so I spent a lifetime bringing this powerful tool to so many people who were looking for answers to their health issues. If you need motivation to start regularly juicing celery, check out the Medical Medium Instagram. Not only will you find people from all over the world extolling the impact celery juice has had on their healing journeys, but you will find an inspiring community of individuals seeking health and healing. I also share more about the powerful healing tool plain celery juice is in my books Medical Medium, Life-Changing Foods and Thyroid Healing.
Why is celery juice changing the lives of people around the world? Because the mineral salts found in celery help restore any missing elements in the blend of seven acids that together comprise your hydrochloric acid. These powerful mineral salts are actually poisonous to bacteria and once they restore your hydrochloric acid, the fortified blend of seven acids will be able to destroy SIBO, kill off any variety of strep, and enhance the immune system. This too is unknown to medical and alternative health communities.
Your immune system is constantly working to kill off viruses and bacteria, and it needs the support of specific mineral salts to do all it can for you. Certain cells in your immune system find enormous support from the mineral salts in celery. Similar mineral salts can be found in the stems of spinach. Once these mineral salts are gathered by your white blood cells, they are utilized to generate chemical compounds that work to rid the body of SIBO. It will be hundreds of years before medical science and medical research understand these phenomenal ways in which mineral salts assist the body. But now you know this truth I bring to you and you can move your healing process forward.
A celery’s mineral composition changes depending on where the celery is grown. When you buy celery from the store, you probably are unaware that your celery is coming from different farms at different times throughout the year. And, If you buy a celery juice while you’re out and about, the juice bar is likely to use celery harvested from a completely different farm than the celery found at your local grocery store. The reason I highlight this is because celery from different farms or different growing areas within a large farm can provide you with mineral salts that have slightly different compositions. The diversity of the mineral salts can be wonderfully supportive as you rebuild your hydrochloric acid. However, if you are only able to purchase celery from one small farm year-round, it will still provide you with ample benefits and support your healing efforts.
Redesigning Your Immune System
When you are working to overcome strep, not only is it important to rebuild your hydrochloric acid, but changing the structure of your immune system can be a powerful step forward as well. By restructuring the immune system, you are providing this system with the ability to create new chemical compounds. Because strep is not immune to these new chemical compounds, they are able to help destroy this bacteria and remove it from the body.
When your doctor or practitioner suggests that you are battling an overgrowth of bacteria, you may not be given all the essential information you need to take full control of you healing. A doctor who offers you an antibiotic for an ill-defined bacteria or an alternative practitioner who offers you herbs and suggests dietary changes, but isn’t able to expound on your illness with truth and exactitude are still not giving you the answers that you deserve to know. But this is still not a reason to avoid working with your doctor who is selflessly in the trenches every day providing you with support, compassion, and many other important medical resources and needs that benefit your health and wellbeing. SIBO and the underlying strep are certainly conquerable, but in order to overcome these issues, you must first know that these are the issues you are working to heal.
Once you know that your body is fighting off strep, you may be able to recall periods in the past where this very same bacterium gave rise to unpleasant symptoms or conditions. This information may bring to mind the strep throat you suffered from twenty years ago, the swollen tonsils you endured in your twenties, the miserable sinus infection you went through a while back, the severe cystic acne you battled as a teenager or adult, the styes that emerge every so often, or your most recent UTI. And, once you are able to fully identify what is going on in your system, you completely shift the trajectory of your healing process. If you are diagnosed with SIBO and you recognize that strep is wreaking havoc in your system, not only will you be able to connect the dots to other strep-related symptoms and conditions in your past, but you will be able to attack the underlying cause with a confidence and a precision you would not otherwise have.
As soon as you learn that streptococcus is behind SIBO, that understanding actually starts to break down the bacteria that’s wreaking havoc in your system. I cannot emphasize enough the transformative power of knowing what is truly wrong and knowing what you need to do to heal. This knowledge is life-changing! You may know that your thoughts affect your immune system, but this intensifies considerably once you know the exact culprit stirring up issues in your body. If you are suffering with SIBO, you now know that strep is in your system, and at the end of this article you will learn the foods and supplements you can take to knock down the bacteria and conquer this condition. In this moment, thanks to your newfound knowledge, you are actually redesigning your immune system to better go after the bug. Knowledge really is power and when you also know what to do with that knowledge to heal, you have the full equation for healing!
An identification process occurs where killer cells in our body are able to fully connect to the pathogen that’s triggering our symptoms or condition. Our immune system has the ability to modify and adjust, redirect itself, and absorb new information through frequencies of thought, but these attributes are just the beginning. Your immune system is also able to restructure chemical compounds— a fact that medical research and medical science will not stumble upon for three or more decades. Lymphocytes, a subset of the immune system’s white blood cells, use the healing information you learn and acknowledge as truth to create a new chemical compound that matches this understanding about what’s happening inside your body. This development allows your immune system to go after bugs that were once unaffected by its protective efforts.
Over the years, I’ve met some people who don’t want to know the information that can help them to truly heal. They would prefer to go their doctors, take the medication their doctors prescribe, temporarily alleviate their issues, and move on with their lives until a symptom worsens or another issue arises. Although this is an option people can choose to take, learning the information that can bring about genuine healing can be a life-changing gift. If the path towards healing feels overwhelming, know that you can take it one step at a time, one change at a time, and one day at a time. Shifting your diet and lifestyle choices can be a challenge so it is important to extend grace to yourself as you move through these changes.
Throughout this process, never forget this essentia truth— your body loves you and desperately wants you to heal and is doing everything it can to make that happen even before you stumble upon the answers and information that you need. The knowledge that your body is always working for you is incredibly powerful, and once you learn the true cause behind your health issues and the steps you can take to restore your body, your capacity to heal reaches an entirely new level.
I’ve discussed the developing fear around fruit and the misconceptions that feed this growing aversion in my first book, Medical Medium, and in the “Healing Power of Fruit" radio show. Unfortunately, this damaging trend continues to advance. Often people are incorrectly advised to avoid fruit if they are trying to rid their bodies of yeast, mold, and bacteria, or heal from symptoms and conditions such as Candida and SIBO. Sadly, this inaccurate advice can lead people to develop a severe fear of fruits— foods that are actually critical for genuine healing.
You may feel better if you replace your diet, high in processed foods, with lean protein, ample veggies, and no fruit, which is a common choice today, but the reason for this is that the foods you are now choosing to eat are far more clean than the highly processed options you had previously been consuming. However, if you begin to include fruit in your diet, even more healing can take place. You need fruit to truly thrive physically, and if you do not include fruit in your diet or work towards including more of it over time, your health will eventually falter. I’ve seen this happen to numerous people throughout my life. Some meat eaters avoid fruit and stick to lean animal protein and vegetables. Some vegans and vegetarians avoid fruit and stick to grains, vegetables and processed plant-based proteins or protein options, like soy products and protein powders. With either diet, these individuals are missing out on the countless life-giving benefits found in fruit.
Some people don’t feel the best when they start consuming fruit. They may complain that they are experiencing detox symptoms. The reason for this is that they probably are experiencing noticeable detox. Fruit is highly detoxifying and helps to rid our bodies of toxins that build up. Acids naturally found in fruit actually dissolve bacteria. This is one significant reason to consume fruit if you are trying to heal SIBO because the bacteria causing SIBO is destroyed by fruit acids.
Do not let books and articles citing biased information impact whether or not you nourish your body with some delicious ripe speckled bananas, figs, cherries, mangos, watermelon, and other healing fruits. Bananas can suffocate bacteria and draw it out of the body. They can be a particularly powerful support for someone who is working to overcome SIBO. As you move forward in your healing journey, try to release any fears you may have around fruits and embrace these powerful foods for the many gifts they can offer you! To learn more about the miraculous physical, emotional, and spiritual healing properties of different fruits, along with different leafy greens, vegetables, herbs, spices, and wild foods, check out my book Life-Changing Foods.
Bringing some simple herbs into your diet can help rid your body of SIBO and destroy the underlying strep. Some particularly powerful herbs to incorporate include rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano, parsley, and cilantro. Sprinkle some fresh thyme or sage onto whatever cooked or raw dishes you whip up. Powerful additions such as these can help protect you from having to turn to antibiotics for a bacteria-related health issue in the future. Regularly sipping on a mug of thyme tea can be beneficial as well. Oregano, either fresh or in capsule form, is a tremendous weapon against SIBO. The mineral salts in parsley are just one of the many reasons this herb is a wonderful addition to any diet. Juicing parsley and combining it with a celery juice base can be a fantastic drink for helping knock down SIBO. Cilantro is not only great at drawing heavy metals out of the body, but it works to destroy SIBO as well. You can easily bring a few of these herbs into one dish by adding thyme, rosemary, and sage into a tasty guacamole, hummus, salsa, or another kind of dip. However you choose to incorporate these herbs into your diet, know that you are helping to fight off SIBO and strep each time you do.
Bringing certain supplements into your daily routine alongside the fruits, leafy greens, vegetables, and herbs you choose to eat can be a wonderful addition to your healing protocol. Pau d’arco in tincture form is a fantastic herb to include. Hyssop tea, hibiscus tea, and elderberry tea are three wonderful drink options that contain powerful anti-SIBO properties. Some of these supplement recommendations act similarly to celery juice in the body. Like celery juice, they support the immune system in its efforts to create the chemical compounds that kill off SIBO. A daily dose of olive leaf can be a fantastic addition. You can find recommendations for both a tincture and capsule form on my preferred supplements page. Vitamin C, which can be an incredibly supportive supplement for a number of symptoms and conditions, can bolster your immune system so that it has the fortitude to keep strep from wreaking havoc and triggering issues such as UTIs, styes, pelvic inflammatory problems, cystic acne, and sinus problems. Two supplements that I frequently recommend— a high-quality liquid zinc and B-12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin— are both important additions for anyone with SIBO. For more supplement suggestions to help address SIBO, check out my “Streptococcus Revealed” radio show and blog post.
Things to Avoid
If you suffer from SIBO, it is critical that you avoid chocolate until you have cleared the strep out of your system and are fully healed. If you do not have SIBO, strep, or other health problems you are working to heal and you absolutely love chocolate, then you might be able to include the occasional chocolate treat without experiencing issues. However, if you have been given a SIBO diagnosis, it is best to avoid chocolate for the time being. If you have SIBO, but adore chocolate and don’t see yourself giving up this treat, try to reduce your intake until you heal and choose a cleaner option without dairy or processed sugars or make your own at home with clean ingredients. I include a chocolate pomegranate bark recipe in my book Life-Changing Foods to provide chocolate lovers with a safer and cleaner option to enjoy sparingly if they really desire it. Chocolate cravings typically stem from a need for more calories and more glucose so increasing how much fruit you eat daily is very important. It can also be part of an addiction to the adrenaline that rushes when someone consumes chocolate or thinks about or gets near to chocolate if they are addicted to it. You can learn more about addictions and how this works in my radio shows and articles where I share brand new information that is not known by any medical, health, or psychology communities. You can find Part 1 here and Part 2 on my blog.
If you are suffering with SIBO, this new information may be simultaneously surprising, exciting, and overwhelming. Fortunately, you can always return to this article and the other resources I provide to remind yourself of the truth and reignite your desire to seek genuine healing. Simply by reading this article, you have already started redesigning your immune system! Continuing to fill your mind with the truth will only serve to strengthen this life-enhancing development.
An additional step you can take is beginning to rebuild the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. To do this, try bringing straight celery juice into your morning routine on an empty stomach. Perhaps you start off juicing three times a week and continue to increase the number of mornings you juice as you grow more comfortable with the practice. I’m am proud of you for every single step you take towards healing, no matter how small it seems. Celebrate every victory— even purchasing a head of celery with the intention of making juice is a win! Restoring your body takes time, patience, and persistence, but with accurate information and the proper tools you are fully equipped to heal.

If you feel out of touch with miracles, then reacquaint yourself with honey. Unprocessed honey in its raw, living form is nothing less than a miracle from God and the earth. Honey has saved human life during drastic times of starvation, and it will become critical again in the future as a food for our survival. You don’t need to be in dire circumstances to benefit from honey, though. Take a moment to think about what this wild food really is: nectar. It is liquid gold that can turn your life around.
For those who are afraid that honey is just pure sugar and therefore should be avoided, put your worry aside. If you turn your back on honey, you’re missing out on its amazing health benefits. The sugar in honey is nothing like processed sugar—don’t confuse it with table sugar or high-fructose corn syrup. Rather, because bees collect from plant species far and wide, the fructose and glucose in honey are saturated with more than 200,000 undiscovered phytochemical compounds and agents, including pathogen-killers, phytochemicals that protect you from radiation damage, and anti cancerous phytochemicals. When drawn into cancerous tumors and cysts, this last class of phytochemicals shut down the cancerous growth process— meaning that raw honey can stop cancer in its tracks.
Honey’s highly absorbable sugar and B12 coenzymes make it one of the most powerful brain foods of our time. Plus, raw honey repairs DNA and is extremely high in minerals such as calcium, potassium, zinc, selenium, phosphorus, chromium, molybdenum, and manganese. Our immune systems are constantly adapting to whatever microorganisms we encounter—which is why raw honey, one of the most adaptogenic foods on the planet, produced by bees, one of the most adaptogenic beings on the planet, is so important for supporting immunity. Honey in its raw form is a secret weapon against infectious illness.
When you’re dealing with weakened immunity and feel like you’re extra susceptible to catching colds, flus, stomach bugs such as norovirus, and food poisoning, raw honey assists your body in keeping a strong first line of defense by strengthening neutrophils and macrophages so they can fight off pathogens. (It’s not yet documented by medical science that these and other white blood cells feed off of immune-stimulating phytochemicals.) These properties also make raw honey anti-inflammatory—because it inhibits pathogens from procreating and thus releasing toxins that elevate inflammation. Honey is truly medicine for our planet.
If you have any of the following conditions, try bringing raw honey into your life:
Sinus infections, ear infections, diabetes, hypoglycemia, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), allergies, sties, eye infections, MRSA, staph infections, mystery infertility, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), low reproductive system battery, insomnia, adrenal fatigue, colds, influenza, norovirus, all types of cancer, bipolor disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, all autoimmune diseases and disorders, parasites, food poisoning, respiratory infections, colds, influenza, bronchitis, laryngitis, thrush
If you have any of the following symptoms, try bringing raw honey into your life:
Sore throat, postnasal drip, inflammation, canker sores, sleep disturbances, bacterial infections in the gut, all neurological symptoms (including tingles, numbness, spasms, twitches, nerve pain, and tightness of the chest), body odor, dry skin, cysts, eye dryness, dizzy spells, earaches, ear pain, eye floaters, fever, headaches, hot flashes, joint pain, lack of energy, loss of libido, fatigue, memory issues, memory loss, sinus issues, shortness of breath, stomachaches
Honey’s sticky nature isn’t just a physical trait; it also applies itself on an emotional level. If honey is in your life, then when you experience something good—something that lifts you up and feeds your soul—that memory sticks to you, and you don’t lose it among the negative experiences that threaten to distract you.
If you could trace your family lines back to their oldest days, you would find ancestors who subsisted on honey. Raw honey was not a survival food in the sense that it simply got people by until something better came along. Rather, it was (and still is) incredible medicinal nourishment. Honey is written into our lineage. Who we are—our souls, our DNA—in a sense derives from honey. This means that if we avoid honey, we’re shutting off a part of ourselves that connects all the way back to the beginning of human life. Trends that cut us off from honey go to show how disconnected we can really become. Connecting with honey puts us back in touch with ourselves. It prompts us to ask what else we’ve turned a cold shoulder to that made us who we are today. What else deserves reevaluation?
* Add raw honey to lemon water to enhance the honey’s bioflavonoids and give the drink an additional immune boost.
* If you feel like you’re coming down with something, take a teaspoon of raw honey before bed. This is also a good remedy to enhance a night’s sleep.
* Use raw honey in place of all processed sugar and other sweeteners you normally use. Look for wildflower honey, if you can find it.
* Applied externally, honey is great for healing small wounds and revitalizing the skin. Try it on scars where you want to speed up the healing process.
* Consuming honey prior to meditation strengthens the mind and brings about happy sensations throughout the body.
HONEY-COCONUT ICE CREAM
Fair warning: This ice cream recipe is dangerously good. It only takes a few minutes to prep with an ice cream maker, and in under an hour, you can have ice cream that is cleaner and way more delicious than anything available in the store. As a bonus, you’ll have some leftover almond milk that you can use in smoothies or enjoy cold from the fridge.
1 cup almonds
2 dates, pitted
1/4 inch vanilla bean, split lengthwise
1 1/2 cups coconut cream (from approximately 2 13.5-ounce cans of refrigerated full-fat coconut milk)
1⁄8 tsp sea salt
1⁄8 cup raw honey
1/4 cup chopped almonds (optional)
First, make the almond milk by blending the almonds, dates, and scraped seeds from the vanilla bean with 2 cups of water until smooth. Strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or cloth and set aside. Then, open the cans of coconut milk, being careful not to shake them. Separate off the heavy cream from each can. (See the Berries and Cream recipe for guidance.) In a medium bowl, mix the coconut cream with 1 cup of almond milk, sea salt, and raw honey until combined. Pour into the bowl of an ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer’s instructions.* Serve the ice cream topped with chopped almonds, if desired, and a drizzle of raw honey.
*Without an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture in a bowl and stir every 30 minutes until set.
Makes 2 to 4 servings

Do you suffer with cystic acne? If so, you’ve probably tried a number of topical ointments, creams, scrubs, and other products to try and free yourself from this frustrating condition. It’s often considered normal to be plagued by pimples as a teenager, but many continue to battle this symptom well into adulthood. In both times of life, there is a reason behind the acne, and it’s not just hormones. Why are countless men and women affected by this frustrating skin issue? Like so many other chronic mystery symptoms and conditions, medical science and medical research have yet to figure out the answer. I revealed the underlying cause of cystic acne decades ago and have been able to help people rid themselves of this troubling and painful symptom. Hopefully the truths you learn here will keep you from being mislead by the misinformation found in books, on the internet, and in health-related television shows.
If you do not suffer from acne, you may not realize the frustration and pain this symptom can cause. Many of us live in cultures where a great deal of importance is placed on appearance for both men and women. It makes sense that a person would not only want to feel good, but would want clear skin as well. Especially as a teenager, there is a significant amount of pressure to look a certain way, and suffering from acne can lead someone to experience bullying, isolation, and other social problems. And, as an adult these same appearance-based pressures may still be present. Fortunately, there are numerous things you can bring into your diet and daily routine to help permanently clear up your cystic acne and I’ll share them with you below. First, let’s talk about the real underlying cause of acne.
Have you ever known someone who rarely washes his or her face, never uses creams or facial scrubs, and yet always seems to have clear, acne-free skin? There are actually people who may go months at a time without washing their face or hair and will not even get one clogged pore. Every once in awhile someone may get some clogged pores that result in a very mild case of acne, but this naturally occurring acne is rare. If you suffer from more than just the occasional clogged pore, there is most likely an underlying issue behind your acne. Regardless of whether someone suffers from a regular amount of acne that seems somewhat manageable, borderline cystic acne, or cystic acne, the underlying issue is the same and needs to be addressed for true healing to take place.
There are two prevalent misconceptions surrounding acne. First off, many acne sufferers are told that their bodies are overproducing sebum and dead skin cells, which can lead to clogged pores. Certain medical professionals suggest that if bacteria from the skin’s surface gets into these clogged pores, these areas will grow infected and inflamed. This is inaccurate. Acne is not made up of the naturally occurring oils in your body and these oils in no way lead to cystic acne.
A second acne misconception is that this symptom is hormonal. Oftentimes women are told that that their hormones are responsible for their acne. This is also incorrect information. Acne may be worse during puberty or during a woman’s menstrual cycle each month, but hormones are not the reason for the appearance or increase in acne during these specific times.
Many medical professionals blame acne issues on hormones. This seems like a likely culprit because acne tends to worsen for many women during puberty and during certain times in the menstrual cycle. Some women, who may not have even suffered from acne as a teenager, may begin to struggle with acne later on in life around their menstruation each month. Medical communities are unaware that during a woman's menstrual cycle, 80% of the immune system is redirected towards assisting the reproductive system. That means that only 20% of the immune system is left to support any other health issues your body may be working to heal. As a result, if you normally suffer from migraine headaches, eczema, fatigue, aches and pains, brain fog, depression, joint pain, or any other symptom or condition, during your cycle it may reappear or worsen. This is of course true for acne too. During this time a woman’s lymphocytes lower and a wave of acne is more likely to arise. Next time pimples pop up during menstruation, recognize that it is not your hormones. There is another underlying cause that was already present and the shift in the focus of your immune system is affecting the severity of your breakout.
Acne & Antibiotics
If you have suffered with cystic acne, there is a likely chance that your doctor or dermatologist has recommended antibiotics. One reason for this maybe due to the fact that antibiotics have been recommended for virtually every health issue over the years. A second reason is that antibiotics, when they were first used to treat severe cystic acne decades ago, actually seemed to help the patients' skin clear. At this point, doctors did not know exactly why the antibiotics helped improve someone’s acne symptoms, but they did take note of the improvement that people seemed to be experiencing. This supposed cure medical doctors stumbled upon ignited the trend of using antibiotics to treat acne, and throughout the decades a variety of antibiotics, some more dangerous than others, have been created and heavily promoted for people suffering with all different severities of acne.
You maybe wondering why antibiotics seemed to help reduce acne decades ago. The reason is because acne and cystic acne are related to streptococcus and are bacterial in nature. However, that doesn’t mean that antibiotics are a real cure for acne or that they truly heal the root cause of the problem. This is obvious from the many people who still suffer with acne after taking many rounds of antibiotics.
Medical communities aren’t aware that streptococcus is the cause a number of health issues including UTIs, pneumonia, SIBO, yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, migraines, styes, and sinus problems and it contributes to countless other health problems along with other factors. Along with these symptoms and conditions, cystic acne may also arise. Even if you do not have any other streptococcus-related symptoms and feel fairly healthy overall, you may still have chronic, low-grade streptococcus sitting in different areas of your lymphatic system stirring up acne issues. If you suffered from strep throat as a child, it is likely you will notice acne arise as a teenager or adult. It may not be a severe case and may only appear every so often depending on the severity of strep in your system. if you frequently suffered from bronchitis or pneumonia as a child, you may end up battling severe acne later in life as well. Other health issues as a child that may be a sign for acne later in life include tonsillitis and/or frequent styes. Medical science and research aren’t aware that streptococcus is the cause or a factor in any of the conditions.
When streptococcus is in your body it can move from the liver to your lymphatic system. Your body maybe able to keep the strep under control for the most part, but there might be times where the strep reaches the derma and works underneath it, which can lead to cystic acne. For this reason, if you continuously run yourself down by making unproductive food choices, leading a stressful lifestyle, and infrequently implementing supportive self-care practices, your immune system will have a difficult time managing any chronic strep in the lymphatic system. Because of this, the strep is more likely to push through to the surface of the derma. Lymphatic channels are all over the body and consequently acne may arise in a number of places. You may notice acne appear on your chest, shoulders, neck, face, head (top, back, sides or crown), hairline, breasts, armpits, legs, groin, and/or underneath and around the butt. If you suffer from both acne and eczema, you may not only have strep, but a heavy viral load in your liver as well. The true cause of eczema is a complete mystery to medical communities. I released a radio show and blog post to reveal what’s really causing this challenging condition.
It is challenging to truly eliminate strep bacteria. Lymphocytes, which play the biggest role in managing and lowering strep in the system, need a sufficient amount of zinc and supportive foods to best control and fight back against strep. Without proper fuel, the lymphocytes will not be able to prevent strep from reaching the derma.
Doctors are prescribing antibiotics for some of their patients who suffer from cystic acne. What these doctors don’t realize is that their patients’ cystic acne is due to antibiotic resistant strep building up and creating scar tissue underneath the derma. In these instances, the body creates pus-filled cysts above the derma in an attempt to fight against the bacteria while lymphocytes underneath the derma are trying to hunt down rogue strep bacteria.
Decades ago, there were just two groups of strep with a small number of strains connected to each. Medical research and medical science had no idea that the reason cystic acne was improving when antibiotics were administered back in the day was because these antibiotics were able to knock down the basic strains of strep people had in their systems at the time. Unfortunately, these groups of strep have grown more and more antibiotic resistant as time has progressed and now groups A and B have now turned into groups A through Z. Medical research and medical science may only have a certain number of groups recorded, but in reality there are groups A through Z which all contain a host of mutated strains offshooting from each group.
Although antibiotics were useful for cystic acne sufferers in the past, that is not always the case now. The frequent overuse of antibiotics has led to numerous antibiotic resistant strep strains. If you have gone to a doctor during the past forty years for anything from a cold, to an ear infection, to tonsillitis, to a host of other complaints, you were most likely prescribed antibiotics. If someone is given antibiotics throughout childhood and a true healing protocol is never implemented she or he is likely to develop a resistant strain of strep that can linger in the system into adulthood. The strep can grow immune to the antibiotics once more and health can once again worsen and become a critical emergency, and then antibiotics may need to be used again. This can trap someone in a very difficult cycle and this is what we are trying to avoid whenever possible.
Strep strains can also be picked up on doorknobs, on toilet seats, and in restaurants, which I discuss in my radio show about Food Poisoning. If you’re using the restroom at a restaurant or in another public area, I would recommend flushing the toilet prior to using it, even if the water looks clean, and placing paper on the seat as well. Little tricks like this can help protect you from picking up an unwanted variety of strep. You can also wipe your hands with handi-wipes when out of the house after touching public surfaces or doorknobs. The person can pass this strain onto partners through sexual contact or strengthen the strains they already have through antibiotic use.
This information is not meant to make you more fearful of things in this world. Rather, I hope it can bring you a sense of empowered awareness. If you do happen to pick up a strain of strep, or are battling chronic strep from childhood, know that you can build up your immune system, fight off this bacteria, clear up any acne or any other condition mentioned in this article that is caused by strep, and move forward.
If you have cystic acne, you also have strep lurking somewhere deep in your system. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help fight off this strep and start to heal the external symptom of this internal bacteria.
You’ve probably tried a number of topical creams, ointments, and maybe even antibiotics in an attempt to heal your acne. The reason antibiotics are unlikely to work is because once you ingest antibiotics, they usually sit in your liver and can feed low-levels of strep. This is true even if your cystic acne seems to improve for a period of time. Doctors may prescribe antibiotics to a cystic acne sufferer for six or nine months, up to as long as two to three years. These low levels of different antibiotics may help keep acne at bay for a period, but internally the problems is not truly being resolved and strep, the source of the cystic acne, may actually be growing stronger due to the antibiotic use. If you want to truly heal acne and eliminate the underlying cause, your best option is using natural antibacterials.
Garlic is an incredible food for killing strep. Onion can kill both strep and H. pylori. The reason I mention H. pylori is because people with certain strains of strep usually have H. pylori as well. Greens such as mâche, spinach, kale, chard, butter leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, and green leaf lettuce work to help kill strep in the system over time. Regardless of the diet you choose to follow, make sure you are consuming an abundant mix of leafy greens. All greens possess an incredible assortment of medicinal qualities, which can’t be quantified, measured, or weighed by science. Cherries and all other berries contain antibacterial properties that help fight against strep. Bananas are a fantastic food to combat strep as well. Wild blueberries work to breakdown strep and heal other strep-related issues including SIBO, UTIs, pneumonia, styes, migraines, bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, or sinus problems. All herbs have antibacterial properties as well. Some herbs are more antibacterial than others, but all herbs can offer at least some value. Peppermint, oregano, thyme, sage, ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon are just some of the many herbs and spices you may want to incorporate into your diet as you work to eliminate strep. Other foods to bring into your diet while you fight off strep include cucumbers, tomatoes, red bell peppers, winter squash, sweet potatoes and other tuberous roots.
The more fresh fruits and vegetables you incorporate into your diet, the more fuel you will have to lower the levels of strep in your liver and lymphatic system.
Foods To Avoid
Some foods are incredible for fighting against strep, but other foods actually feed the bacteria. Making sure to avoid the foods that feed pathogens is critical if you are working to lower the strep in your system. Fortunately, I can share with you here which foods support healing and which ones may be detrimental to your healing. Here are a few of the most important foods to avoid while healing cystic acne:
Eggs: Eggs feed all different bugs, including streptococcus. This is the number one food to avoid if you are trying to knock down strep in your system. Streptococcus not only loves eating eggs, but when you eat eggs, your lymphatic system fills with mucus and is forced to try and clear this mucus out. If you put raw egg in a petri dish with any strain of streptococcus and observe it under a microscope, you will see a complete feeding frenzy take place. Sadly, this information is never discussed and mostly unknown so people suffering with chronic illness continue to endure the consequences of eating eggs. Even eggs from your own hens or your neighbor’s hen are best avoided while you work to heal cystic acne.
Gluten: You can easily find negative information about gluten with a quick internet search, but not all the information maybe accurate. The reason to avoid gluten when you have cystic acne is because gluten feeds strep. I brought this information to light for the first time and it is now circulating in various communities. It’s important that it continues to spread. Streptococcus doesn’t love gluten quite as much as it loves eggs, but it can still feed off this food and cause issues. Avoiding all products that contain gluten can be challenging, but it is worth it if you are working to heal your acne. Fortunately, more and more gluten-free options continue to appear each year.
Dairy Products: If you have strep in your system, avoiding dairy products such as cow’s milk, goat’s milk, cheese, butter, ghee, kefir, and yogurt for an extended period of time can be highly beneficial and even essential. The reason you have to eliminate these foods for a lengthy period of time is because strep can take a while to clear out of the system. If you’ve eaten dairy products up until now, it is likely you have deposits of various dairy products in your liver and other parts of your body. As you heal strep and eliminate unproductive food choices, the strep will start to look for old deposits of dairy products that can be found in crevices of the intestinal tract and elsewhere in the body. Overtime, with enough healing foods and a proper supplement protocol, you can clear out these old, damaging deposits as well, and further knock down the strep in your system.
Canola Oil: Try avoiding canola oil whenever possible as it also feeds strep and it’s highly inflammatory.
Corn Products: Corn, in any amount, can feed strep in your system. Avoid corn and corn products while healing your cystic acne.
You can read more about these foods and why it’s so important to avoid them for acne and all other health symptoms and conditions in my books Medical Medium, Life-Changing Foods and Thyroid Healing.
By eliminating these foods, you stop supplying the strep in your system with the fuel it needs to cause havoc in the lymphatic system and move through to the surface of the derma where cystic acne arises. It usually takes some time for acne to completely clear, but taking out these unproductive foods and bringing in more healing foods and supplements can make a major difference. Have patience and move forward with the knowledge that you are fighting off the true underlying cause of your acne.
Healing Supplements & Teas
Immune system support is critical as you battle strep. A high-quality zinc, high-quality vitamin C, and lemon balm are all fantastic immune system supporters. Ample vitamin C is essential for strengthening the immune system and maintaining adequate zinc reserves is crucial as well. Lemon balm can kill off strep, lower Epstein-Barr, and rebuild the immune system. This antiviral and antibacterial powerhouse is an incredible weapon for cystic acne sufferers. You can use a tincture, or make lemon balm tea and drink it throughout the day.
Selenium can help repair tissue that’s been damaged by strep. Goldenseal is a powerful herb that is most beneficial when used with breaks in-between. Without breaks, this supplement may stop offering as powerful of support, but strep will not grow resistant to goldenseal if adequate breaks are allowed between use. Work with a doctor or practitioner to figure out a healthy dosage you can try for two weeks at a time with two week breaks in between.
Licorice root and oregano oil are two other supplements that can be beneficial. Because every herb is antibacterial, bringing in some simple herbal teas can be miraculous. A daily cup of chamomile or peppermint can help as you fight to lower the strep in your system. If you want to see the supplements I recommend, check out the Medical Medium Preferred Supplements page.
You can also find more of the important supplements and herbs for strep in my radio show and article Streptococcus Revealed. Don't miss this extra information as it's a critical part of the healing picture.
If you are currently on an antibiotic to help control your cystic acne and want to change your protocol, it is important that you work with an understanding doctor or practitioner who can help you safely transition to a new protocol. Strep has never built up a resistance towards any fruit, vegetable, herb, or spice, so bringing these in can have a powerful impact against this bug. With the correct foods and supplements, you have the power to build up your immune system, kill off any strep or other havoc-wreaking bugs, and live your life free from cystic acne.
If you tried to clear up your cystic acne in the past by incorporating fresh fruits and veggies, but did not see much improvement, try bringing even more fruits and vegetables into your diet, and start being mindful of the other foods you consume. If you are an avid meat eater, try to lower the amount of meat you consume, so that you have more room to fill your diet with ample amounts of the bacteria-fighting fruits, leafy greens and veggies listed above. If you are a vegetarian, try to keep the amount of cheese and dairy you consume as minimal as possible or remove it entirely while you’re healing and bring in ample fruits, leafy greens and vegetables. If you are plant-based, make sure your diet is not too grain, nut, or seed heavy, so that fruits, leafy greens and veggies can take center stage. Don’t allow unproductive foods to fill up your stomach and intestinal tract. Make space for the highly productive, disease fighting foods that give you a chance to live a healthy, vibrant life.
You may have heard the saying, “without your health what do you have?”. Although some people believe that without your health, you have nothing, I do not support this idea. I believe that if you are struggling with health issues, and do not feel like you are thriving, you still have the opportunity to get your health back, and you are also so much more than your health. Besides this opportunity to reclaim your health and vitality, you also have your wonderful soul, your loving heart, good intentions, compassion, and love. Hold on to all these things you do have as you seize your opportunity to truly heal.
While working to heal your cystic acne, take one day at a time and do not lose hope. Healing strep may take patience and persistence, but with the right healing protocol in place know that you are on the way to embracing a life free of acne. GIve yourself plenty of time to heal and have faith. I hope that this information not only empowers you, but is the start of helping you become an expert about a host of chronic mystery symptoms and conditions. As you bring more and more pieces of the protocol into your life, know that you are healing more than just your cystic acne. The healing suggestions laid out in this article can transform your health in countless ways and leave you thriving more than you ever have before!

Historically, people who lived in northern climates became extremely deficient in vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium during the winter. That’s because all they had to eat after a certain point in the year were dairy, eggs, grains, and some meat—with a paltry amount of vegetables remaining and even less fruit. Before truck deliveries of produce became a mainstay of modern life, townspeople would crowd around trains that were rumored to carry the rare crate of oranges from a southern land—although when citrus was on board, most of it would go to wealthy families and town selectmen. If a stray orange did get into the hands of a less fortunate townsperson, it would be worth its weight in gold. That’s because people of the time valued oranges for what they were: miracle fruits. Today, oranges have lost their luster in the public eye.
Now people worry about citrus allergies, and dentists warn that the acid is bad for tooth enamel. Don’t get caught up in the orange outrage. The truth is that oranges (and their cousins, tangerines) are full of the coenzyme glutathione, which goes into activation because of their high content of flavonoids and limonoids. This is a relationship medical research has not yet tapped into, and one that makes oranges and tangerines a key to healing the 21st century epidemic of chronic illness. Together, glutathione, flavonoids, and limonoids fight off viruses, protect the body from radiation damage, and deactivate toxic heavy metals in the system. Oranges and tangerines are also abundant in a form of bioactive calcium you can’t get anywhere else. The body instantly absorbs this calcium, which means that these citrus beauties actually help regrow teeth, not destroy them. Their acid content is not destructive; rather, it works for you by dissolving kidney stones and gallstones.
It’s time to reconnect to that period when we appreciated oranges’ and tangerines’ true value. These citrus fruits are life giving, and they should be a foundation in the diet. The next time you walk by a navel, blood orange, Valencia, mandarin, honey Murcott, clementine, or Minneola tangelo, think about what it might have meant to an ancestor in the early1900s and rejoice that progress has given you the opportunity to bring its sweet nectar into your life.
If you have any of the following conditions, try bringing oranges and/or tangerines into your life:
Gum disease; kidney stones; strep throat; gallstones; osteoporosis; diabetes; hypoglycemia; mold exposure; adrenal fatigue; mystery infertility; posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); anxiety; depression; urinary tract infections (UTIs); arteriosclerosis; stomach and intestinal cancers; acne; hypertension; low reproductive system battery; HHV-6; cytomegalovirus (CMV); shingles; HHV-7; the undiscovered HHV-10, HHV-11, and HHV-12; chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS); fibromyalgia; multiple sclerosis (MS); lupus; Graves’ disease; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS); vertigo; lymphoma (including non-Hodgkin’s); Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)/mononucleosis; Hashimoto’s thyroiditis; human papilloma virus (HPV); Huntington’s disease; herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1); herpes simplex 2 (HSV-2); bursitis; carpal tunnel syndrome; tendonitis; colds; nodules
If you have any of the following symptoms, try bringing oranges and/or tangerines into your life:
Constipation, fatigue, roving aches and pains, blurry eyes, acid reflux, tingles and numbness, weakness, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), gastritis, listlessness, melancholy, mood swings, nervousness, jaw pain, water retention, food allergies, skin discolorations, hormonal imbalances, blood sugar issues, ringing or buzzing in the ears, sensations of humming or vibration in the body, back pain, backache, body aches, body stiffness, bruising, cold sores, dehydration, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, ear pain, hot flashes, loss of energy, tremors, sore throat, hyperthyroid, hypothyroid
The juice of an orange or tangerine is like liquid sunshine. If you often feel sad, weepy, glum, or down, oranges cut through the gloom and shine a light on your life. They are the perfect food to eat when you feel sun deprived and lonely, as though there’s an empty void that needs to be filled. Oranges take out all the chill and fill you with warmth instead.
Oranges and tangerines remind us that we sometimes overlook the most important ingredients in our lives. Every now and then, we have to think about what we push aside or forsake and reevaluate whether all of it deserved to be devalued. In the case of these fruits, you may drink only the occasional orange juice (and feel guilty when you do), snack on a clementine once a year, or try an infrequent spread of orange marmalade on toast—whereas oranges and tangerines should rightfully be a centerpiece in your diet. As you make them a bigger part of your life, look around. What else is worthy of a second glance?
* For optimum realization of the benefits of oranges and tangerines, consume four per day.
* As a snack, drizzle raw honey over slices of orange or tangerine. The honey will increase the citrus pectin’s ability to kill off and eliminate mold, yeast, viruses, and unproductive bacteria in the gut by 50 percent.
* For a predigestive aid, try adding a squeeze of fresh orange or tangerine juice over your favorite salads and dishes. It will help ensure that you digest your meal at the best level possible.

Was there ever a time, maybe in your childhood, when you got in trouble for someone else’s mischief—when you were judged as guilty by association? Then you understand the plight of the potato. Potatoes have gotten a bad rap for far too long. As victims of the war on foods mistakenly categorized as “disease-producing,” potatoes have been blamed for ills they never caused. Potatoes are wrongly accused of contributing to obesity, diabetes, cancer, Candida overgrowth, and many other conditions, while in truth these miraculous tubers can reverse these illnesses. That’s right! Potatoes are actually good for people with diabetes, because they help stabilize blood sugar.
One common misconception is that potatoes are poisonous because they’re nightshades. Potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, and other edible nightshades do not aggravate conditions such as arthritis; you can put aside the worry that potatoes are inflammatory. (For more on this, see the chapter “Harmful Health Fads and Trends.”) Truth is, the toxic oil that potatoes are fried in, the cheese sauce ladled on top, and the butter, milk, and cream mashed in are what have the world convinced that potatoes are bad for us. The frying process and the highfat/high-sugar content of dairy products are the real instigators of insulin resistance and A1C levels that reach the diabetic zone. This combination of fat plus lactose also feeds every type of cancer. Potatoes don’t cause health issues; the other ingredients served with them do. We should also be careful not to lump potatoes in with the fear of grains and processed foods.
If you’re avoiding “white” foods such as white rice, white flour, white sugar, and dairy products (such as milk, cheese, yogurt, and cream), don’t cut out potatoes! After all, a potato in its whole, natural state isn’t white—it’s covered in nutrient-rich red, brown, gold, blue, or purple skin. This skin of the potato is one of the best nutrition sources on the planet—it’s a miracle of amino acids, proteins, and phytochemicals. Only once you cut into a potato might you see a white interior—which doesn’t mean it’s lacking in value. After all, we don’t think of apples, onions, or radishes as white and therefore useless, even though when you cut into them, they’re devoid of color. And a cultivated blueberry is colorless inside (whereas wild blueberries are saturated with color inside and out); this doesn’t mean it shows up on white food lists. Instead, we picture these foods in their whole forms, which is exactly how we need to start thinking of potatoes.
The entire potato, inside and out, is valuable and beneficial for your health: potato plants draw some of the highest concentration of macro and trace minerals from the earth. Potatoes are also high in potassium and rich in vitamin B6, as well as a fantastic source of amino acids, especially lysine in its bioactive form. Lysine is a powerful weapon against cancers, liver disease, inflammation, and the viruses such as Epstein-Barr and shingles that are behind rheumatoid arthritis, joint pain, autoimmune disease, and more. Potatoes will be your allies if you’re looking to fight any chronic illness—to fend off liver disease, strengthen your kidneys, soothe your nerves and digestive tract, and reverse Crohn’s, colitis, IBS, or peptic ulcers.
In addition to being antiviral, they’re antifungal and antibacterial, with nutritional cofactors and coenzymes plus bioactive compounds to keep you healthy and assist you with stress. Further, potatoes are brain food that helps keep you grounded and centered. As a kid, did you ever do that science project where you stick some toothpicks in a potato, balance it in a cup of water, and watch it sprout on the windowsill? How many other foods can transform and thrive like that, coming to life before your eyes? That’s the power of a potato—a power that’s not to be underestimated—and we witness it firsthand as children. How does it happen that when we’re adults, we’re taught that it’s a weak, empty, ridiculous food, as though we’re supposed to forget the miracle we witnessed way back when? What we should really be saying about potatoes is, “Where would we be without you?” They are that vital to our existence.
Maybe you’ve steered clear of the potato misinformation all these years. If that’s the case, your body thanks you for it—and now you have even more reason to appreciate potatoes. On the other hand, if you’ve been led to believe that potatoes are nothing but starch that will add to your waistline, it’s time to see this root vegetable in a whole new light. If you’re bold enough to overcome the conditioning of popular food culture to appreciate the potato in its unadulterated form, you will give yourself one of the greatest gifts on this earth.
If you have any of the following conditions, try bringing potatoes into your life:
Heart disease; colon cancer; breast cancer; pancreatic cancer; prostate cancer; liver disease; liver cancer, kidney disease; kidney cancer; hypoglycemia; diabetes; obesity; arthritis (including rheumatoid); peptic ulcers; hemorrhoids; irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); Crohn’s disease; celiac disease; colitis; small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO); all other intestinal conditions; insomnia; depression; Graves’ disease; Hashimoto’s thyroiditis; low reproductive system battery; herpes; endometriosis; mystery infertility; shingles; anxiety; Addison’s disease; all autoimmune diseases and disorders; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); ear infections; eye infections; inflamed uterus, ovaries, and/or fallopian tubes
If you have any of the following symptoms, try bringing potatoes into your life:
Inflammation; fungus; fatigue; brain fog; difficulty sleeping; dizziness; ringing or buzzing in the ears; diabetic neuropathy; tingles and numbness; malaise; listlessness; hearing loss; hypothyroid; canker sores; restless leg syndrome; food allergies; anxiousness; skin discolorations; frozen shoulder; Candida overgrowth; Bell’s palsy; hyperthyroid; loss of libido; spasms; twitches; cold sores; central nervous system sensitivities; inflamed gallbladder, stomach, small intestine, and/or colon
Potatoes offer us foundation and strength when we’re feeling blurred, dizzy, foggy, troubled, or adrift in our lives. If your ego is consuming you, potatoes can tap into the humble confidence within, overriding the toxic emotions that keep you from succeeding in the areas of life that truly matter. Potatoes reorient us, help us to feel pleased and gratified by our experiences, and guide us to make choices not based on ego but out of true grounding and stability.
Have you ever felt like you had so much to offer, only you remained unseen by those around you? The potato is the ultimate underdog—full of potential, yet perpetually overlooked and trampled on (sometimes literally). Potatoes remind us of all our hidden gifts, our life purposes and talents that get trapped inside, held back, stifled by the earthly traffic known as everyday life. Potatoes’ humble strength is due in part to how they grow: in clusters, surrounded by other potatoes, like a large extended family. If you come from a small family or had a difficult upbringing, potatoes will energetically pass along the grounding and sense of belonging that comes from being raised with a wide familial support network. If you come from a large, adoring family, potatoes will help you continue your connections. Potatoes come in numbers for a reason: so that, like an army of loved ones, they can fight for you.
When you feel like you’re living by an arbitrary belief system that dictates what you’re supposed to do and who you’re supposed to be, connect with the wisdom of the potato. Remind yourself that so much of who you are is beneath the surface, that you are supported and witnessed, and that you deserve to unearth your true nature and share it with the world.
* Potatoes are one instance where it’s definitely best to seek out organic if possible.
* When preparing potatoes to eat, the best way to maximize the healing benefits and keep the nutrients intact is to steam them. If you normally eat your potatoes with butter, cheese, sour cream, or the like, try avocado as a dairy replacement, either cubed or mashed on top. Salsa and tahini are other tasty additions.
* After you’ve steamed a batch of potatoes, set some aside to cool. Later, pull them out of the fridge, slice or cube them, and add them to a spinach or kale salad. The enzymes from the potatoes will enhance the healing alkaloids in the leafy greens, maximizing the medicinal power of the meal.
* If you’re dealing with a cold sore, try putting a slice of raw potato on it for relief.
* Potatoes can absorb and help diminish the negative effects of wireless Internet signals, cell phone signals and emissions, and other electromagnetic fields (EMF). They can even soak up and neutralize the negative emotional energy we sometimes pick up during the day and bring home with us. To tap into this feature of potatoes, select one to keep out in a bowl on the kitchen counter or elsewhere in your home. Discard the potato every five to seven days (don’t eat it) and replace it with a fresh one.
* Whenever you’re celebrating, make potatoes part of the meal. Whether it’s a wedding, engagement, birthday, graduation, promotion, holiday, or other festive occasion, including potatoes will support and enhance the joyful emotions and help sustain them for days afterward.
CHILI-LOADED BAKED POTATOES WITH CASHEW “SOUR CREAM”
This chili is the perfect hearty, warming meal for colder months, though it’s great eaten any time of year. While it requires some chopping and a little time, the end result is a nice big batch of chili that will feed a hungry crowd or keep well for meals all week long. Feel free to add more red pepper for some extra spice.
1 pound black beans or kidney beans, soaked overnight*
1 tablespoon coconut oil
4 cups diced onion
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups diced carrots
2 cups diced celery
2 cups diced mushrooms
2 cups diced red bell pepper
2 teaspoons each cumin, poultry seasoning, garlic powder, and chili powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cups diced tomatoes
1 avocado, diced
1 jalapeno, minced
1/4 cup minced cilantro
FOR CASHEW “SOUR CREAM”:
1 cup raw cashews
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 date, peeled, pitted
1 garlic clove
1/2 cup water
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Pierce the potatoes in several places with a fork. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, until tender. Drain the beans, place in a 4-quart pot, and cover with an inch of water. Bring to a full boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook the beans for 1 hour, or until tender, adding more water as needed to keep the beans covered with liquid. Drain and set aside.
For the chili, heat 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a large pot; add the onions and garlic. SauteÅL over high heat until the onions are translucent and fragrant, adding water as needed to prevent sticking. Add the carrots, celery, mushrooms, bell pepper, spices, sea salt, and red pepper flakes, if using. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables begin to soften, about 15 minutes. Add beans, tomato paste, and tomatoes, stirring until well combined. Cover and continue to simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to low.
For the “sour cream,” blend all the ingredients until smooth, adding 1/2 cup water slowly (just enough to keep things moving). Halve the baked potatoes. Serve topped with chili, cashew “sour cream,” avocado, jalapeno, and cilantro.
* You may use 6 cups of salt-free canned beans, if desired.

If you’ve ever wandered the supplement aisle of a health food store, you may have come across a skin, hair, and nails formula. Formulas like this often promise stronger nails, perfect skin, and lustrous hair— qualities many of us would love. Unfortunately, these alluring supplements usually contain minuscule amounts of beneficial ingredients alongside a host of unfavorable ones. Instead of being lured into buying products that won’t actually fix the appearance of your skin, hair, or nails, I am here to share with you the real reasons behind skin blemishes, damaged hair, and brittle nails. Once you know the truth about these issues you can begin to heal your body from the inside out and come away with not only stronger nails, shinier hair, and better skin, but a wellness that no single product could ever offer.
Do you have wrinkles, blemishes, or under eye circles? If these skin issues emerge, people typically search for various remedies and creams to try and improve the condition of their skin. Although certain practices can be somewhat helpful, usually people turn to ineffective fixes that don’t address the origins of their skin issues.
Creams & Tonics
Oftentimes people turn to lotions and tonics to help treat their skin, but these topical treatments will not offer the true healing people are after. There are some antiviral and anticancer skin salves that you can create to help support skin issues, and there are creams that will mildly soften and moisturize the skin, but these ointments can only offer so much support. To really tackle skin problems you must work on healing the underlying issues.
Below the Surface
When it comes to figuring out why we have loose skin, blemishes, liver spots, and other skin problems, we have to dive below the surface and assess what’s going on underneath the epidermis.
The health of your liver plays a huge role in the health of your skin. The more toxic your liver is, the more likely you are to develop wrinkles and other skin problems that are typically associated with aging. Many people’s livers are burdened with toxins, and often people enter the world with toxins already built up in this organ from plastics, petrol oil, DDT, toxic heavy metals and other toxins that are passed onto us from our forefathers. I discuss this unknown truth and many others in my books Medical Medium and Life-Changing Foods, and also in my book Thyroid Healing. Cleaning out the toxins from your toxin-saturated liver is an essential part of addressing skin issues.
Many things are happening inside your liver. The tremendous amount of blood that floods into the liver not only contains oxygen and nutrients, but also has toxins that the liver must filter out. Once the liver cleanses and processes the blood, it then sends that blood to various areas of the body. If the liver directs blood that contains unfavorable material to the skin you may find that liver spots, wrinkles, flabby skin or other issues develop. Some people inherit incredibly toxic livers and as a result are forced to deal with major skin, hair, and nail issues, sometimes from early in life. Fortunately, regardless of your toxin load, there are measures you can take to clean up your liver and heal your skin!
If you want to learn more about liver health and some of the best ways to support this incredible organ, check out my radio show “Healing Your Liver”.
Adrenaline can create liver issues and negatively affect the health of your skin. If you’ve had to endure a number of acute stressors early on in life, it is likely that adrenaline has negatively impacted numerous organs, including your liver. When emotionally-charged situations occur, such as a the loss of a loved one, broken trust, or a financial hardship, corrosive adrenaline floods your system, hinders the liver, and can impact your skin. Working to support your adrenals through grazing and the use of certain supplements and nourishing foods is a key part of revitalizing your skin.

There are a number of things you can do to aid your adrenals, cleanse your liver and offer your skin incredible support. Here are just a few things to be mindful of as you work to improve your skin and overall health.
While covering your eyes with cucumbers during a spa treatment may feel nice and relaxing, drinking 16oz of straight cucumber juice will actually do far more to support your skin. Sipping on plain cucumber juice once a day is a phenomenal practice for promoting both liver and skin health.
Avoid fried foods, eggs, and dairy, and try to keep your fat intake low. Your liver can be burdened by too much fat in the diet and the focus for skin health needs to be on supporting the liver. If you are a meat eater, try to reduce the amount of animal protein you consume by only including it once a day. Cut out pork and instead opt for pasture-raised chicken and turkey breast, 100% grass-fed beef and other lean meats that are organic and antibiotic-free. If you choose to include fish in your diet, some better choices include salmon, halibut, and haddock. If you are able to cut your animal protein consumption in half this will lower your overall fat intake and leave room in your diet for an abundance of liver-cleansing fruits, leafy greens and vegetables. People who notice improvements in their skin when they cut out pastries, packaged goods, fried foods, and unproductive oils, will likely note even greater developments once they reduce the amount of animal protein in their diets. If you eat a plant based diet, you can reduce your plant fats by 50% also. For example, you can minimize oils and reduce nuts and seeds to just a couple of tablespoons per day. Or if you’re eating a lot of avocadoes, you could reduce consumption to 1/2 to 1 avocado per day. It’s important to increase your fruits and veggies significantly no matter which fats you reduce to ensure you are still consuming enough calories. If you feel sluggish or low energy after you reduce animal protein or any kind of fats in your diet, it could very well be because you are not eating enough calories from fruits, leafy greens, vegetables and other healthy foods to make up for the caloric drop.
Reducing the fat in your diet will also make space to bring in more beta-carotene-rich foods. Beta-carotene is critical for healthy skin and is found in a number of fruits and vegetables. When you provide your body with carotenes, the liver is able to send carotene-rich blood through the subcutaneous fat up to the skin. The liver is also able to label and slightly alter the carotene so that it is capable of surviving the trip to the derma. The liver, a master at manipulating chemical compounds, allows for a completely different form of methylation than medical science and medical research are currently familiar with. When the liver knows carotenes are available to send to the skin, it fuels the delivery differently by making sure that there is ample oxygen in the blood that supplies the carotenes to the derma. Medical research and medical science have not yet discovered this incredible process. Foods high in beta-carotene include mangoes, papayas, mamey sapote, sweet potatoes, and leafy greens such as spinach. In addition, raspberries and colorful melon varieties are rich in beta-carotene. Whether you slice up a papaya for breakfast or munch on some mangoes before bed, your skin will appreciate whatever carotenes you are able to bring into your diet.
Eating foods that contain silica is important as well. It will be years before medical science and medical research discover that there are two different kinds of silica. One type of silica offers tremendous support for the bones while the other variety is particularly helpful for the skin. This second variety of silica can be found in vegetables such as asparagus and artichokes. The stems of kale also contain this silica. Horsetail and nettle possess both varieties of silica and when you ingest either herb, your liver separates out the two kinds of silica and delivers each to the area they best support. If you’re looking to have tight, healthy skin, bringing in the variety of silica that offers powerful skin support is essential. A high-quality silica supplement that focuses on supporting bone health can be beneficial as well. This supplement typically offers a number of extra benefits alongside bone health support.
Ridding your liver of pesticides, heavy metals, and other toxins can transform the health of your liver and skin. One great way to remove these toxins is by consuming the top five foods for detoxifying heavy metals from the body daily— wild blueberries, cilantro, Hawaiian spirulina, barley grass juice extract powder, and Atlantic dulse. Consistently including all of these components in your daily diet can be a powerful way to reclaim your health and support your skin. To learn more about the heavy metal detox check out my blog post on heavy metal detox.
You’ve probably heard about the importance of hydration when it comes to the health of your skin, and I want to highlight this fact. Hydration is essential. People who are chronically dehydrated can actually have skin that is deficient of water. Bringing lemon water and other healing liquids into your day like fresh fruit and vegetable juices can be a wonderful step towards better hydration and better skin.
Everyone wants strong, healthy hair, but more often than not people suffer from hair issues that leave them feeling confused and frustrated. Just like the health of your skin, the health of your hair is largely due to issues deep below the surface. In this section, you will discover some of the factors that play a role in creating your hair problems and steps you can take to transform the health of your locks.
Adrenaline & Emotional Stress
Adrenaline from emotional events and life stressors can have a major impact on the health of your hair. When you experience a painful situation or serious hardship, adrenaline floods your system and not only impacts the health of your liver and skin, but can negatively affect your hair as well. If you experience the loss of a loved one, go through a divorce or breakup, or suffer a terrible betrayal, your hair may develop a straw-like texture and fall out. These symptoms can occur after the hardship takes place and may continue for a period of time unless you provide your body with the nourishment and support it needs. A protein-packed hair care product is not going to give your hair the restoration you hope for. One of the best actions you can take to restore your hair is to support your adrenals. Your hair will be at its best when your adrenals are healthy. Learn more about adrenal fatigue in my first book, Medical Medium, and learn some of the best ways to start nourishing your adrenals here.
Medical experts incorrectly believe alopecia is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles that generate hair growth. This misinformation puts the blame on the patient when the truth is, medical research and medical science don’t actually know what triggers alopecia. Eventually the truth that I’ve brought to light will be discovered— that alopecia is an adrenal issue.
Medical research and science is unaware that adrenaline is made up of a complicated group of hormones that have not yet been identified. If someone has alopecia, his or her adrenals are lacking one of the undocumented hormones that make up part of the 56 different blends of adrenaline that I detail in my book Medical Medium. Ashwagandha can be a beneficial supplement for helping to restore a trace of the missing hormone. I’ve worked with people who had alopecia, and once they addressed the issues connected to their adrenal health, their hair was able to grow back.
Like your adrenals, the health of your liver impacts the health of your hair. If you have a toxic, overburdened liver, you are more likely to experience hair problems. In these instances, hair loss or issues such as dermatitis, eczema, or psoriasis on the scalp may arise.
Supportive Supplements & Teas
A skin, hair, and nails formula may have a minuscule amount of beneficial ingredients such as horsetail or nettle leaf, but it is also usually packed with fillers and other components that do not contribute to the health of your skin, hair, or nails. Whether you have alopecia or just want to better support your hair, try incorporating ashwagandha in your supplement protocol. This powerful herb can support your adrenals and transform the health of your hair. Nettle leaf tea or tincture and lemon balm tea or tincture are two other supplements that can help restore the hair. Milk thistle may be another supplement you want to include if you are looking to support your liver and revitalize your hair. A high-quality zinc sulfate is beneficial for a host of health issues, including hair, skin, and nail health. Your hair can also benefit from the addition of Hawaiian spirulina and barley grass juice extract powder in your diet. Check out high-quality supplement recommendations on the Medical Medium preferred supplements page.
The state of your nails can tell you a lot more about your overall health than you may realize. Although having divots or ridges in your nails may be annoying, they can actually be extremely helpful signs of internal issues that need to be addressed.
Zinc Deficiencies, Adrenaline, & Liver Issues
Do your nails have white spots, divots, ridges, pockets, bubbles, or vanishing half moons? A long-standing zinc deficiency is typically part of the reason for nail issues. The second part of the problem is usually liver-related. Often when you experience an emotionally-charged situation, whether it be falling in love for the first time or enduring the aftermath of a breakup for example, adrenaline surges through your system and can break down the body if proper adrenal support is not in place. The frequent occurrence of adrenaline rushes can harm the liver and lead to thin, brittle, unhealthy nails. Fortunately, there are a number of supportive supplements and foods you can incorporate to help restore the underlying issues that result in poor nail health.
When it comes to restoring your nails, we often become focused on having a protein deficiency. Instead, shift your focus to providing your body with the key vitamins and minerals that can help truly revitalize your nails.
Zinc is a critical supplement to incorporate if you are working to restore your nails. Pumpkin seeds, which are often said to be high in zinc, contain some of this mineral and can be a great addition to your diet. However, when you are severely zinc deficient, a zinc supplement is essential. Selenium is another great supplement choice for supporting nail health. Ionic manganese free of citric acid can be beneficial as well. Other supplements to consider incorporating include molybdenum and silica. If you work with a practitioner to bring in these supplements and support your liver and adrenals through a fruit, leafy green and veggie-filled diet, you will begin to notice positive changes in your nails and overall health in time.
The Truth About Protein
Many medical professionals presently believe that increased protein consumption is the answer for better skin, hair, and nails, but this is not entirely true. High quality protein, which can easily be procured from spirulina, barley grass juice extract powder, and foods such as kale, spinach, lentils, black beans, and walnuts is valuable, but overloading the liver with large quantities of protein can actually tire out this organ and undermine the health of your skin, hair, and nails. Thousands of different compounds and chemical functions play a role in the health of your skin, hair, and nails, and it is detrimental to exclusively champion protein as the most important element for skin, hair and nail health. Be mindful of the amount of protein you incorporate in your diet and realize that too much protein can have negative effects on your liver and as a result, your skin, hair and nails. Try to move your focus from protein to the particular foods and supplements that can offer genuine support.
The Truth About Fish Oil Supplements
Omega-3 fish oil has been widely promoted as a support for hair, skin, and nail health, but this information is misguided. The highly concentrated mercury found in krill and fish oil supplements only serves to harm the body. Even products that claims to be mercury-free still contain this toxic heavy metal. Regardless of the diet you choose to follow, switch out your fish oil supplement for a plant-based omega-3. This doesn’t mean you can’t eat certain fish you enjoy, like salmon, because a serving of fish has less mercury than concentrated fish oil. For more information on fish oil supplements check out the “What Not to Eat” chapter in Medical Medium.
Supportive Foods for the Skin, Hair, & Nails
The food choices you make can have an incredible impact on the health of your skin, hair, and nails. If you don’t want to include supplements in your healing protocol at this time, know that bringing the right foods into your diet will still help enormously. Because the liver and the adrenal glands play major roles in skin, hair, and nail health, choosing foods that support these parts of the body is critical. Try to incorporate lettuces such as red leaf and butter leaf which can provide your body with powerful omega-3s. You can also find wonderful omega-3s in hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and walnuts. Certain juices like celery and cucumber can offer invaluable liver support. Figs are wonderful for hair health, as well as skin health, nail health, and any issues a woman may have with her reproductive system. If you aren’t able to find fresh figs, try to bring a few organic dried figs into your diet. Wild blueberries offer the most powerful support for your liver of any food in existence. The being said, all different kinds of berries, including cherries, are good for your liver and can support hair, skin, and nail health. Figs, avocados, and bananas are three foods that are rich in potassium, an essential element for the skin. Bananas are fantastic at helping flush out the liver, cleanse the intestinal tract, and support hair, skin, and nail health. Papayas and mangoes are particularly helpful for supporting the skin. If you choose to sprout lentils, the lentil divides into a carbohydrate and is stored as glycogen in the body that offers incredible support for your skin, hair, and nails. Do you eat a protein-heavy diet? Try making space for some of the foods that will help you heal by substituting some of your protein-dense choices for more of these different fresh fruits and veggies that can offer your skin, hair, and nails some amazing benefits.
Becoming curious about what’s going on underneath the surface is important when you are working to transform the health of your skin, hair, and nails. Could your liver need support? Have your adrenals been under severe strain? Asking these kinds of questions and learning more about the symptoms that point toward an underlying issue can help you address the root issues causing skin, hair, and nail issues. You will also be helping other health issues that you may not be aware of. If you are concerned about the wrinkles on your face, the white spots on your nails, or the straw-like texture of your hair, begin to explore and incorporate the supplements and foods that can actually heal the underlying causes of your skin, hair, and nail issues. Healing your body from the inside out takes knowing the truths that I share here and in my books and on my blog, applying the correct protocol and having patience and persistence, but you will be rewarded for your efforts with the amazing gift of better health. Reach out for support along your journey, hold onto the truths shared here, and never let go of the fact that your body is capable of true healing!

We tend to forget about vitamin C unless we’re trying to fight off a cold. Even though we’ve read in the history books about sailors who used to contract scurvy on long voyages without fresh fruit—so we’re familiar with the concept of vitamin C deficiency—it drifts off to the parts of our minds where we store information about DDT, mercury, and other dangers we think are set firmly in the past. Truth is, vitamin C deficiency is still a reality today, and it can contribute to almost any disease. Vitamin C is a critical part of how we survive here on earth—which is why you want rose hips in your life. The vitamin C in rose hips is the most bioidentical, bioavailable form of vitamin C in existence—that is, the most usable form for our bodies. Plus, the vitamin C in rose hips has the power to transform other vitamin C found in the system from other foods you eat into something bigger and better. Vitamin C is anti-inflammatory (and the vitamin C in rose hips is more anti-inflammatory than from any other source); helps increase our blood’s white count by strengthening our neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, and macrophages; and generally boosts the immune system against viruses, bacteria, yeast, mold, and other unwanted fungus.
Rose hips are a particularly helpful catalyst for battling virtually any type of infection. When a virus such as Epstein-Barr is active in the body, it often gives off damaging neurotoxins and dermatoxins, and in the process, a jelly-like substance called biofilm forms from the virus’s debris. This biofilm is not only like a petri dish for unproductive microorganisms such as bacteria in the body, it can also gunk up the works of critical organs. The liver acts as a sponge, absorbing this biofilm in an effort to protect the body, however the biofilm can break loose into the blood, and then, because the heart draws much of its blood from the liver, this sticky jelly residue can get caught in heart valves such as the mitral valve. This is a hidden cause of mystery heart palpitations, tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, and arrhythmia. The vitamin C in rose hips can stop this from occurring. It has a dissolving effect on biofilm, helping to break up deposits of it and ultimately give relief to the person who suffers from irregular heartbeats.
Rose hips are amazing for alleviating UTIs—much more powerful at the job than cranberries—and for healing skin conditions. They also have a higher ratio of antioxidants than most healing foods, and contain a wide variety of antioxidants (many of which are still undiscovered) in addition to vitamin C. Roses’ roots go deeper into the soil than many other shrubs. Because of the depths to which they reach, they’re able to work their way into clay and loam, and draw up nearly every type ofmineral, including critical silica. Even when you grow roses in your backyard, the resulting rose hips are still a wild food. Grafting, hybridization, and cultivation cannot take the wildness out of the rose—these powers never waver.
If you have any of the following conditions, try bringing rose hips into your life:
Ear infections, dental issues, gum disease, gum abscesses, urinary tract infections (UTIs) such as bladder infections and kidney infections, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), laryngitis, tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, colds, influenza, sinus infections, acne, vitiligo, skin infections, staph infections, strep throat, sties, eye infections, MRSA, toenail and fingernail fungus, adrenal fatigue, herpex simplex 2 (HSV-2), all autoimmune diseases and disorders, chronic bronchitis, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), hemorrhoids, psoriatic arthritis, internal bacterial infections, seizure disorders, diabetes
If you have any of the following symptoms, try bringing rose hips into your life:
Sore throat, canker sores, heart palpitations, stagnant liver, sluggish liver, constipation, rashes, excess mucus, fever, all neurological symptoms (including tingles, numbness, spasms, arrhythmia, enlarged spleen, twitches, nerve pain, and tightness of the chest), blurred vision, frozen shoulder, hot flashes, blisters, body pain, itchy skin, listlessness, brain lesions, mineral deficiencies, cough, dizzy spells, ringing or buzzing in the ears, dry skin, eye dryness, malaise, neck pain, nervousness, shoulder pain
Have you ever felt like someone had it out for you? Like you were under psychic attack? Do others’ negative opinions affect your state of mind? Rose hips are critical to protect you against this sort of ill will. Whether people are upset that you’re pursuing natural approaches (such as natural childbirth or breastfeeding for a long period), laying down the law at work, or following your conscience when they wish you’d compromise your morals, bring in rose hips to block out the naysayers so you can pursue your path.
The fleeting beauty of roses gets a lot of attention. What about when the petals drop away? It isn’t cause for melancholy, or reflection on how we’re at the mercy of time—it’s cause for celebration. That big, showy, fragrant blossom was just the invitation; the party really gets started once the rose fades and the flower’s fruit, the rose hip, begins to ripen. The same is true of people. Getting older isn’t a reason to mourn— our younger years are just the beginning. As we age and our experience grows, we gain our real value: fruitful wisdom that we can share and use to nourish each other. What else in your life are you writing off as an end, when really, it’s a beginning?
* The rose hip is the rose’s soul. Before you brew rose hip tea, set the serving of dried rose hips you intend to use in the sun for five minutes (no more). This will activate the rose hips’ most powerful memory of swaying in the wind and basking in the sun on a perfect August day—which enhances the soul of the rose so it can pass on its maximum potency to you.
* Once you’ve made your tea, add a squeeze of lemon and some raw honey to make the vitamin C content highly active
